The Bloomsbury

"Why did this hotel catch your attention? What's the vibe? The Bloomsbury Hotel couldn’t be more central, yet somehow it manages to feel like a secret. The design is a brilliant combination of outlandish features—Art Deco curves, decadent velvet sofas, and elaborate wallpaper—and scholarly corners like the well-stocked library, a nod to the area’s literary history. What's the backstory? This elegant, redbrick Edwin Lutyens-designed building was once the Central Club of the Young Women’s Christian Association. Since being reimagined as a hotel in the 1990s, it’s undergone many renovations, most recently at the hand of Martin Brudnizki. The bright-pink Coral Room bar debuted during the newest reburb. Tell us all about the accommodations. Any tips on what to book? The smaller rooms are subdued, with varying shades of taupe, while the suites are jazzier, with blood-red headboards, velvet armchairs, and TVs in the monochrome marble bathrooms. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? And how is the quality?Free and fast. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?In the summer, the Dalloway Terrace has a lovely, flower-filled outdoor area. The rest of the year, the Coral Room does decadent plates of truffle-laced carpaccio and more British sparkling wines than you’ll be able to taste. What type of travelers will you find here? Not here on business. These are in-the-know, arty types who have come to London for a gallery tour and decadent dinner. What about the neighborhood? Does the hotel fit in, make itself part of the scene? You’re near everything—the shops of Oxford Street, the theaters of the West End—but you’ll feel far enough away from it all. Bottom line: Worth it? Why?You can't argue with this location and gorgeous interior design—and especially so for these prices." - Laura Goulden

Such a lovely hotel! From the moment we arrived at the hotel, everything was seamless. Check in was easy, all the staff was so friendly and helpful. Our room was great and all the amenities and services were wonderful. Turn down service every evening. I stained my favorite outfit at dinner one evening and the laundry service was able to get a tough stain out flawlessly without harming the fabric! The secret highlights of the hotel are the hotel bar - take a tour around the world with unique cocktails! And the basement bar has a speakeasy feel, great cocktails, and a rotating nightly performers who bring great energy. I cannot recommend more!

Google
The perfect hotel. From check-in to dining in the Coral Room and the exquisite cocktails… really wonderful place to stay. ||The building itself is charming and personal and very comfortable to hang out in. The Coral Room in particular is gorgeous and the original signature cocktails are unbelievably delicious. Most of all its the staff who make you feel looked after and very welcome: Emma, Sam, Aytar, Ros, Tanvir, Georgy and Joel and everyone else I’ve missed have just been wonderful… always going the extra mile and making me feel totally at home. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone. ||Last but not least the reception team deserve a shout out too for also being very accommodating and welcoming.

Another fantastic stay at the Bloomsbury Hotel. Once again the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. Everyone was great but I would particularly like to thank Peter, Bryan and Eva plus Maria, Mohammad and Tanya in the breakfast restaurant. They always greet me by name and treat me like an old friend which makes this hotel so special. It’s the little touches that count, that they put a copy of the novel Mrs Dalloway, by the Bloomsbury writer Virginia Woolf in the bedroom to mark the centenary of its publication, that I came back from a boiling hot evening to find mini patisserie, a bottle of sparkling wine and blackcurrant madeleines as a surprise on the dressing table. I stay in a lot of hotels but only Olga Polizzi’s Endsleigh in Devon is it’s equal for attention to detail and that personal touch. Well done to everyone involved in making it happen.

What a wonderful experience! As Americans when we heard free breakfast we expected cereal and toast, instead we had a full meal and a buffet of the best fresh food I have ever seen at a hotel. The staff is incredible, so attentive, they went above and beyond. Everything was so clean and professional. I hope we get the opportunity to come back and visit again.

The bedsheets were so soft and so was the pillow. The bath was absolutely amazing and everyone is so nice and very welcoming. They were very helpful with checking in and out. The Bloomsbury burger from the bar is so juicy, and the breakfast is just sooo scrumptious. Also, the hotel itself is gorgeous! Definitely enjoyed the stay there with my mom :) Hope to visit once again when I visit London

Google
Love it here, rooms are great, no views to speak of BUT, rooms are very well appointed, with comfortable beds and facilities. Staff are polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast is great with a buffet and tasty cooked options like avocado toast or eggs Benedict. Staff at breakfast were very attentive and helpful. Great for central London, Oxford St, Theatreland, Soho and Covent Garden. The Coral Bar is very cool and when we were there Vanessa Williams made her appearance after her stint on stage next door at the Dominion Theatre.

