10 Go-To Meals Under $10 In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"A breakfast sandwich from this VaHi whole butcher shop is just $10, but we’d gladly pay double for this meaty magnum opus. Your choice of housemade bacon or sausage (there’s no wrong option) sits on a stuffed brioche bun alongside red onion, arugula, a fluffy egg, a glob of mayo, and tomme cheese. Aside from the price, the real appeal is that this breakfast sandwich is served until 4pm every day of the week. Scoop one and post up at one of the small sidewalk tables to take in the quaint charm of the neighborhood." - jacinta howard, juli horsford

Where to Find Gloriously Gooey Grilled Cheese Sandwiches in D.C. | Eater DC

"The 9-to-5 set flocks to this Franklin Square cafe to start the day with an under-$5 “TBSP” grilled cheese sandwich until 10:30 a.m. After that, patrons can pick their own cheese to built a melty lunchtime creation on sourdough." - Vinciane Ngomsi

Google
What a hidden gem in an oasis of overrated, overpriced lunch options! The customer service is top notch and they don't miss a beat. What a refreshing option for a quick and affordable bite in the vicinity. No lines, no gimmicks, just honest and impeccable high quality ingredients! Do you have an early or late morning or afternoon meeting? Well, here's your spot, folks! Skip all the super long lines and garbage food and hop on over. Some of the very best sandwich meal specials in town with some of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had - it'll literally knock your socks right off! I don't know what the average person thinks about sandwich accessibility in Washington, but it's always left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). I've quite literally had the most terrible sandwiches imaginable here in the town, always with the promise of a great sandwich. Baloney! (pun intended, although I've never sampled baloney here). Plus the array of choices are just endless. You won't regret it! Times are really tough these days and every dollar really counts, why waste it on another pricey, subpar breakfast or lunch experience? GO NOW, and invite your colleagues!

Google
The sandwiches were excellent, and the staff was friendly. We were looking for a light lunch and found it here. We enjoyed our meal outside, with a nice view of the park and buildings nearby. We tried the Pastrami Melt and the Pastrami & Corned Beef Melt, both of which were delicious. The place gets crowded, but the line moves quickly. Most customers order takeout, although there is some seating available inside and outside.

Google
I’m not a sandwich person, but even I make an exception for this place. People lose their minds over all the sandwiches here, and honestly, I’ve never fully understood the hype. But the Chicken Caesar Wrap? That I get. It’s hands down the best in D.C. You can choose fried or grilled chicken, and both are equally fantastic. The flavors are sharp, the wrap is fresh, and it just hits in a way most sandwiches don’t. The service is always on point. The staff are smiling, friendly, and clearly trying to keep the line moving so everyone gets fed fast. The ambiance is regular cafeteria vibes, but when the food is the star, why bother with the rest? I don’t come here all the time, but every once in a while, I find myself craving that wrap like nothing else. It’s that good.

Google
Experience was 0. I order a meatball sub we sat inside the place to eat once I received my sandwich the bread was soggy like it had be sitting for hours only 2 smashed meatballs and cheap cheese. The meatball sub was disappointed and disgusting. I asked to have the sandwich remade or a different sandwich the owner a woman that was rude said no because I can’t sale it. I didn’t eat the sandwich I give it back it was trash and disgusting I left the sandwich on the counter. Her customer service skill are disrespectful and disgusting just like the sandwich. Say away !!!

Google
With such a bold claim as a name, there is a certain right to hold at least a little bit of skepticism. However, these were some of the best sandwiches I've had in DC. Great location, fresh ingredients, quick service. No complaints here. Try the Pastrami Bacon Sub, I highly recommend it!

Mariana S.

Google
I found this place through TikTok and ordered the popular Caesar salad wrap and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the wrap and the service was fast. They had many types of sandwiches, wraps, rice bowls, etc to choose from.

Anushka M.

