Stopped by on our road trip to Deadwood and we weren't dissaponted! Decor was fun an interesting!! Chairs were comfortable office style chairs which made for a neat vibe! I had the fish and chips which was walleye for the win! My wife had the Barrel Burger and she was a fan! Service was also on point! Glad we stopped!!

Google
Nice environment, furniture well taken care of. Waitress was prompt and helpful. I got the Farmhouse Burger and my friend got the Barrel Burger. They have a nice patio, as well as plenty of room inside and in the parking lot.

Stopped in for a late lunch while I was passing through town. This is a really nice place with a good selection & variety in the menu. I was seated immediately and the atmosphere inside was cozy and they had a nice seating area outside. My server Angela was fantastic. She was attentive and knowledgeable without coming on too strong. I had the Hawaiian pizza and it was delicious, sauce, cheese, crust, toppings all great, I'd say about a 7-7.5 on the Barstool scale. Overall a great experience & a nice place to stop for a meal anytime.

Google
Great service and a nice atmosphere. They also have a solid variety of beers. The portions are a bit small for the price, but the execution was well done.

Google
Very nice restaurant, clean and responsive server. I ordered one of their stone crust pizzas, delicious! My daughter ordered the macaroni and cheese with bacon, not as good as it looked, not her best choice. By the picture she thought it would have been a bigger serving. Very good drink choices. I recommend this restaurant.

Google
Really good food, Chislic was perfect; pizza was very good though i wish the crust was a bit crispier. Stout was spot on and Old fashioned was standard.

Google
Food was fantastic, I got the Smoked Brisket Hogie Birra. Was the best brisket sandwich this trip. Highly recommend. For the bourbon enthusiasts & tourists like me out there, get ready to drool. See the pics. Also they have all of the Wellers at the bar including C.Y. O. P. B. (White label) for sampling $.

Google
So good! Small group dinner during an out of town tournament and everyone incuding the picky eaters and gluten free eaters were pleased with their choices! And fast friendly service. A total Win!

Yelp
Attentive service and friendly waitress. I got the Chislic appetizer and it was seasoned well and was juicy! I'm glad she recommended the Strawberry Cucumber Salad because it was so delicious! I added chicken to mine and it was very tender too. I would come here again to try more things on the menu pleasant atmosphere.

Yelp
This was the fourth time we had eaten here in the past 18 months. My black bean burger was above average for a restaurant bean burger. The accompanying coleslaw was excellent with broccoli etc. added to the cabbage mix. My husband's Scoville 2 with chicken sandwich was poorly prepared. The bottom of the chicken breast was so overcooked as to be leathery and the seeds were left in the Fresno peppers

Yelp
I had an absolutely delicious BBQ burger and onion rings. Our server, Natalie, was great. The ambiance is nothing special but the food makes up for it.

Yelp
My husband and I are currently on a quest to play pub trivia in as many states as possible. (13 down, 37 to go.) So, since we're visiting Minneapolis, we decided to go on an excursion to South Dakota. We selected the Barrel House simply because they offer a trivia game on Tuesdays (at 7 pm) and serve food. I wish this restaurant was located closer to us, because it would definitely be added to our weekly roster of trivia games. The game is good (DJ Trivia is the provider), the food is phenomenal, and the restaurant is even quite attractive, and has amazingly comfortable seats. My husband and I both had 12" pizzas. He reports that the pad thai pizza was a little too spicy for him (then again, he also tries to order "zero" when asked for his preferred spice level on a scale of 1 to 10). I had the smokehouse pizza, which had bacon, brisket, and a couple of other smoked meats, with a drizzle of smoky, mildly tangy barbecue sauce, and a sprinkling of crispy onions. The crust was thin, chewy rather than crunchy (I prefer chewy; less abrasion on the inside of one's mouth), but nicely cooked throughout--not at all soggy in the middle despite the generous heaping of toppings. Service was excellent; our server was obviously keeping an eye on my husband's water glass, which had to be refilled often. The table was cleared quickly when we were done eating--but the staff was also paying attention and accommodated what might have seemed odd requests, like to leave my husband's plate even though he had finished his pizza (I didn't even have to explain that he likes to eat my crusts). So...kudos for customer-centric service. The manager, Laura, went above and beyond for us when we unexpectedly won the game, and allowed us to use the prize that night, despite some complicated paperwork. A restaurant that is so nice to out-of-towners that they will probably never see again is undoubtedly amazing to their regulars...and is deserving of support. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The food was awesome. Portions were plenty. The service was fast and friendly. Waitress was cheerful like she wanted to be there. Ambiance was second to none. Very unique