Excellent hotel. Staff is outstanding-very helpful in answering all our questions. Room was clean and comfortable and serviced every day. Close to Tottenham Court tube station. And numerous good restaurants. Concierge-(Dale) was very helpful in providing directions, referring restaurants and helping with assistance getting to Wimbledon!

My first time in London and I picked an amazing hotel. From the second I arrived, I was greeted with friendly hospitality. Sebastian at check in went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed. The room was spacious and comfortable. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in London. The hotel is close to everything but tucked away on a quiet street. Ubers were very easy to access. Don’t skip the Coral Room. Inventive and delicious cocktails!

Yelp
This place is truly lovely! Great location and amazing staff. I come to london often for work and have stayed at many of the hotels in London. I have found the Bloomsbury to be one of the best! In terms of price, space, and service, the Bloomsbury exceeds in all categories. So many of the hotels in London are exceedingly tiny. I found the Bloomsbury rooms to be quite nice in comparison. While not HUGE, they definitely had a bit of extra space that I feel a lot of other hotels do not have for the same one-bed options. I actually last minute booked Bloomsbury because it was the only hotel within budget for me. However, it ended up being such a pleasant surprise! The restaurants are great, they have a beautiful sitting area, and it's in such a great location - near lots of sites and wonderful restaurants. My only very minor gripe was i felt the AC was a bit strange, randomly turned off by itself and the fan could be a bit hard to adjust. However, it still did the job and may just have been an issue on my part for not really understanding the aircon controls. Otherwise, this place is a 5/5. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
This hotel was such a sweet surprise. We had never been to London before. The location is well located and we were able to walk or take the tube to any of the tourist destinations on our list. One of the lifts was down while we were there, so it was a long wait at times, but I don't ding the hotel for that. Our package included breakfast which was so delicious and puts the "usual" hotel breakfast to shame. We looked forward to it each morning. The hotel itself has a nice bar and restaurant and a pretty cool history (book provided on this in room). We would stay here again.

Yelp
Would highly recommend staying here. All of the staff was super friendly and helpful with anything that was needed. Great location with easy access to the tube. Nice restaurants and bars as well!

Yelp
This was the second time staying at the Bloomsbury and my review is a bit lop-sided. Fantastic location still and the staff for the most part were terrific. It has clearly gotten much more popular and they are in the midst of renovations so the entrance and flow is a but odd. The hotel restaurant and bars are hopping at night but our room was blissfully quiet which was a relief. Biggest drawback was really the aesthetics of the room itself. The carpet looked filthy (buy why have a monochrome crème colored carpet in a hotel room in the first place??) and the bathroom was a bit hazardous, the black tile flooring was cracked and the black grout was chipping away and sticking to your shoes or bare feet every time you stepped into the room- odd- maybe they are waiting to renovate and thus are deferring maintenance- but the end result was a poor impression on that front.

Caitlin G.

Yelp
The outside patio, dining area and steps are so beautiful and picturesque. Walking in for the first time there was literally a model posing with a photographer outside the doors. Chocolate would be brought into your room nightly as a winding-down treat, macaroons as a welcome gift, room services and cleaning every few hours and an impressive downstairs dining area with two serve-yourself tables and a dining menu with fancy breakfast options. Definitely my favorite place to stay when in London!