Google
Very convenient for a quick lunch spot! The best sandwich place has a large variety of sandwiches and salads to order or customize. Service is quick and in an easy location. The chipotle chicken melt was delicious with a Sun dried tomato pesto and grilled chicken. The crispy chicken melt was similar but came with a spicy mayo. Both were great and satisfying.

Google
SUPER FRESH ! Very clean , Made custom sandwiches without writing the 4 down and it came out perfect . Staff friendly and attentive . A great breakfast before we leave DC . Thank you to the owner !

Yelp
Wow, the sandwiches were really good! The staff were friendly and welcoming. We're from out of town and wanted a light lunch, and these sandwiches were perfect. We got to enjoy them outside, with a beautiful park and surrounding buildings right across from us. We ordered the Pastrami Melt, the Pastrami & Corned Beef Melt, and one more (can't remember, but it was good too!). The pastrami sandwiches were delicious. The place can get pretty crowded, but the line moves quickly. Most people order takeout, though they do offer some seating both inside and outside.

Yelp
Finally made it to this spot where I've heard mixed reviews on TikTok, mostly good ones! Not a big spot, so if you go during a rush, expect it to be a long line out the door.... It's very confusing which area you order the hot and cold items unless you been before because I didn't see any signs. Yes. I stood in the wrong line that was long and didn't know til I got up to the counter and told them what I wanted. reason I gave it 3 stars because the server lady that fixed my food was very rude towards me. Why? only because I noticed she was scrapping the bottom of the bowl where they store the lettuce, so she can make my wrap. I asked politely can I get the fresh bowl of lettuce please. She proceeds to look and roll her eyed and spoke in Spanish to her coworkers and they all looked at me and started laughing. I ordered the viral Ceaser salad wrap with a side of buffalo sauce ;) I must say it was delicious and fulfilling. I couldn't eat the other half in one setting. My meal came up to 15.99. w/ chips and canned soda It is on the pricey side lol, but I would go back to try the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich .

Yelp
This is a spot that has become an easy go-to lunch location when I go to Washington DC. When you walk in, especially in peak hours, there are two lines- one to order sandwiches and the other to order salads. Then you order, wait for your food, and then pay. You may have to wait a little bit, especially if it is busy and you order a hot sandwich- but it is worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
The name says it all!! This is the best sandwich place in dc. And I will rarely get anything other than the chicken Caesar salad wrap! It's hands down the best and biggest of its kind you'll ever have. They don't mess around in there and they crank out the sandwiches during lunch hour, but the staff has always been really friendly. It is always crowded, but that's when you know it's a go to weekday lunch spot. My only complaint is that they aren't open on weekends!!
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch today and they had the best tuna sub sandwich I've ever had. A couple of my work colleagues had been here before, but today was my first time. I was amazed to see how extensive their menu is and so many of their sub sandwiches caught my attention. I couldn't find calorie listings but I'm sure that the tuna sandwich seemed to be the most healthiest by far. They also have some great juice and I purchased an orange mango fruit drink. The service was fast, but there was a wait to be seated, so we took our food to go. We all sat at a nearby park and had lunch there. I would love to try their grilled chicken sandwich the next I come here.

Yelp
Hey friends! As everyone else says. This place lives up to the name! It really was the best sandwich! I ordered the Italian Cheesesteak with a bag of chips($16). First of all, I really do appreciate finding a quality meal under $20 in DC! The sandwich was amazing! The bread was perfectly toasted and all the flavors came together beautifully. The sandwich had the right amount of sauce to not compromise the toast of the bread. Will order it again! Customer service was good. Bathroom was clean. Paid street parking is available out front. I'm often in the area for work so I will be a repeat customer. Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Yelp
I wish I could have tried more sandwiches! Efficient bustling lunch spot. My middle aged ass got confused with the chaotic order process but the owners were able to keep me on track to get my sandwich. Biggest regret is I didn't have time to make it back again.
google avatar

Yelp
Ever since I started working in D.C. this is my place to go for lunch (yes i am poor now). It's ALWAYS busy and the owners are super adorable. It's so financial district coded as the food is done quickly and you get exactly what you ask for. I've tried their salads and sandwiches which are all great. Their buffalo chicken salad is my favorite but I have yet to venture out of the caesar world. It's a very clean environment and feels like any modern cafe. A place to be with the busy people of DC.

