Very good bagels, fresh and tasty. The cafe is not so cozy, and the service is super slow. We had to wait so long for two bagels.

Google
Oh my, the bagels here are truly divine! This was the perfect breakfast stop on our roadtrip to Sonoma, and the staff was super friendly too. I had the Cream Cheese and Greens bagel sandwich and it was perfect - fresh, delicious, and satisfying. You really can't go wrong with any of their options, and they have so many different kinds of bagels to choose from that are baked fresh in house! You've got to go!

Google
This is a bit overpriced, but the bagels were really good. White Mocha was delicious. The Molasses cookie was amazing!Unfortunately, though.... we were a bit taken back when a plain black coffee did not have refills. This..... they could do better. Overall, it was a good visit.

Google
Great food, I ordered a lox bagel and it was absolutely delicious. This is my second time coming here but I am not sure if I will be returning. I noticed that they have an employee with long hair below their shoulders in the front coffee/bagel area. I also noticed he was serving food out to tables and going into the kitchen area. I noticed all the female employees have their hair up, so why does this employee have their hair down? Very interesting. The last thing I need is to have a hair in my coffee or bagel sandwich. Why risk a potential food hazard? I’m aware that employees that are not preparing food don’t need to have their hair up. However, I noticed he was in direct contact with food when he was seen serving food to tables. If he is going to have his long hair down, he should be only taking orders.

Google
Great bagel shop in town. Bagels are delicious and so is the coffee and orange juice. Can't really go wrong here!

Google
I love the vibe at bagel mill. Always so inviting. Have a great menu with daily fresh bagels and sweet treats! Coffee is absolutely delicious. My favorite bagel sandwich is always the Lox on everything bagel!

Google
The espresso was burnt and they said it was a double but if it was a double it was for mice tiny little shot in the bottom of a tiny little paper cut and it was burnt. Idk super expensive just make bagel at home not worth it to me but I know tons of people love this spot. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Google
The Cream Cheese and Greens bagel is my go to for freshness with the crunchy veg and cream cheese. “Scallion cream cheese, radish, cucumber, pickled red onions, sprouts”

Yelp
Coming from a life-long New Jerseyan, good bagel places are nearly impossible to find in the area. Bagel Mill was recommended as the best place in town and that reco is what brought me here. The place is super nice looking. Once you walk in, it put me right back into Jersey at a bagel shop. I used to visit every now and again.. Big glass windows, window, front bar, seating with tables in the back, wide open views to where the magic is made... And they even have their own mill. As far as the bagels go, they have a nice hard crust with a fluffy, doughy texture inside. The textures are right on point, though the bagels and selves aren't as pillowy as you'd find generally anywhere in Jersey. I got half a dozen everything, and it seems that they were whole wheat. They have a variety of smears, and I got plain and scallion... Both were pretty solid and easy to spread. I purposely did not look at the prices because I didn't want that to affect my opinion. So, I couldn't tell you if the meal is too expensive, right on point, or a bargain.

Yelp
Consistently satisfying bagel sandwiches! I always go for the classic lox or California. They are always delicious. I don't come by as often as I'd like as it feels like a splurge but leave happy every time I visit. Plus they have great espresso drinks. Service has been friendly and patient even when they're in a rush. I've heard others complain about running out of options early. Personally haven't had this issue but I do order or pickup early whenever I visit.

Yelp
The bagel mill has quickly become one of my favorite spots in downtown Petaluma! First of all, any bagel (sandwich or transitional toasted with cream cheese), you can't go wrong with. I've had multiple variations and combos, including the vegan sandwich bagel - all delicious and worth purchasing again! The coffee is also quite delicious, I always make it a point to try the seasonal drinks, pumpkin latte, honey latte, and salted mocha have been my fav since fall when I started visiting. Staff are always so friendly and I appreciate their kind energy this day and age when customer service is not always great. I wish the area was quieter, as when I've met someone here it's really difficult to hear one another and have a functioning conversation.

Yelp
I love the Bagel Mill! I had only been here one other time, and I decided to come back when my friend came into town. The service was very fast and everyone was so nice. The interior is so cute and has lots of plants, and there was a lot of natural light in the front area! I got the California Egg and Cheese Sesame bagel, and it was so delicious. It comes with avocado and I am a huge avocado fan, and I feel like it paired so perfectly. The bagels were so good that we also got a half-dozen to go. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Awesome spot for bagels in Petaluma! If you love sourdough it is a MUST. Note: it can get crowded on weekends so recommend ordering ahead.