Yelp
PROS: GREAT LOCATION, walking distance to the British museum, Piccadilly as well as the London eye and Chinatown. TONS of restaurant and stores around. You will never run out of options of things to do or food to eat. The underground is minutes away that takes you anywhere in London. The hotel itself is small but cute, very cozy. The moment you walk in from the harsh British winter you feel right at home. The lightings in the lobby are dim and cozy. The rooms are spacious for the size of the hotel, always friendly staff ready to serve you. They slide daily newspaper under your door. There is also a cute bar/ restaurant in the basement that serves the BEST breakfast buffet I've ever eaten in London. At night, the area turns into a chic and cozy bar and they shake up some delicious cocktails. CONS: the view of our room was no existent, but then again we are in the city. Also the shower only has a half glass door with no curtain, maybe that's the style but if you take a shower the water will go everywhere. Other than that I really have no complains. Highly recommended for a couple looking for a romantic getaway!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Bloomsbury right before Christmas. What a beautiful, boutique hotel to relax in! After getting off a plane from San Francisco, we are just exhausted. Abudi greeted us with a great big smile and quickly grabbed our bags, leaving us to check in at the front desk. From there, we grabbed cocktails and nibbles at the Coral Room, which Stefan, one of the nicest bartenders, helped us with. He even gave us a hand in running them up to our room, I think he noticed we were a little worn out, ha. The hotel itself is so pretty, very unique and personal. If you're looking for a bland, chain hotel, like everywhere else, this is NOT the place. This hotel has character, charm, each design element is so well thought out. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. It's perfectly located in London so you can pop in and out, exploring what the city has to offer. The food at breakfast was so yummy. On the weekends, they have a full English breakfast station, with other delcious foods laid out if a fry up isn't your style. Maria and Ionut were quick to get us anything we needed. You can also order fresh juices from the menu at breakfast, in case you need a little boost of health in between sightseeing. The Dalloway Terrace is also another spot in the hotel which you can enjoy a drink or a plated breakfast. The last time we were in town, we ate there with my MIL one morning and it was so lovely on a nice day. I can't say enough nice things about this place. There are so many hotels in London, it's hard to find a good one, but with the Bloomsbury, our search is over. We are looking forward to coming back on our next trip!

Yelp
Worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life. Travel 100 days a year and have have written a negative review. Front desk is obsolete. Nowhere to be found. I had my room key stolen. My tv remote stolen. When I Yeah I'm called down for a new remote the night manager assaulted me in my room. This place is criminal. Horrific hotel, run as fast as you can. HORRIBLE. Worst run hotel I've ever come across masked by a nice bar. Literally fled in the middle of the night while booking a new hotel. Stay far away. This place is awful.

Yelp
This is a lovely hotel both in terms of the architecture and the service. It is also in a good location. On the downside the room was hot, a little noisy (the sash Windows rattled) and my sink plug go stuck so the water wouldn't drain away. Awesome Christmas tree! (See picture) Comfiest bed ever! Reception staff were spot on! Great mini bar!

Yelp
Very good hotel, we are surely going to return as we enjoyed this hotel very much. Nice staff

Yelp
A posh hotel in central London. It's off on a side street so it's very quiet given that it's a few steps away from bustling Oxford St. The British Museum is literally on its door step and theres plenty of dining and shopping areas within walking distance (Covent Gardens & Soho). Another convenience it that you're also less than a block away from the tube station and various bus stops. The rooms are a little small by American standards (banged my knee a couple times on the bed) but they have the business traveler in mind with free wifi and a power strip with international plugs. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/RshDXZKYqY6-ru8dzqpm_g?select=q89v1eia6OJ7noItFNhUUQ#q89v1eia6OJ7noItFNhUUQ) I did miss my American amenities like a fridge and ice machine. They'll provide a cooler upon request but it's tabletop and fit 2 sodas. The light in the room wasn't working and it took 2 days and 3 calls til a staff member finally fixed it. Beautiful retro antique hotel. Turn down service. Friendly staff. Expensive bar. Prime location. Around £200/night. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/RshDXZKYqY6-ru8dzqpm_g?select=Oj7VkNnzr7HKBCzFbBluQQ#Oj7VkNnzr7HKBCzFbBluQQ) Theres a market to recharge your oyster card right next door. Yelp
We are so glad that we chose the Bloomsbury Hotel! After booking the hotel I had immediately contacted the hotel via e-mail and requested info as to what transportation options were available from London Heathrow Airport to the hotel. Within 24 hours I had received a response from the hotels head Concierge (Brian Murphy). Great service so far! (we ended up taking the Heathrow Express train to Paddington then a taxi to the hotel). Upon arrival, we had found a bottle of Moet Chandon Champagne in our hotel room chilling in a bucket for us...... nice touch! (Thank You). Throughout our entire stay, the staff (housekeeping, front desk, porter/concierge) were extremely courteous, helpful and professional. We loved the decor of the place. The hotel lobby always smelled good. Maybe it was scented candles? Our hotel room was nice. The air conditioning worked perfectly (thermostat controlled and was very quiet). The bed and pillows were comfortable. The desk had international outlets, USB port and a iPhone (iHome) dock so we were able to juice up all our gadgets (USA) with no problem. My only complaint is the shower/bathtub. The shower only had a half door, it did not cover the entire length of the bathtub. So, every time we took a shower, water was splashed/flooded onto parts of the bathroom floor. (sidenote: when we were in Paris, our hotel also had a half door thingy, what is up with that?). The hotel was close to everything we wanted. It was so easy to hail a taxi. The Bloomsbury was within walking distance to Soho, Covent Garden and Oxford street. We were able to catch a bus down the street and the Tottenham Court Road tube (train) station was within walking distance. We decided to eat one dinner and a breakfast at the hotels restaurant, we enjoyed it. We loved the Bloombsury and would stay at this hotel again. Giving this 4.5 stars.

