"One of the premier fine dining restaurants in the Outer Banks, the Blue Point is a longtime institution that was recently taken over by siblings Ryan, Leigh, and Jamie. Split between small and large plates, the menus skews fancy Southern. The famous Carolina she-crab soup is a mainstay, and other recent menu items include slow-cooked ribs in a Cheerwine sauce, pan-friend local crab cakes, and a cornmeal-crusted fried Virginia catfish. Craft cocktails and an extensive wine list created by Jamie (a sommelier) are also available. The more relaxed Back Bar offers beer, wine, cocktails, and some small bites to pair with the sunsets." - Matt Lardie

"For elevated food, drink, and hospitality with a dreamy backdrop, make dinner reservations at The Blue Point. This 32-year-old Duck establishment pairs classic Southern staples like pimento cheese and sweet-potato ham biscuits with New South dishes: Go for the tuna carpaccio, or seared sea scallops over curried lentils. Grab a seat at their outdoor bar during golden hour for a waterfront sunset, accompanied by a cocktail or bottle of Burgundy."

The Blue Point is an incredible waterfront restaurant in Duck. We made reservations (recommended) and popped over early for an oyster night they were having. It was so packed and the oyster guys were so slammed, we decided to just get a glass of wine, chill on their back patio, and watch the sunset. When it was our time, we headed inside to a cozy little booth and had one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a really long time. Everything was excellent and I cant wait to go back next time we’re down at the beach!

Partner and I went for a birthday dinner. Ate outside on deck. Weather was beautiful as was the meal. I had the recommended entree and it was fabulous. After dinner we had dessert as the dun set on the water.

Hands down, one of the best restaurants in NC and beyond. We always make a reservation while in the OBX. And some weekends we go two nights in a row. From the time you walk in, service is impeccable - it's comfortable fine dining. Their dessert options are amazing! And the view isn't bad either. :)

We love this place - even more so since the Brother(s) and Sister team took over! Always the beacon of the Outer Banks - incredible meals and views every time. If you want the cream of the crop on the Outer Banks - Blue Point is it!

Cool vibe restaurant, atmosphere is a blend of retro, cozy and inviting. Been coming here for years and we love the new feel, and of course the sunsets! Our server Christie, was excellent. Food delicious and plated beautifully.

Probably the worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant - 1. This place is not family friendly. We have a baby and they do not have high chairs (I mean, what kind of restaurant doesn’t offer high chairs?!) 2. We ordered our meals and waited about 45min before our waiter noticed that we are the only table around still waiting for our food. He went to check and it turned out he FORGOT TO PUSH THE SUBMIT BUTTON to get our order to the kitchen. You literally can’t make this shit up 3. We waiting for another 15min for our meals. As soon as they arrived, the ceiling started leaking!! And right onto our table and into our plates. 4. At this point, we have quite literally had enough and just wanted to get out as fast as we can. Given the experiences we’ve had, I fully expect our entire meal to be comped. The waiter came back with our check and had only comped our drink and appetizer. If you don’t think sitting at a table with a roof that is literally about to collapse on you & a waiter that is quite literally unable to perform his only job should AT LEAST get my meal comped, I don’t know what else should. On the other hand, I’m very excited to have AI take over some of these jobs. At least AI would not have forgotten to press some stupid button & I’d be fed an hour earlier than I should :) Please avoid this place at all costs because I know I will and will tell everyone including my worst enemy the same thing.

We have been coming here for so many years probably 15 or more. We were very disappointed with the chicken wings. They came out barley warm. They did not taste good at all. The pork chop was ok but not worth going back. The seevice was good and the atmosphere was okay . Not sure we will be back sadly. For the prices we paid we expect the food to be much better. The wings were so big I was afraid to eat them it's like they were full of hormones. The wine was delicious 😋.

Google
Beautiful sunset spot, outdoor waterfront bar is nice. Shrimp and grits great. Smoked ribs had good smoke flavor but over sauced. Sweet potato salty ham biscuits melt in your mouth but missing jam on 3 of the 4 which makes difference from good to outstanding. Service and drinks were great.

Yelp
The service could not have been better. The food was fantastic! full of flavor! Every time I return to OBX moving forward this will be a must do. We had the perfect table overlooking the water and even though we came to early for sunset it was not an experience to miss!

