Best Crawfish in Austin | Eater Austin

"Though the Stonelake Office Park restaurant isn’t actually on the water, it still serves up pounds of boiled crawfish with sides, as well as crawfish po’ boys, crawfish/shrimp etouffee, fried crawfish tails, and more. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are Uber Eats deliveries; and there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

Great experience! The server was attentive and considerate. We had a big party, and she brought us all a round of waters before getting our drink orders, which is how we prefer it. The ambience was good, lots of sports were playing on the big screens. They even managed to get us all our food at about the same time. The food itself was delicious! We demolished our plates and had a great time. This is a family favorite, and I really enjoyed coming back. We'll definitely stop by again next time we can.

Google
The Boat restaurant is a great place for entertaining. They have a great outdoor seating area with outdoor deck and playscape for kids. Inside is a huge wide open area with TVs all around for watching games. They have a small arcade area with about three or four games and most importantly they play live music weekly. As for food, it’s pretty good too. I ordered the fish tacos with two sides and the portions are huge. It was crawfish boil season and this place caters to it as they were selling crawfish by the pound. They have a big drink menu with several types of cocktails. Margaritas are pretty good too overall this place thumbs up. With a fresh coat of paint and some minor repairs this place will be an excellent place for entertaining and bringing kids. It’s just fun.

Google
It was quiet just after the lunch rush, so quickly seated. Orders taken and drinks came correctly. This is where it started going off. It maybe just an issue me, but I don't like eating in front of others at the table and my food was brought out almost 10 minutes before the rest. That's an issue with kitchen management. The sauce request I had made when I order was forgotten but corrected as soon as I pointed out the error. The food was very good. For what they are changing here, I expected much better service.

Google
I tried The Boat on a business trip earlier this month. I got their blackened shrimp tacos and a ceviche. The ceviche was good and I liked the fried tortilla halves that came with it instead of the regular salted crackers. The shrimp tacos were the bomb! The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and the sauce they put on them had a good taste that just tied it all together. Service was good, my waitress was very nice and would stop by every so often to check in. Plenty of seating and parking.

Google
The food was yummy and the service was fantastic! We'll definitely be back! :) I wish there was more fruit on the pancakes, which is my only negative. 😆

Google
It's a decent seafood restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful, and food was good. Ordered the combo plate with shrimp and fried oysters. Food was good and the fried oysters were delicious.

Google
Great atmosphere, service and food. We stopped in for lunch and everything was good. The food options are awesome and our food was very good. Our server was super helpful and provided great advice on some menu options. I did find it interesting they have a sign that says if your bill is $100 or more it’s a %20 fee? It also has that %20 for groups of 6 or more and that’s not gratuity from how I read it?

Google
My cajun pasta was delicious. The sausage over powered the dish is the only displeasure. Waitress Heaven was friendly. helpful and attentive!! Many Thanks. The atmosphere was lively, not a spot for a quiet night out but for high energy 👌.

Yelp
Overall 10/10! We opted to dine outside so we could checkout the kids play area for future trips. Our boys will surely enjoy the boat house when we come back! Service was top notch! Always attentive and gave us a great rundown of the best menu items. Food hit the spot! The oysters were perfectly crafted and the boil had great citrus and spice flavors. We chose the medium heat level which paired great with the Bishop Pineapple Cider. It was a great random stop for us and we will be returning!

Yelp
Came on a Thursday night (Texas brews $2 off!) when there was live music on the patio, and this place was really busy. Usually when I'm by myself, I just find a space at the bar, but the bar area was full. I was given a small table, and my server was really good, but stretched pretty thin. There are a lot of great options for beer taps, and they offer flights. My server talked me into the shrimp Po'boy, which was pretty good. After I paid my check, though, I had to wait more than 10 minutes for her to come back and give me an itemized receipt. Not her fault, she was just assigned too many tables outside and in.

