Build-Your-Own Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich Chain Baked Bear Arrives This Month | Eater DC

"Opening its first East Coast outpost this month at North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose development, Baked Bear — founded by childhood friends Rob Robbins and Shane Stanger that got its start in a San Diego strip mall in 2013 — will open Saturday, May 19 at 929 Rose Avenue. The new 900-square-foot shop will serve fresh-baked cookies, doughnuts, and brownies combined with ice cream and assorted toppings, and offers a rotating “cookie of the month” (Mexican hot chocolate in May and Reese’s Cup cashew in June). The brand has been expanding into Austin and other states, though a spokesperson says no details are currently available about additional area locations. A grand opening party is scheduled for 1 p.m. on May 19 with free ice cream sandwiches for the first 300 people in line plus other goodies." - Tierney Plumb

Google
Amazing experience. We recently held a Nellis Group ice cream event at this location. Kevin is a great owner and very flexible to help everyone have a great time. The smells and food are amazing. Love the options and choices. The variety is fun and of course the ice cream sandwiches are divine. Do yourself a favor and make this your sweet treat this week!!

Google
The best ice cream in the area! I’d definitely recommend their ‘Bear Batter’, so good! The cookies were amazing, they were a little too rich for me, but the bites I had were delicious, I’d definitely recommend getting the cookie warmed. The staff were very patient and helpful as well! Came to get dessert after celebrating a birthday, and it was the perfect way to end the day! Will definitely be coming back in the future.

Google
PLEASE do yourself a favor and try this place out. Both the cookies & ice cream are out of this world, best ice cream shop in the DMV! PLEASE OPEN A LOCATION IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA

Baked bear has always been the best and must-try try icecream. Their consistency is really good , and it is extremely filling. Everyone should try it.

I felt like a big kid in here!!!! Some much to choose from! It was my first time here, and the customer service was great, the young lady helped me build my ice cream sandwiches with customer favorites! Gooey bear cookie (bottom) Snickerdoodle cookie (top) Raspberry crumble (pie crust inside) ice cream 1/2 scoop French vanilla ice cream 1/2 scoop Warmed to perfection!!! I loved every moment of this! There will be a next time very soon!

Google
My new favorite dessert place! The customer service is wonderful and everything I’ve tried here is delicious! We loved the brownies, but my favorite is 2 chocolate chip cookies with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream in between. Cannot get enough of it! Not a ton of room to sit, but a cute place. You’ll need to park on the street or at a garage and walk, but it’s a nice area.

Google
I absolutely loved this delightful place. Very nice customer service for the first time visiting. The guy allowed me to taste diff flavors of ice cream and gave me how it works. I admit I was a little too excited!! Did two diff flavors of cookies 🍪 😋. Omg the best!! Please come to Sterling VA!!!

Google
Great ice cream sandwiches in the area and an enjoyable place to get a dessert! A lot of cookie, ice cream, and topping options. It’s pretty big and filling. The staff was so nice and offered to let us try the ice cream flavors. They offer indoor seating which is a huge plus!

Yelp
My advice...make sure your belly is empty! I was craving an ice-cream sandwich and found this on a search. I came around 8pm on a Monday and it was pretty packed. I got two different cookies (the butter cake and chocolate chip) with cookie dough ice cream, caramel and toffee pieces. It was huge and the ultimate indulgence. The butter cake cookie had an artificial taste that I didn't care for but the ice-cream sandwich as a whole was a 9/10. My only other con would be that the ice cream selection felt limited, either the ice-cream flavors were doing too much or too little and there was no happy medium. I would definitely go with someone next time and split it because it was hard to finish.