Yelp
Had a solo meal here recently, and needing a rather quick dash in and out this fast-casual style spot fir the bill perfectly. Longish line to order, but it moved fairly rapidly and efficiently. I ordered one of their more popular choices, the crispy chicken melt. As the weather was decent, I sat at one of the small streetside / outside tables to enjoy the hot sammie. It came served on a crispy sourdough roll filled with a baked chicken breast, topped with garlic sun-dried tomato pesto and melted provolone cheese. It was hearty and filling and did the trick. Would love to try other sandwich varieties on my next visit.

Yelp
I was participating in DC Fintech week so I am not from the area and I just stopped in. I had the Rueben and it was off the hook so I will definitely return on my trips to the capital.
google avatar

TeeHee G.

Yelp
Nothing beats a quick good sandwich spot. The banh mi was surprisingly super good. I ordered 3 different sandwiches and that one was my favorite. Their workers are friendly and ready to get you in and out of there! Parking is pretty non existent though. Would recommend coming by uber or if you're in walking distance definitely do that!
google avatar

Brian P.

Yelp
When your name is "The Best Sandwich Place" you have to have your A game. To that point they did not disappoint. A great variety of sandwiches, subs both hot and cold and some really nice salads. Service was very quick and friendly. This is a good stop to grab a quick lunch. Eat inside or outside and even venture over to the park across the street.
google avatar

Jerran N.

Yelp
The internet definitely hyped this wrap. I'm an avid Caesar Salad guy and this was pretty subpar. Nothing amazing. Not wrapped tight. Basic Caesar salad in a wrap. I at least expected a spinach wrap. The line was long. Took about 20 minutes. They actually forgot one of the sandwiches I ordered that was listed on the paper. I won't be back.
google avatar

Felicia Y.

Yelp
I placed a large takeout order around 1pm on a Friday and it was ready for pickup within 15 minutes. I was weary of the estimated time since there were multiple individual sandwiches, but pleased to find that it was ready when we arrived 15 min later. These sandwiches may seem plain or basic, but they all have a little twist that makes them tasty. I got the smoked turkey, which seemed like a basic turkey, mayo, tomato sandwich, but had some flavor bombs mixed inside. I think it was roasted red peppers or pickles, but whatever it was completed the sandwich and elevated it from normal to fantastic. Super super solid sandwich shop
google avatar

Krista C.

Yelp
Stopped in while visiting DC to get their famous chicken ceasar wrap. At least 3 people in line behind me did the same thing. It was tasty for sure and a lot of food but not life changing the way I would have hoped! Would come back to try other sandwiches though!
google avatar

Kikue H.

Yelp
This really is The Best Sandwich Place. If you're looking for lunch in DC, you've gotta stop by. The portobello melt comes with provolone and fig jam which go together so well with the nice smoky flavor of the mushrooms. Not to mention the freshly toasted sourdough bread it's packaged in. And the banh mi was quite possibly one of the best I've ever had -- definitely not traditional but definitely delicious. The sriracha mayo adds the spice, the daikon slaw is sweet and tangy and the pork meatballs are so juicy and add so much wonderful umami flavor. With how packed it was at lunch time, it seems like everything else on the menu is just as good. It's also pretty reasonably priced for DC which was a major plus!
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
3.5-4 stars! Food was really tasty! Main complaints are portion size being way too small for price & they had no French fries or combo options. Other than that, food was yummy enough that I'd come back :).
google avatar

Adam N.

