Stopped on a whim as I was driving by and I absolutely love this place! It’s a cute space (with all gender restrooms!), the bagels are fresh and their spreads are so flavorful! Staff is super nice and helpful. I was able to sample a few spreads the I ordered the everything bagel with cheddar horseradish sour cream. So good! I love that they give a generous amount of cream cheese also!

Born and raised in New York, I've eaten my share of bagels over the years. These are the best bagels I've had, and my brunch guests agreed. We did a takeout order for a combo of plain, egg and everything bagels plus their plain cream cheese spread. The flavor and texture of the bagels were perfect. The bagels had a light crispness with hints of sweetness vs sourness. There was none of the chewiness and dryness you expect with bagels. Our order was filled right away, and the price was very reasonable. Their cafe space is cozy, especially the back room, if you choose to eat in. When my shiba and I walk by here in the early morning hours, we see the staff already hard at work. We will be back to try their sandwiches.

Mary helped me place a large catering order which was ready right on time. She was very responsive and helpful through the process. Recommend for people wanting an easy and delicious option for parties!

After sitting on mute while throwing in a big smile here and there to show I am actively listening for 3 consecutive zoom calls this morning, I needed a bagel to reward myself for this life changing work. The homie mentioned this place was close and "pretty good," so I put all my trust in her. She ordered her bagel via mobile app because she is too embarrassed to ask for her bagel scooped out in person, and I wanted to order in person because I only fear God...and because I wanted no cheese on my bagel and I don't trust the little notes section in the mobile order to be read. The staff here is delightful, smiling and enthusiastically taking my order. I always get a BEC with no cheese, add avocado. "Johnny, you get a Bacon Egg and Cheese with no cheese?" Yeah I do because I am an individual with personal preference and the avocado gives the soft texture to make up for lack of cheese. Stop hatin. Also add some hot sauce or ketchup and it's immaculate. I waited about 5 minutes at one of the many tables in this place, among a few people jamming away at their laptops with their noise canceling headphones on. My anxiety of "damn i should be working too" set in and I whipped out my phone to begin writing this review. After typing and deleting the first sentence 3 times, my name was called. Great service. My BEC no cheese and add avocado was good as they provided ample bacon and like 2 FULL eggs. The only thing was I asked for it toasted and it didn't seem toasted. God I feel like a Karen even typing that, but I do love my everything bagel toasted crispy. I also think my expectations are F'd up from NYC bagels, as that has become my standard. Black Seed Bagels really just performs on a different level. Best bagels in nyc by a mile dont @ me. All in all, I love the Bagel Place and will be back. And what a GREAT name honestly. "Where'd you get that from?" ... "Oh yeah it's heat! I got it from the Bagel Place!" ahahaha I love that name. I want to open a restaurant one day called "The Chicken Spot." STRAIGHT AMAZING BAGELS. A little pricey for the sandwiches - but they hit the spot. We ordered the: - Hummus Sandwich on an Onion bagel toasted - Whitefish Salad sandwich on an everything bagel - Chicken Salad on and everything bagel (has dill in it, I loved it, but there should be some sort of disclaimer for people) These are pictured below. All had pickles on them, and were fresh fresh. *****our only advice is that you all need some sort of pickled hot peppers as a topping, or hot pepper relish maybe. Something vinegary, to combine the flavors on some sandwiches. <3 *****

Looking for a bagel spot in Queens Village this is it! So many bagel offerings you're bound to find something you like or try something new. I got a toasted bacon, egg and cheese on wheat. It tastes good, but whatever brand of bacon they use is a bit salty, which is why I get it on wheat instead of my usual ET bagel. They have ample seating and a cool book to sit and relax.

INCREDIBLE! Bacon egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel was sooooo good. The place was pretty crowded but we didn't have a long wait at all.

I can't say anything about the actual store, since I was only able to doordash from them, but I ordered a couple times when I was in town and both times were consistent. I ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich and the prosciutto sandwich as well as plain bagels with cream cheese. The bagels were warm and fresh, and all the taste flavors meshed well together.