Yelp
Excellent balance of fine dining, service, and atmosphere. Had dinner with the fam Friday nite. Food was absolutely delicious and service was over the top. Ask for Blake O. She was a pro and a pleasure to be served by.

Yelp
Very cute spot in Duck with a nice ambiance and beautiful view of the sunset. I tried the Botanical Garden drink, which was a good mix of bitter and floral. It did say there was supposed to be aquafaba on it though and there wasn't any. I tried the bone-in porkchop ($38), which was cooked well and not dry at all. I thought that it was seasoned a bit unevenly though because parts of it were very salty, but the sauce had a nice sweetness to help with that. I thought the bread pudding was really good, which had a subtle Gouda and pecan flavor. It did look like there was a super cute backyard bar right behind the restaurant. There was live music and lots of seats to watch the sunset -- I would definitely want to check that out next time!

Yelp
A lot of locals recommended this place so gave this place a whirl. Experience was OK. Made a reservation to celebrate a birthday; there was no acknowledgement from the host or waitress which was fine, but seemed weird since Open Table allowed notes to inform the restaurant of such occasions. Oh well. At least we were sat at a table with a gorgeous sunset view. Unfortunately, the view was a bit marred by a thick mesh screen over the window. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. The food was pretty good and slightly elevated to some other places that we went to. Having studied their winelist, which was adequate, we still brought our own wine to pair with their food. The fried green tomatoes were a great way to start the meal. For entrees, tried the gnocchi which was rich. The pork chop was pretty good; I liked the crust and it paired well with the Pinot we brought. The tenderloin was good; very tender and prepared well. We were too stuffed for dessert. We showed up about half an hour prior to our reservation to walk around, which was a highlight and thankfully we did, as the parking lot was packed (would've been difficult to find a spot) when we went to retrieve the wine from the car.

Yelp
Fantastic backdrop for a instagrammable sunset pic. Great service and the food is rock solid as well. We came here following a wild horse tour and I loved that I could plug in my Tesla while we ate. There are 4 spots for charging for free in the parking lot. Although they are slow, it's free and you might as well! Now to the food. I got the pork chop and it was as spectacular. I prefer pork over all other meats and will often order a pork chop if it's on the menu. I know that sounds odd, but honestly the pork chop is unforgiving and has to be a great choice or no one would ever order it. I definitely recommend that pork chop. Our drinks stayed full and it was overall a lovely experience.

Yelp
We walked in around 7pm on a Wednesday and added our name to a waitlist for an outdoor seat. We grabbed a drink at their back bar and enjoyed the incredible atmosphere: live music and sunset views. Our server was friendly and attentive, she made great recommendations all evening. Around :20 later our table was ready. We got straight into entrees and went with the pork chop and the special: yellowfin tuna steak. Both were excellent. The tuna accoutrements (pineapple, bacon, and soy infused rice) stole the show and were incredibly decadent. The pork chop came with a thick crusty sear that was super flavorful. The thick cut was juicy and a large enough portion that I barely ate half before passing the remainder to my husband to polish off. For dessert we had the pecan pie. More of a tart than a pie, the pecan flavor was exactly what you'd expect with a bourbon ice cream that was a great compliment. The tart (crust?) was hard and a little difficult to cut. The pork chop came with a cheese bread pudding side that was amazing in its own right. Overall we had an amazing experience with a wonderful atmosphere. The perfect place to relax and enjoy a night in Duck.

Yelp
Best fine dining restaurant in Outer Banks. Service - A We were seated promptly at 4:30pm. Our waitress was warm and knowledgeable. She anticipated our needs, and for dishes that we were sharing, she brought a second plate. Ambiance - A This restaurant doesn't feel touristy. It's dark, moody and stylish. It was a welcome escape from the sun, heat and humidity right outside. Food - A I can't stop thinking of how good the food was here. I had lowered expectations, because usually food in vacation locations isn't quite up to par with big cities. But everything we had was unique, delicious, and extremely high quality. Much of it is seasonal, so I'm unsure that these items will always be available. Highly recommend the strawberry salad. The Caesar was delicious as well but not as unique. The pork chop with blueberry sauce was so good. As were the jumbo lump crab cakes. My daughters had the steak and it looked perfectly cooked. I love how the sides were a bit untraditional, but even more delicious than expected. Highly highly recommend this place. Try to get a reservation ahead of time.