Yelp
Meh. Maybe I'm spoiled by NYC Delis but this place wasn't great. Bread was not fresh. I got a turkey sandwich and would rate it a 5.5 out of 10, mostly because the bread sucked. Customer service was not great. They have crazy dividers over the counter so the workers can hardly hear your order. Won't likely go again.
google avatar

Love K.

Yelp
I wouldn't necessarily call it the best sandwich place. I came here for a breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg, and cheese) and was underwhelmed by the lack of flavor. The sandwich was super dry. Allegedly they make their bread in house but it did not taste fresh. I felt like I needed a sauce of some sort to flavor the sandwich. Hubs felt the same with his breakfast wrap. I had to walk back in line to request a hot sauce. I was quite disappointed as I had other breakfast spots on my list that I should have checked out instead. Pass.
google avatar

Alexis R.

Yelp
Yes - this place does live up to its name! I've gotten 3 types of sandwiches from here before and each time didn't disappoint. Service was fairly fast as well. I have tried the chicken caesar salad wrap, the chiptole grilled chicken melt, and the crispy chicken melt and each has been delicious! I highly recommend the chiptole grilled chicken melt. The only downside is it is a bit pricey and they close early and are closed on the weekend, so if you don't work in the city, it will be hard to get.
google avatar

Lily S.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap online after hearing amazing things. It was made and ready to pick up when I arrived, but looking around at the menu, it's definitely a go to lunch spot that I'll be back to for more sandwiches. The chicken Caesar wrap lived up to all expectations and hit the spot. It was huge, in a delicious wrap, and had a perfect ratio of ingredients. The lettuce was crunchy, the chicken was plentiful, and the dressing was just the right amount. Chicken Caesar wraps are rare in dc, so I'm so glad to have tried this one!!
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
Calling all vegetarians! The Best Sandwich Place's name is accurate. Their eggplant mozzarella melt is truly delicious. The staff is also extremely welcoming and the service is impeccable.
google avatar

Nichelle B.

Yelp
This is my go to for a Chicken Cesar Wrap add Buffalo sauce! It's quick and delicious fresh. There are soooo many options from wraps to salads to bowls. The service is great and there's seating if you're not on the go. If you come for lunch, expect it to be packed.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Honestly, I was expecting to be disappointed but oh man, I was shocked by how good the sandwich was. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and the service was surprisingly good considering the way in which the ordering process happens. Restaurant is decently sized for eating in, but it's clearly meant as a takeout place. I had the crispy chicken sandwich to share with my son and it was absolutely fantastic. One of the best store bought sandwiches I've had, ever. This place will remain on my bookmark list, really awesome sandwich.

Ashton L.

Yelp
The Best Sandwich Place is my go to stop for my corporate salad lunch lol. But in all actuality, I never feel skimped on the servings, the ingredients are fresh, and while hectic (bc half of downtown is also there to get their corporate salads) the staff there are super heroes. They get you in and out at lightening speed and honestly I salute them. I must recommend the Kale and Wild Rice salad, it never does me wrong.
google avatar

Matt U.

Yelp
I had a couple hours to kill before a flight, and was looking for some sustenance that involved both meat and bread... This place was literally the perfect spot! I have no idea where I was in Washington DC, but it was within about six blocks of the Marriott near the White House. It was a quick walk over, and being was lunchtime, there were plenty of other folks looking for food as well. Despite being an incredibly long line, they made quick work of it. The guys and gals here do a wonderful job of taking orders and getting things made in a timely manner. Sandwiches, salads and wraps are all at your disposal. I had a pastrami melt. It was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Meat late on thick, some delicious Russian dressing, and a hard boiled egg carved into the middle. Having meat give an egg a hug inside your sandwich is one of the true simple joys of life! There was seating for about 25 people, but most people got their things to go. If you're in the area and looking for lunch, this is a perfect spot to stop, grab some thing and then eat in the park across the way. it's worth your time to check it out!
google avatar

Patricia S.

