"If you didn’t get your fill of stadium food during the game, or maybe you want to celebrate an epic win, opt for this spot serving smoky, rich barbecue with just the right amount of bark. The Bearded Pig has two locations, one in the San Marco neighborhood and another in Jacksonville Beach, offering one of McLaren’s clutch game-day foods. “Their Bearded Poutine is my go-to dish featuring loaded French fries, brisket, pimento cheese, and cheese curds. It pairs great with their selection of local beer,” she says." - Carrie Honaker

"While there are two Bearded Pig locations in Jacksonville, the San Marco restaurant has a lively outdoor green space where kids can play lawn games or run around to get some energy out before meals are delivered to the table. The kids menu has a choice of a barbecue sandwich with either brisket, pulled pork, or turkey. Each kids’ meal comes with a side, and kids will not want to miss the macaroni and cheese, which is creamy and cheesy, just like mom likely makes." - Megan duBois

Google
First time eating here and the food was AWESOME !!! Angie was my bartender for my ice cold beers and she was doing a GREAT job keeping me hydrated. I got the 3 meat meal with ribs, chicken and sausage with beans and coleslaw. I had enough left over to take home to my kids. Generous Portions !!! Plenty of room for big groups and covered seating outside. I highly recommend this place for EXCELLENT BBQ and COLD BEER and SERVICE with a SMILE.

Google
Great little spot with tons of character and great service. I got the ribs (excellent), chicken (ok) and brisket (good). Will be back to check out their other proteins and some of their sides. Seems like they had a pretty nice bar, inside and outside seating. Kids were running around and coloring on a wall dedicated to that outside. Good, fun vibe.

Google
What a cool place! Very popular. We got here around 2, and we had to stand in a line for a bit but let me tell you, it was worth it! Great service and amazing food! Brisket was next level along with the poutine with pimento cheese.Oh and the fried Brussel sprouts… Chefs kiss. 😘👌 The vibe of the place was very chill and relaxing. Absolutely recommend!

Google
Ate here on a Thursday evening and I cannot express just how delicious the food was! Me and my partner split the smallest meal option which came with 1/4 lb ribs, chicken and 2 other meat options we got the brisket and pulled pork and came with 2 sides. That meal was $38 it was plenty of food for us to split and both be full. I cannot wait to come back and eat here again. Really wish there was one in Ohio 😭

Google
Excited to find this place for dinner with the family. Our platter had Ribs, Chicken, Pulled Pork and Brisket. We picked mac and cheese and beans as our sides. We tried all the sauces, each of us liking something different. We also ordered brussel sprouts ( special) and jalepeno poppers to start. Everything was very delicious ( except the mac and cheese) We will make a special trip here in the future. We left feeling satisfied and that our money was well spent. We sat outside with our Aussie. There is a wall where children can draw with chalk on the back side of the patio, so be sure your pet is Friendly.

We are in Texas fairly often and this bbq just surpassed many of our formerly “favorite” spots. *We had: pulled pork (!!!), brisket (succulent),chicken, sausage, ribs (wow) *Collards (very balanced flavoring!) ,the sweet& sour beans (still analyzing those!!) and the POUTINE! I really appreciate the flavoring in the sides, since many places seem to default to doing nothing more than pouring vinegar in everything. So impressed!

Google
Kings Sandwich SLAPS! No Cap. Yo, lemme tell you, The Bearded Pig in JAX is legit. The burnt ends were straight fire – melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The Kings sandwich; Girl, that thing was LOADED. Like, no cap, it's a beast. Brisket? On point. Pork sausage? Absolute banger. And the slaw was the perfect vibe. The Brussels sprouts? Roasted to perfection, not soggy at all. And the sauces? Sweet Spot, XXX, and OG – I mixed 'em all. The XXX had that kick, naughty, for real 🤤. Plus, they got local brews on tap, so I was supporting the local scene. Always a win. If you're looking for some seriously good BBQ, The Bearded Pig is where it's at. This place is a whole mood. Highly recommend, y’all.

