Yelp
I hadn't visited The Blind Monk's new location on Olive Avenue until recently. While I loved the old location on Evernia, which was cool and always offered nice charcuterie with its wine and beer selection, the new location offers a full liquor bar and food menu in a gorgeously designed interior.
The brass liquor shelves above the bar with the mirrors on the wall reflecting back at the guests and surrounded by the stylish, French green walls and columns invite you at the Blind Monk to be bougie and be stylish. Noshing on Mussels Escabeche with fried green plantains, while enjoying cocktails such as the Spitfire (made with tequila, grapefruit, Serrano agave, grapefruit sparkling, and lime) and the Day Tripper (tequila, lime, grapefruit, Pow-Pow, prickly pear, and sparkling), I enjoyed my time at the marble-countered bar with panache.
The bartenders sling the drinks well, while the kitchen is quite versatile. The service is prompt and full of quality. There is also a lovely patio area that can hold at least 50 to 100 people it appears -- so if you have a private party, you could take advantage so long as it's not in the middle of summer.
The new location of the Blind Monk is a gem and one we will return for more experiences.