Tara S.

Yelp
Service was great. Food especially the prime rib bites are amazing. Tuesday features trivia and it was fun to watch. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The barrel house salad is my go to salad, they have an amazing ranch dressing, and the service is always great, I recommend the barrel aged margaritas.

Yelp
Our meal was fine. Our server was good. It was VERY busy, but we got in right away. I can't believe I'm complaining about this, but our food came out a little *too* fast. I felt kinda rushed. We started with the jalapeño wontons and cheese curds. Both were amazing and the sauce with the wontons was killer. Their ranch is a tad too garlicky. (And a bit thick.) I got the mac n' cheese with the pulled pork. It was just OK. I had to add a ton of salt and pepper and the pork was very fatty. I ate about 2/3 of it before I ran out of parts I liked enough to eat. My husband got a chicken sandwich something, but he was underwhelmed with his, too. (He doesn't even remember the name of the dish. Haha) His sweet potato fries were AMAZING. I also really like the honey mustard my sister-in-law let me try. I didn't use the bathrooms, but my husband did. He said they were fine. There's a nice looking patio area I'd like to try someday. It was of course closed for the season. (We went in December of '23.) Very loud in there, but like I said earlier it was LOUD. Plenty of parking. I'll go back if my sibling and his wife ask us to like they asked us this time. Might not go on our own. It was also a little pricy, FYI.

David T.

Yelp
Food was very good. Service was okay. Had to wait on refills. Appetizers were also good. Overall enjoyed our meal and the ambiance.

Yelp
Please listen to the poor reviews. Nice place, waitress was nice but very inattentive, I ordered a burger and fries for 18 dollars which is an absurd price point for this kind of place, but most every entree is in that 16-18 dollar range so I figured what the hell, at least it must be awesome for that kind of price. I was so wrong, the burger came out and was extremely overcooked, crispy the whole way through, I couldn't believe they sent it out like that, it was accompanied with a meager portion of soggy fries. I have never felt more ripped off at a Sioux Falls restaurant than I did at Barrel House, do something about your ridiculous prices and your terrible food quality, or at least do something about one of those things. Until then I won't be back, I suggest you make the same choice.

Yelp
I had the Chislic and it was very tender and flavorful. Mac & cheese was creamy and good as well. Service was very prompt and friendly. They have an outstanding selection of bourbon. Very comfortable atmosphere, drove 25 minutes to try this place and it was well worth it.

Bonni W.

Yelp
Food was subpar, my chicken breast was dry and burned not just blackened. It all looked like it was just thrown on to the platters. Some of the orders were missed. Definitely not worth the money. Service was good and she was prompt

Maggie V.

Yelp
My server Morgan was amazing, accommodating and friendly!!!!! It was a fun time! I would highly recommend!!