Sujata S.

Yelp
Amazing food, service and location. We ordered the crab cakes (yummy). Hummus and gnocchi. It was all so delicious. And service was great too. We were seated after a short wait even though we didn't have a reservation and they looked super busy.

G U.

Yelp
Great views and a fun little bar/waiting area. Definitely recommend reservation. Food was good, but not outstanding! My husband loved the tuna special. We started with the she crab soup, which was really delicious. We also got the gnocchi, which was okay. I didn't love that it was made with cornmeal... gave it a weird texture but the taste was good.

Jess S.

Yelp
This place is absolutely fantastic! And a big heads up: IT IS OPEN DURING THE OFF SEASON. I wanted to get that out at the top! It's a great special occasion restaurant, we were celebrating my birthday, but I could tell there were a lot of locals sitting up at the bar. The food is mix of Southern Comfort and seafood. My oyster stew was INCREDIBLE. I could have had two bowls!! The shrimp and grits were moan inducing. The crab cakes were so delicious. The crème brûlée was so decadent and rich! The drinks were lovely compliments to our meals. The only thing not to write home about is the bread. Kind of reminded me of store bought potato rolls. Not really worth the extra purchase. But that's honestly nothing to worry about. Everything was 10/10 and I wish I had an extra day so I could go back for another round of delicious food! The staff is observant, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Reservations are strongly recommended. I also suggest you leave time to get a little lost/enjoy the journey as you locate the restaurant along the beautiful boardwalk area. The setting is lovely, and I'm quite sure it offers breathtaking views of the sound at sunset. Make sure to include this on your next trip!

Yelp
Just finished a fantastic dinner here after snagging a last minute table. The ambiance is great-casual but sophisticated at the same time with a great view of the sunset over the sound. We had a special soft shell appetizer with the shrimp and grits and catfish entrees. Our server was attentive and friendly and the meal was well paced-we never felt rushed but it didn't lag either. Everything was fresh and delicious. The bar outback had music as well. Overall it was a great experience!

Yelp
The Blue Point was able to accommodate our party of 10 and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The service was excellent, as were our cocktails. Everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. The fried green tomatoes and the seared tuna special were the table favorites. The view from the bar out back is lovely, especially at sunset. We had a truly memorable experience.

Ted G.

Yelp
The Blue Point has a uniquely interesting menu, this is not your average boardwalk restaurant. it is much more sophisticated than I had expected. With a menu that incorporates a significant amount of vegetables into every dish, it is a gamble for me to rely heavily on one entree, I tend to fear the unknown of too much greenery. The fresh burrata & spiced butternut squash puree was an enlightening small plate, the rustic croutons and even the seared apples complimented the squash puree very well. Either way you can't go wrong with squash, it's an equally universal vegetable as the carrot. If you like salad and Gnocchi, you may just adore the house made cornmeal gnocchi. But if you're like me and prefer to keep the salad separate from the main attraction, this entree was too heavy on the baby kale shiitakes for me. I am sure you will find the comfortable and casual environment right on the water and easy place to sit back and enjoy an intimate conversation regardless. Cheers!

Yelp
After 35 mostly good years in business, it has become obvious that The Blue Point now rests on its laurels and the swell of vacationers in the OBX. The menu is stale and the few changes there are, seem difficult to understand. For example, replacing their extraordinary rib small plate with run of the mill chicken wings that can be had just about anywhere. Servers are no where near as attentive and the whole staff moves with an arrogance that seems to say "we're The Blue Point, we don't care because we don't have to". True, they still pack them in. Myself, one too many overcooked or long awaited meals followed by an empty apology for me to ever go back. In these last 35 years we have seen the restaurant transform from a uniquely simple but elegant bar and diner to an expansive facility with multiple indoor and outdoor seating options. Unfortunately, they have not been able to successfully execute the presentation of their original special OBX experience within their now ever growing complex. You may also wish to look beyond the hype and consider other options.

Yelp
It was great. Beautiful restaurant, great views, excellent service, yummy food and drinks!! If you are in Duck, eat here at least once. It is an experience to remember!

