The Best Restaurants on Nantucket | Eater Boston

"In 2024, Chef Felino Samson opened Misogi Noodle Bar in the space of his and partner Amy Young’s former restaurant The Beet. Though Misogi does of course serve noodles, that’s just the beginning of the pan-Asian menu. You’ll also find soy-marinated Korean eggs, Filipino chicken inasal, and five-spice duck legs." - Celina Colby

The 18 Best Restaurants In Nantucket - Nantucket - The Infatuation

"There’s always that moment on vacation when you just want a big salad or grain bowl, and the Beet is where you should go when those cravings hit. This quick and easy counter-service spot has high-top seating inside, and outdoor seating shielded by bright umbrellas. They have options like mu shu duck, miso-glazed brussel sprouts, and of course, a full bar, because you need a few drinks with your meal on vacation (or just because). " - Tanya Edwards

A delicious and creative menu - check out this cute little place for a quick bite. Casual and rustic but fun - and great for a group. The shrimp noodles were incredibly tasty as were the vegetable dumplings- the best I’ve ever had! Also try the charred broccoli and the bbq spare ribs. I was really excited to try the miso truffle cod but it was very salty - although that was disappointing everything else was fabulous. Ride your bikes there it makes for a totally Nantucket experience!

This restaurant seems to be trying a little too hard to be everything at once, there’s no clear identity or consistent energy, which made the atmosphere feel a bit scattered. That said, it didn’t take away from the quality of the food or the overall experience. The wine wise they had a decent selection with fair pricing. We started with the octopus, which was beautifully delicate, though it came on a bed of what seemed to be taro, unfortunately too mushy and not the best pairing. The truffle cod was the highlight: cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and nicely complemented by microgreens, which also worked well with the octopus. We ended the meal by sharing the ramen special of the night. It was generous in size and rich in flavor, definitely comforting. The space itself felt a bit too dark and moody for my taste, which clashed with the eclectic menu and overall tone. Still, despite the identity confusion, it was an enjoyable dinner.

The food is mediocre at best. First, they served us raw shrimp “har gao.” See photo (inside is completely raw shrimp). We then were a bit icked out once we were given that dish. Additionally, what was served is not har gao, more so a large shumai. We had the vegetable gyoza/steamers, and honestly they were simply not good. The flavor was lacking, but it was weird that the inside was a mix of puree and whole veggies. And then we had the fried rice and it was mediocre. Meat was not flavorful but the rice was so-so. Atmosphere was fine. Definitely wouldn’t go back!

Quality, deliciously prepared meals. Every dish was excellent. Service was terrible from front of the house, to bar to server. They seemed more interested in chatting with loval bar “friends” them tending to guests at tables in a timely manner.

Another review where I wish I could do 4.5 stars. The Beet was good. We would return, but have a couple of wishes. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, which were good overall, but would have been better with more flakiness and a bit less central mush. I had the Korean BBQ quesadilla which was the best of what we ordered. It was fantastic and the scallion pancake as “tortilla” was superb. Loved the pork. The menu indicated the side of slaw would have pineapple in it, but I didn’t detect it. And I could have done with less BBQ sauce (too much on the top). But overall I loved the dish. My wife got the chicken burger and it was tasty. While you might appreciate a good amount of meat, the burger was really too thick, especially in comparison to a brioche bun that got soggy way too quickly. Her sweet potato fries were excellent, perfectly crispy. Service was okay. It was busy, but could have been better. The drink (water) service was great, always coming around to refill which is good for me as I drink a lot. But we waited a bit to get the check. Not a huge deal. Overall, very good.

Google
Great spot. Was hoping for more noodle dishes given the name. Best to share a bunch of dishes, roughly 2 per person. It was hot when we were there, could have used some AC during dinner.

Delicious food with rich taste and wonderfully presented dishes. Make sure to try beet lemonade - it is so freaking good and refreshing! The place is amazing - super clean, comfortable seatings, very attentive people. Nice place with healthy food.