Yelp
I took our family to the Barrel House as a second choice because our first choice had a half hour wait. We were seated and waited and then waited some more while the table next to us was being waited on even though they arrived quite some time after we did. I went to the desk and explained that I wasn't please with the wait. After some time a person who I assumed was a manager came and said he would have a waiter come to our table. A waiter did finally come and take our order. By this time the table next to us were eating. Again after a wait our food came portions at a time. Our grand daughters Mac & Cheese arrived with a spoon that could only be described as terribly filthy. When she got a clean spoon about half of her Mac & Cheese came out of the bowl in a hard junk. The pizza my wife and I shared was just OK and was warm at best. One order did not arrive with the rest of our food. That had to be reordered. The rest of us were done eating and waiting for the last meal to arrive. The people at the neighboring table were leaving by this time. My grand daughter described our experience quite well. "I don't want to come here again." They did comp a couple items, but after the experience that's not enough to be even be a third or fourth choice next time.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots for a spontaneous date with my wife. We love the appetizers and "what's-on-tap". Service can be hit or miss on the time of day but our regular server/waitress does an excellent job every time.

Yelp
Just a great staple bar and grill type restaurant in Sioux Falls. They do food well, the do drinks well and the place has a cool and comfortable vibe. Can't go wrong here.

Larney C.

Yelp
If you love allocated bourbon then this is the place you want to come!! We came for their list of hard to find allocations and stayed for the food. The food is delicious and they offer a wide range of options for anyone to enjoy. The service was top notch cannot say enough about our waitress Jenna, she was very well versed in the menu and while she's still learning about bourbons she had no problem asking the bartender about items. The ambiance is nice and comfortable. Which is a must. We will be back!!

Gladi K.

Yelp
It started at the door. Host had no smile nor did he greet us. We order a bottle of wine listed on the menu and they were out. So we took our second choice bottle and waitress came back with two small glasses of wine well under poured. So we then asked for the bottle because to get a bottle worth of wine it would be 6 glasses for the table. So the waitress was fine but when she went back they had found our first choice on the patio. And asked if we would like it and we said yes. Her manager would not let her sell it to us we could only buy by the glass. We asked to speak to him and he definitely lied to us saying the bottle was already open. And not very friendly. Assistant manager. So we went with our second choice of wine and they brought a different breed of wine that was not very good, Butter Cab which was not even on the menu.

Sean M.

Yelp
disappointing. stick to chislic, cheese curds, drinks. too big menu poorly executed. does have impressive bourbon list, if that's important to you. struggle with burgers, basic fare.

Yelp
My family and I really enjoyed it. They had some different spins on food you don't see in other restaurants. Ingredients seems fresh and of good quality. We've just been the one time, but I'm sure we'll go again!

Yelp
We came hungry and definitely ate our way through the menu! My bf had the tequila old fashioned and I had a tequila Moscow mule which we both enjoyed. The spinach and artichoke dip was good but also tasted like any other restaurant. I had the breakfast burger which I thought was pretty good and really filling. The portion is big and everything tasted fresh! For dessert, we had the caramel apple skillet. I can't remember the exact name but it was warm apple goodness baked in a mini skillet and served with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream! We enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of Sioux Falls, The Barrel House promises a culinary adventure worth savoring. My recent visit left me with mixed feelings, as the experience offered delightful highs and slight disappointments. Let's start with the highlights - the mac and cheese. Oh, what a delightful masterpiece! Creamy, cheesy goodness enveloped perfectly cooked pasta, delivering a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds with every bite. The mac and cheese alone is worth a visit to The Barrel House. Equally impressive was the impeccable service. Attentive and friendly staff made us feel right at home, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, not all dishes hit the mark. The goat and cheese salad, while sounding promising on the menu, fell short of expectations. What was described as a tantalizing combination of greens, goat cheese, and assorted toppings turned out to be a disappointment. The salad lacked the promised toppings, leaving it rather bland and uninspiring. It felt like a missed opportunity to showcase the flavors and creativity that The Barrel House is undoubtedly capable of. Despite zx the slight hiccup with the salad, The Barrel House remains a must-visit for any food enthusiast. With its stellar mac and cheese and impeccable service, it's a culinary gem waiting to be discovered. Just be sure to steer clear of the goat and cheese salad unless it undergoes a much-needed makeover. To make it easier the food was good ( don't get the goat cheese salad, the service was AMAZING, and the environment impeccable!