Brian R.

Yelp
Amazing food, great vibes, beautiful location. On vacation on the Outer Banks, and we'd planned to go to a different restaurant with outdoor seating. Luckily for us it started raining and we were able to get a table here. Can't say enough about the place, everything was great. I believe I can say without question this was the best pork chop I've ever eaten in my life. My daughters corn bread gnocchi (I think that's what it was) also incredible. Waitress was wonderful. Ambiance is truly exceptional. If you're looking to have a slightly more high-class meal in the Outer Banks this really should be your destination!

Aimée M.

Yelp
Good food, fantastic service and a great place to watch the sunset on the water. Def recommend.

Yelp
The Blue Point provides an outstanding dining experience. While ownership has passed in 2021 from the original owners to the new owners, siblings Ryan, Leigh, and Jamie Raskin. The trio has continued the tradition of culinary excellence in Duck, NC. I've traveled the country and have dined in New York, LA, Chicago, etc. etc. and The Blue Point rivals any place I've been for location, ambience, service and quality of apps, small and large plates, and drinks. As anyone who has dined at The Blue Point knows, the location offers a view of spectacular sunsets. Once inside the restaurant, you note the cool and unique design that the original owners John Power and Sam McGann brought to their space 30+ years ago. Vintage tables, booths, lighting, bar area with comfy seating. It's like comfort for the soul sitting down and nestled into your space. Our server, Mark, was outstanding. Attentive, not overbearing, providing space in time to ponder the drink and food menus. A server elevates the experience or deflates it- Mark's interaction with our 6-person party was perfectly calibrated. Our drink orders were prepared to perfection. Key to the beginning of our anticaped fun. Beverages ignite the party or drown it. Our drinks lit the fuse and the party was on. We began with the Blue Point Carolina she crab bisque. It was delicious and served at just the right temperature to bring out all of the flavor. That was joined by the soft crab on cole slaw- well plated, and prepared. The mixed green salad was prepared with pickled strawberries toasted sunflower seeds and strawberry vincotto vinaigrette. A cacophony of flavors working so well. The hit were the fried green tomatoes. Lightly battered, fried, and with tasty pimento cheese. Our group raved over them. Just when we thought things could not get any better, the entrees were served. Scalloped cooked to perfection on quinoa, with roasted apples, aleppo spiced pork lordons, raisins and apple brown butter vinaigrette. The southern shrimp and mill grits with scallops, smoked tasso ham. Exquisite texture, taste. The Virginia catfish did not taste like chicken- lol. Because it was served lightly breaded, with red beans and rice with alligator sausage, house pickles (yum), topped with Cajun ramoulade. Last, the special flounder was outstanding. Our dessert was shared creme broule and topped off an overall 5 star dining experience. Kudos to the chef, sous chef and the entire service staff. I cannot say enough good things about The Blue Point. Do not miss this place while in Duck, NC!!

Yelp
We reserved a table at this restaurant at the behest of my best friend's parents. We had heard good things. When I went on Resy to look for the reservation, I only saw options for a high top barstools, except I didn't realize the description of the seat on the website. It seemed like that was the only option. We walk into the restaurant and the last seating was at 8:30, which was around the time we made a reservation. Hours online are incorrect- they do not close at 8:30. We walked inside and we're shown to the bar. The restaurant is practically empty and the bar was full of I presume locals and frequent customers. This would be one of the few places I've been told to reserve for a bar when typically bar is first come first serve. I had asked the hostess if we could be seated at a table as they were plenty tables open- but she said "you reserved a bar, you sit at the bar" I attempted to explain to her how I didn't realize what I reserved and the bar was already a little rowdy at this point, but we were seated at the bar nonetheless. The servers didn't seem to be interested in us as much as the other people at the bar, it took a while to be asked what we would like to order. My friend ordered a Caesar salad and I was ready for my entrée. The server asked me if I wanted them both brought out at the same time, or separately, I said same time - to which she replied to my friend "I'm going to bring out your Caesar salad first before I put in her entrée". She was also talking over me a little bit. I ended up ordering a starter so that my friend and I can eat at the same time....needless to say, the dynamic was a little strange. I told the waitress I was avoiding red meat and she said that was an awful idea. I didn't ask for an opinion on my dietary preference. I ordered the she crab soup which in my opinion was a little sherry heavy, they only have a bowl not a cup option and it is $16 for I would say a bowl that is full 1/4. My friend ordered a Caesar salad. It looked pretty good upon presentation, but she noticed a couple leaves that we're wilted and did not finish completely. We ordered the gnocchi to split. I didn't realize that it had peas in it, but what was the most shocking was the amount of peas and seemed as though there were a handful of delicious gnocchi, mushrooms, onions, over a bed of peas, absolute overkill. At this point, there were some drunk people at the bar to the point that I couldn't fully sit back, they were loud, interrupted our dinner, and started singing sorority chants, as if they were the only ones in the restaurant. The servers didn't say anything and no one came up to them to let them know that they were disturbing the other customers. All in all, I am simply saying that the service here is not great, I would almost say, come here earlier in the day versus later, because by the end of the day, it seemed as though we were a bother versus a customer. The food was not bad, which is why I give it two stars , however it is very expensive for the quantity and just in general it seems as though a lot of items are made in house so that is a plus, however there are so many delicious restaurants in this area that I don't really see myself coming back here out of all the rest.