Yelp
People like this place, and I guess I agree. It is such a fun concept, but boy, if you're getting an ice cream sandwich, be ready for it. The serving size is one size only: triple extra large. It was amazing though, as I often have eyes bigger than my stomach, so I was very happy. After eating this ice cream sandwich, I was full beyond belief. You get your money's worth for sure, because this is house-made goodness and lots of it. That being said, most people will probably go and have ice cream or an ice cream sandwich or cookies as dessert after you just had dinner, so, be ready for the portion of a giant double-cookie ice cream sandwich. If you have a normal appetite, you may just want to share with someone or just order ice cream and get the cookies to go, just saying. The flavors offered are all amazing, it's hard to narrow done unless you have dietary restrictions, then it's much easier. They have gluten free cookies (chocolate chip and fudge brownie) and ice cream (vanilla, vegan chocolate chip, mint chip, dark chocolate), along with a whole bunch more traditional cookies and ice cream. You can get a sundae, a bear bowl (cookie in a bowl with ice cream on top), and just ice cream or just cookies. So, you really can't go wrong here if you are hankering for ice cream or cookies. The place is small though, so in the summery and warmer months, don't anticipate sitting comfortably inside an air-conditioned space to eat your delicious frozen dessert. However, there is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your frozen delight. The parking is that of Pike & Rose, so just plan accordingly. Prices are fair for a boutique ice cream and cookie shop - you get what you pay for here. It's worth it!

Yelp
Wow! I was thrilled to see the menu had vegan and gluten free options. .. Clean, very busy atmosphere and deliscious..
google avatar

A'Yanna E.

Yelp
Yelpie friend introduced me to this tasty place after an Elite event and dinner hangout. So delicious! Love that the cookies are hot. Love the flavor choices for both the cookies and the ice cream. It was so busy and no seating. Nice that they serve water free bcus it's obviously a very sweet treat. Go, enjoy!

Yelp
I'm a COOKIE MONSTER!!!!! I have an unhealthy obsession with cookies. This place did not disappoint. The variety of options and the cookies I had so far were good. I ordered a dozen (variety) and have eaten 3 so far. Service: very quick, nice, and he gave me a taste of the gluten-free ice-cream. I chose to still pass on it. Ambiance was super cool with a Gen-Z tone. It's a small place and a bit challenging to find because it's in the interior part. The Ramen place is right next to it. The activity there was distracting me from finding The Baked Bear. I would go back; however knowing me, I will most likely opt for a new spot because I enjoy exploring new spots. Yelp
Solid ice cream, I don't live close but have been eyeing this place for a bit so stopped by with a friend. Neither of us were hungry enough for their famous ice cream sandwiches, but got regular ice cream - we both sampled a couple flavors before each landing on mud pie. It was good, honestly not super special; the flavor itself was very rich, I couldn't finish it. Great portion though and definitely reasonably priced for the area! I'll stop by again when I'm hungrier for an ice cream sandwich.

Megumi M.

Yelp
A great treat for a sweet tooth! The North Bethesda location is small but they have an outside window that is convenient for placing and picking up orders. They have a variety of cookies and ice cream flavors. Service has always been quick and helpful if you need some suggestions!
google avatar

Clara S.

Yelp
Super super sweet!! Good to grab a quick bite when you're craving a sweet tooth. Service is fast and ambiance is casual. There's not many places to sit, so better to order the cookie to go.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream sandwiches. Maybe that isn't the saying but hey! We came in when it wasn't busy and promptly served by the two young men tonight willingly to give us all the details of this place and offer their suggestions. We decided to go with two ice cream sandwiches. Honestly you might be able to share one between two people but yolo. Cookies and ice cream were delish and the staff was great. Kind of small place but there are a couple of tables available to sit and enjoy.
google avatar

Kristine P.

Yelp
That gooey cake cookie with the scoop of ice cream on top is what sweet dreams are made of (yes I did). I crave this place from time to time and it's def worth a try!
google avatar

Jewel B.