Yelp
4.5 So glad we stayed here! The location is hard to beat, it's around the corner from the tube and Oxford street. The other directions are Tottenham Ct. Road with lots of local restaurants and shops, and the British Museum and student neighborhoods. Too many eateries and places to buy necessities within a block or two to name. The hotel itself is a good size, with a lively, delicious restaurant and bar. Our room was on the small side, but so quiet. Very comfortable bed we slept off our jet lag very well. The bathroom was good, the shower had a splash guard you need to be careful with. But that may be a European thing. Lovely and helpful staff. The a/c worked very well. The outlets need a little updating, but other than that it's perfect. Recommend to all.

Yelp
Hands down the most posh but friendly stay I've ever had in London!!! Shoutout to George at the Dalloway Terrace for making my family's lunch so incredibly special!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
$300/night rooms are TINY and ok for one person, not two: best see your room before committing. Great location for British Museum (sometimes there twice a day!) and theaters. Their Coral Room is gorgeous and a must for cocktail/and or to meet friends. Breakfasts are so-so and served in the hotel basement. Not so certain I would stay there again and cannot recommend whole-heartedly.

Yelp
I stayed here for about a week last November. It's a beautiful boutique hotel with great service. I stayed in a Deluxe room on the 5th floor. While I was right next to the elevator, it wasn't loud at all. The room was quite spacious and I appreciated the larger sized toiletries, heated bathroom floors and turn-down service. The gym was quite small but it was always empty when I went. The breakfast in the club was delicious. Good location just 2 blocks from the Tottenham Court Road tube stop - so easy access to Central and Northern lines.
google avatar

Therese F.

Yelp
Stellar hotel with great rooms and amazing restaurants and bars. Loved the semi-outdoor bar they have - really cozy and intimate. The bathrooms were the highlight of my room lol. Overall very luxurious.
google avatar

ML ..

Yelp
The room was very tiny, but they did do a good job cleaning the room. The bathroom was a bit exasperating. They just had a half glass blocker for the tub and so when you take a shower be prepared to get water all over the floor. Annoying. Another downer was how we were greeted. We arrived on a late Sunday evening and the front desk lady was not on her A game, she was rude and distracted and shouting orders at colleagues and then directed that energy at us and luckily my partner who didn't care for it matched that energy and front desk lady simmered down. Not cool. Otherwise the location was good, close to the tube and the British Museum.