Google
My favorite BBQ spot in town. As I said before the beaches location just wasnt the same. Was not a surprise to me that they are now closed. This location has always had amazing energy, from the servers, bartenders and managers, everyone is friendly & welcoming. Food is all great on its own, the sauces add extra flavor but are not needed to enjoy the food. Just how it should be. Nice out door seating area with a chalk wall for the little ones too. Well behaved dogs are also allowed on leash on the patio, which is cool.

Yelp
That beef rib everything and the service was very good .. I will be going back because it's had to find great beef ribs, tender ,juicy fall of the bone delicious.

Minju K.

Yelp
We came just as they opened. They were so nice and very attentive to us. We came with our service dog and they even brought a bowl of water for him. The food was soooooo good. The ribs were so juicy and moist. My favorite was the burnt ends though. Definitely check this place out!

Yelp
If you are a BBQ fan, then you must come here! I'm currently in BBQ heaven after eating my late lunch a half hour ago. I got the Pulled Pork Sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. Wow, it's the best PP sandwich that I've eaten in a long time! I wish they had a restaurant in Miami Beach! We ordered online and ate at our hotel. The staff were very nice at Breaded Pug. The ambiance is casual and hip. My daughter had the same but with Mac n Cheese. She raved about her meal. She also ordered the Banana Bread Pudding and loved it. They have their own free private parking lot fir their customers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They have a full bar. We hope to go back again. Their prices are reasonable.

Yelp
I had a great time here at The Bearded Pig. The food is just amazingly fresh. The service is super calm and friendly. The ambiance is super chill and cute. 5 stars.

Yelp
We came on a Thursday night and there was still quite a few people here enjoying the restaurant. We order the San Marco BBQ Platter. It offered a solid variety of smoked meats and Southern sides, though it wasn't without its flaws. The ribs and brisket were tender and packed with smoky flavor, easily the highlights of the meal. The turkey and chicken were moist but underseasoned; however, the restaurant's nice selection of sauces helped bring these milder options to life. The sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious, but the collard greens were overly salty and could use better balance. The biggest letdown was the "roll," which turned out to be a plain hamburger bun--not quite what you'd expect for a BBQ platter. The ambience made up for some of the food's shortcomings. The restaurant had a trendy, hip vibe with a true Southern feel, and the friendly security staff added to the welcoming atmosphere. Overall, it's a good place to enjoy BBQ with great sauces and a vibrant setting, even if some menu items could use a little improvement. Overall, it scratches that BBQ itch.

Robbie S.

Yelp
Customer service is what stands out to me first about The Bearded Pig! I loved how the cashier asked what cut of brisket I preferred (Fatty, Lean, In the Middle) and that alone warranted a review. Also, being a visitor in town I loved how the bartender was more than helpful to suggest some good local hangs, bars, food to enjoy while we were in town. BBQ is close to my heart and JAX is even closer. Thanks for keeping up the good reputation and try the Brisket

Chris B.

Yelp
A must when you are in the Jacksonville, FL area. I've been to bbq joints where there is a line out the door and the only thing good is the meats. This place has both the meats and the sides! All very fresh and homemade. Try the Mac and cheese as well as the potato salad. Good vibe and nice people.

Norm C.

Yelp
This is a really great bbq place. It's not fancy but it is a very chill spot. The decor is clean and functional. They have a nice outdoor area and a covered porch with heaters. I had the brisket sandwich and some sweet potato pies. Both were really good. Several sauce choices which were excellent from sweet to spicy. Staff was friendly and helpful in making my selection. Prices were great and free parking in their lot. Go check out this little gem of a bbq restaurant.

Michael A.

Yelp
Very friendly and hospitable staff! The burnt ends are Texas based, salt n heavy handed pepper, which I love! The ribs Ohhh my, they bring you some ribs. I had the half slab but I could only eat 3 and I can eat some ribs. They are large and meaty! This is a nice plate to eat! I love the atmosphere and I'll be back for sure!

Sasmin S.

Yelp
Yummy food and pleasant service. It's an order at the counter place and they bring you the food in paper food trays. It's a casual, nice atmosphere that' feels like a neighborhood place. The many bbq sauces are tasty so there is sure to be one you will like. I highly recommend trying the mac & cheese and brussels sprouts!

Megan R.

Yelp
Very good food and service. Rib was huge tender and juicy. Enough for at least 3 meals.

Caroline D.