Okay I LOVE the bagel place, I think it's cute, the location is great, always service with a smile, and I would love to come spend half a day working here from their comfy lounge area. But I had to knock a star off because their bagels really are hit or miss. Sometimes they're fresh, soft, not too chewy, and perfectly toasted. Other times my jaw pops out of place hammering on them. That being said, I LOVE their sando options. I am a huge fan of the lox cream cheese for a group, and my go-to individual sando is a toasted everything w/ jalapeño lime cream cheese, bacon, and red onions. And, I always grab a bag of salmon skins for my pupper.

It's a very good place. Good bagel sandwiches, good coffee - but- bathroom could be much cleaner.

I stumbled upon this place due to me having to pick up someone's order. As you open the door the smell of fresh bagels smacks you in the face, I'm not sure how you could pass on ordering. No matter if you order in person or over the phone they are always fast and respectful. If you needed a place to study or surf the web they have a lot of open tables to do so, just bring your laptop!

This is the best bagel spot in Philly! Many options to choose from. The bagel is perfect. Toasted or not. Soft bread. My favs: monte cristo, egg and cheese, and croque madame, and the lox special. Comes consistent every time and quick service. No disrespect to NY bagels but this spot is better.

This is a very pleasant establishment with friendly, helpful staff and very good, if somewhat pricey bagels. However their coffee is WORSE than it was a year ago. It remains really horrible. I had some last week and both my friend and I remarked how awful it was. Such a pity.

Ordered takeout. We got the Matzoh ball soup and some bagels. The Matzoh ball soup was good and we really enjoyed the scallion spread. The bagels have a nice chewy texture and great flavor. Would recommend!

Egg salad is an underrated bagel topping, and this one was really really good! Pickle cream cheese was more dill than pickle. Rosemary bagel was excellent. Appreciate the vegan option!

Second time I've been here - quality food and quality service every time! Parking was available both times I went, they had a lot of orders coming through so people must know how good they are! I had just a plain bagel the first time but black pepper and rosemary was so good! Picture came too late!

Went here at prime brunch time, 11am on a Sunday. Unsurprisingly it was packed. The bagels were really good! My boyfriend has brought them home from here before but this was my first time eating in the restaurant. There were plenty of tables but they were all packed so we had to borrow a chair from another table, which seems to be fairly standard. There were some large groups that seemed to be monopolizing most of the seating (and letting kids run wild and use scooters in the restaurant... what?). He got a breakfast sandwich, I got a tuna melt and our friend got a bagel with cream cheese. We were all very happy with our meals though mine might have gotten slightly over-toasted. It didn't affect the flavor. I want to go back on a weekday when it's slightly less hectic.

We had bagels delivered and they were very fresh and delicious! The strawberry and veggie spreads were fantastic - definitely made fresh. We will definitely get bagels from here again.

Had great pick up and dine in breakfast sandwich experiences here! The sandwiches are so delicious and the egg to cheese to meat ratio is solid. They're so kind inside which I appreciate in addition to the spacious dining area.

One of my QV go-to spots! The bagels are great, the wait is usually pretty short, and there are tons of bagel and spread options to choose from. Order online to make it even easier!

The Bagel Place is a clear neighborhood favorite - with good reason. The bagels have a lighter texture, with a pleasant chew, nice flavor and a decent crust. The spread selection is interesting and the one I chose, pickled cream cheese, was tasty and unique. Though the place was pretty busy, most people were doing pickup and seating was ample and well-spaced. The only issue we ran into was the 15 minute gap between the time it took for my order to come out and for my dining partner's bagel to come out. We understood that his involved cooking eggs and bacon, but I honestly would have preferred if both of ours were prepared and sent out at the same time - my bagel had cooled down completely and lost the slight crisp from the toasting by the time we were both able to eat our bagels together. Overall, I'd recommend coming for the simpler things and skipping the more involved menu items if the place looks busy - the bagels and spreads are good enough to speak for themselves without the added cooked components.

These are my favorite bagels in Philly, hands down. They are always so fresh and baked perfectly. The pretzel bagel is my favorite followed by the everything bagel. Their delivery is quick and perfect for when you can't make it to the shop. Their staff is nice too!

