The Blind Pelican Slams Its Doors Shut Amid Heated Owner Dispute | Eater New Orleans

"A 24/7 St. Charles Avenue bar known for dirt-cheap oysters and plenty of outdoor seating appears closed despite a sign claiming 'kitchen repairs.' Co-owner Karen Brown—who dated business partner Steven Seeber until 2017—filed a lawsuit alleging Seeber 'has been intoxicated virtually every waking hour for the entire life of the company,' that he spent company money on racehorses and vehicles (including a 2007 Aston Martin and a mail truck), cut her off from financial decisions, blocked her from selling her share, and caused lawsuits alleging racial discrimination, stolen cable, sexual harassment, and unpaid wages to be filed against the bar. Brown obtained a restraining order that stripped Seeber of his management status; the partners have agreed to let Le Bon Temps owner Joseph Bikulege run the business while they sort the mess out, and there is no word yet on how the kitchen repairs are going." - Stephanie Carter