Yelp
The food was delicious . You feel like you're in your own backyard having a BBQ. Kid friendly. Service is not much. The food comes to your table and you are not bothered unless you reach out. The jalapeño poppers and burnt ends are a way to start. We chose a mixed meat platter. Tender & juicy. Be ready to use your fingers.:)))

Kathryn G.

Yelp
Love this spot! The casual vibe paired with great barbecue is perfect for a lunch with friends, chill date night, or party with friends. I love their outside space! I loved the Pig Punch ($8) for a drink, super sweet and coconut-y. My boyfriend and I shared the San Marco Platter ($34) and I was amazed with the amount of food we got for the price! It comes with 1/4 rack of ribs, 1/4 chicken (you get to choose light or dark meat), 1/4 lb of two more meats of your choice - we chose brisket, (which they let you choose how fatty or lean you wanted it) and pulled pork. It also comes with 2 sides, so we did the regular fries and mac and cheese. We also got the sandwich roll (free with the platter if requested) on the side. The platter was SO GOOD. Every single meat was perfect, but I especially loved the ribs and the brisket. The pulled pork on the sandwich roll with some BBQ sauce was soooo good too. And the mac and cheese.....amazing!!! They have five different types of BBQ sauces as well, so you can try them all to find your favorite! The service was also great, from those at the front taking orders to those swapping out sauce bottles for fuller ones. I would absolutely come back to The Bearded Pig!!!

Danny B.

Yelp
Solid, solid bbq, definitely gets the job done when it comes to getting your bbq fix. A lot of people here recommend the brisket, in my mind, you go to Texas to get brisket, but it was pretty good. The collard greens are pretty good, has a lemony zest kick to it, but solid overall. I didn't get the Mac n cheese, although it looks amazing, needed up getting the fries which were nice and crispy. Recommend giving this place a shot!

Menghai T.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and ordered the Kings Sandwich plus a Mac n cheese side($15), it had brisket, pork, sausage, jalapeño popper, and cheese sauce. The jalapeño popper was wrapped in bacon and had cream cheese inside. I really enjoyed the sausage and poppers the most in the sandwich. The brisket was seasoned well, but it did feel a bit dry. But overall an excellent sandwich at a great price with a variety of meats to try. Staff was friendly and food came out in a reasonable time. Overall a good BBQ place to try! Food(50%): 7.7 Staff/service(25%): 7.0 Value(25%): 8.5 Overall: 8.1/10

Yelp
I recently had dinner at The Bearded Pig and was thoroughly impressed. I tried the brisket, smoked turkey, and collard greens, and each dish was exceptional. The brisket was perfectly cooked--tender, juicy, and bursting with smoky flavor. The smoked turkey was equally delicious, with a delicate smokiness that complemented its natural flavor without overpowering it. The collard greens were a delightful surprise, seasoned to perfection and providing a wonderful, slightly tangy balance to the rich meats. The atmosphere was casual and inviting, with friendly staff who were attentive and helpful. If you're a fan of barbecue, The Bearded Pig is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Yelp
Cool bbq joint in the Jacksonville area! We came here on a Saturday for lunch around 1. We beat most of the crowd, but the line was almost out the door by the time we were eating, so come early! You order at the front and they have a variety of plate options and a la Carte with the meats. My husband and I decided to try a little bit of everything. The pork and turkey were definitely our favorite meats- the rib was a little tough and the brisket wasn't as flavorful as we'd hoped. But the stars of the show were 100% the sides! The collards were to die for, and the Brussels were incredible. They happened to be the side special for the day, so we jumped on that quickly. They did have a larger bar area and plenty of patio seating. The parking situation is quite small, so lots of people were parking on the street or waiting to pounce in the lot for a space. When we were waiting in line, the employee stopped taking orders because there weren't any tables available. This backed up the line quite a bit and of course there were plenty of tables ready when we were ready to sit down. Seemed strange to us, but we sat quickly and the food came out fast.

Denzell M.

Yelp
The Bearded Pig is my go-to for amazing barbecue. The brisket is tender, smoky, and just melts in your mouth, and the pulled pork sandwich is always a winner. Their mac and cheese and baked beans are the kind of sides that could easily steal the show. I love the laid-back vibe of their outdoor seating, and their craft beer selection is always on point. It's a must-visit if you love barbecue.