Yelp
My friends and I were looking for some really good cookies and ice cream. My bestfriend had been here before and recommended us going to The Baked Bear. We all got ice cream sandwiches because it was a better buy ($8.50) rather than getting a scoop of ice cream and trying two cookies. Parking is really good and if you are there 0-2 hours parking is free. When we first walked up the line was out the door but the line moved really quickly and the workers were patient & nice ! It also smelt soooo inside. We got: Chocolate chip & White macadamia nut cookie w/ cookies & cream ice cream (mine) Chocolate Chip Cookies w/ Cookie Dough Ice Cream (bestie's) Brownie at the bottom & chocolate chip on top w/ s'mores ice cream (gf). Overall cookies were bomb asf! But it was a lot, we could not eat all of it.
google avatar

Yelp
Great tears and nice people. Pike and Rose sucks like any other of these fake mall things but a place to get ice cream and chat with people in the evening is really nice. Too expensive to do a lot
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest fan of ice cream since I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I'll gladly come back here. I ordered the Blackberry Crumble (I think that was the name) ice cream and a Cinnamon Toast Crunch cookie--both were delicious and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. What really stood out, though, was the incredible service. The staff were so kind and welcoming that I genuinely want to return just to support them. I wish I had gotten the name of the kind lady who helped me--she truly made my day. The inside is a little tight, but cute! What makes this location great is the lawn right outside + tables for outdoor seating. There are plenty of garages and lots to park, all paid. The garages by H&M and Uniqlo fill up fast so I would recommend trying the lots first. First two hours are free!

Yelp
What a fun treat! Loved the gluten free options. Definitely big enough to share but yummy enough not to want to!

Yelp
Thursday 10/26/23 The last time I had the baked bear was in 2021 and I remember getting 2 ice cream sandwiches: one with cookies n cream ice cream in between brownies and another with cookies n cream ice cream between cookies n cream cookies. Both of the sandwiches I had were pretty good but the brownie sandwich was my favorite. It's been awhile so I decided to run it back. I got a hot pressed Browniewich for $8.45 (brownie & cookies n cream ice cream) and a hot pressed Cookiewich for $8.25 (top cookies n cream cookie, cookies n cream ice cream, bottom chocolate chip cookie). The ice cream sandwiches were decent but not as good as I remember. The cookies n cream ice cream was okay, the brownies were very thin and underwhelming (likely due to being hot pressed), and the cookies were solid. The baked bear is a cool spot with a unique concept that I could see a lot of people enjoying but it's just solid for me, there's plenty of other ice cream spots I'd much rather go to.

Yelp
Very pleased with my cookie ice cream sandwich! There were many options to choose from and all sounded delicious. I will be back to try more!

Yelp
I came here for dessert and I can say I was very pleased with how my dessert came out. Their ice cream is very good and their cookies are phenomenal. The cookies are crispy and crunchy on the outside as well as soft and gooey on the inside. Customer service was great and quick with my order. The workers were very nice and understanding. The interior was great and clean, not much seating inside at all but I can't blame them because there are 2 places right beside it. There is outside seating that makes up for it. Although the food is great and the inside is clean, there aren't many ice cream flavors or cookie flavors. There are only a few toppings and their ice cream isn't as good as other places I have tried. If you want a good treat/dessert come to this place!
google avatar

Anne-Olive N.

Yelp
Day old cookies for half the price?? Sign me up. I'm a fan of their cookies - soft and fresh. The cookies and creme is my personal favorite. Nice to have a place to stop by in pike and rose for a sweet treat
google avatar

Salomon F.

Yelp
The baked bear was not what I expected it to be! Ordered a brownie with a single scoop of cookies & cream with whipped cream and fudge. Brownie was warmed per my request, making this treat so much better! Service team was very friendly! There was a huge line of people waiting to order despite it being about 40 degrees. People were standing around outside chatting and having a good time and eating ice cream with coats on. Defined recommend!
google avatar

Stephen J.