Yelp
Love this place so much! The staff is sweet and they make sure you're happy with everything. My go to bartender is the one and only Randee, my husband and I know her from many years. We don't consider our selves as regulars but we are regular seasonal patrons because we LOVE the crawfish here! I like that they have bands playing on the weekends and sometimes during the week. Perfect outdoor seating for a fun spring lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Nine happy customer's. We tried this place on Father's Day and were very pleased. Bacon wrapped shrimp, ceviche & fried pickles were great appetizers. The michelada's were quality. Half of the group put down the crawfish/crab leg/shrimp boil. The sautéed shrimp and the shrimp & grits were "New Orleans" good. I'm not a seafood person when it's fishy. It was clean and very enjoyable here. The beignets were a good finisher and good things were said about the key lime pie.

Jono B.

Yelp
Great place. The customer service was great. Our waitress Cassidy was super friendly. Their crawfish prices are a bit crazy though haha. But this is a really cool place to hangout. I never knew it was so active inside. We ate outside and just missed out on the nightly activity (it was a band our night but they also do game nights and trivia nights and more). I'll def be back.

Yelp
Nice place to grab some seafood, I've been here several times and it's always a pleasant experience. Several TVs located inside to watch sports, live music on the patio, and great service. Such a chill spot to bring friends or family.
google avatar

Gail M.

Yelp
This place has really upped their game. Ahi Tuna Salad is terrific, love their fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, roasted garlic potatoes. Super casual, great outdoor deck. Just wish they'd invest in new outdoor furniture. Most uncomfortable chairs & tables in Austin. I carry out a chair from the dining room and all is good. Service is excellent, tho. Especially Henry. He's my fave.
google avatar

Ralph S.

Yelp
This was the worst experience EVER!!! I'm just commenting on our experience tonight because we usually like this place. The service really sucked tonight. The food was tasty as usual.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Went here for a work function and must say I wasn't expecting much. The outside is not appealing so that's why I've never eaten here. I was impressed with the fry on the shrimp, nice seasoning, and very quick service. Talk about 5 big pieces of shrimp. Liked the seasoning on the fries, as well.

Amer A.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, 2 stocked bars and 2 covered patios.Brandi was chill and recommended good drinks . Happy hour was very affordable & of value. Shrimp tacos are on point for reasonable price.
google avatar

Shayer S.

Yelp
The Oysters Rockefellers were the bomb! What a pleasant surprise! The combo basket was full of flavor. Chose fried catfish and fried shrimp with Onion Rings and Hush puppies. Huge portions, can be shared with 2 people. The seasoning was simple but effective. It wasn't as bland as I was expecting. Everything was really tasty. Service was excellent. There's a patio with a stage for live music on some evenings and a playscape for the kiddos! Food was pricey considering the location but still less than some places closer to the city. Definitely will be back once it gets nicer outside and can chill on the patio while kiddo plays. If only the highway view could be replaced with water and boats!!

Yelp
I haven't been to The Boat, in awhile but it is still as good as I remember it being. I was here recently for a birthday luncheon and the food was great. I had crab cake balls and some beers. Our server was super pleasant as she brought the plates of food out to us. Everything looked fantastic. I wish I would have ordered the boiled shrimp as they looked tasty. Several people I sat next to had the oysters. I'll have to get the shrimp cocktail and calamari on the next visit. If you haven't been here, you should stop In for some good seafood and cold beers.
google avatar

Greg H.

Yelp
As I have a Cajun background my wife as part of my Birthday brought us here since we have never tried it. It was a fun place, some nice and interesting decor both inside and out. I had the gumbo and we tried their Boudin balls. The service was fast, both in seating us and getting our orders an food. The drinks were fine, which is my overall feeling about the place. It was not the best but no where near the worst. It was middle ground, this is of course from one visit on one day. These are the hardest reviews to do as nothing really stood out good or bad. It was average. The food was fine, the drinks were fine, service was fine. Not a bad place for some Cajun style food on an average day. My wife has a different opinion, she got the shrimp and grits and really enjoyed it. I admit I tend to be more picky on Cajun food then other types so take that as you will. But still overall the experience was pleasant, the food was fine and I wouldn't say no to another visit and try.

