The 15 Best Restaurants In Newport, Rhode Island 2024

"Sitting at The Black Pearl, you can almost hear the sailors from old-timey Newport singing and stomping on the floorboards. However, we’re confident the menu is leagues better than anything they were eating in the 1600s. You’ll see fresh fish and a raw bar, fancy pub food like chicken pot pie in a flaky buttered pastry, and a great burger with rosemary onion confit. Tables are first come, first serve, so head here for lunch and grab a spot in the wood-trimmed dining room or one of their covered patio tables behind ropes in the middle of bustling Bannister’s Wharf. You can also always pick up a cup of their famous New England clam chowder from their takeout window and sit on a bench as you watch the boats sail by." - danielle rose

"The Black Pearl is a historic Newport institution with three dining options for every occasion. Eat outside on the waterfront patio, people watch and order the clam chowder, it’s hands-down the best in town. Below deck, the Commodore’s Room is the more classic option with wood-paneled walls and a seafood-centric menu. The Tavern is loud, fun and more of a sport’s bar. Whichever option you choose, both the atmosphere and the food are guaranteed to be good. "

Stopped at the Pearl on the 4th for lunch and place was packed as usual. We got lucky and we're able to get seated rather quickly. We wanted to eat outside as always ate inside. Atmosphere much better outside. We both had lobster sandwiches and fries. Disappointed in what you received for $36 each. As picture shows you can't even see the lobster, takes the excitement away 😧.Service was fair as waitress only came by once after we received our dishes but she was pleasant. This is the first time I wasn't impressed as this is one of my favorite restaurants in Newport. We will still keep stopping here but will pass on the lobster in the future. Still feel Lindy's Tavern is best place in Rhode Island for a nice colossal roll 😋😋😋

Google
The restaurant is really nice, we sat on the terrace. If you visit Newport is a great place to go. The food is good. The clam chowder is good not so heavy and has a lot of dill in it! The mussels were great, but the sauce is to die for it. The shrimp past is delicious.

Google
Stopped by for a quick drink and bite. we sat at the outside patio bar. I had the Pretzel with a Guinness while she had the chicken salad with an Aperol, followed by a shared frozen Mudslide per the suggestion of a local. Service was awesome, the drinks were on point and the food was excellent.

Google
The food was delicious. We all enjoyed what we ate, but the service could have been better. If only the server smiled and was a bit more attentive. She couldn't care less. The room was not crowded. We had a better time at some of the other places.

Google
We went for the supposedly legendary clam chowder. The flavor was good. The texture was poor. Thin. You know what is one of the cheapest foods on the planet? Potatoes. Do you know what the chowder had hardly any of? Potatoes. It was class and broth with about five dice sized potatoes in an entire bowl of chowder. The server walked past our empty water glasses twice. The atmosphere was claustrophobic. They put as many tables into a small space as possible. You can barely walk through the chairs and have to be very careful not to bump other patrons. I was underwhelmed.

Google
The food and its freshness was amazing. Thank you for this wonderful seafood experience. Prices are reasonable. Waitresses were very busy though.

Google
I got food poisoning from oysters. Their cooked dish is delicious, clam chowder is good. However on yesterday (5/30), I had half dozen of their raw oysters. It was not very clean, like I had to spit out sand and stuff. Couple hours later I started puking during my way back to NYC. At the end of night literally just puking stomach liners. It was the only meal that I had yesterday since it was kinda a brunch. Up till today still having fevers and diarrea. It probably won't happen to everyone but it happened to me. Very painful experience.

Google
The food was good quality except for the fries and ketchup. The server mistakenly bill twice on my clam chowder and was corrected after given notice. Over all its a good experience.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stop into this restaurant this past summer. The ambiance is very quant, romantic and sensual. I had a bacon cheeseburger (not a huge seafood fan) and the burger was not very good. The truffle fries were AMAZING. To the point where sometimes I crave them. That's how yummy they are. The servers were very friendly. When I'm back in Newport again, I'll try a different main course.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Newport dozens and dozens of times. This is straight up the best clam chowder in town. And I've tried them all. It's amazing. Great flavor, not too heavy, not too watery, no bacon needed or added. People literally sit at the bar here DRINKING CHOWDER instead of beer. It's hilarious. They keep it all heated up next to the bar in several electric stockpots and ladle it into bowls on a nonstop rotation. This is a chowder mill. Mmmm mmmm mmmm. Have not done the mains here in a while but I think the seafood would be decent if a bit pricey. I don't know. Probably? Who cares? You are here for the chowder. Don't you dare come here and not get the chowder so you have room for some nondescript chicken entree. They even sell the stuff frozen by the quart to further emphasize the point. As to location, the Black Pearl is right on Bannister's Wharf and could not be more centrally located. It kind of looks like a mobile home from the outside being only one level and having no windows. Inside is pretty small and cramped but in a charming way..... it does kind of feel like you are in the guts of a pirate ship which is always fun.

