"The Boiler Room, an East Village dive bar known for its gay clientele, is moving after 34 years. According to the website EV Grieve, the bar has been in a prolonged court battle with its landlord over unpaid rent from the pandemic and will soon relocate. The bar will operate from its longtime home at 86 E. Fourth Street, near Second Avenue, until at least September, when its lease expires. It will reopen, likely next year, at 45 Second Avenue, between Second and Third streets." - Luke Fortney
"A long-running and homey dive, Boiler Room is where laid-back East Village residents go to simply hang out and guzzle gently priced well drinks. The ambiance is basically nonexistent, but the pool table, photo booth, and digital jukebox provide all-night entertainment." - Eater Staff
"Boilermaker turns into Sippin' Santa, a beachy wonderland of Santas-in-sunglasses and palm tree decor during the holiday season. Featured drinks include the Azul Navidad, a blue piña colada concoction, and The Regifter, served in a mermaid Santa mug." - Travel + Leisure Editors