Yelp
This place needs to do a deep cleaning. Window sills have spiders and tons of dust. My friend was craving fish and chips so we gave this place a chance. Good fish. I forgot to ask for vinegar but it didn't need it. Queso was interesting. It tasted like broccoli was in it but probably not. It's a pretty run down building. I just wish it were cleaner. I hope the kitchen is clean. I'd be nervous to eat oysters here.

Yelp
Months later I realize I my original review autocorrected to The Dominion instead of the Domain. The Boat is still cool!
google avatar

Steffie S.

Yelp
Cold beer, good food, live music, AC, and an extended HH. I can't say there is anything outstanding about The Boat, but there is nothing egregiously bad about it either. If you're looking for a place to hangout with friends or a significant other, The Boat is an acceptable venue. This is not intended to be a "bad" review; it's just that I wasn't "wowed" by anything. The music is outside, so you'll have to brave the Texas heat. The tables do have some shade, but no fans or mister system. The service was okay- the wait staff was confused about who was suppose to serve our table, but we were served promptly nonetheless. We shared fish sticks and a big salad. We opted for onion rings over fries, and they were quite tasty. The Boat is in a convenient location with ample parking. Check it out and let me know what you think.
google avatar

Jenn C.

Yelp
It gets 4 stars only because of the price of crawfish. I know it's a rough season for the mid bugs but the price didn't scare me from ordering my favorite treat! Best crawfish in Austin! The tuna sashimi salad is yummy!
google avatar

Yelp
Wednesday night, date night, party of 2. Not busy at all, maybe 5 or 6 other parties were there. We were seated immediately but took our server a bit to greet us. The menu is large! Once we ordered, our food came out promptly but again, our server did not check in on us in a timely manner. The food was good. I ordered the hush puppies and the shrimp platter - great seasoning. My boyfriend had the redfish platter and he said it was good. Overall, it was a good experience. Will be back to try more off the menu.
google avatar

Clarissa D.

Yelp
First time visiting last night, and overall I really enjoyed my experience. I got the shrimp tacos and ceviche, both were delicious and decent sized. Cassidy was our server and she was awesome. Definitely going back to try their boiled crawfish.
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
Good crawfish, little over cooked, but the sauce is where it is at It is crazy how much they charge for a piece of corn and a piece of potato... they charged an extra $3 and it's a half of a potato and a half of a corn... It's also crazy how much they are charging for a lb of crawfish here... Felt like a Buffalo Wild Wings or a long John silver but for Crawfish Won't be coming back
google avatar

Nigel M.

Yelp
The crawfish is good, the workers are nice, and the whole place is just a nice little vibe, HOWEVER it seemed like the policy has changed, my total was 94.24 but it seems like they charged me 44 dollars and then 50 dollars, TWO separate transactions I guess, and I don't understand that
google avatar

Cam H.

Yelp
The appetizers were good but not anything special. I specifically did not like their garlic Parmesan wings though, had no flavor. The crawfish was probably the best thing I ate. Very fresh and juicy! Excellent service, very attentive waiter for a party of 9 people. Very chill vibe inside. There is outdoor seating as well.