Yelp
Always pleasant service. Good coffee! Today I had a everything bagel with cinnamon smear. The bagel had that yummy bagel tang that I like. Free Wi-Fi. Lots of seating. Good place to gather yourself before you begin the day. Or to catch up on those emails.

Yelp
I like a good but I'm certainly not an expert on subject. However many close friends are bagel freaks and when I brought some Bagel Mill bagels to their place they went crazy. They knew all about the place and so has my other Bagley friends. So take it from them... through me, this is the real deal!! Oh, and they also offer olive cream cheese spread!!

Laura M.

Yelp
I tried a couple of new things on this trip. I finally tried the very scrumptious and decadent cinnamon roll - more than met my expectations! I also took home some bagels as I usually do, but I added the roasted Shishido peppers cream cheese. Delicious!

Yelp
great bagels. easy service. ordered online during butter n eggs day walked over and waited 3 minutes! sammies were delish and you can order many variations. i love pumpernickel bagels tho sad they don't have them. but ORGANIC and whole wheat is very cool.

Yelp
If you like bagels and you like avocado toast, you need to try this place. I had the best avocado toast (bagel) of my life at The Bagel Mill! I chose an everything bagel for mine and OMG the bagel was great! I am a sucker for a good bagel!! The avocado bagel was delicious!! It was loaded with a thick layer of smashed avocado, picked onions and sprouts! There was some sort of dressing, not sure if it was an oil/vinegar mixture or what, but it was the perfect addition that made the entire thing! I wouldn't have changed a single thing about this menu item and I already which I was back in CA to order another one! This place is very cute and seems like a local favorite. The service was great and everyone was super friendly! I went on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and my order came out super quick! Definitely recommend making a stop here if you're in the area!

Yelp
A very hip and cute little local bagel shop to check out. A good amount of indoor seating, seems like a cute place to enjoy your morning cup of Joe and a quick bagel. I stopped by on a Wednesday morning with a friend after a few days of camping on the coast. Was a short line when we entered which gave us enough time to check out their menu. They have your typical morning/ afternoon pick me up beverages, from coffee drinks to tea, to a few juices and even beer and wine. As for food, well it is a bagel shop! Build your own or choose from their specialty bagel sandwiches. They also have granola and yogurt, fresh fruit and salads, and more! I opted for a hot mint tea and their 'vegan dream' on a pesto bagel, but sub regular cream cheese over the cashew. Paid $19 for both, a little pricey. Food was fairly quick to come out, maybe 5-10 mins. The lady that took my order was a bit unnecessary sassy unfortunately. I had asked a few questions before ordering and she seemed annoyed at my questions and kind of made me feel dumb about what I was asking. There was no one behind me in line so I was confused as why I was getting the attitude, but so it goes. We all have bad days.. As for my meal, whatever tea brand they use is pretty weak compared to most, tasted like extra watered down tea. The bagel itself was really good, quality at that, but for the ingredients inside, wasn't the biiiiiggest fan. It was very sweet, but also just kind of bland. Perhaps I should've just added some salt or pepper, but I just didn't hit home for me. I want to like it and I like what it has to offer so I'll be back to try something else but next time, but I'm on the fence for now.

Yelp
I know there are mixed reviews about the food at The Bagel Mill, but I am actually a huge fan of their bagels, and I love their salted honey lattes. The reason for my 2-star review is the fact that their posted hours on Google and on their website are 7am-2pm, but on 3 separate occasions I drove the 30 minutes with my kids to have lunch, and they were closed nearly 2 hours early. A few weeks ago, we called to order ahead around 12:15, and were told that they had sold out. Lastly (and the final inspiration for this review), I pre-ordered bagels and coffees last night, and I received a call at 11:51 am from the restaurant to let me know that they had sold out and would be canceling and refunding my order. While I realize that it must be hard to estimate what you might sell each day, underestimating demand to the extent that they close nearly 2-hours early on a regular basis seems like bad business to me. What about selling day-old bagels for a discount if you end the day with leftovers rather than losing out on lunch customers? Sadly, I am now on the hunt for a new favorite bagel spot.