Yelp
Disclaimer: Please forgive my picture taking skills, I lack that skill lol. With this place though I had to try! Omfg!!! I've done quite a few "hands down" sort of reviews, but I really truly God almighty have to say this is HANDS DOWN the best damn freaking barbecue I have ever put in my damn mouth! Jeez louise jiminy effin cricket!!! The ratings do not lie! Fucking awesome! :) We are here in Florida for business and my partner wanted to try Whataburger for lunch. I, of course, had to open up Yelp and see if there were better options. And lo and behold I see the Bearded Pig. While drooling over the menu on line and I then saw that it was only 13 minutes away so I, of course, had to suggest it (strongly) to my partner who had 0 complaints about going. He too loves bbq! "Let's go all out and really try this bbq, therefore it's on me buddy, not the company credit card. I got us today!" I kindly make this statement to my partner as we are en route to this Bearded Pig. Upon arrival we see a staff member in the parking lot and she looks up and gives us a full smile greeting. My response, "love it, man, everyone in Florida is so effin nice!" We proceed inside to more damn smiles and friendly ass staff members. I inform our "order taker" friendly lady it is our first time, she graciously let's me know to take our time and peruse the menu. So what we ordered: (1) Smoked wings (2) Two orders of the Kings sandwich (Brisket on crack sandwich)* (2) A couple of fountain drinks. Had to try that sweet tea. The sweet tea. Amazing! Sweet enough, not too sweet, just right where you can still fully taste the quality of that tea, with just enough sweetness to make you say..."OMEffinGod, even the Sweet tea is amazing!!!" The Wings. Again, I dont mean to freak out, but I've never had better wings than these damn effin wings. Smoked perfectly, a ton of meat on the wings, all of the wings. You know how sometimes you get like 10, but 2 or 3 will look like they were suffering with anorexia?! Well, not at the bearded pig. All these little suckers were proportionality just right! The first bite into the Brisket sandwich. I almost pretty much fainted. Look at my picture, that's how they come. Not a false advertisement picture but rather the real deal type picture. Ya da ming?! They had 6 different types of bbq we were able to squirt on our delicious food. That habanero/ghost pepper was my favorite. So good and had a hint of that spiciness. I'm going back to California today . I almost want to cancel my flight and buy a house right next door to the Bearded Pig so I can eat there everyday! Hahha In short, I would definitely overstay my welcome at this spot! Lol. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the place had the saddest decor! The ambiance was awesome of course. The layout, I commented to my partner was awesome! Loving that half indoor and half outdoor bar set up! I love you, the Bearded Pig, I mean I love you so much. I know we had just met so it's little awkward, or maybe telling you is just too soon , it's just that I love you so much! And I have to tell you! Hahahha Ok, bye for now. I'll be back for sure!! Our company got the contract to begin work here so yeah, I'll be coming back for sure. Gonna stalk your ass now!

Jimmy T.

Yelp
Two of our grandkids are spending the night with us and they wanted BBQ. No better place than the Bearded Pig!!! Oh yes! I had their pulled pork sandwich for the first time and it was very good. I had fries and beans. Love their beans. I always get the brisket when we come here but wanted something different. My wife got the brisket with seasonal brussels sprouts Grandsons got chicken nuggets and our granddaughter got the pulled pork. We definitely recommend the Bearded Pig! Fun is great. Family atmosphere. Always clean. Service is always fast, fresh and hot.

Tony T.

Yelp
This is, like many barbecue places, you order at the counter and then sit down with a number and your food is brought to you. I ordered the brisket sandwich and the regular french fries. The fries could've used a little more salt, and my table didn't have salt shaker, so I dipped them in the many different sauces that were on the table. I mainly had the XXX sauce, which was spicy, the mustard sauce and the sweet barbecue sauce. All were very good. The brisket though, WOW! It was so very tender and melt in your mouth delicious. If I'm ever back in that area, I will likely return to try the other meats they have.

Brett S.

Yelp
Passing through JAX. Stopped in at this A+ BBQ! We ordered brisket, chicken, turkey, and ribs. All of it was so good. Friendly service at when we ordered at the counter. Helpful in ordering since it was our first time. It was fun watching sports on the TVs and a very chilled atmosphere.

