10 Go-To Meals Under $10 In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"A breakfast sandwich from this VaHi whole butcher shop is just $10, but we’d gladly pay double for this meaty magnum opus. Your choice of housemade bacon or sausage (there’s no wrong option) sits on a stuffed brioche bun alongside red onion, arugula, a fluffy egg, a glob of mayo, and tomme cheese. Aside from the price, the real appeal is that this breakfast sandwich is served until 4pm every day of the week. Scoop one and post up at one of the small sidewalk tables to take in the quaint charm of the neighborhood." - jacinta howard, juli horsford

Google
With such a bold claim as a name, there is a certain right to hold at least a little bit of skepticism. However, these were some of the best sandwiches I've had in DC. Great location, fresh ingredients, quick service. No complaints here. Try the Pastrami Bacon Sub, I highly recommend it!

Bella Linda

Google
It was worth the 25 min walk to get here for lunch. I ordered the pastrami melt and my son ordered the ribeye melt. Both were yummy 😋 order was made fresh and quick. Everyone was friendly and polite. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Google
Experience was 0. I order a meatball sub we sat inside the place to eat once I received my sandwich the bread was soggy like it had be sitting for hours only 2 smashed meatballs and cheap cheese. The meatball sub was disappointed and disgusting. I asked to have the sandwich remade or a different sandwich the owner a woman that was rude said no because I can’t sale it. I didn’t eat the sandwich I give it back it was trash and disgusting I left the sandwich on the counter. Her customer service skill are disrespectful and disgusting just like the sandwich. Say away !!!

Google
SUPER FRESH ! Very clean , Made custom sandwiches without writing the 4 down and it came out perfect . Staff friendly and attentive . A great breakfast before we leave DC . Thank you to the owner !

Google
Leaving another review because the first time I had this place it was not good - ordered delivery. 0 stars. But I gave them another try and grabbed a wrap to-go for lunch and it was very good. Suggest getting your food here instead of ordering delivery, as the quality seems to be much better that way. The buffalo chicken caesar wrap was huge and very delicious

Google
I finally made it to this place. I always see people walking around with their salads and wraps lol. I can confirm now that this place does not disappoint. I created my own salad and the ingredients were super fresh and the service was amazing. This place is definitely a perfect spot for a quick but delicious lunch. Highly recommend.

Google
Chicken Cesar wrap never disappoints. Make sure to get a side of Buffalo sauce. I order online and its always ready on time made fresh. Love this place! Friendly staff.

Google
Delicious and large hot sandwiches with a good amount of protein. It's an efficient operation here! But people seem to like the salads even more - there were 15 people lined up for the salad counter and no wait to order sandwiches.

Yelp
Hey friends! As everyone else says. This place lives up to the name! It really was the best sandwich! I ordered the Italian Cheesesteak with a bag of chips($16). First of all, I really do appreciate finding a quality meal under $20 in DC! The sandwich was amazing! The bread was perfectly toasted and all the flavors came together beautifully. The sandwich had the right amount of sauce to not compromise the toast of the bread. Will order it again! Customer service was good. Bathroom was clean. Paid street parking is available out front. I'm often in the area for work so I will be a repeat customer. Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Yelp
When your name is "The Best Sandwich Place" you have to have your A game. To that point they did not disappoint. A great variety of sandwiches, subs both hot and cold and some really nice salads. Service was very quick and friendly. This is a good stop to grab a quick lunch. Eat inside or outside and even venture over to the park across the street.

Yelp
Ever since I started working in D.C. this is my place to go for lunch (yes i am poor now). It's ALWAYS busy and the owners are super adorable. It's so financial district coded as the food is done quickly and you get exactly what you ask for. I've tried their salads and sandwiches which are all great. Their buffalo chicken salad is my favorite but I have yet to venture out of the caesar world. It's a very clean environment and feels like any modern cafe. A place to be with the busy people of DC.
google avatar

Yelp
Meh. Maybe I'm spoiled by NYC Delis but this place wasn't great. Bread was not fresh. I got a turkey sandwich and would rate it a 5.5 out of 10, mostly because the bread sucked. Customer service was not great. They have crazy dividers over the counter so the workers can hardly hear your order. Won't likely go again.