Yelp
We placed our order over the phone and it was ready by the time we arrived! We both got the chicken Caesar wrap and it did not disappoint! Very yummy and fresh. We also got a side of their buffalo sauce which was really good - not sure if it was homemade but it definitely seemed like it! There's a nice park outside across the street with tables and benches which is a perfect spot to eat.
google avatar

Gloria M.

Yelp
The buffalo chicken caesar wrap is so good! The wrap is soft, salad is fresh with just a drizzle of buffalo for a kick, and hard boiled eggs. Usually get this delivered and it travels well, wrapped and in a foil container.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
Ordered the rib eye melt. Good but I wouldn't claim that this is the "best" sandwich. Lines don't flow very well & gets jumbled & crowded, especially during lunch hour rush since the place isn't that big.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
I stopped by here for lunch on a weekday, and the place was absolutely packed. Pretty confusing ordering system; there are multiple lines depending on whether you want melts, sandwiches, etc., but then all the lines merge into one at the cashier, so you just have to track your sandwich so they give it to the right person. Combined with the mass of customers, it wasn't a great ordering experience. I got the crispy chicken melt, and overall, it was solid. The chicken was super crispy, which was great, but the sourdough, despite being clearly toasted, lacked a great crunch which I think would have added a ton. The sauce was good too, and overall made for a enjoyable lunch. Will be back if I'm in the area!
google avatar

Dani G.

Yelp
I stopped by due to being at a conference in the area. The place was quite busy and can be a bit daunting if you don't know what ur doing. There are separate lines for salads and sandwiches so be mindful of the signs over top. You will order ur food through the separators to a person who makes the sandwich. You will then continue down the line to pay. I noticed some ppl pay after they put their order in and others pay once they get their order. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. The sandwich itself was good but I could have used a little more of the sauce that came with the sandwich. The chicken breast on the sandwich was melt in your mouth good!
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Food - 4 Service - 3 Value - 3 I wouldn't call this "the best", but the Rib Eye Melt was pretty good and we were also pretty hungry when we came here. There was a line, but it moved quickly. We did hit a little snag because they only gave us one of the two sandwiches we had ordered...so I had to re-order and wait another 5 minutes for my food.
google avatar

Sehar M.

Yelp
This place is great and has great sandwiches. I tried the chicken Caesar wrap and loved it. It looks like their other sandwiches have great reviews and can't wait to come back here when I'm back in dc. When I came in, it does get slightly confusing. I ordered online and I had no idea where to go at first to check on my order. They do have some seating inside, which was nice and some silverware to go. I suggest this place if you work close to here and looking to have a nice walk outside.
google avatar

Maggie L.

Yelp
This place is great! They have a huuuge selection of both sandwiches, salads, wraps, breakfast bagels, etc. I got an Italian sub because I was honestly a bit overwhelmed by the options but the other orders I heard sounded even better. The Italian sub was delicious, super flavorful, ingredients tasted fresh, loved it. I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Nathan N.

Yelp
This is a fast casual place that the Internet is raving about, and I can see why! It's hard to find a variety of quality sandwiches for under $12. This chicken Caesar wrap was amazing for a quick to go sandwich. It was pretty large and kept me full until the evening. TBSP has an extensive menu, so I'm looking forward to trying more. The sandwiches are made pretty quickly, but I imagine this spot gets busier during lunch since it is located near a number of offices. I went just before noon and was in and out in about 7 minutes. I definitely can't wait to try this place again!
google avatar

Tara B.

Yelp
Heard about this spot on tiktok and had to try. I got the chicken caesar salad wrap with crispy chicken and buffalo chicken melt. I'm not normally a wrap girl but loved this one! The wrap wasn't too thick. Definitely a grab and go spot. Service was quick
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
This is one of those places that if you worked nearby, it would satisfy all your lunch needs. It was a great find for us. Service is a little madcap but quick and then do a lot all at once. We got various sandwiches -- all big portioned and delish. The salads were big too and mixed. I got a Korean rice bowl with pork that was flavorful and filling. Inside isn't anything special but it's an office lunch place. And a great one at that. Just know -- you can only get them M-F because, well, it's mainly an office lunch place, right?