Ordered a plan bagel toasted with lox and cream cheese online. Took a bite and the bagel wasn't toasted and was rubbery and the whole sandwich fell apart. I called and the person I spoke to was very nice and gracious and offered to replace or refund. I opted for replace because I was hungry. The second sandwich arrived, and the bagel was just so chewy and rubbery the whole sandwich fell apart again although they did clearly toast it. And they threw in a free cookie with an apology. If it only cost me $5 I would scratch it as a loss but that thing cost me $20. So, in summary, good people, terrible bagels. 2 stars for good customer service.

Baguette was perfect. Crusty outside, airy inside. Jalapeño croissant was exceptionally tasty. Recommend!

If you are looking for a good bagel, please grab one from here. They have a great variety of bagels and spreads to choose from. I grabbed their blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese and a La Colombe iced coffee. The bagel was delicious and I loved the fresh Strawberries in the cream cheese. There's also plenty of out door and indoor seating if you're looking to dine-in. Will definitely come back for a cozy remote work day outside of my home.

This sandwich is pretty good. It is very filling off of the first half, so it can be a shareable sandwich. They sell out of the type of bagel you may want pretty quickly. I'm a tourist so this was pretty good.

I ordered a bagel egg and cheese with bacon. My order came with rotten Avocado. There is no excuse for this whatsoever. I pulled it out but it's still so disgusting I didn't eat the sandwich. I also walked 6 or 7 blocks to get this disaster breakfast.

Hands down the best bagels in Philadelphia. I've tried bagels from many of the popular locations, but like these the best. They have the texture I expect. Korshak makes good bagels, and the people there are very nice, but I just think these are better. Talia's on Girard also makes good bagels, and I like the spreads there. Philly Style Bagels in Fishtown was my least favorite (see my negative review). I've also had bagels from NYC. The ones from Zabar's were a big disappointment. Russ and Daughters had great bagels, but you have to wait in an agonizingly long line to get them. The Bagel Place is your best bet in this area.

I'm not exactly sure why I had such a hard and persistent bagel craving whilst I was in Philidelphia... but I can tell you that I didn't just happen upon this bagel place. I sought it out in a similar fashion to an addict seeking out his next fix. It's one of the highest rated bagel places in Philidelphia, and for good reason. The bagels are delicious, the service is fantastic, the place is clean as a whistle, and that matzo ball soup #PlacesOpenPalmOnChestAndLooksAway. Man that matzo ball soup. That matzo ball soup gives my matzo ball soup a run for it's money, and then snatches its wig! I kept sipping at it and trying to figure out what was in it... being like... my matzo soup will become better if I can figure out what herbs/spices I'm tasting. Dang Honeychild! I got a bagel with everything on the side. I'm very methodical about my bagel set up. Gotta get the cream cheese on the side if you're toasting your bagel. And you should ALWAYS toast your bagel; brings the bagel to life. If you have them put it on, the cream cheese starts melting and all because you need to wait for it to cool down from the toaster. Also, I like getting some whitefish salad, tomatoes, and if I'm feeling indulgent (swiss cheese) on the side. That's Mike's perfect bagel. Everything toasted bagel, scallion cream cheese on top, white fish salad, then tomato, then swiss cheese. I know what you're saying. That's a lot of cheese. Well of course it is... we're going for perfection - not just greatness. Everything here was super fresh. I would go back in a heartbeat when I find myself in Philadelphia again. Also a great place to work! They have wifi and a good deal of space. In a really cute neighborhood too!

The bagels are good, but the real winners here are the soups. The French onion (they have it every once in a while) is excellent and is filled with bread and cheese; a little expensive but a nice treat. And the matzoh ball soup (an every day item) is the best I've had yet in Philly. The chicken enchilada soup (occasionally available) is pretty good as well. Very friendly staff, great vibes/ambience, and good hot chocolate! The french toast bagel isn't great, but I'm very particular about french toast bagels so I won't hold that against them.