Yelp
I've been coming to 'The Boat' since it was 'Sam's Boat', how I haven't written a review here beforehand is beyond me. I was reminded to write a review as I was looking through my phone and found some photos from my last visit here. For the purposes of this review, I am solely reviewing my last visit where my friend and I enjoyed Oysters David. This is a starter that is made up of fried oysters on tortilla chips topped with pico and avocado-serrano sauce. The oysters for this starter are not of the highest caliber but do the trick when looking for a bite to go with a beer or cocktail. The kick from the avocado-serrano sauce pairs nicely with most beers on tap at this location. During my last visit, the server that my friend and I had was a riot. He had us in stitches and his service was prompt and courteous. Overall, this is one of those types of places where the food is often mediocre at best and all of us locals know and go to if for nothing else a good time.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
I have been craving crawfish for weeks and I finally decided to get my fix. I did some research online and I saw that The Boat had great reviews. We went in and we were sat immediately by the nicest hostess. The server immediately greeted us and we quickly placed an order. My husband had a ranch water cocktail and since I'm pregnant I stuck with Shirley Temple. We ordered the calamari as a starter. It was pretty darn good - nicely breaded. Some pieces were a little bit over cooked but it was still super tasty especially with the sauce. Now for the reason I came here... the crawfish. The seasoning was PERFECT. I was upset I didn't ask for buttery until I took my first bite and quickly realized... I didn't need it. The seasoning was so out of this world I just wanted to savor it. I ordered 3 pounds and each pound comes with a corn and a potato. So 3 came with it. I devoured the entire thing. Whenever I want crawfish... THIS is where I will be going. No questions asked. I have searched far and wide for tasty austin crawfish and this is the place.

James R.

Yelp
Got no reason to hate on this place. Came here because it butts up against the parking lot of the hotel I was staying in. Thur-Sun they have live music on the patio which I could hear from my room. So I finally made my way over to try the food and I must say I was pleasantly suprised. This location used to be part of a chain I believe but has reopened into a family owned location. They do a thriving crawfish business, it seemed most everyone in there was scarfing down loads of the crawfish. Crawfish is too much work for too little reward for James so I had boiled shrimp, their seared ahi tuna, and some calamari. All of it was tasty and good. There is an upcharge for the dirty rice which is strange because that was in my opinion the worst thing they served as a side. Service was excellent every visit. First visit I had a server named Heaven and she did an excellent job keeping my drink full and checking on me and others on a busy night. She passed my server test by giving me honest answers on questions I had about what to order. If someone is less than thrilled with an item but tries to sell it to me anyway then I have no faith in them as a server. Not looking for someone to trash the food or the restaurant, but provide an honest answer about taste and prep and she did exactly that. Kept me from buying something that could have ruined the visit if it tasted bad. Servers on my other visits were just as attentive. As a place for some seafood and a big bar atmosphere this place works. Lots of TV's so I could watch March Madness, good service and really good food will have me going back when I have work in the area.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Service was friendly and attentive but just wasn't crazy about my meal (the fried oyster basket) A lot of fried and not a lot of oysters. Fries were "ehh" as were the chips for the queso. We ordered the shrimp boil and the shrimp were done perfectly and the redfish plate was pretty good. They did have a full bar and naked my cocktail. So a 3.5 may be a better score but I left feeling a bit heavy and of course, I can't blame myself
google avatar

Kara M.

Yelp
This place is less than a mile from us and we finally decided to give it a try since we were in the mood for seafood. Easy-access right off of the highway and positioned next to a Shell gas station and behind a hotel that it seems to be associated with, the restaurant looks like a literal boat and has fun vibes. Overall, the food was good but nothing impressive, and the prices were pretty steep given the vibe of the place (workers are dressed casually and blend in with guests - they don't even wear name tags). I would be open to visiting again, but it wouldn't be my go-to. Everything was brought out fresh and hot. Food ratings: - Shrimp cocktail (3/5): Plump shrimp. Very slightly slimy if we're being nit picky, and 1 of them wasn't deveined. Cocktail sauce was average. - Fried pickles (3.5/5): These were good, but would be better if the pickles were sliced a bit thicker. Very crispy, though, which is nice. Sauce was good. - Oysters Rockefeller (5/5): Probably my favorite thing we ordered. Comes with bread and plenty of lemon wedges, which is nice. Tasty! - Shrimp and grits (4/5): Good, as expected. Nothing crazy. Flavor is decent. Shrimp are good size. - Buffalo wings (4/5): Not pictured, but standard. Fresh and hot and great size/value. Crispy. - Side of fries (3/5): These were mediocre. Needed salt. I liked the crisp outside and soft inside. Not worth ordering, though.