S. F.

Yelp
Family of five visiting Washing DC in July. Found The Best Sandwich shop on yelp with many good reviews and decided to try it. It was no surprise that it was busy, but we placed our order without much wait. It kind of reminded me of the Seinfeld episode with the "Soup Nazi", you needed to know what your order was when you stepped up, no substitutions!! (not really, they were very nice, just busy). The sandwiches were delicious, and would definitely recommend this shop for lunch or light dinner.
google avatar

Taylor D.

Yelp
Even though this is a sandwich place, don't sleep on the rice bowls! The kimchi grilled shrimp bowl is amazing. Though it is spicy, the flavors blend well together and the added mango is super refreshing. Definitely recommend.

Dave L.

Yelp
I got the chipotle chicken melt. The chicken was extremely dry and hard to chew; eating it was a chore. So much so that I threw away half of it. The flavors were OK, but surprisingly bland and boring given the type of sandwich it is. To its credit, the sourdough bread was excellent. Ordering at this place was as cumbersome as eating the food; everyone was nice, but it's confusing. You choose between the sandwich line or sandwich line, you amble about, unsure of where to order, until somebody comes to you and asks you what you want. After they make the sandwich, you then enter the salad line to go pay. The interior is lovely, like an Apple Store. But I won't be going back.
google avatar

Wilton P.

Yelp
This place should be called the Okay Sandwich Place. If you go during the weekday lunch rush, you will find lines stretching out the door for people waiting to order sandwiches, salads, or rice bowls. I ordered their Louisiana grilled shrimp sub. The nice part of this place is that the bread is very fresh and not too crusty. However, the shrimp in my sandwich wasn't seasoned and just lacked flavor overall. The prices are reasonable. I may go back to try something else, but will definitely skip the shrimp.

Jaden M.

Yelp
My wrap was pretty good. It went super quick despise how long the line was. When I go back I'll probably get double chicken and extra sauce, but that's just me. It tasted good
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Super delicious at this very casual made-to-order(mostly) sandwich, wrap, salad place. Great combo deal with chips and can of soda. Very reasonable and friendly. Plenty of seating. You order and self-serve.
google avatar

Evangeline L.

Yelp
Quality: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Came on a Thursday lunch and the place was packed! However service was super quick and they knocked out orders super quick. I got the crispy sandwich melt and was pleased, but it wasn't worth $14-$15, though that price is decent for DC. Wish the sandwich had more of a wow factor, but it was a good grab and go sandwich. Would come back again!
google avatar

Naomi M.

Yelp
DELICIOUS!!! This spectacular restaurant definitely lives up to its name. Walking in, I was immediately awe struck by the cute and modern vibes. I loved the overall layout! My friend and I's sandwiches were to die for! The flavors melted on my tongue. I got the thai chicken chili sandwich and he got the crispy chicken melt! The grilled chicken itself was cooked to perfection and the brioche bun was phenomenal. The service was quick and the workers were helpful! I will definitely be coming back and I simply MUST try their breakfast sandwiches and coffee! Would definitely recommend TBSP!
google avatar

Carling L.

Yelp
Best chicken Caesar I've ever had. Went Monday during lunch time, line moved very fast. Good price too. Can't recommend enough

Greg H.

Yelp
Perfectly named. Cannot resist the Reuben. Call ahead as even the pick up line is long.
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
I went around lunch time on a Monday and it was really busy so I ordered for pick-up from Yelp. They were fairly fast and friendly. I got the Korean Steak melt without cheese and I thought it was just ok. A lot of spicy Mayo which made it spicier than I thought it would be. The pickled vegetables were a little too sour/ pickled too. I don't think it was worth $19.
