The reviews are generally accurate although the reviewers are very generous in their star ratings. The Bashful Bull is a diner, and it serves diner food. I ordered a hamburger, fries and milkshake which were the daily special and cost less than $8 - a bargain. I got a burger that appeared to have been delivered pre-sliced and frozen in a box and then grilled, fries that likewise had been delivered pre-sliced and frozen and then fried, and a small chocolate milkshake that was very dark and had a spoon in it - for what I don't know. It was not thick enough to need a spoon, and it appeared to have been made with chocolate milk and chocolate ice cream and had an odd consistency. Judging from the other reviews, it would appear that breakfasts are their best meals, and as for the décor, I personally like diners, and I thought it was pretty authentic - right down to the frozen ingredients and mediocre food. I would have much preferred to pay twice as much and had a chef who prepared the food instead of merely assembling it, but they're probably right; a few block from Ocean Beach on Taraval in the foggy Sunset is not the place for that kind of restaurant.