Alexa S.

Yelp
Yum! What a great place for a special occasion. I came with my man to celebrate teacher appreciation week and it was delicious. We sat at the bar and the bar tender gave me a free glass of wine because he was a retired teacher! So sweet. I got the crab cakes and they were SO good. They were also huge, I couldn't finish them. My man got the salmon and basically liked his plate. We share a side of Mac and cheese, which was also delicious. The view here was amazing. If you want dinner with a view then ask to sit outside!

Margaret H.

Yelp
We left the kids at home and treated ourselves to a night out, and what a treat it was! I got the tuna special and my hubby got the crabcakes. Both were divine. The service was amazing as well. The portion sizes were just right that we were able to squeeze in some dessert. I opted for the peach cobbler and the hubby had the creme brûlée. Bother very tasty, but our entrees were the hit of the night. Can't wait to go back!

Shelby A.

Yelp
First time in the OBX and The Blue Point is a must stop. Whether it's just for sunset drinks or a romantic dinner it's perfect. Our service was fantastic and we were given great recommendations on their specialties. The Burrata was out of this world. Definitely a bit more on the expensive side for dinner but well worth it. I am one of the pickiest critics for seafood and BP met all my requirements. The views are beautiful and right on the water. I advise bringing a jacket and wearing your hair up as it does get rather windy and chilly quick!

Liz B.

Yelp
My mom and I had reservations at 8PM and stopped by around 6:45PM to hang out at the back bar and were allowed to get seated earlier than our reserved time! They had live music and we grabbed drinks quickly. Once we were seated we ordered the fried green tomatoes (8/10 I wasn't a fan of the pimento cheese but my mom seemed to like it), my mom got the Pork Chop which she enjoyed a lot and the sear on it was really nice, I got the Crab cakes which had very little filler and came with this amazing veggie couscous (9.5/10 since the sauce was a little bitter for my taste). For dessert my mom got the vanilla creme brûlée, which she said was the best she's had in a while and I got the key lime pie which was heavenly!

David G.

Yelp
Love this place, service and food is always great. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.

Jacopo V.

Yelp
Smoke and mirrors is a fair way to describe this sorry restaurant. Go for the music and sunset, but stay out of the restaurant, that is unless you enjoy being treated extremely rudely by the wait staff and chef. Food was either bland, burned or extremely salty. Prosciutto isn''t real prosciutto. Heirloom Tomatoes were nothing more than a hot house tomato. They give you bread plates, but there's no bread offered at this fine restaurant. My food was burned and instead of turning around a new dish within a reasonable amount of time, they made me wait 30 minutes while the rest of the party finished their meal, before bringing a new dish. It was at the end of the night and they were not busy. It was extremely rude. OBX has more demand than there is supply of restaurants, they know it and take advantage of it. I don't like to give poor reviews but they earned it.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
I came here for lunch while in Duck and had a great experience. I liked how the seating was open and right in the view of the water which was a nice backdrop for the meal. The prosecco was refreshing on a hot day. The crab soup was delicious. The shrimp and grits were tasty as well. The cobbler with ice cream was warm and sweet. Everything from the drinks to the food tasted great. I would definitely come back here. The service was good as well.