Yelp
Visited here from San Diego, California! My family & I absolutely loved this restaurant, so much so we went here twice in a row!! We ate the bolognese pasta, clam chowder (some of the best we've ever had!) & the avocado salad. The atmosphere was beautiful, felt like I was inside a pirate ship!

Yelp
Wow! The Black Pearl is easily one of my favorite Newport spots. They have a generous array of mocktails for those who do not drink. Our server was very friendly and checked in on us frequently. We were able to sit outside and ate delicious clam chowders that I still think about! There were TONS of clans in it. Really great service, amazing food, and impeccable vibes!

Yelp
Came here off of a recommendation from a friend. We got the Garlic Parmesan Frites, Spinach Artichoke Dip, and Crab Cake as apps. The aioli that came with the fries was delicious and so was the crab cake (though it was a little pricier). I tried the Mussels Black Pearl and was decently surprised! The butter/broth was delicious with the mussels and the bread and the mussels tasted fresh, not fishy at all. Our server was very nice and attentive, always checked up on us. However, there are only two single women's restrooms which led to a long line down a very narrow hallway in the middle of the restaurant.

Yelp
The best part of this place was the ambiance. It was so cute. The service was a bit slow but they were able to get our large party sat quickly, just at two separate tables. The majority of us ordered the chicken sandwich which wasn't anything special. The clam chowder was decent though! I had a gin and lavender drink (can't remember the name) and it was over powering. 3 of us tried to choke it down but couldn't manager to get past the floral taste.

Yelp
The restaurant is located on a busy wharf with a patio that is perfect on a nice summer day. The restaurant doesn't take reservations and it's first come, first serve. Depending on the time, you may not need to wait long. The food here is pretty good and decently priced for the location. The lobster salad sandwich uses a buttery croissant as the buns. It is dressed in light mayo and had a good amount of lobster for the size of the croissant. Market price for lunch was $36, a little pricey for what it is. Either way, grab a cold drink and enjoy the views.

Yelp
The Black Pearl in Newport, RI - known for its waterfront location and legendary clam chowder Ordered: - Baked Oysters with Parmesan mornay sauce, herbs, and lemon - Crab Cakes: brioche, onion, celery, dill, remoulade sauce - Black Pearl Clam Chowder - Swordfish Sandwich in a toasted focaccia with tartar sauce, shaved cabbage and onion

Yelp
It had been over four years since we had last dined here- the dark interior looked and felt the same. My wife had shrimp & grits and a cup of chowder. My friend and I had the roasted white fish (hake in this instance) which was delicious. Drinks were a Loosen Riesling, a Valmoissine Pinot Noir and an Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. All washed down sparkling water. The bill came to $130 without the tip. Our server Jessie was attentive and efficient. It was a good meal.

Yelp
We sat outside at the bar near the water and the ambiance was on point. Great drinks. Try the bees knees! It's delicious. You can sit outside and watch the sails make their way out. We ordered the frommage app and it was perfect for a pre dinner snack. The bartender was great. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
The food here was pretty standard. I found the Clam Chowder to be watery and lacking in taste. The Lobster Salad on a Croissant dish was really good! I would actually get this one again (just keep in mind, it's very different from a traditional lobster roll). Lastly, the Tavern burger was definitely the stand out dish. Burger was super juicy and really tasty - well worth the price at $22 and came with a side of fries. The server was really nice but it did take a while to get our food. We were actually served our main dishes before the appetizers. Definitely a nice spot that a lot of locals seem to visit.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a quick and fresh meal. They've got all the staples and some inventive items. I opted for a Cesar salad with lobster salad and it did not disappoint. I was hesitant about the anchovies with the lobster, but it was surprisingly a good mix and the portion of lobster was larger than expected.

Yelp
My husband had his heart set on chowder at Black Pearl in Newport. So we put our name in to get a table and I was temped to skip it, but glad we didn't! Just had a fantastic lobster Benedict with gluten free English muffin! The potatoes have cross contamination so they subbed a salad and it had the most fantastic dressing! My gluten loving husband had the chowder and eggs Benedict and said the chowder was great and so were the potatoes and he enjoyed a sample of my lobster. I also started with a cherry limeade mocktail which was very refreshing. Well worth the wait to get a table on a beautiful sunny day in Newport!