Yelp
This place been done ruined since it became the boat ! Overpricing meals and taken advantage of Austin Influx . Now charging 25 a lb for crawfish saying it's market price . If that's market price then why are all other businesses selling it for almost 10 dollars cheaper ... exactly ! Just scamming

Terry H.

Yelp
What a lovely lunch we had today! The Boat was recommended by friends whose opinion we trust. We're in town for a wedding and staying about 360 steps from the hotel to the restaurant, so it seemed like it was pre-determined that we try it out. So happy we did. Started with 6 boiled shrimp. The were HUGE and perfectly prepared. My husband had the oyster Po' boy. The oysters were huge and he said they were perfectly breaded and cooked. I had the crawfish platter. These were frozen, not fresh, so the texture was a little different than I'm used to but they were nice. Very garlicky (!!) and spicy. We were offered a free taste before we ordered to make sure we would like them. That was very nice of our server, Sarah. We polished off the Key lime pie which was divine. Probably the very best I've ever had, and I've had plenty as evidenced by the size of my behind! I really enjoyed the overall tone of The Boat. Football on all of the TVs was awesome. As a football gal from South Austin, I was in football Heaven. The other diners were pleasant and not crazy loud. There were a couple of families whose kids were enamored of the pinball machines. Happiness abounded for all. It's the little things that make a dining experience special. Sarah wasn't a "little thing." She was the best part of our lunch experience, because we all know a mediocre server can ruin a meal. On top of everything, we never had to ask for beverage refills (one of my pet peeves). And, we got new glasses with fresh tea and lemon, which is a nice touch. Sarah he kindly offered a to-go iced tea which I happily accepted. Sarah's personality shone through when we chatted. She has a marvelous sense of humor, which added to her skills as a server, make her the go-to gal at The Boat. Sure hope she'll be there the next time we come here. As a South Austin gal, I rarely venture north of the river, but The Boat is definitely worth the trip and the traffic. * photos of 1 lb. crawfish, corn, potatoes, and mushrooms; Key lime pie; what WAS boiled shrimp. I ate them before I had the sense to take a pix of them. They were HUGE and tasty.

Yelp
Service and seating has been speedy both times I came this weekend. First time was Friday around 6pm and today (Sunday) at 230 pm. This place has so much seating inside and outside (shade available). Plenty of screens all around to watch sports and 2 bar areas! Reason for my visit was solely for crawfish and I was not disappointed. Came 2x in one weekend Got them as spicy as they come and they were perfect for me when paired with an icy Dos Equis. Currently, price per pound is $16.99, but server said the prices decrease as we get deeper into crawfish season. She shared lowest price she has seen is $12.99. +fried pickles are also bomb. Super crispy and not too salty. Must try Con: I do not recommend getting their sausage, super overcooked. But maybe you'll be luckier with that than we were.
google avatar

Nina J.

Yelp
The food was great. Really tasty and not greasy. The service was fast and polite. Great place to watch a game or listen to live music.
google avatar

Haley T.

Yelp
Great service, great food! Their tartar sauce and ranch are also really good; you can tell they're homemade. The place itself is very cute and I noticed there is often live music. Fries could use seasoning, but the seafood was absolutely amazing! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Rick R.

Yelp
I ordered grilled salmon for dinner. I returned it because it was undercooked. The server brought it back to the table. The pictures are after it was returned to me. The manager removed the salmon from the bill but it's more around cost lack of acknowledgment to a customers concerns
google avatar

Myrna T.

Yelp
Well this place is a little run down but I really enjoy the food and prices! Service is fast and efficient.

Jimmy Z.

Yelp
Awesome crawfish no plastic boil bags (always a downer, makes them look prefrozen)..... Just great spicy flavor.
google avatar

Russell B.

Yelp
Food is good. Service is hit and miss. Love their seafood gumbo. Live music nearly every night. We've never had a wait to be seated even though it is usually busy and the crowd here is fun.
google avatar

Wendy K.

Yelp
The music was wonderful. I went with a group of friends. The oysters I had were wonderful and I enjoyed them. They were incredibly busy but the porch was very huge. I wish they had white Zinfandel or moscato , because that is my favorite wine. I enjoyed dancing to the music.