Yelp
Good chewy bagels! Got the Reuben and the spicy turkey club. Both were good, but the Rueben definitely outshined the STC. Would have loved a little more sauerkraut and dressing, but they were shy about the meat (on either sando) Will be back to try more

Yelp
Best bagels in town. The avocado toast and the cream cheese and greens bagel (add tomato) are my go-to's but I've had many of the menu items and honestly all are excellent.

Yelp
First time here. This is now my favorite bagel place. I got the sesame bagel. It's dense, moist, and a touch chewy. I call that perfect. If that wasn't enough, it's got a shiny coat. The veggie cream cheese was one of the best veggie spreads I've had. There is no doubt that it is home-made. It's got chunks of red bell pepper and lots of garlic in it. My daughter got the pesto bagel. That was also very good. They also serve espresso drinks. I got my usual double espresso. They use a medium-roasted coffee from Ritual in SF. I'm not a big fan of medium roasts, but it worked. They also have a beautiful, comfortable and spacious indoor space for enjoying your food and drinks. I will be back again (and again). They are many other things that I would like to try.
google avatar

Yelp
The people that work here are AWESOME. I have an allergy to sesame and they always make sure to be a safe as possible and provide all the disclosure statement about it being in the vicinity and it's up to me if I want to take the risk. Well when it comes to bagels that is just something that you do. You risk your life on this planet to eat a bagel. An you assess the risk based on the people that hold your life in their hands and I have to say I am fine handing my life over to the staff at the bagel mill. As far as the bagel itself it is good. Tasty. Not a home run, call your mama to tell her you found an amazing bagel in NorCal but maybe more tell a friend to check it out if they are in the area type bagel. So with that said I give the ambiance a 4, the service a 5 and the bagel a 3.5. You do the math.

Yelp
The Bagel Mill deserves a star for its late summer seasonal menu, specifically: * roasted tomato toast * blistered shishito pepper cream cheese * roasted strawberry cream cheese Definitely worth going out of your way to try all of these before the season ends.
google avatar

Patrick O.

Yelp
What can I say, loads of fluffy cream cheese and plentifully toppings on a chewy rye bagel. The open faced lox is hearty and everything was fresh. Salty paradise. 5 stars because of the good service and A grade americano the baristas pulled. Ritual coffee seems pretty reliable. Thanks.
google avatar

Yelp
I was visiting for the weekend and came to the Bagel Mill both mornings! One thing I liked is that the pesto bagels here are much thinner and not as dense. I got the California Egg & Cheese Sandwich which I totally recommend for filling breakfast. I also tried the Sourdough Cinnamon Roll which was great. The icing wasn't too sweet and the sourdough balances it out. They have really good espresso as well. The shop is very modern and pleasant. The staff is also very quick and friendly. Definitely recommend this place to any bagel lover!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious gluten free bagels here! Bought a bunch for home and toasted and the scallion cream cheese is yuuumm.

Larry C.

Yelp
The bagels were good service was ok. My problem is tipping. If I have a to go order that is placed at the counter while I'm standing then you call my name, why should a 15% tip be expected. The look the server gave me after learning she didn't get a tip was not pleasant. I think if I'm carrying my bag out and stood there to order. Maybe i should get a discount. If I ate in the restaurant I'm sure I would be expected to bus my own table.

Sunnyside U.

Yelp
Best bagels I've ever had...and I've lived in NYC...TWICE! The coffee is also amazing and the best in Sonoma county! This place is a must if you're ANYWHERE close by.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
Outstanding Pesto Bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese. Small town vibe with a cool ambiance. Service was friendly and fast. Great choice when you're in town.
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
Yummy bagels. Easy delivery too. I especially enjoy the pumpernickel and their special spreads

H C.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and bagels. Definitely recommend one of the sandwiches on the menu. The bagels have the perfect balance of crunchy exterior and fluffy inside. My personal favorite is the Avocado Toast bagel on the Onion bagel. Depending on the timing it can get busy because everyone wants one of the bagels but it is definitely worth the wait. Also the coffee is a plus- tried the seasonal Toasted Coconut latte and it did not disappoint! Staff is extremely friendly.