Yelp
I had the fish and chips. Couldn't taste the fish. To much breading. The fries were too greasy. The plate was all thrown together. The waitress was great though.
google avatar

Erik R.

Yelp
Not too bad at all. Service very helpful and on top of table of 8. Cool spot. I'll have to get after the Bourbon menu next time.

Mary S.

Yelp
It has actually been more than a year since we ate at The Barrel House. We were recently back in Sioux Falls and wanted to visit again. Unfortunately it didn't work out, but we'll try again next time we are in the area. My Mom still hasn't stopped talking about the delicious fish!

Maya S.

Yelp
Food was really good, loved the pizza and Mac n cheese! The cocktails were really good too and the ambiance itself was lovely. Overall had a great experience.

Alene L.

Yelp
our food was great, our waitress pleasant. My only complaint was how dirty the place is. The bottles that divide the rooms are so filthy that there are actually cobwebs on them.

Nat C.

Yelp
The food was amazing the waiter was really nice and the food came out really fast and they had a few gluten free choices
google avatar

Yelp
We went here on a Wednesday night. They had two bucks off burgers. They have a nice dining area and the waitress was great. We are inside but the outside area looked nice too. This is a bar restaurant but is family friendly too. The food was good. It looks newer so everything is modern and in nice condition. It is a nice local place to eat if you are in the area. I would recommend.

Yelp
Good food and great bourbon choices. Fun place to hang out with friends. I recommend the flatbed pizzas.

Yelp
It's always busy but the have enough space and staff to handle a crowd. I tried a new item, the Birria Pizza. It was amazing and comes with birria sauce on the side for dipping. Birria tacos are a favorite and to put it on a pizza successfully is amazing.

Yelp
Went to barrel house on 4/19/2024 around 1:30. My husband twins and I thought it looked like a good choice... WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! We went in and we were seated right away. Inside of the restaurant was very nice. Seats were a little close together as it felt like you were eating with the next table. Our waitress walked passed a couple times without helping which was frustrating. Alright to the point .. the food SUCKED!! My husband got a chicken sandwich that was as hard as a hockey puck and my kiddos had the cheeseburger kids meal looked gross they looked at they were sitting under the heater forever and again hockey pucks. I ordered the salad with chicken and it was ok NOT a 15.00 salad by any means. It was 83.00 of gross food!! Never going there again!!!! We went to slim chickens later that evening went in sat down got A 24.00 meal which was fabulous!!! Will NEVER go to the Barrel house again!!!!

Patty F.

Yelp
Really disappointed with our visit. Food was mediocre at best. Service was average for a quiet afternoon sitting at the bar. Biggest surprise was the bartender couldn't answer questions my husband had about a couple of bourbons as they are not allowed/trained on the menu items. So she offered to get the bar manager - great! BUT he was gruff, grumpy and grouchy all rolled up. My husband asked if he could give him some guidance between 2-3 bourbons to which the manager said "I'll just show you the what I have." No insights, suggestions, etc. He seemed overly bothered to actually talk to a customer. Just go somewhere else.

Jessie B.

Yelp
I like the aesthetic here if you're going for sporty and casual. The food is okay, all appetizers I've had here have been yummy but way too salty.
google avatar

Kellyna W.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere, great servers who know the menu well, and a big selection of tap beers. Outdoor patio is one of our favorites.

Jill M.

Yelp
The food was delicious and came to the table in a timely manner. The service was excellent! The ambiance and the noise level was comfortable. We will definitely go there again!

Noelle M.

Yelp
Love this place!! Delicious food and great service. They have good weekday specials too! What a great addition to the east side!

Yelp
We showed up at the barrel house on a Friday night. The place was packed but we were seated at our table soon enough and greeted by our friendly waiter. We got the garlic knots for the appetizer when came out piping hot and delicious! The wifey got the Mac and cheese and I got the pulled pork sandwich. Neither dishes really wowed us but was totally acceptable and came out fast enough. Overall a great place for a fast casual classic American meal. We will be back!
google avatar

Lori R.