Masen G.

Yelp
Let me start out by saying, I am from Louisiana, so I have an idea of what seafood and especially catfish should taste like. This was horrible, undercooked, fishiest catfish I have ever had. The calamari oh lord it was obviously frozen as it was so damn chewy. I even mentioned the taste to the server and she said "oh yea the catfish is hit or miss" sad... Will never return. Hush puppies were wonderful though ‍ Decorations also good but come on dont freeze your food. I just emailed as asked, we will see what happens. Updated 10/10

Cierra S.

Yelp
A few things to to consider: Food, Service & Ambience are very HIT or MISS. They are a very turn & burn environment during crawfish season. It is a place that you need to go in knowing you need to patient to get greeted once you sit down. If you're not a patient person when dining out, if you're picky and you need everything to go perfect, don't come here. If you are easy going or industry then you'll be fine. There have been times I have waited over 15 minutes to get greeted by a server. They're turning tables quickly when they're busy so I do believe the servers don't have time to recoup. 6-7 table sections are never easy. It's a very regular environment so if you're in the bar area just beware you might need to fight for attention. Their food is expensive, IMO their menu is a tad overpriced. Cups of anything shouldn't be $10. Most sides are $3-5. They do charge a little high for their entrees. Their crawfish is hit and miss it's either good or bad. It sits so sometimes it's mushy or hard. Their spice levels are not consistent. Also they charge for every extra on their crawfish and kind of a lot BUT to be fair everyone has started to. They do give you 1 potato and 1 corn per lb. Their sausage has never been good it's always tough. So I don't recommend adding that. But if you're looking for crawfish I do recommend here, it's the most consistent I've had in the area. This year they're $16.99 lb, I did notice when I added an egg and what was supposed to be (3) potatoes and only got one I seemed to get less crawfish from my first lb. So I'm not sure if they're weighing before adding the extras or not. My advice is come here, I don't think you'll be disappointed but don't have super high expectations either. I won't stop coming here. But I have been a tad sad the last couple of times I've been. Also they need to list their drink prices on their menu. Also, If an up charge is more than .50 you should let your guest know. It's just the polite thing to do. I paid an extra $2 for my drinks and I would have ordered something different had I known. (And it wasn't redbull) *my picture is 1lb, I paid $2 for the egg, and $3.50 for the extra potato.

Mackenzie C.

Yelp
Very bland food. Got a few things and everything lacked flavor. Atmosphere is cute. Service was fine.

Joe F.

Yelp
We've been a regular customer since it re-opened as "The Boat" and have always been pleased with the service and the food. All too often these days we are seeing more and more restaurants increasing price while reducing one or both quality or quantity. The Boat has done neither. It strikes a good balance between quality, quantity, and price. Yesterday I ordered the catfish + red beans & rice combo. My wife had the fried shrimp. The catfish was just right. The red beans & rice was some of the best and most authentic, I've had in a long time. My wife's fried shrimp were large & fresh. Everything was much better than the Papa place not far away that costs 2x or 3x more. Just waiting now for crawfish season :)
google avatar

Clay T.

Yelp
I really liked my salmon dish from here, but it tasted exactly like the salmon dish from central market which I really liked as well. They have a huge selection of beer here quite a few of them caught my eye and I might come back here to check them out. Pricing was kind of high here so if I'm being honest I might not come back here due to the cost, but I mean it is a seafood restaurant so I can't give them too much slack for that. I just felt like I could order the salmon dish from central market for cheaper than ordering it from here.
google avatar

Lochie D.

Yelp
I rarely give 5 stars but this place was 4.75... why? Because we had a party 14 and had a great time with amazing food. The food was amazing. We had about everything on the appetizer menu & the oyster Rockefeller was on point. The tuna & Pontchartrain red fish was prepared really really well. The kids had the spegetti and they all but licked the bowl
google avatar

Mark V.