Yelp
I love great customer service and patience while I contemplate my order, at a new spot for me to try. The vegan Chocalate Chip ice cream and the snickerdoodle cookie were tasty. The oat milk based ice cream was worth it. My only complaint is there are not enough vegan ice cream flavors (two total). Treat yourself!
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
The Baked Bear is a great spot for those who love the classic combo of cookies and ice cream. The service is always quick and efficient and they've mastered the art of pairing freshly baked cookies with a tempting selection of ice cream flavors. If you're feeling a bit adventurous, give the brownie bowl a try - it might not be the first thing on your radar, but it's a hidden gem. The only downside is the limited space; when it's warm they don't typically offer indoor seating and ordering but when the weather turns chilly they do open up the inside. Not an every day thing but really good for a once in a while treat.
google avatar

Gabriela R.

Yelp
Service is bad here. To sum it up, it seems like it's run by teenagers who are annoyed you ordered something. They aren't warm, friendly, or communicative. The butter cookie was yummy, but the chocolate chip cookie was rock hard. How do you explain this to a little one, as they try to chomp on it? The ice cream flavors weren't impressive, and I have honestly had better at Baskin or Marble Slab. And that's saying something. Can't sit inside. Do with this info what you will.

Yelp
Baked Bear Catering is amazing! We hired them as the dessert bar for our son's Bar Mitzvah and everyone loved it! Melanie was overall fantastic to work with. She was very accommodating with the venue on details, helpful with creating the menu and she and her staff were friendly and helpful throughout the event. Thank you Baked Bear for making our party unforgettable!
google avatar

Yelp
We got 2 Vegan Cookie Sandwich (Gluten-Free) with the vegan vanilla with chocolate chip ice cream and 2 Custom Ice Cream Sandwich ( Gooey Butter Cake Cookies and Nutella cookie w/ toasted s'more ice cream and cookie dough) . It was SOOO GOOD!!!! The person that helped us pick the flavors was the absolute best!! He was very patient and knew what he was talking about and got us right! The store was chill and cute aesthetics .

Yelp
Visited twice on our recent trip to Bethesda. Located in a super cute shopping center right next to amazing ramen. If you eat dinner first, skip dessert and come here. If you are vegan, they have a vegan cookie and vegan ice cream. They are stored and scooped separately (with a separate dairy free labeled scoop) so could work for allergies too. The vegan ice cream was delicious. Rich and creamy with great flavor. The vegan chocolate chip cookie was also delicious. Couldn't even tell it was vegan. A non vegan in our party had the macadamia nut cookie which was delicious and the cake batter cookie which was rich, soft and divine. The cake batter cookie may not make the best ice cream sandwich unless you are ok eating it with a spoon because it is so soft, but for flavor alone it's amazing.
google avatar

Hammed A.

Yelp
Overall not a bad experience. I visited midday and was disappointed that quite a few of the popular cookies were either sold out or not being sold on this day. The choices of ice cream were also limited. To my surprise the ice cream cookie sandwiches were served in a cup as opposed to in the traditional fashion that is without a cup. Regarding the flavor factor, I ordered a Chocolate Brownie Sundae and Cookie Monster cookie ice cream sandwich. While they both were good I can't say after the first visit that it is commensurate to the price. Staff were pleasant and courteous however the speed of service could be better. I'd definitely visit again and more likely early after opening during the week. Hopefully most of the cookie and ice cream flavors will be available. Give them a try and see what you think.
google avatar

Yelp
My new favorite ice cream joint!! When I saw that this place is known for their Bear Batter which is like Cookie Monster ice cream, I had to come try it out. My boyfriend and I came right before closing and I was afraid with the long line, we wouldn't make it, but thankfully, they are very quick and efficient. I got the ice cream sandwich with Chocolate Chip & White Chocolate Macadamia as my cookie options and the Bear Batter ice cream of course. It was so yummy! It was about $8 but for the portion, it wasn't bad. My boyfriend and I shared one and that was good for the both of us. I also love that their logo has a polar bear because those are my favorite. I'll definitely be back here! :)