Yelp
Best chicken Caesar I've ever had. Went Monday during lunch time, line moved very fast. Good price too. Can't recommend enough
google avatar

Yelp
Had a solo meal here recently, and needing a rather quick dash in and out this fast-casual style spot fir the bill perfectly. Longish line to order, but it moved fairly rapidly and efficiently. I ordered one of their more popular choices, the crispy chicken melt. As the weather was decent, I sat at one of the small streetside / outside tables to enjoy the hot sammie. It came served on a crispy sourdough roll filled with a baked chicken breast, topped with garlic sun-dried tomato pesto and melted provolone cheese. It was hearty and filling and did the trick. Would love to try other sandwich varieties on my next visit.
google avatar

Alexis R.

Yelp
Yes - this place does live up to its name! I've gotten 3 types of sandwiches from here before and each time didn't disappoint. Service was fairly fast as well. I have tried the chicken caesar salad wrap, the chiptole grilled chicken melt, and the crispy chicken melt and each has been delicious! I highly recommend the chiptole grilled chicken melt. The only downside is it is a bit pricey and they close early and are closed on the weekend, so if you don't work in the city, it will be hard to get.

Yelp
I placed a large takeout order around 1pm on a Friday and it was ready for pickup within 15 minutes. I was weary of the estimated time since there were multiple individual sandwiches, but pleased to find that it was ready when we arrived 15 min later. These sandwiches may seem plain or basic, but they all have a little twist that makes them tasty. I got the smoked turkey, which seemed like a basic turkey, mayo, tomato sandwich, but had some flavor bombs mixed inside. I think it was roasted red peppers or pickles, but whatever it was completed the sandwich and elevated it from normal to fantastic. Super super solid sandwich shop
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in while visiting DC to get their famous chicken ceasar wrap. At least 3 people in line behind me did the same thing. It was tasty for sure and a lot of food but not life changing the way I would have hoped! Would come back to try other sandwiches though!
google avatar

Yelp
Calling all vegetarians! The Best Sandwich Place's name is accurate. Their eggplant mozzarella melt is truly delicious. The staff is also extremely welcoming and the service is impeccable.
google avatar

Jerran N.

Yelp
The internet definitely hyped this wrap. I'm an avid Caesar Salad guy and this was pretty subpar. Nothing amazing. Not wrapped tight. Basic Caesar salad in a wrap. I at least expected a spinach wrap. The line was long. Took about 20 minutes. They actually forgot one of the sandwiches I ordered that was listed on the paper. I won't be back.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
3.5-4 stars! Food was really tasty! Main complaints are portion size being way too small for price & they had no French fries or combo options. Other than that, food was yummy enough that I'd come back :).
google avatar

Yelp
I wouldn't necessarily call it the best sandwich place. I came here for a breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg, and cheese) and was underwhelmed by the lack of flavor. The sandwich was super dry. Allegedly they make their bread in house but it did not taste fresh. I felt like I needed a sauce of some sort to flavor the sandwich. Hubs felt the same with his breakfast wrap. I had to walk back in line to request a hot sauce. I was quite disappointed as I had other breakfast spots on my list that I should have checked out instead. Pass.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Honestly, I was expecting to be disappointed but oh man, I was shocked by how good the sandwich was. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and the service was surprisingly good considering the way in which the ordering process happens. Restaurant is decently sized for eating in, but it's clearly meant as a takeout place. I had the crispy chicken sandwich to share with my son and it was absolutely fantastic. One of the best store bought sandwiches I've had, ever. This place will remain on my bookmark list, really awesome sandwich.
google avatar

Gloria M.

Yelp
The buffalo chicken caesar wrap is so good! The wrap is soft, salad is fresh with just a drizzle of buffalo for a kick, and hard boiled eggs. Usually get this delivered and it travels well, wrapped and in a foil container.
google avatar

Lily S.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap online after hearing amazing things. It was made and ready to pick up when I arrived, but looking around at the menu, it's definitely a go to lunch spot that I'll be back to for more sandwiches. The chicken Caesar wrap lived up to all expectations and hit the spot. It was huge, in a delicious wrap, and had a perfect ratio of ingredients. The lettuce was crunchy, the chicken was plentiful, and the dressing was just the right amount. Chicken Caesar wraps are rare in dc, so I'm so glad to have tried this one!!
google avatar

Nichelle B.

