"Part of the historic Moor Hall estate, The Barn is positioned as a more relaxed, accessible restaurant than the Two Michelin Star flagship situated in the main house. In that it succeeds, while offering delightful cooking of its own. Dishes showcase bold, punchy flavours and top-notch ingredients, while the hand-crafted cocktails are enhanced with their own fermented produce. Attentive, professional service is the icing on a rather delicious cake. 3 Courses, Weds-Thurs Dinner – £48 3 Courses, Thurs-Sat Lunch – £42" - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

"This rustic restored barn is the more informal sister to Moor Hall, and the two restaurants share the same ethos, with much of the seasonal produce coming from the five-acre grounds in which they both sit. The airy dining room comes with exposed beams and an open kitchen, while the hedge-enclosed terrace by the lake is magical on a sunny day. The cooking is modern and imaginative, and the appealing à la carte offers dishes which are British at heart, with understated elegance and well-judged combinations of punchy flavours." - Michelin Inspector

Set evening menu £65 would be good value if portion sizes were bigger as they were more like tasting menu dishes; I went home hungry despite having the cheese board supplement. The food is delicious and dietary needs can be met; they had remembered one of us was pescatarian. The dishes are well thought through but hard to enjoy fully when so small. A large team so service is swift, possibly too swift for us. Felt in a rush to get us through which meant the sommelier had to interrupt while we were eating on a few occasions to discuss the wine. Although the sommelier was very knowledgeable and engaging. Service at our table then slowed down too much when we had had the last course; left waiting for 15 minutes and would have had a coffee but were not asked or spoken to until we asked for the bill. Lovely spacious dining room with beautiful wine glasses and tableware. Toilets very cold. Not sure the pull is there for another visit given the distance from home for us.

My dining experience was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. I found the food to be underwhelming. In both dishes, an excessive amount of seaweed was used, and unfortunately, I found its flavour to be off-putting. While the portions were small, this was anticipated for a fine dining establishment. As this was my first experience at a Michelin-recommended restaurant, I had expected to encounter truly delicious food. Instead, I was presented with beautifully plated dishes that ultimately lacked flavour. Furthermore, We ordered the cheese board for an additional £6, only to discover that this would replace the dessert course. I reviewed the menu to confirm if this substitution was mentioned, but I could not find any indication of this policy. On a positive note, the service and location, along with all other aspects besides the food, were excellent.

Absolutely loved it here. Husband and I decided to treat ourselves. We weren't disappointed. Food was first class. Staff were amazing. Very informative and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend. Hope to visit again soon.

A great meal with excellent service throughout. We were given a voucher for moor hall at Christmas which we were unable to use within the year time frame given. We rang up before the voucher expired and the team kindly extended the voucher for us. We arrived shortly after our booking at a few minutes past 6 and unfortunately due to a busy day our table wasn't ready. We were told to wait downstairs in the lobby area. This wasn't the greatest start, but been in hospitality myself, know that these things happen. We were quickly put at ease as we were told our table wouldn't be long and we're brought a complimentary glass of champagne which was excellent. Once into the restaurant the food was amazing as expected with all courses been superb. The sommelier was also excellent and the bottle of wine we had was amazing. The whole experience was excellent and hope to visit again.

Phenomenal experience with fantastic service, and for what you get isn’t exactly that expensive when you sit and enjoy the whole experience! I’ve had more expensive meals that have not involved as much as the Sunday Dinner Tasting Menu, that you receive her! The servers are warm and welcoming, with impeccable knowledge whilst delivering the meal and what everything is. The food is full of flavour, rich and just spectacular. You can see why they have a star. That being said, the experience isn’t overbearing and is somewhat laidback and causal, something you could do more often and enjoy. It’s not something that would have anyone feeling out of place, but more welcoming and just wanting people to enjoy amazing cooking and experiences, together. A skill that is hard to do!

Had an amazing lunch at Moor Hall. The food was outstanding, especially the Mackerel Set and Cod Set. The service was impeccable, and the ambiance was perfect for a relaxing meal. Highly recommend this place for a memorable dining experience. Will definitely be back!

Our go to place. Local to where we live but defiantly worth driving to if you live further a field. The food is excellent and the service is exceptional

This was fantastic food and experience all in one. I had high expectations, and they did not disappoint. From start to finish, the service and all those involved in it made you feel special without being imposing. The food was to die for. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
