"Fishing rods, lithographs, and frescoes set the maritime scene in this bistro. Flawlessly fresh fish from the local fish auction and knockout seafood platters (oysters and scallops) take the limelight on the table. The fish of the day, in our case sole and turbot, is sold by the kilogramme – to the delight of our appetites and wallets!" - Michelin Inspector

Fish of day was just great! Very tasty fish soup. Excellent apple sorbet with calvados.

Excellent, one of the best meal we had. We only wish there were a couple more raviolis, rather than just two, in the Wild Shrimp Ravioli, they were so delicious. Having visited France every year for more than twenty years, the "pan fry wild gross shrimp" and the "bar terrine with prawn in lobster sauce" were the best dishes we ever had! No fuss down to earth friendly service. Third visit in 10 days, will definitely be back next year. ❤️❤️❤️

Once in a great while, you have a meal that is truly memorable. I had one when I was in Cabourg. The meal was outstanding. Fillet of St. Pierre fish over tomato risotto. The fish was sweet, almost buttery. The risotto perfect. And dessert what a pistachio , chocolate dream. Pistachio ice cream, dark chocolate fondant, a chocolate lava cake with chocolate and pistachio cream. The Maitre’d what very gracious. Staff pleasant and skilled. I highly recommend this excellent restaurant located in Cabourg.. 2 hours from Paris. It is well worth the trip.

Wonderful fresh seafood. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The manager went out of his way to make us and our two grandchildren so welcome. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Highly recommended! Amazing restaurant with great wood and impeccable service! Visited Le Baligan for the dinner and couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. This seafood restaurant offers you everything you’d like to, from classic dishes you would expect in a French restaurant, so their own specialties. You can have a menu, you can order a-la-carte, whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed. I personally enjoyed the “degustation” oyster plate with 3 different types of oysters to try, and then a specialty dish La bouillabaisse Cabourgeaise, and was extremely satisfied with the presentation, service provided by the staff and the taste, of course. Tomato risotto was also perfect. The dessert - Tarte Tatin fait maison - was a delicious cherry on top of the overall outstanding experience. This place is worth the price and ratings they have. Make sure to make a reservation.

Food 5 | Service 5 | Atmosphere 6! If you are in Cabourg we recommend to avoid the Main Street and to discover this hidden place with great food, to a good price and an authentic French atmosphere! We really enjoyed our time there ☺️

In town for work and wanted to eat at a local fish restaurant - this ticked all the boxes! A very friendly welcome and although I didn’t book they showed me to a nice table straight away. The menu is appetising and it’s difficult to choose as it all sounds yummy! Went for the seasonal set menu, (scallops) although wasn’t the cheapest it was well worth it. Food is very fresh and well prepared, you can actually see the chefs preparing the food which is always a good sign. The wine choices were good too, I went for the Muscadet primeur ! Desert was also excellent, had to have the local tarte tatin of course! Booking is advised as they’re usually fully booked!

Absolute gem of Cabourg, this place is amazing and I definitely recommend coming on a weekday for the lunch menu which is so good value for money: 24€ for starter main and desert. And they are very much worth it. Get the fish soup to start, the gambas pasta for main, you won't regret it! And on top of that the service is made with a smile and the chef comes to say hi, what's not to like?

Yelp
Loved our meal! Our only disadvantage is like bad guests we didn't speak or read any French and google translate wasn't helping us. But the staff was patient with us. The owner graciously came over to offer some assistance and recommendations. Our meal was AMAZING! Prices were great for the quality and quantity of food we received. Beautiful ambience. We regretted nothing except not speaking more French. Would recommend to any passing through or who plan to visit.