Yelp
I came here after a stroll through the British Museum to treat my wife to afternoon tea with "free flowing" champagne. The Swedish girl working the afternoon tea in the lobby basically ran it all by herself, I think a manager came by to do a pour at another table once. That said, the Swede was very nice to us and kept that champagne coming as advertised. The sandwiches were tasty, but I think my aunt in Arkansas makes them better. She's sorta into the whole English thing, even has corgis. The scones and clotted cream and jam were the highlight for myself. Clotted cream sounds pretty unappealing but it's actually damn good stuff! The tea was, well it's tea so it's pretty good and goes surprisingly well with a few glasses of bubbly. The little pastries left me and the wife wanting for a bit more "Wow!" but overall the presentation and service was top notch. It was a great way to end our trip in London, and if I had the dough it would be a nice hotel by the looks of it to spend a few nights in. What made me give it four stars though is just the atmosphere of being in a historic hotel with beautiful art on the walls and door men who wear bowler hats. In a word, it was very British. Word to the wise, go online and find a deal for afternoon tea on one of the tea websites instead of paying full price. Our deal would have cost 150 pounds versus the 70 pounds I booked the reservation for.
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
We stopped in for an afternoon tea that was everything we hoped for. The tables were set up almost in the lobby which was a little odd but the sandwiches and pastries were delicious and plentiful. It definitely had an air of sophistication and the service was top notch.

Yelp
Stayed here the last night of the Olympics as our main hotel had been bought out by Cadbury's for the games. Pros: Fantastic location, 2 blocks from Tottenham Court Road tube station, 2 blocks to the British Library, and 1 block from Oxford St. Despite the central and very noisy location, our room was silent as a tomb. I'm the lightest sleeper you can imagine, and I slept like a baby. The room was ready when we checked in at 9am, which was awesome because we'd just gotten off of a red-eye from San Francisco and really really really needed a shower. Free wifi = excellent. There was also a fitness room, but we were too busy to use it. For Bank of America customers, there's a Barclay's (no-fee ATM withdrawals) one block away at the corner of Great Russell St and Tottenham Court Road, as well as a Sainsbury's where you could load up on cheap groceries and other sundries. Cons: We were in room 717, which is a king-sized room with a little landing / window area (e.g., not a balcony, but it looked like people had snuck out there to smoke because it was full of butts). Unfortunately, the bathroom also smelled of cigarette smoke and it had soaked into the towels so we had to have the bathroom cleaned again. (Btw, it's a non-smoking hotel). There was a small bench thing right under the TV that screamed "suitcases go here" (because there was no luggage rack), but the space between the bench and the bed was too narrow so I got several nasty bruises from the suitcase, the bench, and the bed frame. (And we were only there for 1 night.) The bathroom...what is it with these half doors on the tub/shower?! Such a bad idea. Water gets everywhere! Also, the sink actually hung over the tub, so you really have to be careful when taking a bath and getting up. One slip and you're sure to hit your head on the sink edge. *** There was no alarm clock in the room. We asked for a wake-up call (2 wake up calls 15 minutes apart, to be safe) and we had NO WAKE UP CALLS. If we had to catch a flight (luckily we did not), we would have missed it for sure. *** So I'm not sure if I'd come back because the room was just so strangely shaped, and the cigarette problem thing, and the Lack of a wakeup call!!

Yelp
Nice and clean, although by american standards rooms are rather small. Very good location - walking distance to British Museum, tube station. While room rate was reasonable, breakfast and bar prices were quite hight.

Yelp
a nice hotel very close to Tottenham court station. Friendly staff and a nice touch of hot towels to clean our hands with at reception. The breakfast was plentiful from the buffet and the english breakfast was tasty. The Landseer restaurant was very nice and i will leave a review seperately for this. I loved the monogrammed slippers and robe a nice touch however they only fit to a size large and are unisex. The room on the 7th floor was rather small but cosy and the coffee machine with pods was a nice touch and they still provided a kettle and instant coffee, tea hot chocolate with 2 small bottles of water

Yelp
Great hotel and bar. We stayed at the hotel and frequented the bar. Always had a great experience. Terrace was lovely. Food was great and the drinks were always on point. Joel was be best bartender and always very good to us. Awesome experience, would absolutely do again!!

Yelp
I love the hotel! A lot of people like me mistake this hotel with the Radisson near by but this one is far more quaint! Walking distance to a lot of major destinations i.e British Museum, shopping etc. Best part comes with an converter in the wall. No need to bring your own converter! :) They will bring anything you need too!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel for five days whilst in London for a friend's wedding and reception at The Savoy, which is walking distance. It was very cosy, the staff are friendly, and we had everything we required, including soft bath robes and slippers. It is convenient to Tottenham Court Tube station and close to everything. We used to live in Bloomsbury as students, and the immediate surroundings have improved quite a lot with nice shops and restaurants. Our suite exceeded our expectations - newly refurbished washroom, comfortable pillow-top bed and stylish interiors. The lobby is delightful as is the terrace (romantic at night, with twinkling lights) - I'd recommend this hotel over others in the area for its personalised service, beautiful interiors/common areas, and breakfast was included with our room rate. Note: There is free wi-fi in the rooms, USB ports and charging stations for all your electronic needs; there is also a fitness centre and juice bar for your health needs :).