Yelp
This is my go to for a Chicken Cesar Wrap add Buffalo sauce! It's quick and delicious fresh. There are soooo many options from wraps to salads to bowls. The service is great and there's seating if you're not on the go. If you come for lunch, expect it to be packed.

Allison M.

Yelp
2 out of the 3 sandwiches had to be remade because the order made was incorrectly even though they were simple ham and cheese and turkey and cheese sandwiches. So disorganized with no ordering system.
google avatar

Matt U.

Yelp
I had a couple hours to kill before a flight, and was looking for some sustenance that involved both meat and bread... This place was literally the perfect spot! I have no idea where I was in Washington DC, but it was within about six blocks of the Marriott near the White House. It was a quick walk over, and being was lunchtime, there were plenty of other folks looking for food as well. Despite being an incredibly long line, they made quick work of it. The guys and gals here do a wonderful job of taking orders and getting things made in a timely manner. Sandwiches, salads and wraps are all at your disposal. I had a pastrami melt. It was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Meat late on thick, some delicious Russian dressing, and a hard boiled egg carved into the middle. Having meat give an egg a hug inside your sandwich is one of the true simple joys of life! There was seating for about 25 people, but most people got their things to go. If you're in the area and looking for lunch, this is a perfect spot to stop, grab some thing and then eat in the park across the way. it's worth your time to check it out!
google avatar

Patricia S.

Yelp
We placed our order over the phone and it was ready by the time we arrived! We both got the chicken Caesar wrap and it did not disappoint! Very yummy and fresh. We also got a side of their buffalo sauce which was really good - not sure if it was homemade but it definitely seemed like it! There's a nice park outside across the street with tables and benches which is a perfect spot to eat.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
Ordered the rib eye melt. Good but I wouldn't claim that this is the "best" sandwich. Lines don't flow very well & gets jumbled & crowded, especially during lunch hour rush since the place isn't that big.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
I stopped by here for lunch on a weekday, and the place was absolutely packed. Pretty confusing ordering system; there are multiple lines depending on whether you want melts, sandwiches, etc., but then all the lines merge into one at the cashier, so you just have to track your sandwich so they give it to the right person. Combined with the mass of customers, it wasn't a great ordering experience. I got the crispy chicken melt, and overall, it was solid. The chicken was super crispy, which was great, but the sourdough, despite being clearly toasted, lacked a great crunch which I think would have added a ton. The sauce was good too, and overall made for a enjoyable lunch. Will be back if I'm in the area!
google avatar

Dani G.

Yelp
I stopped by due to being at a conference in the area. The place was quite busy and can be a bit daunting if you don't know what ur doing. There are separate lines for salads and sandwiches so be mindful of the signs over top. You will order ur food through the separators to a person who makes the sandwich. You will then continue down the line to pay. I noticed some ppl pay after they put their order in and others pay once they get their order. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. The sandwich itself was good but I could have used a little more of the sauce that came with the sandwich. The chicken breast on the sandwich was melt in your mouth good!
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Food - 4 Service - 3 Value - 3 I wouldn't call this "the best", but the Rib Eye Melt was pretty good and we were also pretty hungry when we came here. There was a line, but it moved quickly. We did hit a little snag because they only gave us one of the two sandwiches we had ordered...so I had to re-order and wait another 5 minutes for my food.
google avatar

Sehar M.

Yelp
This place is great and has great sandwiches. I tried the chicken Caesar wrap and loved it. It looks like their other sandwiches have great reviews and can't wait to come back here when I'm back in dc. When I came in, it does get slightly confusing. I ordered online and I had no idea where to go at first to check on my order. They do have some seating inside, which was nice and some silverware to go. I suggest this place if you work close to here and looking to have a nice walk outside.
google avatar

Maggie L.