Jenaddy G.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! As well as the FOOD! Service is Great! The one hour drive is worth it !
google avatar

Mikhala F.

Yelp
Yum! Come here every time I'm in town, and it never disappoints. Gluten free friends, they have the hookup! Each time I come they've had 3 GF options. Imagine friends, OPTIONS! I have tried and can personally vouch for the lox and avocado toast specials - delicious. While a bit steep in price, I'm just not used to CA prices. Great quality ingredients that shine. They make a dang good chai, too! Pretty simple interior but plenty on the menu to choose from, great quality bagels, and friendly staff.
google avatar

Morty S.

Yelp
Very mediocre and over priced. Bagels were good, but barely toasted, just a very lackluster eating experience. Pretty lame and basic.
google avatar

Pamela F.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Chintzy on the lox. We got a sandwich to go for our flight and they didn't even bother slicing it in half for us. And they added a tip without asking. Not returning.
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Ok my wife said you got to try this bagel place , I was no it is across town let's get one somewhere else, She was no they are really really good. Ok let's try it out. It is just a bagel right! Wrong super delicious, I got a butter ham on onion bagel and my wife got a veggie type. But she was right ! Definitely the place to go if you are in Petaluma.
google avatar

D. G.

Yelp
I visited the Bagel Mill for my first time today. I was greeted right away and thanked for coming in as I left. That said my food experience was pretty lackluster: I ordered an open-faced lox and cream cheese. The portion was ample but the bagel itself had a texture more like bread than a bagel, the lox had seen better days, plating was sloppy and the whole shebang was topped with what appeared to be an entire jar of capers. For $15 I expect more. Doubt I'll return.
google avatar

Hannah B.

Yelp
This is a great place to take a picky vegan friend, and still be able to eat something decent yourself. Terrific bagels. Too often they are out of pumpernickel, but that's not an uncommon problem. Excellent coffee. Nice spot for breakfast. Lots of roomy tables. Great servers who know how to treat everyone with respect.

A G.

Yelp
By far one of the best bagels I have ever had. Been coming here for years and if you get the chance to try the Jorge special DO IT. Jorge, whoever you are, God bless you!!!!

Rogue O.

Yelp
Awesome! Possibly the best bagels I've had (get the toasted sesame with green olive cream cheese!)...and ditto on the coffee. Well done! (Only 4 out of 5 stars as it the prices are pretty high, but no reflection on the quality of the food).

Amanda T.

Yelp
Super cute but piss poor bagels and cinnamon rolls. The texture was tough and seemed rubbery. We were bummed! Staff were sweet environs seemed cozy.
google avatar

E C.

Yelp
Delish home made bagels & schmear! Great space to sit & enjoy. Walking distance from downtown Super friendly staff
google avatar

Juan A.

Yelp
Made a pit stop to The Bagel Mill on the way to Guerneville...and it did not disappoint! I came with some friends and we all ordered the avocado toast bagel and it was a 10/10. The avocado toast was a perfect balance of avocado, pickled veggies, and alfalfa sprouts. If you're ever in Petaluma or just passing through like myself, this is a great spot to check out
google avatar

Yelp
After living on the East coast and being massively spoiled by incredible New York bagels made fresh in the city, we had ridiculously high expectations about what a bagel experience should feel like and taste like. After a friend told me to eat here I very reluctantly agreed and I was so glad to have taken the risk and finding this absolute gem! Our first experience here, we both ordered bagel sandwiches for a breakfast type meal. He ordered a gorgeous egg sandwich ($5) with bacon (+$7.50) on a sesame and I ordered the greens and cheese ($8) on a marble rye everything. We also ordered a cinnamon roll ($5 only on Sundays) and sticky pecan roll ($6 only on Sundays), both of which were delicious. The texture of the bagels and the quality of the fillings were very impressive, and were matched in quality by their harmonious flavors. On subsequent visits, we have tried many other things and have been thrilled each time. I picked up one of their free sourdough starters which now lives in my fridge and has made pancakes and other wonderful things. I've got to say though my favorite item that I have had here was their heritage grain Khorasan cookie ($4 only on Saturdays) with guittard chocolate chips and flaked sea salt which just rocked my world. Prices here are excellent for the quality and flavor of their products and you can tell that they are made with care and skill. The downsides are that they sell out of items quickly so you've got to get there early with your order, and 100% of the orders I have placed for a green tea latte have been almost all foam with a tiny bit of green tea and it runs me a pretty penny so I have learned that this is not where I get my matcha latte fix. That said, we will be returning here repeatedly because the experiences have been overall so excellent and it's basically the only really good bagel game in the area!
google avatar

Joey D.