Mara M.

Yelp
We had an amazing family meal here! Our server was really friendly and on top of everything. The vibe is upscale lodge meets diner - very unique. We had drinks out back at sunset then came inside for dinner. We shared the biscuits, green tomatoes and she crab soup. All were very good! For my main dish, I had the special, which was yellowfin tuna with spicy farro. It was delicious! The crab cakes, gnocchi and trout also looked amazing. The key lime pie was good and the pecan pie was even better. Definitely recommend!

Phil B.

Yelp
The sunset view is incredible. Great back area. And amazing drinks. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Michael B.

Yelp
Our family dined last night at the Blue Point. The service and food was fantastic. The staff was very attentive. It was great to find a fine dining restaurant in Duck. The prices were great. They put us. in a VIP room. That was a huge plus. The atmosphere immediately sets a very serene feeling. We will definitely go here again

Lily J.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite restaurant on planet earth. Amazing food, great service, beautiful location. A highlight of our vacation every year.

Lisa R.

Yelp
One of the best kept secrets on the Outer Banks. The food is absolutely phenomenal. The service is four star. I absolutely love the Cobb salad and the fried green tomatoes.

Nellis C.

Yelp
Possibly the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. Seated at the bar next to a very loud (phone registered 83 decibels) over served group talking about orgasms and c-sections (not kidding). No attempt by management to calm things down. Bartender made a big deal about how we could not be moved until she came over to our section and got a taste for herself. Then we were moved to high tops on a patio next to the hostess station. I had been under the apparently mistaken impression that this was a fine dining place with good food and professional service. NOT. Feel badly treated all around -- the opposite of hospitality. Read the room guys. NEVER again!

Greg C.

Yelp
Superb service, lovely water view, excellent menu selections. Crab cakes were some of the best I have ever eaten- and I've eaten many. Best restaurant experience we had in Duck. We'll be back!

Kayla M.

Yelp
We chose the Blue Point for our 1 Year wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. We had a reservation for 5pm but went a little early, figured we would grab a drink at the Back Bar but we were able to be seated right away. Elaine was our server and she was vibrant and had that southern cheer about her. I got the Loosey Goosey cocktail and it was perfect. For apps we got the crab soup, my husband a Caesar salad, and the crap dip on special. I had the beef tenderloin cooked medium and it was perfect. My husband got the crab cakes and they were also amazing - no filler. All meat. We both and the Mac / 4 cheese side and it was crispy on top. Loved it. After dinner we went to the Back Bar to watch the sunset and we got a seat right on the water. It was a perfect anniversary dinner. Thanks, Blue Point!

Ried S.

Yelp
First time coming to Corolla and friends/clients recommended the Blue Point as a must for fine dining. We brought my mom and aunt here, both NC natives who grew up coming to Corolla. Reservations are a must and should be booked several weeks in advance. We were lucky to clear the waitlist and got an early table. I found the food and service to be just fine, rather good. But not spectacular. I live in Austin and New York so standards are expectedly higher, but that said, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. She-Crab Soup was very nice, as was my tuna steak. We skipped desert in favor of ice cream further up the road, but the menu was appealing.

Alex Z.

Yelp
This place is famous and recommended by a friend. But it doesn't live up to the expectation. First of all the service was awful, our waitress was MIA most of the night, only saw her 4 times, when we sat down/took order/food deliver/check, nowhere to see her in between. She has never check on us if we need anything else. And we waited a long time for our food to come, I saw her went to the heating lamp area to pick up our food all at once that they have been sitting under the lamp for a while. The other runner are good, always around to help refill water and take away empty plates, but sometimes too on top of it they kept asking if we have finished our plate while we are still working on it. Feels rushed. The food in general is good, I had the crab cake which has a lot of crab inside. The shecrab soup also is good size and great flavor. But they are really over priced.

Marjorie D.

Yelp
We eat here every time we come to the beach. Love the sunset views and the food is always awesome. Very high level of service and ambiance is incredible

Ryan G.