Yelp
Came to this establishment after spending the day in Newport, we came here based on great reviews on Tik Tok from some popular influencers, unfortunately my experience here wasn't the best in fact we never got to eat. Definitely management needs to address the issue their waiters have on profiling and not attending their guest. We decided to eat outside and waited over 15minutes to get at least a menu which never happened.. Waiters were coming in and out of the place and NOT ONE cared to acknowledge us maybe it's that we didn't fit the agenda but I have traveled to many places in which the service was exceptional including some states were people were very welcoming. Unfortunately I will not recommend this place to anyone. The service is awful not sure about the food but based on previous reviews it seems this is a pattern.

Yelp
Came here on a busy Friday night the weekend of the 4th and it was completely packed. However, it was pretty late & we were reluctant to snag a table in the middle of busy Bowen's Wharf- which is actually located across from the restaurant. The sangria was really good and we split 2 pitchers amongst 3 people and we all caught a decent buzz. We got the charcuterie board & it was actually the saddest charcuterie board I've ever gotten- anywhere! There was NO CHEESE! They threw a few dried apricots on the plate along with prosciutto, kielbasa (gross- never had this raw & wasn't starting today), and some hot Italian ham. They gave us the tiniest piece of bread & threw some artichoke and mini pickles in a small cup & gave us some mustard & called that a charcuterie board. So I would pass on this- no cheese, no fig jam no nuts of any kind. The prosciutto was good but that is not a true board IMHO. We got burgers- which were excellent and a cup of chowder - which was very good - a little too fishy for my liking. The sangria was excellent. The burger was excellent. But the charcuterie board- I would avoid. Our waitress was a doll as well, I've been here before and never had a bad meal from here. Solid 4.5/5 stars

Yelp
Food was really sub par. Very disappointing as it used to be one of our favorites in all of Newport. Such a shame. Probably won't be back unless they reverse the menu changes. Super disappointed that the filet and bernaise sauce with the old skinny shoestring fries is gone. That was the best dish in Rhode Island, no longer to be had.

Yelp
Located in Bannisters Wharf Marina in Newport Rhode Island amongst the quaint shops smattered around this location you will find the Black Pearl restaurant. The food was delicious and unique in its presentation. The lobster risotto was tasty with a mix flavors with actual big chunks of lobster meat. The service was efficient, however, there was a lack of dessert offerings. They only had crème brûlée. One thing to note is the menu changes constantly. We were told that the current menu was about to change.

Yelp
Debra Lee was our server and she was very pleasant and attentive! Just stopped in for a light bite and a cocktail...cup of clam chowder was excellent as always!! Traditional Newport bar setting that was bustling with patrons.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the nice interior, the food sucks The service is genuinely nice but wow for the price, it's not worth it
google avatar

Yelp
The location is perfectly situated in the harbor which makes it the ideal tourist trap. Got dinner here after our boat cruise because they were able to seat our large group at tables of 4. Ordered some drinks and appetizers which were nothing special although on the pricey side. We made the mistake of ordering steamed lobster and lobster squid ink risotto which were also overpriced. The risotto was watery and flavorless with the squid ink smeared on the sides of the bowls and came with 2 small lobster pieces for $43. The clam chowder is also watery and doesn't have much flavor despite having lots of clams. I wish we stuck with just ordering appetizers and drinks because this place is not worth it for an actual dinner.
google avatar

Bob J.

Yelp
Classic Newport restaurant. Good is all around delicious (a cup of clamp chowder is a favorite), the staff is very nice, the building is historic, and the location is in the center of it all. The outside patio next to the harbor is a lot of fun .

Yelp
We stopped by their annex the day before and had their renowned clam chowder. It was spectacular! Almost all clams and. Few potatoes! No wonder they have a great reputation. So the next evening, we went in for dinner (10/20/24) . After about 15 minutes, our waiter finally showed up and apologized for the wait. He took our order which included drinks and 2 entrees not to mention a cup of the amazing clam chowder. The issue was that the clam chowder never arrived until I had to practically send up a flare to grab the attention of our waiter. This was long after a food runner brought our entrees to us. Alas, when the chowder arrived, it was barely warm and full of potatoes instead of clams. After another long wait, I flagged down our waiter and he finally brought back a decent, hot cup of chowder. The entrees were passable but the service was horrible.
google avatar

Ally T.