Google
Cute little spot. The dinner menu is ok. Great place for vegetarians and pescatarian. Couple options for meat lovers like me. The Felinos fry rice was great. I had really high hope for the Bao Buns and the Korean Quesadilla, and i left disappointed. The Coctails were amazing !!! Great lunch options. Personal opinion that lunch is better than the dinner. Definitely will stop by for that spicy margarita.

Yelp
Started with the vegetable dumplings and the pok pok chicken because I had read good things. The vegetable dumplings were really good, but the pok pok chicken was outstanding. It's basted in a sweet chili sauce and covered in crispy garlic. One of those "I'd put that **** on anything" moments. The only downside to the dumplings was they were stuck on a crispy rice wafer and hard to separate. Then came the entrees. We threw caution to the wind and got some expensive dishes - lobster palavok style ($55) and the alkaline noodles with wagyu brisket ($45). The noodles were delicious on both. Very interesting flavors going on. But the proteins got us. There was a good amount of lobster, but pieces were surprisingly chewy. And maybe it's just because I've never been blessed to have wagyu beef before, but it wasn't that different from stew meat for me. Extremely tender, but also just eh. I feel like those proteins really inflated the prices, but didn't add much. Next time, I'll stick with the small plates.

Yelp
I will post here if the owner honors the gift certificate for the owners former business as required by who ever wrote the rules (laws?) that cover gift certificates. So far no response from owner- chef to three emails sent over three week.otherwise I'll stop in the business to see if I can talk with the owner. Myself and my wife are long time year round residents of Nantucket.

Yelp
The place is small and cozy, warmly lit and has a few small outside tables that typically need a reservation. The staff is very friendly but not overly attentive - we had to ask for things. The food is very mediocre and highly priced for what it is - but good for Nantucket, which greatly (and shockingly) lacks any culinary know-how, even for seafood. 1. Dumplings (not pictured) were very good - 5 out of 5 However, our other dishes were as follows: 2. Lobster noodles - lobster was chewy like rubber. It lay on a bed of ever-so-slightly firm rice noodles. The entire dish lacked visual appeal and had fairly mild flavor - which was not that of lobster. 3. Muscles were large, which is neither here nor there for me. Several bottom ones were NOT opened and so we could not eat them as they were likely not cooked through. They lay on a bed of rice noodles, which lacked any flavor. The thin broth below the noodles had some boiled jalapeño slices which added little flavor, plus a single green bean and a tasty but single tiny tomato. I had to ask for "anything" to add more flavor, though the cooked-through muscles were good. 4. Maybe I missed which dish it was supposed to accompany but we were brought a bowl of rice with some fried garlic bits all over the top. I was happy to have that! I give them 3 as an AVERAGE score. On its own, the food is a 2 or a 1 out of 5 if one considers the presentation and esp the lack of unifying (or much) flavor. However, given that this is Nantucket - so this place vs pizza or sandwiches - they fair better mainly due to lack of competition. For Service and Ambiance they score 4. That's why their average score is about a 3 for me.

Yelp
Ordered the Thai basil salad for lunch and it was delicious and authentic - huge size too! Service was great and fast.

Yelp
Terrible service. Made a reservation for 4 for lunch, we arrived on time-no tables available. They gave our table away. After 10 minutes they offered that if we sat at the bar they'd give us free appetizers and buy us a drink and that we'd get the next table that was about to leave. We did, after 30 minutes we got a table. it took another half hour and the delivered 1 appetizer. we asked for the other three, which took another half hour. At this point we said to cancel our entrees. They said they'd be out in a few minutes. Wrong another 20 minutes. By this time we ate half, asked for boxes to go and the check. They billed us for all the appetizers, we complained and they said that they only offered two free appetizers. Sure for four people. Got stuck paying for two and the four entrees. Food was good, but never again!