Olivia J.

Yelp
I recently ordered takeout from The Bearded Pig, and overall, it was a good experience. I got the veggie plate, which came with collard greens, mac & cheese, a seasonal vegetable--sweet potato--and an order of french fries. The fries were very seasoned, which I absolutely loved! The food was tasty, though I found the collard greens to be a bit on the salty side. My boyfriend had the brisket sandwich, and while he enjoyed it, he felt the combo could have been better balanced between lean and fatty pieces. It's also great to see that The Bearded Pig offers solid vegetarian options, which is a nice surprise for a barbecue spot. Definitely a place we'd try again!

Heidi B.

Yelp
I loved my experience at The Bearded Pig! If you can, I highly recommend visiting at an off time such as a Thursday or Friday at 2pm-3pm. It was very simple to place our order, grab drinks from the Coke Freestyle machine, and have our food delivered to our table. For the first experience, I tried a little of everything including brisket, pulled pork, and mac n cheese. Everything was excellent and I enjoyed that there was a wide variety of 4-5 BBQ sauces on every table to dip everything in. Can't wait to come back and try their homemade pimento cheese! I noticed multiple reviewers stating that the parking is tight. I had no issues, but I could totally see this becoming a problem if you visit during a busy weekend lunch hour. I would just say to plan accordingly if you know that you will be visiting at a high traffic time.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Nice restaurant and beautiful decorated. It was clean as well. Service was good and fast. The food was nicely seasoned. Ordered a chicken breast and leg (dark) with Mac and cheese and a side of greens. The chicken was delicious and super moist. The Mac and cheese was too cheesy, so it was just "ok." The greens were good, but we're swimming in liquid. I had to drain my greens, but other than that, they were delicious. Nice visit all in all.

Laura A.

Yelp
Another great visit. Super crowded at 2pm when we arrived but we were able to find a two top table inside after ordering. Waited a bit longer than usual but totally understandable since it was packed. Loved my Cobb salad with brisket and the poppers. The wings were okay, really big but I prefer my wings crispy. Service was great as always.

Shacity U.

Yelp
I went to the location by Jax's beach's There was no sign so a little hard to find if you have never been there. Ordering was easy when you first walk in and its seat yourself. The food was ok. Nothing great about it. It was normal barbecued food. We did have someone from the party had to send their sandwich back cause it was cold. They got another one and that was cold too. It was also hard to get a waiter. They come out to bring the food and leave. They don't come around to see if you're ok or need something. It was overall a ok experience.

Abigail D.

Yelp
I'm such a fan of this place, from the vibe to the ridiculously great food! The best food I've had during my visit to Jacksonville. So much flavor and the bbq'd meat was so tender & juicy! Service was excellent. Wonderful indoor and outdoor seating. Such a great vibe to enjoy great food with great company. I wish they sold bottles of their sauces! Highly recommend!

Jacob V.

Yelp
This is my go to for Pulled Pork. The San Marco BBQ secondary here. The food is always amazing and the staff is always friendly! The bar serves great drinks!

Fern T.

Yelp
One of the top BBQ places in Jacksonville. Always fresh and great tasting food, never a bad experience. Definitely a place we always come back to and never disappoints. Try and you'll enjoy it!

Kristen H.

Yelp
Dang did I really forget to review this? How could I. We tried every meat available, including pulled chicken, turkey, smoked sausage, ribs, something else. It was the end of the night and they'd just changed their closing time to 9pm instead of 10pm so we missed out on burnt ends and some other stuff. Also got a couple sides including the beans which were something else. Seat yourself and wipe yourself with paper towels. Good service, good food, good prices, popular but not crowded. I vouch for it.

Jack C.

Yelp
Great bbq! Area feels safer and outdoor seating is under shade and cool. We got the San Marco plate- brisket was great, ribs were just okay, pulled pork was really good, and chicken was dry. We also got the poutine that was interesting and worth trying. Sweet and sour beans were unique and sweet potato fries were fantastic. Potato salad had lots of mustard and Mac n cheese was standard. We enjoyed all the different kinds of sauces and wide variety of cocktails. Prices were reasonable, ~10-15 for appetizers and ~15-20 for entrees.