Yelp
This place is great! They have a huuuge selection of both sandwiches, salads, wraps, breakfast bagels, etc. I got an Italian sub because I was honestly a bit overwhelmed by the options but the other orders I heard sounded even better. The Italian sub was delicious, super flavorful, ingredients tasted fresh, loved it. I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Nathan N.

Yelp
This is a fast casual place that the Internet is raving about, and I can see why! It's hard to find a variety of quality sandwiches for under $12. This chicken Caesar wrap was amazing for a quick to go sandwich. It was pretty large and kept me full until the evening. TBSP has an extensive menu, so I'm looking forward to trying more. The sandwiches are made pretty quickly, but I imagine this spot gets busier during lunch since it is located near a number of offices. I went just before noon and was in and out in about 7 minutes. I definitely can't wait to try this place again!
google avatar

Tara B.

Yelp
Heard about this spot on tiktok and had to try. I got the chicken caesar salad wrap with crispy chicken and buffalo chicken melt. I'm not normally a wrap girl but loved this one! The wrap wasn't too thick. Definitely a grab and go spot. Service was quick
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
This is one of those places that if you worked nearby, it would satisfy all your lunch needs. It was a great find for us. Service is a little madcap but quick and then do a lot all at once. We got various sandwiches -- all big portioned and delish. The salads were big too and mixed. I got a Korean rice bowl with pork that was flavorful and filling. Inside isn't anything special but it's an office lunch place. And a great one at that. Just know -- you can only get them M-F because, well, it's mainly an office lunch place, right?
google avatar

Taylor D.

Yelp
Even though this is a sandwich place, don't sleep on the rice bowls! The kimchi grilled shrimp bowl is amazing. Though it is spicy, the flavors blend well together and the added mango is super refreshing. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Naomi M.

Yelp
DELICIOUS!!! This spectacular restaurant definitely lives up to its name. Walking in, I was immediately awe struck by the cute and modern vibes. I loved the overall layout! My friend and I's sandwiches were to die for! The flavors melted on my tongue. I got the thai chicken chili sandwich and he got the crispy chicken melt! The grilled chicken itself was cooked to perfection and the brioche bun was phenomenal. The service was quick and the workers were helpful! I will definitely be coming back and I simply MUST try their breakfast sandwiches and coffee! Would definitely recommend TBSP!
google avatar

Wilton P.

Yelp
This place should be called the Okay Sandwich Place. If you go during the weekday lunch rush, you will find lines stretching out the door for people waiting to order sandwiches, salads, or rice bowls. I ordered their Louisiana grilled shrimp sub. The nice part of this place is that the bread is very fresh and not too crusty. However, the shrimp in my sandwich wasn't seasoned and just lacked flavor overall. The prices are reasonable. I may go back to try something else, but will definitely skip the shrimp.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Super delicious at this very casual made-to-order(mostly) sandwich, wrap, salad place. Great combo deal with chips and can of soda. Very reasonable and friendly. Plenty of seating. You order and self-serve.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
They back up the name of the restaurant. A lot of locals waiting in line which is a good sign. Place was clean. Line moved fast and staff was very nice. I had the Italian. Bread was fresh as was the ingredients. Very good. I recommend for a lunch in DC.
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to try this spot. Ordered the Korean melt and chicken caesar wrap. Both were tasty, but not nearly worth $18 and $15; respectively. Thought for the prices, they would be on the larger side, but they weren't. Absurd.
google avatar

Evangeline L.

Yelp
Quality: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Came on a Thursday lunch and the place was packed! However service was super quick and they knocked out orders super quick. I got the crispy sandwich melt and was pleased, but it wasn't worth $14-$15, though that price is decent for DC. Wish the sandwich had more of a wow factor, but it was a good grab and go sandwich. Would come back again!
google avatar

Kikue H.