Yelp
The baked bear, as the name suggests, is not your average ice cream shop. They have a selection of handmade ice creams to choose from. From there you can have a number of toppings to choose from and have it served in a cup or cone. What separates them is that you can also have your ice cream sandwich made with their homemade cookies. If you like, the cookies can be warm. It is as luxurious an ice cream experience as I have ever found. Foodies should definitely add The Baked Bear to their must try list. Do come hungry! A word of caution; the portions are very large. My wife and I got single scoop cups and we found them as large as double-scoops elsewhere. The ice cream San who he's are also very large and served in a unique, but appropriate container. We found the service very good and patient, explaining all the options to customers. There are many fine dining options at Pike and Rose and The Baked Bear should be included on that list. The ice cream is so good and the helpings so large, you may want to make it your first stop, not your last.
google avatar

Jasmine K.

Yelp
ORDER: single scoop s'mores ice cream. My friend got the macadamia nut cookie ice cream sandwich. Be warned these portions are HUGE... I'd say that the single scoop here is equivalent to a double scoop anywhere else. My ice cream was good, nothing that I would crave in all honesty. In regards to the cookie ice cream sandwich- I understand they heat the cookie up but unless you eat it within the first minute of receiving, wouldn't the cookie get rock hard bc of the ice cream?? I didn't see anyone complaining about that in their review but my friend definitely brought it to my attention. SERVICE- was good window service. AMBIANCE- they have seats outside all around.
google avatar

Nichole L.

Yelp
Came here for a post-ramen snack. This place is a casual spot and the employees were quite energetic even at night.
google avatar

Stella K.

Yelp
The ice cream sandwich is quite large. It's definitely shareable. I like how the ice cream isn't super super sweet. Not sure what the prices are as they didn't seem to be listed but I paid $8.75 for mine. There is no indoor seating because the ice cream is being served through the window, but you can easily find outdoor seating nearby
google avatar

Sabrina G.

Yelp
I love well my family and I love the baked bear. Couldn't get a photo today because of the weather but! I got an ice cream sandwich with their two cookies of the month the blueberry and lemon cookie with the cookie and cheesecake ice cream! It was spectacular! My oldest got the brownie bowl with cookie dough ice cream I believe and he demolished it in five seconds . I got my wife and youngest son a treat since they couldn't attend the field trip . The service is all way top tier! You have serviced at a window and they only take cards. I drive 45 minutes to an hour for this goodness! If you haven't been you need to go NOW!
google avatar

Carly G.

Yelp
As a gluten allergy girlie, finding a cookie ice cream sandwich made my entire vacation!!! 10/10 service and cookie and seating area. Couldn't recommend more!
google avatar

RrrV R.

Yelp
Not quite a pint Oh. My. Gosh. I paid $11.00 for a so-called pint of ice cream that's not even filled to the brim! And the flavor is mediocre. That's right. I expected the tub to be packed for the price I paid but it isn't. You can actually see air pockets. And the $2.50 brownie is thin and I'm missing a corner! I swear, I've never seen a thinner brownie in my life! Not even from an Easy Bake Oven. The flavor is good but seriously the size is less than 1/2 inch thick! Yep, I measured it. I could have gotten a thicker one at 711 for the cost and change back. I'm soooo disappointed. I do NOT recommend this place if you want your money's worth for a pint.
google avatar

Carolina S.

Yelp
We love good ice cream and this place never disappoints! We love getting the brownie cookie combo and last time I added Nutella, it was so good! Even in the freezing cold and the fact that you can't go inside I still say it's totally worth it! Can't wait until it really warms up so we can enjoy it outside instead of in the car lol We do try to sit by the fire pit next door but in the 20-30 degree weather we don't last long.
google avatar

Antonio C.

Yelp
Their ice cream is a bit overrated but what they put it with, like the brownies and cookies, make it worth it if you want something Bear themed.

Shay F.