Yelp
Two years ago, we stayed at The Nadler Soho when we visited London. We loved it but wanted to try a different hotel this time around, and we wanted to stay in a neighborhood nearby. We took a chance with The Bloomsbury, and we are happy we did! The hotel is a perfect blend of modern and classic. We had a small but cozy room that overlooked the Dalloway Terrace restaurant. Though you can somewhat hear the conversations and music from down below, the noise level was low and we were glad that the window opened to let in the breeze and fresh air. The location was walking distance next to some great areas - Soho, Hoxton, Mayfair, etc. - and it was near some fine dining as well as casual and inexpensive restaurants. There's even a movie theatre 2 blocks away where we saw movies as a way of being cool during the hot summer evenings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A couple of noteworthy employees: Julia, Guest Relations Manager -- accommodating and knowledgeable; Pablo, Bellman -- friendly and always ready to help; Cezara, Staffer at The Juice Bar -- made great smoothies (she makes a mean Mercer smoothie w/ extra ginger!) and one of the friendliest people we met during our entire vacation. An area of improvement involved the weekend housekeeping staff: one day, it seemed like our room was only halfway restocked because we didn't get a bathmat, new coffee/tea, glassware, etc. All in all, a great choice for a perfect vacation!

Yelp
From the moment I reached the wonderful doorman Mario in his bowler hat and traditional suit, I had the loveliest experience ever in a hotel stay, and that is saying a lot. I left Amanpuri resort hugging my assigned assistant and crying with her as my stay was so lovely, but nothing matched my experience at the Bloomsbury Hotel so near the British Museum. After weather-related terrible delays getting to London, I was desperately late for my appointment for the difficult-to-get Ice Age Exhibit at the British Museum. I got to the Bloomsbury Hotel with 10 minutes' time to reach the museum. Roddy was at the desk taking care of every problem to get me checked in, my bags to my room and a bottle of water for me in my jet-lagged, frazzled, exhausted state. I promptly spilled the water over the front desk area. They were gracious and kept working for me as the rushed to save papers and equipment I had just "christened.' Thanks to them, I reached the exhibit on time. I returned to the hotel to have Jonathan serving me in the warm, yet chic lounge. He was a delight helping me learn this area of London better after usually staying at the Marriott County Hall and the Kensington area. I got to my room and it was warm and beautiful while efficient and meeting every need. The young gentleman at the front desk was in my room in about 1 min. when I had difficulty getting the internet in my jet-lagged stupor (It was actually easy to get and free, I simply wasn't functioning!). He set up my new, complicated power transformer in addition to this help and graciously refused a gratuity. The next morning Roddy saw me on my way to breakfast with a heavy bag and escorted me while carrying the bag and seeing that I got the perfect treatment at breakfast. The smoked fish that I love was heavenly and every offering was delicious and of the highest quality. As I was waiting to meet a friend for lunch, Nalif at the concierge desk and Andrea at the front desk arranged VIP tickets for my friend and I to attend the sought-after Pompeii exhibit at the museum as Roddy helped me with everything from a problem with my air reservation to Malta to arranging to rush me to Heathrow airport after this second museum visit. The bell staff personally escorted my friend and I to the museum and introduced us to the ticket-taker/VIP service at the door to the exhibit. As an avid traveler, this was my first trip after two difficult injuries and a challenging illness with a related weight gain, so I wasn't traveling in top form. It could have been a disaster. Thanks to the amazing staff at the Bloomsbury, it was the perfect trip - and they took care of it all!

Yelp
Thank you to Joe our waiter. We were there for high tea. Food was wonderful and your service was excellent. My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves. Perfect for after the afternoon at the British museum.