Trina W.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with friends while visiting the area. They have a private lot with plenty of spaces to park. Once you go in, you'll get in line to order then find your own table to sit at. I think we got lucky as there was not a line when we got there. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a bar that offer both as well. The ambiance at night is great. At each table, you can choose from 5 different sauces. My favorite was the Sweet Spot and The Drizz. My husband and I got the San Marco Platter, which consists of 1/4 Rack Ribs + 1/4 Chicken + 1/4 Lb Each Of 2 Meats + 2 Sides. We got the Brisket and Pulled Pork for the meats and Mac-N-Cheese and Sweet & Sour Beans for the sides. We also got an extra side of the Bearded Poutine. The brisket was by far the best of the meats. You're able to choose whether you want lean, fatty, or a combination when you order. The pulled pork was a close second. The ribs were tough to eat and did not fall off the bone and the chicken was honestly so dry. In terms of the sides, I'd go for the Sweet & Sour Beans and the Bearded Poutine. The Mac-N-Cheese was honestly a joke. The type of pasta they used just does not complement the cheese. The cheese pretty much sits on top. My husband even said that he prefers the boxed Mac & Cheese over this. I would probably go back here again, but would definitely stick to the brisket and pulled pork.

Matt W.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch, line out the door, but ordering wasn't too long. Tried the brisket sandwich with potato salad and Mac. Brisket had tons of flavor good fat mix. Really liked the non traditional potato salad! Did take a while to get food so plan accordingly. Def worth a stop if in area.

Calvin N.

Yelp
First time in last night sat at the bar and had a great meal. The bartender was great very busy but still super attentive. The only have full service at the bar all table service is QSR service. Had the smoked turkey sandwich add jalapeños and the stuffed jalapeños for an appetizer. Both were extremely good and very filling. Great ambiance lively crowd, in door and patio seating.

Joe K.

Yelp
I hadn't visited the BP since it was next to Locals. I will say everything has improved since then. That tiny building was a stressful place to try and order before. Now there is ample space to sit. The food was better than i recall and the pig punch was delicious. I've been a couple times now and love it. I eat the mixed brisket sandwich each time. It's so good. But I'll skip the potato salad in the future.

Ana Maria G.

Yelp
The best smoked bbq in Jax!!! Everything was so tasty, didn't have extra seasoning and fast to serve. Recommend this place for anyone craving some meat.

Alex A.

Yelp
Good food and the atmosphere was perfect. We were visiting and came across this gem that allows you to bring your pup. Soooo good food was delicious and drinks were perfect.

Connie Y.

Yelp
Ok listen up- 5 stars on Yelp does not mean a 5 star restaurant! Lol If you want delicious barbecue in a fun atmosphere- here it is! Come by when you're hungry. Bring the family. Relaxed, chill, and yum. Nuff said. Lol

Torsten E.

Yelp
Great food great atmosphere , worthwhile to check in and have a great meal. The service was awesome.

Cheryl H.

Yelp
Always consistent...Love the food & vibe. I definitely recommend! Lots of room for larger parties & everything is spaced out so you're not on top of the other patrons.

Angelica C.

Yelp
First time and I'm in love! The best bbq I have put in my mouth! Mac n cheese was to die for brisket and pulled pork amazing. The jalapeno poppers were incredible!

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Pretty good pulled pork, sausage and chicken imo. Baked beans are on point too. Cole slaw was average. Brisket is really good for the area. Prices are inline with other local shops and the two location are spaced out reasonably.

Matt M.