That is one delicious bagel! Flavorful, nice exterior crunch and soft crumb...wow. I hoped it would be good...i was surprised by how delicious it was. Got it with garlic chive cream cheese which had a nice garlic bite-love that! Its a little pricey-$8 for a bagel and iced coffee. At that price its not something i could do all the time but an every now and then indulgence for sure

A nice, neighborhood delight! I love myself some good bagels, and this place delivered and left me feeling very satisfied. We ordered: Everything bagel, Egg bagel, Veggie spread, and Garlic & Chive spread. We easily placed the order online, and picked it up at the side window, as indicated by large signs around the establishment. The whole process was simple and quick. The staff were friendly and seemingly followed all the necessary safety precautions. Afterwards, we made our way home to toast and enjoy the fresh, soft bagels-- we couldn't wait! From the taste and look, their spreads seem to be homemade and fresh, but most importantly-- DELICIOUS!!! The spreads outshined the bagels, just a tad. I like my bagels with a little more chewy, goodness. However, still well worth it, and had me licking the spread containers clean LOL Overall, The Bagel Place is a great, local joint with the goods to back it up Can't wait to go back!

I stayed on S 4th St .. just a few blocks from the Bagel Place for a night before heading back to Boston. I did a mobile order because of time crunch. Picked up my order and everything was still warm/hot even though it was 15-20 mins after my promised pick up time. Everything was placed in the bag nice and neat; spread on the bottom, bagels (half dozen) in the middle and all the sandwiches were on top. The sandwiches were pre-cut and nicely double wrapped (thanks for this, it's the little details that counts!) Warning: the pretzel bagel is on the saltier side and I didn't think about that when I ordered it with eggs&cheese + bacon (I also ordered avocado with this but didn't get it). The combination was too salty for me. It was too late for me to turn back. Overall, the bagels were great as people reviewed: not too doughy, nicely toasted & still chewable. The place looked clean and it was nice seeing staff making the bagels when I was picking up my order. I wanted to try their French toast bagel but it was sold out. Some of the lunch sandwiches look so good also.

Did the walk up window and placed an order for 4 bagel sandwiches. I was surprised at how busy this spot was for a weekday. Lots of people picking up orders. Which I do recommend call ahead just because we did wait about 20 minutes for our order by just walking up. We got a pretzel bagel, pumpernickel, everything and plain. All the bagels were good. All but 1 with scrabbled eggs. The other was a fried egg that was over cooked. I think it was probably ok when it first came out but Bc they wrapped it all up to go it continued to cook and be over cooked. Overall we were all satisfied with the bagels. They were good and chewy. The pretzel bagel with bacon and cheese ate a bit salty but I think that was Bc of the salty nature of bacon and cheese and more of me ordering issue then a them issue. In our 3 days in town we ate here twice. Would recommend.

I'm somewhat of a bagel snob and this is the only bagel place in Philadelphia I have tried thus far that deserves some serious praise. Hailing from NJ, some mornings I just need a pork roll, egg and cheese on a bagel. I have tried many places in the city that just don't understand how to cook pork roll or the bagel is simply disappointing. The Bagel Place nails the cook and has soft, delicious bagels! I'm pretty certain this is the only place I'll be ordering bagels and breakfast sandwiches from now on. My hungover weekend mornings thank The Bagel Place from the bottom of our heart!

Bagels and sandwiches are great coffee is not so good. You would think a bagel shop would have great coffee but it tastes watery and cheap.

There are no better bagels in the city of Philadelphia!!!! This is the best Kept secret- don't go here, those of us who live in Queen Village want it all for ourselves! The everything bagel with cream cheese simply CAN NOT BE BEAT. So much better than Korshaik, so much better then Knead, so much better than Jon's, so much better then Philly bagels! There is so where better!!!!!