Yelp
I don't understand what all the hype is about. We stayed at this hotel after staying at the back bay hotel in Boston which was also part of the Doyle Collection (no longer the case as the Boston hotel is now owned by Loews). We had very high expectations following our Boston experience. The whole stay was just OK. It was just nothing special that's all. The room was fine the hotel was fine, the eating areas had a bit of a "smell" that wedding hall kitchen or old cafeteria smell. We just weren't wowed and would probably stay elsewhere next time.

I was recently on vacation in Europe. Other than a small hiccup when I checked in I was very impressed with my entire experience at The Bloomsbury. All the staff was friendly, efficient and provided excellent customer service. And I want to especially acknowledge Ivan from the front desk. He made sure I wanted for nothing. I have 20 years of management experience in hospitality and I would have been happy to have him on any of my teams. Another enjoyable experience was the bar and bar staff. I loved the music and the atmosphere. The hotel is located close to most attractions which allowed me to walk or take a quick cab ride. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to London.

Yelp
a wonderful hotel in the heart of soho. nice gym, good bar and great location...the rooms are small but nice enough. i would think of this as a place that straddles the line of boutique London hotel and tourist destination fit for everyone. i recommend staying here.

Yelp
It's the little room that couldn't. Hair dryers, thermostats, lights, outlets and drains don't work without constant calls to staff and storage is so limited that my pajamas are squeezed next to the mini bar. Location is great but this hotel is sorely lacking an accommodating spirit. Operated as a 1 star hotel in a 4 star space...what a con And it doesn't improve: we have to keep calling-out the same issues every day. Please do yourself a favor and don't book here

Yelp
I really like the service at this Bloomsbury hotel - I always get greeted with snacks and occasionally hand-signed cards. The breakfast is also pretty good and the waiting staff are quick and efficient. Definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay. It's also a central location and a quick walk to Tottenham Station.

Yelp
Spacious room in a well laid out hotel. Perfectly located near many sites and the staff ensures that you are well informed. Planning a trip back to London and have another stay planned at bloomsbury.

Yelp
Nice hotel, beautiful rooms, BUT: restaurant is in the basement, the meals are typical british (not very innovative with average taste) and it's not recommendable to visit the hotel in winter: it's quite cold inside. In my first room the heating did not work properly (when entering it was estimated 12°C - really COLD; after heating for 2 hours with temperatures (in theory!) between 27°C and 32°C (!) it didn't feel warmer than 18°C at all). In my second room the temperature reached quite soon the right level. But the real problem occurred in the morning when I had only the choice between a cold shower and no shower.... Besides, I could not remove the curtain - anyway it would have shown only on a court with the size of 4 square meters maximum...

Yelp
Five star! Was really impressed, they were well equipped for biz travelers. Services all around were astounding. Didn't even need my travel plug cause there was a built in wall strip which had plugs from hdmi cable to all int'l power outlets. The only compliant I had is they already pre-assigned rooms for guests, so you can't just check in early when there would be any vacancy. Really sucked if you had just arrived from an overnight flight. I have been using the northern line so tottemham court tube station was my best friend!

Yelp
Staff is very friendly, upon checking everything was great! The front staff Zaan was so helpful. It was our first time in the UK and our honeymoon. The at the front upgraded our room :) what a great start to our honeymoon. The rooms are a decent size for the UK. Location was great, we walked everywhere and a lot of restaurants, shops, sight seeing along the way. The hotel is clean and I am a neat freakso this was up to my standards:) highly recommended hotel!!!!

Yelp
Lovely but inaccessible from street. Large staircase which makes lugging suitcases tricky. Lobby is pretty and fresh plums were a treat when I arrived, Difficult to get a taxi. Must walk down the street to hail a taxi. Decent restaurants near by - southern Indian, Greek... My room had a large window that opened for fresh air and the sound of rain. Very soothing. I appreciated the iron and ironing board in the room instead of paying some ridiculous amount for a simple pressing.

Yelp
Where should I start... Don't know if me and my wife just where unlucky, but this ain't good. They call themselves a four star hotel, I'm really been to better bed and breakfasts. To pay for a double room and then get a single bed without a mattress pad that's not what I expect in a four star hotel

Yelp
Excellent service. Next door to the British museum. Extremely helpful staff. What more could you ask for?