Yelp
This place has the right idea! Varied seating options, good specials, and a menu that is full of great-sounding choices. If I lived around here, I'd be going back often to try everything on the menu! Since we live more than one plane ride away, we had to choose wisely for our first adventure here. Apps, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads...all familiar but with enough originality to make them all sound intriguing. Having eaten heartier earlier I went with the Bourbon Salad which was a delicious bowl of fresh greens plus peaches, red onions, pecans and smoked cheddar with a bacon-bourbon vinaigrette. Mmmmm! When peaches are in season, this will only get better. Others in our group had the Garden Burger, which our Server was kind enough to point out is a portabella rather than a veggie burger. Made both of them happy. Fries good, and the Parmesan Portabella fries were an even bigger hit. Biggest surprise was our little one who managed to consume an entire Pizza Margherita (although he sadly scraped off the great-looking fresh basil). TIP: look for specials...both the Pizza Margherita and the Margarita drink were on special the Wednesday night we were there.

Jim I.

Yelp
The food is great, service OK. But, be aware this restaurant charges a 3% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. We might have missed it, but we didn't see this disclosed anywhere until our check arrived.

Eric G.

Yelp
Food is great! It is usually too busy on the weekends for my comfort, so I'll order for pickup! Latest fav is the smokehouse pizza! Wish it was little less money for the size you get, but it is very good!
google avatar

Kimberly F.

Yelp
Excellent bourbon selection! As an avid whiskey girl, I was pleasantly surprised by all the choices they had.

Gary P.

Yelp
The walleye is terrible. They serve it battered with more breading than fish. While they advertise it as 2 or 3 fillets, the fillets are actually cut in half lengthwise so you only get one fillet if you order two. The food Is also comes to the table barely warm. The side salad was actually very good and the wait staff was friendly. Try somewhere else unless you just want a burger and barely warm fries.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped at the barrel house on a Friday to enjoy a quick lunch break. To say our experience was a barrel of fun would be an understatement! We were seated quickly and our server was incredibly attentive. To start we ordered a couple of drinks including a peach Moscow mule. The mule was lacking peach flavor but otherwise was pretty decent. For a starter we ordered some garlic Parmesan fries with a side of ranch and signature sauce! The Fries were fantastic, and the ranch was better than a bottled hidden valley. My wife ordered the brisket Mac and cheese, and it hit every mark in terms of flavor, smokiness, cheesiness, and straight up comfort food. The Star of our meal however was the BBQ burger with a side of onion rings. Maybe I was starving, but genuinely it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The onion rings were perfectly battered and together it was "chefs kiss" fantastic!

Ryder H.

Yelp
The food first off truffle fries were the best I've ever had. The burger is great and the employees were so nice. The pizza was good because it was a brick oven grill. The ambiance was also great
google avatar

Heidi C.

Yelp
We stopped at the Barrel House after a USF football game. We were sat it the bar area and absolutely loved the atmosphere and comfy swivel chairs. FINALLY a Sioux Falls restaurant that invested in quality chairs - not cheap stack chairs. Now on to the food - we all ordered different burgers and everyone loved there food. I had the Club burger with sweet potato fries and everything was fantastic. Good beer selection too. Our server was fantastic too. We will definitely be back. Really a great experience - obviously well managed.

Speedball T.

Yelp
The manager was very attentive to my anaphylactic milk allergy. She spoke with the kitchen staff to find out what was safe for me and relayed the situation to our waitress who was very nice and checked in on us regularly. Highly recommend this place. It was a very warm welcome to someone who just moved to town.
google avatar

Jenna F.

Yelp
Out of town looking for a place to eat. This place was unique and delicious would very much recommend and come back if in the area.

Kris S.

Yelp
Great burgers with a very comfortable environment...pizza is always a favorite along with their drink specials