Yelp
Delicious bagel and super friendly service. I asked for a sesame seed bagel and they gave me poppyseed. However, I still enjoyed it a lot. It tasted delicious and fresh.
google avatar

Emily X.

Yelp
Needed a quick on the go breakfast spot and found this gem. We ordered the "California egg & cheese" on a onion bagel with added jalapeño cream cheese, sourdough cinnamon roll, and iced strawberry matcha. The bagel sandwich was great, however we wished they put more cream cheese. The cinnamon roll was a good balance from the sweet frosting and the sourdough. And the matcha drink was okay. I felt like it was lacking strawberry flavor. In the photo you really don't see any strawberry. Overall, great local spot for bagels. Would come again if I'm on the go and am craving bagels!

Ralf ..

Yelp
Solid, great bagel place, definitely can compete with New York places. I mostly come here for a bagel with spread, or egg and cheese, but they also make some delicious sandwich bagels.
google avatar

Harold W.

Yelp
I really like the bagels. Chewy and delicious. All the different flavors of bagels are tasty. I have always had very good service. My favorite item to order is the spicy turkey club sandwich. This sandwich is full of flavors. I normally go for the everything bagel. The turkey is delicious. Topped with thick slices of Hobb's bacon, avocado and the spicy sriracha mayo you can't go wrong. They do not skimp on the amount of ingredients. Lots of turkey, bacon and avocado. And the presentation is always very nice. Great local restaurant!!
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
GF bagels! And they looked almost the same as the gluten filled ones. They were tender, and not super tough like other ones I have tried. Well done
google avatar

Elyse W.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday morning with some friends and we were all delighted by our breakfast at The Bagel Mill. I ordered an egg and cheese on a salt bagel. The bagel was fantastic! Definitely one of the best bagels I've had on the west coast. The space is bright and airy and I loved all of the indoor plants. Their coffee drinks looked delicious as well. There was a bit of a line on Sunday morning, but service was quick and efficient. Ultimately, The Bagel Mill serves high quality bagels in lovely downtown Petaluma. I can't wait to return and try more bagels!

Erica E.

Yelp
Hands down best avocado toast I have ever had! My husband and son love their breakfast sandwiches too.

Jaso M.

Yelp
Decent bagels, nice people, comfortable space. Bagels are of the small, chewy type - but nothing wrong with that.
google avatar

Beth K.

Yelp
I did not receive the friendliest of service and was not impressed with quality of the bagels (mine was hard). Will not revisit establishment again.

Beka C.

Yelp
The bagels are good, but they add excessive amounts of cream cheese. There was probably enough cream cheese for several bagels. I would not recommend the tea. My tea tasted like water. They did have friendly staff, and indoor seating though.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Delicious organic bagels made in house . Such an amazing variety of bagels , coffee, and wine! Beyond the typical flavors they have an astounding pesto bagel, marble rye bagel, and pizza bagels. Friendly staff with a really wide menu of homemade jams, spreads (cinnamon sugar spread is supposed to be great) and more. Would definitely stop back in again !
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
By far, the best bagel I've had anywhere in the Bay Area. I went in on a weekday to grab a dozen bagels for a co-workers birthday. I scoured Yelp for the best bagel place and my instincts (and some amazing yelp reviews,) led me here. I was charmed from the moment I walked in the door. The smell of fresh bagels and coffee brewing set the tone. The shop itself is very cute, updated modern chic decor and has a pleasant vibe overall. I ordered a random assortment of bagels and then took the suggestion to try the olive cream cheese along with the cinnamon and chive ones I already settled on. This was the best decision ever. The olive cream cheese is so amazing. People at work raved for a week. The other cream cheese selections were also good. The bagels have this light crispness to the outside and softness on the inside. I was just looking up the menu to sneak in there today when I discovered they are closed. Oh well, everyone needs a day off. Gotta rest those bagel makers!