Yelp
The icecream sandwich was sweet and like a sugar bomb in your mouth. I got the gooey cookie and it is by far the best thing I've ate ever. It was soft and sweet. I have a sweet tooth so the combo I had was so good. I also loved that we can warm our sandwich which made me excited. The size of the icecream sandwich is definitely worth the price . I feel that you can even share one sandwich with someone haha I definitely recommend this place if you really love sweets! Only thing I'd say is that it is overwhelming as a first timer in knowing the process of what to choose.
google avatar

Ellie D.

Yelp
What a fun dessert place! They have a variety of cookie flavors and ice cream options. You can choose two of the same cookie or two different kinds of cookies when making your sandwich. I'd recommend getting your sandwich hot pressed. It keeps the cookies softer and gets the ice cream ready to eat. I tried the Gooey Butter Cake for one of my cookies and really liked it. I believe the other cookie I tried was one of their seasonal ones, maybe Red Velvet, but I don't exactly recall. I do remember enjoying it though! For the ice cream middle I chose dark chocolate and was quite happy. I wish we were allowed to taste test flavors, but alas (you *miiiight* be able to taste test just one flavor, but I could be confusing this place with another. Guess I'll have to go back to find out, what a bummer ).
google avatar

Hazel C.

Yelp
Super friendly service and good ice cream! I ordered a single scoop on a cone and didn't realize how big it was. The young man who handed my ice cream to me gave me a cup without me asking, seeing how my fast my ice cream was melting in the 90°F heat. Totally saved me from having ice cream all over my hands! Lol Go to the window on the right to order, and pay and pick up at the window to you left. They are only taking cards, no cash, for payment. They have ice cream sandwiches too with a variety of cookie options.
google avatar

Adrienne K.

Yelp
Take a friend, the portions are GIGANTIC!! What an amazing find, with the help of Yelp, of course. LOL! You can't go wrong with any dessert you choose. My son & I both wanted an ice cream sandwich but had no idea they would each be the size of a small planet!! Hahaha. The cookie was soft with a little chew, and the ice cream was fantastic. With an enormous variety of flavors, there is something for everyone. From brownie sundaes to a simple scoop on a cone! HIGHLY RECOMMENDING!
google avatar

Blake B.

Yelp
Best place to hang out and to work at! My favorite is a Blackberry Crumble ice cream scoop in between two Gooey Butter Cake cookies.

Yelp
IT HAS BEEN SIX YEARS since I last visited The Baked Bear. I was visiting a friend in San Diego and stumbled upon it, what a treasure! At the time it seemed to only be on that side of the U.S., so this Bethesda location is quite exciting! A while ago, I was in the area relatively early, and unfortunately it's not opening until 2:00 PM nowadays. So I had to wait until the next opportunity... which ended up being on my birthday, since I was already in the area. After studying the menu for a good 5 minutes, I decided what I was going to get: Top - Gooey Butter Cake: literally this. Except it's a cookie with a cake texture. Bottom - Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookie: self-explanatory. Middle - Dark Chocolate ice cream and nutella as a topping. I got my order in, waited a few minutes, and received it in a cute little tub that it was just a fit in. I walked back to my car and ate it in there. IT. WAS. PHENOMENAL!!! The gooey butter cake cookie was sooooo soft, and the warmth made it all the better. That could've been good for me. The choco chip cookie on the bottom was just as tasty, and the nutella made the dark chocolate ice cream extra rich! I enjoyed every bite and nearly cried when it was all gone. I remember paying around $3 six years ago, but this one was more than twice as much... but who cares, TOTALLY WORTH IT! Take that, Captain Cookie & the Milkman! I cannot wait to return!