There's a new BAGEL PLACE in town and I feel it's worthy of a try...or two, or three, or perhaps just go visit on the regular. I heard about these new water/honey bagels in town which are said to be comparable to NYC bagels and being a self-confessed bagel snob and former NYC resident, I just HAD to try them out and see for myself.... I'm going to go ahead and say, while I'm not sure they're exactly NY bagels (which who says they're trying to be anyway), they're definitely not like other bagels you would find in Philly and for that reason alone, you must head over here! Oh, and the promise of La Colombe, hot or iced doesn't hurt either. These bad boys are large, but on the thinner side like a Montreal bagel, just not quite as crispy. I prefer to have mine toasted for more of a crunch rather than a chew, but that's a personal preference. You'll have to try and find out if you feel you need this one toasted, but don't give up if you opt to go non-toasted on your first go. My lightly toasted everything was rather delicious and covered nicely with toppings. My daughter said her fresh, not toasted sesame was a bit chewy but still "a 4.5 stars". The options here are incredible! Not just the variety of bagels such as pretzel, basil pesto, rosemary and cracked pepper, but the spreads too! Some standouts are lemon poppyseed, sour pickle, honey walnut, bleu cheese and rosemary. Oh, and salads like deviled egg salad, whitefish and shrimp too. Vegans, they didn't forget about you! They have hummus and Tofutti, and a roasted portobello option also. But remember veg-heads, depending on how deep your beliefs are, these bagels may not be for you as they use honey in ALL of their bagels! They offer a decent variety of both lunch and breakfast bagel sammies and that's exactly what I tried... Smoked beets! Say what? Beets and the proper accompaniments (Swiss, garlic dill sauerkraut, russian dressing, cornichon) to make a vegetarian Rueben! How creative! Since I'm a dairy-free gal, I opted for the sammy sans dressing and cheese and I must say, while it was flavorful and definitely very interesting and appreciated, I kept imagining how much better it would have been the way they intended with all of the toppings. Torn with this one. I'm headed for the hummus next visit. We felt right at home with all of the classic Jewish deli treats like matzoh balls, bialys, rugalach, mondel bread, babka and of course a can of Dr. Browns. Now those options made me feel like I was in LES, Manhattan. The kiddos shared a slice of babka, the chocolate not raisin, but of course. It seemed soft, not dry and was filled with chocolate. A few reasons besides the food that made me really fall for this spot is that they care.... -They support local artists! And not just any artist but ones who even donated their earnings to worthy causes. The art for sale on the walls will change every two months and anyone looking to showcase, they encourage you to contact them. -They have bins for not only trash and recycling but for composting also! -Ramp access for strollers, wheelchairs or walkers. -The music! I walked in to "Into The Mystic" by Van Morrison and almost cried on the spot. From then on it was Cream, CCR, and a bunch of singable 70's tunes I loved! The clean, open space is rather large especially for a bagel joint. I can't imagine even for a weekend brunch rush it wouldn't be terribly hard to find a seat, even with a family. It also seems like a nice place to duck out and get some work done as well. The seating is carefully designed using every inch of the space and adding wrap around benches. My only suggestion would perhaps be a few outdoor tables?! Prices are fair. Service was friendly. 2 hours no cost street parking was a cinch. Bike parking was available also. We will absolutely be back and know this place isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Welcome!

The Bagel Place is a great option for either breakfast or lunch. Both the space and the food are clean and bright. It's an easy space to be in, and have a conversation or do some writing. The lox special is a particular standout...none of the cheap ends of the fish...all quality stuff. It comes with all the proper accompaniments: capers, red onion, cream cheese...yep. The smoked turkey is also better than many of the greasy sandwich options for lunch, and the cubano is not as weird on a bagel as you may think. And you're only looking at the $10-15 range for a nice lunch and a coffee (la Colombe, of course). Don't hesitate to give it a shot.

So excited to have these guys on my block! Obviously already overdosed on bagels the first opening month. I love the sandwiches, which after talking to Ringo, is obvious hat these bagels are for eating bagel sammiches! Because that's his fave jawn. Already tried the whole sandwich board. All excellent but my fave as usual is the everything bagel lox special with scallion cream cheese. I'm pretty sure my husband sneaks in visits way more than I do. Finding a good breakfast sandwich place in Philly is extremely difficult but after finding this spot last year I haven't looked elsewhere. So delicious, the bagels are super soft and fluffy. The staff is always very nice - 10/10 recommend. My only complaint is the price, but to be entirely honest for a mom&pop shop and the fact that center city severely lacks in good bagel shops, I'll continue to pay it. But if it was a smidge cheaper I'd go daily

I'm fairly new to Philadelphia, but this is definitely my favorite bagel place and I've tried quite a few. Their bagels are great quality and texture and they have a good selection of spreads (sour pickle is great!). I typically just do a bagel with cream cheese but their Butternut Squash bagel sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've had, and I really enjoy the Hummus Veggie sandwich as well. I also really like their ordering and pickup system AND the fact that they have dog treats available for purchase! Always friendly service too.