Yelp
This was my 2nd time family vacationing in OBX but first time at The Blue Point and they did not disappoint, so much so I went twice in 4 days, and I must say they were so accommodating. 1st night it was just myself and my wife, I made a Resy for 6 that same night and they squeezed me in because I wanted to bring the rest of may family. I had to change it to 9 they didn't have it initially but when something came open they called me to book! That's is true customer service. In my two visits I had the same dishes lol biscuits app, wedged salad, and shrimp & grits. These shrimp & grits are some of the best I've had. The addition of small scallops to the dish takes it to another level. I'm also a tough critic when it comes to Key Lime Pie being in if my favorite dessert and not only was the presentation great it was amazing. Not too sweet not too tart. My wife had the pecan pie with whiskey ice cream and loved it. If you are in Duck, NC or Corolla, NC I highly recommend eating at The Blue Point. It's hard to find great food AND service and they delivered on both.

Great service, the drinks were pretty and tasted good but nothing outstanding. Same with the food, it was definitely good but overpriced. The restaurant itself had a relatively sophisticated vibe and the views of the water were gorgeous at sunset. Worth going once but I'm not in a rush to go again.

Yelp
The food and service here was spectacular. We go there every visit to OBX. I highly recommend The Blue Point restaurant.

Yelp
Awful! I made a reservation three weeks ago with a very agitated attendant. When we arrived we sat at a table that dripped condensation on us throughout our meal. After informing the manager about our experience she victim blamed and knew all along the table had this problem! I think we were deliberately placed at the table. It was terrible! The food didn't pair well with the sides - the flavor was bland. Save your $ and head over to STEAMERS!! Trust me you don't need this mediocrity...You'll thank me!

Yelp
Now, to end our OBX experience on a high note... this was one of the rare times we chose to eat inside in OBX (because of covid). It was well worth it too... We actually scored a great table inside, right during sunset (great pics, for sure). But if you manage to score an outside table you'll be treated to something truly special (but our inside version was still good). Foodwise, nothing to complain about at all. While not incredibly original, the food was well made, tasty, and presented very well (see how pretty the food looked on the plate). I appreciate minimal styling of my food and so I really liked Blue Point. I'd say the pork chop was my fave, but my dining companions also loved their steak and fish entrees. Overall an excellent last meal in OBX...

Yelp
Service was amazing. I'm a pescatarian and only eat fish. Not a ton of options for me since all the fish dishes have meat in them. My sons catfish was amazing as I tried that. the rice and beans had alligator. I ended up ordering a Caesar salad and it was overdressed and half wilted. No croutons because their croutons were toasted in bacon fat. They loved their steaks. No bread basket either which I always enjoy.

Yelp
We both got the sweet basil soup. It was delicious! Next up we got an appetizer portion of soft crabs it was wonderful. Lightly breaded and multilayered with all sorts of goodies. It was definitely enough for a meal. We have been coming here probably since it opened and it never disappoints.

Yelp
Not gay friendly as indicated. We were treated differently and placed in the worst seats at the bar. Service was terrible and we started to notice we hadn't been checked on in a while. Other couples (not same sex couples) got their food and came and went before we got served. We ended up leaving after not receiving our food after an hour of waiting (at the bar) and shared our experience with the manager and bartender. Neither were bothered or apologized, just got defensive. It's a shame because the food looked really good! It's 2024 and just really disappointing to see businesses still operate and agree with this behavior.

Yelp
We were here off season, so the place was a bit quiet... but the food was excellent. So excellent, in fact, they were came back the next night and I ordered the same meal... had to make sure it was not just a fluke the first time. Nope, not fluke, was mahi-mahi over farro... and it was delightful. The key lime desert, served in a circular portion, was very nice... The restaurant overlooks the bay, and when the weather cooperates, the sunsets are gorgeous. The music was comfortable and played a nice selection.

Yelp
Oyster stew is on point and so is wedge salad. Never a bad meal! Empress gin is the best and service is exquisite!

Yelp
Reviews were all over the place but we really enjoyed ourselves. Last time we went it was about 8 years ago. Service was excellent. Everything tasted amazingly fresh - loved the she-crab soup (a tiny bit spicy) and the crab cakes were just superb. It was a little loud and we were in a high top by the bar, but enjoyed the vibrant ambience. We will be back!
