"More than two dozen draft beers and ciders share the stage with a half-dozen sausages (including chicken, lamb and veal varieties) and falafel sandwiches at this Georgetown spot. Selections range from local D.C., Maryland and Virginia brewers like Solace and DC Brau all the way to producers from Cologne, Germany. Generous outdoor table space fills out the footprint beneath the Key Bridge in Georgetown." - Travis Mitchell

"It’s not just sausage at Georgetown’s new German beer hall the Berliner: the Washington Post’s Maura Judkis visited the modern replacement for Malmaison and found that “grain salad with red quinoa, rye berries, delicata squash and spinach was a surprise hit.” More traditional fare like soft pretzels also had her “scraping every last morsel of cheese out of the cup,” but she deemed salty soy-marinated eggs and dry currywurst a miss." - Adele Chapin

Great beer hall with a solid German beer list and delicious German food offerings. We had the currywurst with the Berliner Brat, the deviled eggs, and the pretzel- all were delicious and complimented the many beer options. Note- on a hot day when all the doors are open, the place can get hot. They have plenty of fans to keep it cool, just choose your spot wisely.

Perfect summer vibes! Drinking beer, eating sausages, and catching the pulse of the city while seated outside, there’s not much better atmosphere on a midsummer day. There was a DJ busting some tunes and a massive selection of drafts on tap. Paired with quintessential German foods The Berliner is a must stop in the Georgetown area. Get a pretzel, have a brat, and wash it all down with a liter of beer or two ;)

It’s a decent place, there’s a large selection of beers but you have to go up to the bar and order the food yourself. They were busy when we went, so there was a line to stand in while we waited to order. Their hot dogs have a good taste and after we ordered, our drinks were poured immediately and our food came out pretty quick. There is a sign that says there’s an automatic gratuity added to your bill, I think it was 20%, so no surprise there. Fun place to get together with friends and have a few drinks, but it highly recommend a reservation as pretty much all the tables were full

The beer was good however, not as cold as I usually like my tap beer. I had the sausage hash, being that I don't eat pork they were more than happy to give me chicken sausage as a substitute. It was amazing and would order it again when I stop by next time. The atmosphere there is what you make it, you can hang out with friends and enjoy their picnic bench tables, have a couples meal together with a table for two only or sit on the concrete style bleachers and enjoy a beer and a good book (which 3 or 4 were doing at the time I was eating). This place is tuck away and almost have to go to the end of the street were it meets park trail and several boat shops. I highly recommend this place for large group of friends, couple dining or the perfect day to get away and catch up on some beer and reading.

Absolutely amazing!! With COVID I can't travel to Germany and I have been dreaming about a good currywurst. This place has it! Plus great beer, an assortment of awesome German food, and a wonderful indoor/outdoor seating. You order at the bar and take a number to your table making things very easy. Love it!! Highly recommend.

Great little beer spot with plenty of seating and really nice service. You can try anything on tap And the guy serving us was just super hospital. They have a ton of small seats inside along with an upper area for busier nights. There’s also an outdoor area. I love the staircase benches lined with pillows if you were just looking to chill on a weekday afternoon. Tap selection is great. The bartender is really helpful in giving recommendations. Would love to come back to chill

Amazing Hot Dogs! First off, I am not a fan of this part of DC, the scene just isn't for me. Too busy, crowded, hipster for my tastes, but I was in the area and starving. I noticed this place while looking for nearby restaurants and boy am I glad I did! I had been craving a good dog for months and this place hit the spot. The bar is clean but a little hot since its open to the outside but its definitely worth checking out. My recommendation is to try the frankfurter with sauerkraut, caramelized onions and the chili sauce! and add a little bit of the amazing curry ketchup (not too much or it will overpower everything else!)

Great selection of food, pretty authentic German options with a twist. The wurst sausage was incredible with the ground mustard and chili on top - everything was very unique and high quality. Make a reservation since it’s probably packed on weekends. Location is also relaxing as they open the windows during the summer and dogs can sit outside.
