The Blue Flamingo

I absolutely love this spot! It’s one of my go-to places, especially after a long week when I want to treat myself or bring my staff out to unwind. The vibe is very homey, welcoming, and affordable — you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The food is always great! I’m a big fan of the tacos (a must-try!), and their brunch during football season is soooo good — perfect for catching the game with friends. Definitely one of my favorite local gems in New Orleans. Highly recommend checking out The Blue Flamingo if you want great food, good vibes, and a comfortable spot to relax.

Great venue. Music is a good volume service is excellent and the best steak I have had in my life! Definitely coming back!

Last night was my first time visiting, and overall, I had a good time. The food took a little while to come out, but it was good. However, as I was leaving, I witnessed my bartender, Tiffany, physically hit another bartender behind the bar. Earlier in the evening, I also saw her aggressively curse out a male customer and throw away his drink. I was going to leave this review regardless, but witnessing that physical altercation was the final straw. Although I initially planned to return and even bring friends and family, I cannot support or return to a place where violence and such blatant disrespect are tolerated. I do not condone violence under any circumstances, and I should not have been subjected to it during what was supposed to be an enjoyable night out. I will not be coming back.

We're from Illinois on vacation in NOLA, and we just got into town late Sunday evening. Drove past two sketchy places and spotted this place with folks out front listening to music on the patio, very inviting. From the moment we walked in and sat at the bar til the time we left full and tipsy, everyone was welcoming and jovial. The food was delicious, and drinks were wet and well priced. Service was on point, and our bar tender made right a small error promptly. All around, a great introduction to NOLA's food and charm.

Food was very good. The pasta and stuffed shrimp were seasoned perfectly. Drinks were wonderful. Little crowded, not much room to pass by due to bar seating and no one would move, but atmosphere ok.

Food was very good and right for the price. I’ll be returning to try more of their dishes.. Only reason I gave a 4 was because they forgot to put the Consome’ sauce in my to go bag and I had to drive several minutes to get it because I love how it tastes with the birrias. That’s all!

My first time here on Taco Tuesday. The food was amazing, we had the surf & turf birria tacos and margaritas. Valentine was very polite and welcoming. We will definitely be back!!!

As a New Orleans native I was sleeping on this place. Great food, environment and service. Also Valentine at the Bar was Great, definitely stop by !!

Blue Flamingo feels like a best kept secret. A lifelong friend of mine invited me to try out Blue Flamingo's Taco Tuesday and I've been hooked ever since. Be warned: they only serve tacos on Tuesdays, and special occasions like when Cinco de Mayo falls on another day of the week. I've been countless times for tacos, but Steak Night is on Thursdays so try them out on Thursday too. The time I visited for Steak Night, I actually ended up getting a Seafood Pasta that was topped with Crab Cake. The service is good. The ambience/vibe is on point. This is where the old heads go to hang out, but it's not to the point where you're wishing for a younger crowd. All the regulars are a good time. Try it out and you might become a regular too.

Don't let the "East" detour you from trying this place esp on TaCo Tuesday some of the BeST tacos in da city!! Esp those surf and turf tacos! #SupportLocal

It's time for me to "share" this jewel. I don't wanna, but it's time. In gist, I've stopped in 3x in 10 days since stumbling across this neighborhood bar and restaurant. It's a BoB located on Hayne next door to Castnet, which is a fresh seafood and seafood platter staple in N.O. East. If you enjoy being around good people (5/5), a laid back atmosphere (5/5) and delicious food, this is the place for you! EVERYONE is friendly (staff and patrons alike), the food is tasty, you can dance, watch sports and play the machines. If you like "spirits", there's everything from Proper 12 to vodka "set ups". The margaritas are so good, there's a huge jug of it on the counter. If you enjoy good soul food or food specials, their daily specials (Taco Tuesday, Fish Fridays, Stuffed Bell Peppers on Sunday) and regular offerings are delightful. Fried or grilled fish - (5/5) Served with Mac n cheese, potato salad and green peas. Nice portion and served piping hot. Highly recommend. Stuffed Bell Pepper - (5/5) Absolutely THE BEST stuffed bell pepper I've ever had in a restaurant setting. Filled with ingredients Momma uses at home. A must try! Yakamein (3/5) - It's beef only. Very good flavor but the noodles weren't right. It's a Nola thing especially after a long night and very few places offer this after 7p. It wasn't a favorite. Gumbo (3/5) - Different stroke for different folks. Not my roux of choice (tomato like) but it has all the other fixings I like (shrimp, okra, sausage, etc) and it was recommended by another patron on my first visit. Taco plates (4/5) - consists of three tacos, a side of corn, taco sauce, sour cream and pico. I tried three types: chicken and shrimp (5/5) beef/birria (5/5) and shrimp only (3,5/5). Surf & turf is also available. Margaritas (5/5) - I'm in lust! Can't get enough of the prickly pear! If you love a tart, "wine candy" (jolly rancher) type flavor, this is for you! That said, the peach marg is tasty too and a better choice if you prefer sweet flavors. Other flavors (including watermelon) are also available but they remain on my "to try" list.