Yelp
My original review was on the old location, but you can read it below this update to the new location. It is not really new, I just have not been to this location before. It is very close to the original location but this one has BETTER PARKING. Each location has inside and outside locations, most of the time I prefer to eat outside. Counter service restaurant but service is strong so if you need something, raise your hand and someone will come by to help you. They are committed to customer service. But you really want to know about the food, don't you? (Good barbecue always starts with the sauce) Pepper Vinegar - on the table for the collard greens, but works on fries too. Trust me. Ghost Pepper Sauce - does not bowl you over with heat, but has a wonderful subtle flavor. Trust me, you want to try it. Sweet Spot - normally this is my sauce, and they do it well, but it is not the star in my opinion. Drizz - to me, this is the star of the show. Mustard based, with a sweet tang that is quite pleasant and perks up your taste buds. Salad - green, fresh but eat only as a means to clean the way for more BBQ. Beans - five beans soaked in Drizz sauce with pickled onions, I think they are FANTASTIC, but if you love traditional bank beans in heavy sauce, it is quite different. Baked Potato - baked and covered in your choice of meat and one side. (I suggest you get the sour cream and cheese on the side as it gets messy.) The Kings Sandwich - piled high, hard to eat without getting messy, but sometimes messy is good. Brisket - here is the one dish that put them on the map. Brisket lean or brisket fatty, your choice but the flavor is incredible. Love this location, nicer than the original but still has the soul of who they were when they were starting out. I really did not think I would like this upgrade as I have seen multiple restaurants expand and lose what made them special. Not here, same good food, same great service.

Yelp
Counter service. Lunch and happy hour specials. Nice patio seating. The fries were served hot. They were not skmipy shorts. They were crispy outside and pillowy soft inside....all of the fries. They were all cooked evenly. No extra crispy crumbs and no undercooked thick peices. The brisket was tender. We had the option of fatty, lean, or combo cut. The combo cut was great. The pulled pork was great. The burnt ends were superior. This was not an after thought peice of meat shaved off. The seasoning and char were excellent. I had a small fattier peice that was heavenly. The bun held up just long enough to eat without becoming soggy. The pigtails were ok. A little heavy onn ginger beer for the bourbon based mule. The Kentucky tea was a bit better but barely. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. A 4.5/5 experience.

Yelp
The place was very crowded for a Thursday morning at 11:30am, which was impressive. We were able to sit at the bar and get going pretty quickly. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious. I generally don't ever "crave" BBQ, but I can definitely see myself craving this pulled pork sandwich. It was flavorful and not dry at all. The mac-n-cheese, however, I really wasn't impressed by. I think the penne pasta is doing the mac-n-cheese a disservice, honestly. It is probably on the lower end of the spectrum of all mac-n-cheese's I've ever had. Harley was our server at the bar and she was great! Very sweet and attentive.

Yelp
A huge shout out to the bearded pig! Finally! I traveled the distance and found some good ole bbq! I only had to drive 5 hours to Jacksonville to discover them, but it was well worth the long journey. We met some nice ppl at our hotel that recommended this spot so we had to try it. We have been searching high and low/tried every bbq place in soflo only to be disappointed each time. We tried the ribs, coleslaw, collard greens and the Mac n cheese. I'll start out by saying, The spare ribs were perfectly tender, dry rubbed and had a delicious crust. I could have done without the mediocre sides. All I'm saying, is when is south Florida going to get on board w some good bbq ribs?? If you're in the Jax area and love ribs.. try this spot!

Yelp
Yesterday I went for some take out and the place was extremely crowded. I waited what I thought was a long time but people were getting $500 orders to go. I ordered a whole rack of ribs , smoked wings, collard greens, potato salad, and fries and a yam and everything was excellent. People were cordial and the restaurant looked very clean. The ribs were huge with a lot of flavor and meat . Definitely going back.

Yelp
Ok, anywhere I travel to I am going to try their local BBQ Joint that has the best ratings... and this place did not disappoint! Tight parking lot when they're busy but was able to order fast. I wished they would of had a homemade lemonade but they just had a fountain station. First time here so I wanted to try so much. They had some platters but they were a ton of food. I wished they had a smaller version of a platter somehow. But. I got the some brisket, smoked sausage, potato salad, and mac and cheese. Food took longer to come out than I expected since most of it should already be cooked and ready to go. But, the wait was worth it, it gave me time to check out the 5 sauces they had available on the table. My favorite for the brisket was the OG. My favorite on the sausage was The Drizz. The Sweet Spot was nice. And if I got pork. I would throw the Pepper Vinager on it. Anyways, both meats were delicious! The mac and cheese was very creamy and a nice sized side portion. The potato salad I didn't like. I'm not sure why. Just expected it different. The taste wasn't terrible but just not the flavor for me. And then I have never had a potato salad before that had green beans in it. I would absolutely recommend this place if you're close by and looking for good BBQ and I hope to be back soon to have some more.
