Texas Seafood Restaurant Boiling Crab Is Opening in Austin | Eater Austin

"A Texas-based seafood chain has opened its first Austin outpost in the Linc at 6406 North I‑35, Suite 2375 (opened Feb. 19). The menu leans Louisiana-Cajun: diners pick seafood like Dungeness crab, blue crab, lobster, and clams to be steamed or boiled, then dress them with sauces and spice levels (including lemon-pepper). There are also fried baskets (catfish, oysters), chicken tenders, fries, wings, gumbo, and a beverage lineup of sodas, teas, beers, margaritas, and micheladas. Guests are encouraged to wear a bib because the experience is messy. Founded in 2004 by Sinh Nguyen and Dada Ngo in Seadrift, the group has since expanded across the U.S. and internationally, with other Texas locations in Dallas and Plano. Austin hours are Monday–Friday 3–10 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday noon–10 p.m." - Nadia Chaudhury

This restaurant is a great option for enjoying seafood with family or friends. It has a wide variety of menu choices and plenty of tables. The service was what I expected, and I really liked the food, especially the catfish. It comes with French fries, and you can choose between Cajun or lemon pepper seasoning. I went with the lemon pepper, and it was delicious—freshly prepared, hot, crispy, and not greasy at all. The only downside is that parking is on the street, so finding an available spot can be a bit tricky. It has just one unisex bathroom, which is spacious and hygienic. The prices seem fair to me for the portion size and food quality.

When we first walked in we were greeted with a list of all the things they don't have available. Paper was put on our table. I didn't realize we were not going to have plates to eat off of. I've been to boil places before and when I get a boil everything comes with it. Not here. Everything is a la carte. I debated leaving at this point. .... But my bf made an effort to take me for my birthday. By the time I ordered everything that was close to what I wanted my food alone was over $75 . The food did not all come out at the same time. The shrimp were mushy. And also cost more if you want the heads off. The crab legs were so small, the shell cracker couldn't crack them. The plastic deveiner bent right in half the minute I tried to use it. The crabber fries were probably the only thing that was good. My bf got the fried catfish. Dry very very dry. The music was very loud and the same playlist went thru four times... . No toilet paper in the restroom. Way too casual to be this overpriced. Wasn't thrilled with the vibe. Will not return.

My boyfriend picked up lunch for us at this location. He got the snow crab leg boil with corn, potatoes and sausage, I got the Sha Bang Bang Shrimp(comes with rice) & an order of their Cajun fries. Both orders were PHENOMENAL, and according to my boyfriend the staff was very helpful and friendly. We definitely will be coming back here. My food is pictured, shrimps were giant and extremely flavorful. The rice was high quality and you could tell they rinsed it and seasoned it with care. The fries were SO tasty and crispy. Cannot say enough about how good this food was.

Dining at The Boiling Crab was a great experience from start to finish. Our server Jaymia was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the entire menu. Making my wife feel at ease and providing creative suggestions. When she ordered her boil, Jaymia told us the story of how the boil was made. It added a layer of appreciation to an already delicious boil. We can't recommend this place enough. We’ll be back!!!

This was such a good experience. The food was great and filling. The manager on duty introduced himself to our table out of courtesy and our waitress Cara was amazing! We devoured all of our food and will be back soon.

Went Sunday to hopefully enjoy some snow crab legs and the NFL game. It was empty to my surprise. I was the first person in there at 1pm. The food was cooked very good, but the service was exceptional. From the manager to my server. All I ask that I get a little more crabs legs for that price. 😬 Ended up paying $60 bucks for a LB of snow crab legs, a scallop basket, 2 corn ear buds, and a Modelo, and a half and half drink.

We made a decision to come here last minute since our original place didn’t work out. SO happy we did! The service was great and the food was tasty. Praying they start getting the traffic they deserve at this location.