Yelp
It is a sports bar with fantastic seafood. I had the Ahi tuna which was fantastic. the gumbo is also very good. its super casual. Don't let the casualness and sports bar loo fool you. the food is always great. Enjoy! .

Yelp
Honestly, I'm so mad right now because I had such a long day and I just wanted to come by and maybe eat a fish taco or two. I got there before 10 PM. It says they close at midnight. wonderful. my boyfriend. Well, I think he's my boyfriend. What are we? Anyways, we come in and the host says that the server is not serving anymore but we can sit at the bar and order food as per normal so I set my ass at the bar and I was looking at the menu and me being indecisive I was like I don't know what I want but then I will. I had my eyes on the fried pickles and the fish tacos and I got my belly hyped for fish, tacos and fried pickles and then come to find out that the kitchen is actually not open and we were bamboozled and so we sat there for a good I don't know 10 minutes before we found out the kitchen was closed and I just don't like being gaslit by the attendant at the front that's just not nice like if your kitchen closed just say that so then we don't says the bar and think that we can order food only to be diverted. Anyways, I don't wanna ruin the review average, so I'll give three stars because I'm feeling generous.

Yelp
When I tell you the fried oysters were finger licking good. The crawfish were good a little salty. I shouldn't ask for spicy it was more salty Waitress was alright.

Yelp
First off let me state iv been coming here for over 7 years ! My mother is actually a regular... here ... so it's sad to say this was the WORST EXPERIENCE IV EVER HAD AT A " mom & Pop" Place ... Me and my husband came in on Sunday to watch football and have a few beers and eat some food ! Ordered, everything's going great server is awesome ! ( Heaven ) we decided to order my food first I wanted a Catfish plate ! Which is fried catfish some hush puppies and french fries everything was amazing. My husband decided he wanted to order now so we decided on. The caliente burger ... The burger comes out ! Let me state I love all food lol and definitely burgers so I know a good one on my first bite ... anyone does ... The burger was burnt on the top and bottom ... not " charred " like the General manager ( Heather) said it was and was overly spicy for my husbands taste .... We both tried it because sometimes I believe he overreacts ... but no the burger was not good at all ! LONG story short I asked for another burger offered to pay for the new burger the first one was not to my liking and she proceeded to tell us WE DONT DO THAT HERE!!! She was rude she was yelling I was so embarrassed for the company to have someone like that represent such a great establishment. And then she took the burger that was bunt, and said IF YOU DONT TAKE THIS ONE WE WILL NOT MAKE YOU A NEW ONE . She argued over and over and my husband repeatedly told her this nothing to argue about could He please the order she refused took the burger we didn't like and said we will not receive another burger. I was fed up with the way she had treated us I ask sweet heaven for our check and we left. Needless to say I'm more sorry for the company than I am for her or myself!

Yelp
We've been coming to The Boat since last summer. It was one of the few early places open as COVID waned here in Austin. Our family has enjoyed the variety of seafood they offer and we have tried just about everything. The servers have been some of the friendliest we've encountered in the area. Prices at this restaurant have been reasonable, too. We'd recommend this place as lively and enjoyable.

Yelp
I found this place by accident. My GPS on my phone has been misguiding. I was hungry and I passed this place right off MOPAC. Saw it was a seafood restaurant and thought....give it a try. I started with the Shrimp Brochette. Was very good. But I am a sucker for a good crab cake! I tried the Crab Pops (8). Surprisingly, this is not a coastal location, the crab pops were amongst the best crab cakes I have ever had. See the pics. I had to share them with others sitting around me at the bar so not to eat so much I am sick or in pain later. fyi....I was dining alone. The service was what you would expect in the south, very friendly, but they went beyond expected to make me feel welcome, comfortable and met all my needs. This place has a laid back atmosphere, big TVs around to watch your games, a deck for nice evenings and is child friendly. I will definitely return again the next time I am in the Austin area.

Yelp
If this restaurant did not have auto tip we would have left nothing. Our server was so rude. The food was not cooked the way I asked, and when we talked to our waitress about it she dismissed my question.