Monica K.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place and customize my ice cream cookie sandwich! On the day I went, there was a pretty extensive line. It seems every employee completes all roles. So, the same person will take your order, make it, then check you out. I ordered an ice cream sandwich with one butter cake cookie, one snickerdoodle cookie, butter brittle cake ice cream, and caramel on top. I also asked for it warmed. When you warm you sandwich it comes in a plastic container with a spoon. It was delicious! However, I wasn't a fan of the snickerdoodle cookie. It just did not have enough flavor in comparison to the butter cake cookie. Overall, I would return to try some other flavors, and maybe at a time and day when the line is not as long.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
The Baked Bear is one of my favorite dessert places in Pike and Rose. Every time I have visited everything was always great. The staff was always friendly and I will definitely be back soon. If you are in the area, I highly recommend the Baked Bear because there is always something for everyone!
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
I really wanted cookies so why not order from a place where their ice cream sandwiches are well known. Well, I must say, eating the cookies along weren't as good as their ice cream sandwiches. Their cookies by itself were way toooooo sweet to where I didn't really want to eat the rest of the cookies. The red Velvet cookie had a funky/weird after taste to it,too. It was too hard and the soft to crunchy ratio was off. I ordered a dozen assorted. Don't think i would order just cookies from here again, but thanks Baked Bear.
google avatar

Yelp
They are pretty much made for to-go and takeout orders. They have two windows. One is for ordering and the other is for picking up and paying. I thought this was a cool process. They could probably improve it by having some type of sign as to which order is ready since it is summer, it can get busy and a bunch of people rush to the window to figure out whether it is their order or not. They are located next to the ramen place and across from the dog party place. There is a small courtyard type location right in the front so you can get your sweets and just chill right outside - it makes for a nice romantic evening out. The desserts are a bit on the sweeter side. I am usually more towards less sugar, but this feels pretty sweet for me. If you are into sweets, then this might be for you. I am more catered towards Asian sweets which are less sweet compared to the American counterparts. The price is okay. I didnt think it was too expensive, but it is a bit pricey if you want a second one. Yes, I was thinking of a second one. It was good, but I deterred myself.

Yelp
The place is in a nice compound with lots of restaurants. The ambiance was very good. Parking might be tricky though..! Coming to the ice-creams, we got 1. Scoop of vanilla (4/5 one scoop was huge) 2. Brownie sandwich with two scoops of ice cream. One was Blackberry crumble (5/5) good flavor and Espresso bean (4.5/5) which was also good. Be careful the portions are huge huge. Two people can share one brownie sandwich easily.

Yelp
Update ! I received a message from the establishment's manager right after I posted my review. They apologized for what happened and offered a free treat any day of my choosing. I replied right away but never got a response. While I do appreciate the prompt response, the establishment did not follow through with their offer. I hope no one else has to experience what my family and I experienced at baked bear.

Was in the area shopping for computer parts and got a craving for ice cream. I found this place nearby and decided to visit. It's located in a high density mixed use area with lots of restaurants and shops. There's also hotels and big box stores around which creates a lot of foot and vehicle traffic. If you're lucky enough to grab a street spot, good for you, otherwise it's one of the convenient parking garages in the area. I had to park in the garage. 4 levels up to give you an idea of how busy the area was. It's not necessarily a quick in and out if you decide to stop by. They offer custom made to order ice cream sandwiches as well as cones and cups by themselves. You can also pick up a batch of cookies if you desire. See their menu for options and availability. I ordered an ice cream sandwich with a chocolate chip cookie bottom and a cookies and cream cookie top. (Read that 3 times fast). For the ice cream, I chose the Butter Brittle cake. And I had them hot press it. Overall, it was quite good. Both cookies were soft and moist. Very delicious in their own right, but what really got me was the ice cream. Vanilla based mixed with crunchy butter brittle, almonds, vanilla cake and sea salt caramel. I usually lean towards the chocolate flavors, but this one got my attention and I had to try it. I'm glad I did. Absolutely delicious combination of flavors. The location only offers outside seating but is shaded. The area was nice and clean and the service was standard. Looking forward to my next visit. The parking garage I chose offers the first 2 hours of parking free. There's several in the area. I'm not sure if they all follow that fee structure. YMMV.
