My dad and stepmom heard about The Blind Pelican on social media, and they came up from Florida for the experience...I came out from Greensboro so we could have lunch together (they'd been here the night before as well).
What an incredible experience! The Blind Pelican is a decent sized restaurant at the end of a shopping center, with lots of parking, covered, outdoor seating, and a cozy, nautically themed inside with booth/table seating, and a long bar area.
We arrived just before opening, and sat outside until they unlocked the doors (suggested to arrive super early for a front row seat for Bloody Mary construction). We were greeted warmly by many of the staff, who were doing a final wipedown of the place. We were at the hub of the action, mid bar, and were given our food and drink menus.
Our bartender/server was Kaitlyn (hope I spelled it correctly), and (I think she said) Blue. Conversation with the staff and other patrons was rather lively and fun.
I had a cherry Coke margarita, dad and stepmom had Bloody Mary's. Drinks were delicious, and strong, and were served with our choice of liquor brand. We had the crab dip appetizer; hot, delicious, and big enough for the three of us.
For entrees, dad had the salmon, stepmom had the lobster roll, and I had the lobster pasta...the food was prepped, cooked, and served perfectly, allowing us to witness the creation of a couple "sea monsters". Food was well portioned, hot, tasty, and we very much enjoyed our meal without feeling rushed...the whole experience they offer is stellar! (I didn't order it, but I've heard their collard greens are awesome).
Though they have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, they also have a kids menu, where the little ones can get non alcoholic creations as well.
Overall, I highly recommend The Blind Pelican, and will likely return!