Yelp
Not allergen friendly. All fried foods shared with buttermilk chicken. With a dairy and nut allergy, I was recommended a salad. The rest of my party ordered cocktails, beer, burgers, and apps. All was mediocre, at best. Not crowded and still difficult to get a servers attention for the bill.
google avatar

Yelp
What a charming place. I felt like we were tucked away in the hull of the ship. Erica was our very accommodating and friendly waitress. She was such a treat. I asked her to surprise me with drink and the espresso martini did not disappoint. My friend and I both enjoyed the delicious New England clam chowder. They truly deserve to be famous for it! Flavorful with tons of clam pieces. I personally am not a clam person, but certainly enjoy a savory NE clam chowder. On to the entrees ~ I ordered the salmon and could not have been more pleased. Honestly, I WANT to like salmon, but often do not care for the end result. Thank goodness this was such a treat, every morsel was juicy and balanced with the other flavors of the dish. My friend challenged herself to try the scallops and Brussels (even though she can be very picky about Brussels). The dish was exquisite! I tried a bite of her scallops & a Brussel sprout and I soooo wished that I could have ordered her dish as well as my own! It was amazing. The portions were "just right" for these hungry ladies who had not eaten since breakfast (it was now around 5/530PM). We also, being on vacation, did not prefer to carry leftovers away. Still.... I was so tempted to order that scallops entree! Thank you, Erica, for being such an awesome credit to your team. We will most definitely come here on our next trip and highly recommend to others.

Wen L.

Yelp
Great brunch spot! I loved how creamy the clam chowder was, a good amount of clams and potatoes ratio, soup was rich and not watered down. I loved the lobster sandwich served in a croissant, the flakiness and lobster meat matched perfectly. The crab cakes were not bad but could be meatier. We dined out for the view of the dock but you can dine inside as well.
google avatar

Danny G.

Yelp
Excellent food. Great atmosphere Our waiter, Mason, was friendly, attentive, and helpful.

Bryn L.

Yelp
The meal itself was outstanding. The clam chowder was close to perfect, the lobster was great, and the white fish with orzo was fantastic. For such an iconic restaurant, we were disappointed with the service. We walked in on a Friday night just before 7, the host took our name and number and told us it would be about 40 minutes. No problem. 45 minutes later we hadn't gotten a text yet so we gave the restaurant a call. The man who answered the phone said that they tried to text us, but the text never went through and to come right away and they'll have a table for us. When we arrived, the host had no idea what the person who answered the phone was talking about and was extremely dismissive, just stating that the text never went through. (I watched her delete our name off of the iPad). I heard a waiter say "We're still seating?". And some others were eating fries behind the bar. Finally the host pointed us to a table, but did not even walk us there. Again, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was still great, but we were disappointed with the service here.

David H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere-good food-good service.we ate in the open annex area.No problems and would definitely recommend!

Yelp
We came for our anniversary dinner. Beautiful evening and we're seated right away. Over all our food was good, we started with the black pearl mussels and the spinach dip, and then had the pesto pasta with shrimp and a burger. Unfortunately our waitress never came back after taking our order. We had no opportunity to order more drinks, and I had to go to the hostess station just to get fresh napkins and silverware as ours was cleared with our appetizers. We tried for a long time to flag down our waitress to even be able to pay. We weren't hidden away, and were next to other tables that she had checked in with. I was so disappointed in the service. We would have stayed for dessert if our waitress had bothered to ever stop by.

Yelp
We were dying to go here and it was on my list. We luckily just got there at a perfect time. This spot is busy all day and night long and now I know why. Our server was very kind and helpful. The clam chowder was delicious! The mussels were incredible and my Cesar salad was fresh and tasty. We sat outside and loved sitting in the center of the wharf. I highly recommend this spot!
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
What a perfect lunch spot! We sat in the outdoor area and it was so perfect for this fall day! I had the blueberry lemonade which was very refreshing. For my meal, I had a cup of the clam chowder and the rustic BLT. The clam chowder was delicious and had soooo many clams in it! The BLT, was so flavorful with the tomato jam. My friend had the lox toast. She said it was fanatic! Our server was super nice and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend and if I was ever back in the area, I would absolutely go again!
google avatar

Molly L.