Yelp
This really is The Best Sandwich Place. If you're looking for lunch in DC, you've gotta stop by. The portobello melt comes with provolone and fig jam which go together so well with the nice smoky flavor of the mushrooms. Not to mention the freshly toasted sourdough bread it's packaged in. And the banh mi was quite possibly one of the best I've ever had -- definitely not traditional but definitely delicious. The sriracha mayo adds the spice, the daikon slaw is sweet and tangy and the pork meatballs are so juicy and add so much wonderful umami flavor. With how packed it was at lunch time, it seems like everything else on the menu is just as good. It's also pretty reasonably priced for DC which was a major plus!
google avatar

Lynn L.

Yelp
I went around lunch time on a Monday and it was really busy so I ordered for pick-up from Yelp. They were fairly fast and friendly. I got the Korean Steak melt without cheese and I thought it was just ok. A lot of spicy Mayo which made it spicier than I thought it would be. The pickled vegetables were a little too sour/ pickled too. I don't think it was worth $19.
google avatar

Angie R.

Yelp
Shrimp mango salad is decent. They put 90% salad and like 4 shrimp. We came here about 50 mins before they closed and nothing annoys me more than for someone to be mopping the floors while you have customers. I was in work heel and damn near busted my ass twice. I'm sure there's plenty of time to do that when everyone is gone not to mention a hazard! Overall it was just okay
google avatar

John E.

Yelp
If you need a good, overstuffed sandwich in the city, this is a great place. Meats are fresh and sandwiches are very tasty, not bland. Pickles could be better/fresher. My other "suggestion" is for hot sandwiches to wrap them in something that breathes more than foil since the cooling process makes the sandwich sweat and the bread becomes mushy.
google avatar

Sara C.

Yelp
I saw this place on TikTok. I tried the chicken caesar wrap and added tomatoes. It was really good. They have a lot of different options.
google avatar

Maximillian L.

Yelp
Came here recently with a friend on a trip! The shop was super busy, but our meals came out quickly. The line was wrapped in the store, a bit overwhelming, but a great experience overall. I ordered the ribeye steak melt and chips. I'd definitely recommend to others!
google avatar

Stephen L.

Yelp
A simple downtown sandwich shop, The Best Sandwich Shop delivers on their namesake claim. Delicious and well-conceived sandwiches produced quickly and inexpensively by a no-nonsense crew. We enjoyed their ribeye melt, adding some appealing avocado to the sammie. With some crispy chips, it provided enough for lunch for the two of us. A really solid spot for a quick and tasty sandwich!
google avatar

Neek S.

Yelp
While the wrap was fresh and tasty, it definitely was overhyped. It's a regular tasting chicken caesar wrap. I won't get it again but will try some of the other tasty looking items on the menu.
google avatar

Dave K.

Yelp
Was in DC for work for a few days and managed to eat here twice. The bagel + cream cheese I had was nothing special (as has been the case for most bagels I have had in DC), but the sandwich I had for lunch was very very good. I believe it was something like an Italian chicken cheesesteak... might have the name wrong, but it was a hot sandwich with chicken, cheese, sauce, and veggies. It was very good. Writing this review now I am eager to go back and have it again. Would recommend it 100% Service is ok but I found it a little confusing where to go the first time I was there. They are friendly about it though so not a big deal.
google avatar

Aejah T.

Yelp
Wrap was good for the price, really fast service during a busy lunch time, would for sure return

Pete P.

Yelp
I always try to give this place a chance because it's close to my job. The prices change based on who rings you up. If you get the older gentleman, he will tack on additional fees. Both a friend and I ordered the same thing and I was charged more than what she was. I didn't realize it until we walked out and realized I wasn't even offered a receipt which I feel is intentional. I find it even more interesting that they just type in a price on their POS without showing the itemized sale. My entire office has refused to go back based on the same reasonings.
google avatar

Laura H.

Yelp
This is a great lunch spot, particularly quality and quantity of the food for the price. I got the hot italiano sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The spicy peppers and garlic added a ton of flavor. The service was great--they were super patient with my friend that ordered a very customized sandwich. There's some seating indoors and looks like there's an option to order from grub hub if you want to skip the lunch time rush.

Dr B.

Yelp
Excellent food, service and quality. Owner is very nice. Cooks and waitstaff are friendly. They are conveniently located downtown DC.