My family raved about this spot and while I was in town they made sure I tried it out for Taco Tuesday. This place is a hidden gem for sure. We ordered the birria taco which is the special for Tuesday. The options are beef, shrimp, and chicken. I really enjoyed the 3 beef birria tacos, sauces, and elote (my fav although it was not on a cob). I cannot remember how much the tacos were but I believe it was about $10 for what I mentioned above. The drinks were also flowing and very good. We ordered the margaritas of course and I tried the liquid marijuana also and it was pretty strong also but very tasty. I really enjoyed this spot and plan to visit again when I'm back home. The bartender and the hostess were very hospitable of course, but I didn't enjoy only being able to sit at the bar as I am short. This was my only complaint since I'm short. The restrooms were clean and smelled good and the back room was being setup when we arrived for the DJ. There is a very small parking lot and lots of street parking.

Great restaurant and bar in the east. I really liked the fish plate and seafood stuffed pepper. I hear they also have great tacos on Tuesdays. Bar is small but patio has a few seats.

Everything was amazing. I will def be back to check out the blue flamingo & recommend to my friends & family. Staff, food & service was 10/10

A hidden gem ! This food was so good we ordered it twice in one night ! It is also a bar but outdoor seating is available. The bartenders were very nice and friendly. I called and ordered ahead. I ordered the beef and one chicken. Each order comes with 3 tacos, sauce, elotes and various toppings. Now onto the delicious tasty make your mouth holler food! The combination of the melting cheese, tender beef and the dipping sauce was all to amazing. I didn't realize what I was missing out on with these tacos. The flavors were so tasty. I don't think I ever ate a taco so quickly . Forget the toppings you really don't need them. The corn also got a splash of the sauce and it set those flavors off too. The sweet corn and a sprinkle of cheese were just perfect. This will be my permanent taco Tuesday spot! They've for sure won me over. Prices are reasonable and worth it. Next time I'll try the street corn.

The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were made to perfection. We sat on the patio and the weather was wonderful. They allow smoking on the patio which is rare and great for me. Overall, a good time was had by all

Really cute bar with nice lighting, comfortable bar stools, beautiful art on the walls, and great music. The bartender was really sweet and attentive and the food was delicious! We got a sausage po boy and the burger with fries and couldn't have been happier. Prices were super reasonable too!

Yesterday was my first time having the tacos and OMG they were delicious!! Everything on the plate was amazing!! I've been there several times but I always get the stuffed pepper plate which is amazing. I'll definitely. E going back for Taco Tuesday!!

Seen the Birria taco Tuesday tacos on Instagram and was a lil weary of trying them since they aren't made by Hispanic people but once I tried them it turned out to be better then authentic Birria tacos latin restaurants I've tried in area the broth was perfect portion was great with lots of flavor.. great drinks also will definitely be returning

I'm so happy this bar is located close to my home, it's my new favorite spot!!! The Food is amazing, the drinks are on point!! And the other patrons are like friends & family! It's like Cheers, the place you want to go! Where everybody knows your name! And their always glad you came!! Taco Tuesday is the Bomb!!

I went to Blue Flamingo on taco Tuesday because a friend recommended it ,I order chicken tacos they had a mix up with there pos and my order took quite a while,,,,,,I got discouraged, I told bartender which they were very accommodating after a long wait I received my order .I took it home and I was quiet surprised by the presentation and the passion that was put into the preparation ,I love supporting black owned businesses especially when they are ran right, if u are ever in the area I think they deserve a try.