Yelp
We came to this restaurant on a weekend holiday weekend and was seated pretty quickly. We thought it was odd that some sandwiches and dishes listed fries and the others did not, and so we assumed that the sandwiches without fries on the menu did not come with fries. Turns out that my partner's sandwich did come with fries and that we ended up with a lot of fries since we got the truffle fries. My partner liked his swordfish sandwich and did not have any complaints. My chicken pot pie was also good but it was way too hot and burnt my tongue. I'm the food came out at a reasonable pace and our service was good, despite the issue with the fries not being listed on the menu and the temperature of the the chicken pot pie. Overall our experience here was pretty positive.
google avatar

Cher Y.

Yelp
Because of the annual boat show the place was busy. We waited almost 45 mins to get our food after placing our order! It was almost enough to fly a round trip from Long Island to Newport (25 mins one way). Service was very slow. Luckily, my shrimp avocado salad was outstanding! A clean natural taste was so enjoyable! The burger was also a keeper. Again simple, clean, and rather flavorful. The steak was too chewy. Not good. Flat bread was alright. Too oil to my taste.
google avatar

Vishal D.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch. The seafood is fresh, there is plenty of outdoor seating and great views. The staff was friendly and prices reasonable.
google avatar

Aj T.

Yelp
The oysters were smaller than expected and the salad and Alfredo were alright. The vanilla creme brûlée and drinks were good though.
google avatar

Rob G.

Yelp
Very elegant restaurant right on the pier and they are known for their white clam chowder. We didn't have a full dinner, but we had to have their white chowder. Everyone speaks of this restaurant in Newport it's a must go to.

Abel L.

Yelp
As a regular traveler this has to be the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant and I didn't even eat there. My wife and I asked for an outside table. For over 20 min waiters and waitresses passed right by us, stared at us and not one ask us if we have been helped nor did they give us a menu. Yet they were going to the other tables and helping others. Not saying this is a racist establishment but us being Hispanic and everyone else being white it sure felt like it. This one hurt bad!!!! Definitely won't recommend this to anyone I know. Guess my money was not good here.
google avatar

Clare C.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. They were able to seat a group of us inside immediately. The inside was cool but did not have a view of the water. The waiter was nice but he forgot my meal when he brought all the food out. I ordered the salmon toast. It was very good and tasty but I thought the portion was small. I was still hungry afterwards and it was ~$16. Overall, I do not think I would need to come back here to eat but the meal was okay just felt overpriced and not very big.

amanda s.

Yelp
So blah Lunch was overpriced Our waiter was very good and super nice. I would not go here.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
Overpriced touristy, but what did you expect? Some of the clams in my Clams Casino had bits of shell. I hate when that happens. The broth of this Clam Chowder was very thin. The Lobster Salad Sandwich was eh. Service was slow. On the positive side, outside dining area was lovely.

Yelp
Back again after a good experience last time ... this time, not so much. The menu seemed kind of limited and the choices were more of the Saint Petersburg, Florida type of 'family pub fare' than an authentic New England seafoody spot. Chicken sandwiches, burgers, reubens, etc. The atmosphere feels like you are sitting inside Hollywood's idea of an old fashioned wooden ship. I really like the interior with dark wood paneling and lots of character. You couldn't sue someone for slander for calling it grungy or even dirty looking ... but that's part of the charm. We like to sit at the bar where Rum soaked locals strike up conversations with strangers. The food was terrible, awful, bad, unedible and overall just a waste of money and calories. The reuben was dry ... clearly made with zero care on a panini press. No butter on the bread, stale, almost crispy overcooked bread ... barely any swiss cheese ... what was there was almost a liquid. Dry as fuh corned beef and four times as much sauerkraut as there needed to be. It was a mess. They also don't put thousand island dressing on the dry sandwich, instead giving you a side dish of dressing to dip in. The chowder is very thin. Hardly any clams at all. Hardly any potatoes. Mostly a big bowl of clear clam stock with a splash of cream, lots of sour dill and a couple tiny pieces of chopped clam and potato. $11 per bowl, this is their specialty. The bowl is giant, which is a shame as it's so bad. Like buttery milky water. The beers also come in tiny juice glasses for normal price. I've never seen beer glasses this small or this shape. Overall, come for a few tiny drinks and the atmosphere and then go somewhere else for the food. It was pretty awful.

Yelp
I would just say clam chowder, but I need 85 characters, so I guess I'll talk about the service being fast and the ambiance being great.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Food is good. Service very friendly and answers all questions. It a little noisy but it's a great wharf in Newport. A lot if people enjoy it. Great drinks.
google avatar

Angela B.

Yelp
Ended up here because we had a larger group and this place could accommodate our size. We sat outside, the view was pretty nice. They did not have iced coffee. The amount of creamer given to us was ridiculously small. I asked for a fried egg and the waitress informed me that they could only do poached..? Avocado toast was delicious. Pickled onions were awesome. My mom had to pay extra for Canadian bacon on her eggs Benedict. Thought meat was standard on this plate, not 6 dollars extra. Fries were good. Lobster sandwich was okay. My husband enjoyed his Reuben.
google avatar

Nina K.

Yelp
Such a treasure in New port. It's cute . I only come for the clam chowder. But unfortunately this time it was way too salty and watery, Lots of clam meat but not edible. So sad I waited all summer for this . The service for take out was quick. They were nice yes I would go back next week hopefully they will have a different cook.

Yelp
Get you a friend who has lived in Newport for close to 40 years and knows everybody in town. Get her to show you around town and then treat her to lunch here. We weren't terribly hungry, so we split the tuna nachos and a simple shrimp and avocado salad. Small dishes, pricy for sure. We loved the tuna nachos. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. The shrimp and avocado salad was OK - it definitely was underdressed (neither one of us thought it had any dressing so we had to ask for more). We both ordered iced tea, which was the pretty flavorless and came in tiny glasses that was filled 80% with ice, so we felt bad because we constantly had to flag down staff to refill our glasses. But our server was adorable and cute and we had a lovely time.

Yelp
The black pearl has a nice outdoor space and the food looks pretty good, but we didn't eat here. We had a toddler and the kitchen wasn't able to accommodate any foods off the menu like a plate of plain scrambled eggs. Our waiter was great to but did let us know this is a common thing for these chefs. We didn't order food since we were hesitating how fresh it was. On the other hand, the Sunday brunch drinks come in a plastic cup for easy drinking on the go, so this may be their sweet spot.

Yelp
We went for brunch and we asked to substitute our omelette to an egg white. The manager came right over and was very rude. We asked kindly if the eggs were prepped already because that is understandable but the manager said no we crack them and are fresh. We said we will pay extra and he said then what will happen to the egg yolk LOL. If we are paying for the eggs to start with and are already cracking them why couldn't you do an egg white? The manager was rude and not nice at all and was not accommodating. Manger should be very professional and not snappy with attitude to customers. Never heard of a restaurant that cracks the eggs and can't do an egg white. If it was prepped already makes sense but it's very common for people to prefer eggs whites!! Also on top of this the tuna wrap was completely rawr and smelled terrible. It was not edible also they forget to bring out two people's side out of a table of 7. The food was eh and nothing special for the price. The manager should be fired for his attitude telling us we were wasting food with asking for an egg white when how is that wasting food.

Yelp
We were in town last night to see my friend run her first marathon. I wanted to come here because everyone I know who has been to Newport recommended it, and on my last two trips to town, we never made it in... The menu on the website is from Summer 2021 (although we visited in April 2022), and the prices on the menu we were given at our table were MUCH higher. Had I known this, I would not have suggested it for my friend and her entire family, including kids, as the bill ended up being a fortune for a very mediocre, if not bad, experience. I ordered a bowl of the clam chowder as a starter. It was not as thick as most chowders I've had, but more on the watery side, and a LOT of dill. If you don't like dill, I'd skip it (I do, but it's not for everyone). Not really chunky, either. A little disappointed since I've heard this is one dish they are known for, and they sell it by the can in local gift shops. I split a lobster roll with a friend, and the waitress asked if we'd like to have the kitchen split it on two different plates. Since we were splitting it, they'd give us slightly more fries, but for an upcharge. Fine, charge me, I was excited about the truffle fries. The sandwich was good - not overly doused in mayo and huge chunks of lobster. The truffle fries, however, just tasted like regular fries. This was the consensus for everyone at the table, since all of their entrees came with truffle fries. Every like... 10th fry, you'd get a hint of truffle. Three of the people in our party ordered a burger - yes, I know, it's a seafood place, but we had had three teens at the table, and spending $50 for a halibut entree was a lot. The kitchen messed up the temperature of ALL three burgers - we ordered one medium, one medium rare, and one well-done. The worst part about it was that they told the well-done person at the table that they were going to redo his burger for him. 10 minutes later, they finally bring it back -- it was RARE. Overall: - Couldn't get the orders right and all burgers were cooked wrong - Prices on the website were wrong - Truffle fries were basically regular fries - Prices were astronomical for just mediocre food Will not return, unfortunately.
