The 32 Best Coffee Shops For Getting Work Done In Los Angeles

"Working from the beach is a recipe for disaster: loud waves, bad sunburns, and the real possibility of sand in your keyboard. But Boy & The Bear's Redondo Beach location is a safer bet, where you can sip Colombian coffee a couple of blocks from the Redondo Pier. The space looks like a modern surf lodge with geometric rugs, exposed beams, and brown leather couches to sink into. Have a coffee with your morning meetings and maybe escape to the beach once your boss goes offline.  " - nikko duren, brant cox, sylvio martins

The Boy & The Bear - Review - Culver City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The Boy & The Bear owner Andres Piñeros began his journey into the coffee world back in 2012 in his native Colombia, starting first as a pop-up before opening a brick-and-mortar here in LA. Now with three locations, The Boy & The Bear is where you can find 100% Colombian coffees with some modernist Scandinavian design touches. The shop’s beans are directly sourced from the farmers, with their Light & Dark espresso packing some beautiful dark chocolate and berry notes after undergoing two different roasting techniques. Enjoy it as a smooth Gibraltar, aka the perfect ratio between milk and espresso. Or if you’ve shown up with a sweet tooth, try the café con panna - a double shot with a dollop of whipped cream on top." - Sylvio Martins

Google
Great modern coffee place, high quality indeed. The espresso here served in the best way I found so far in LA, a single shot, small chocolate cube, and small glass of sparkling water. The mix of the three is just perfect, like a local coffee shop in a small village in Italy or Spain. I’ve found the design a bit heavy, a little bit too gray and brutalist and some plastic trees, but seems like a promising great place which hopefully could have a bit more of color for inspiration. But definitely worth the time and space for a great coffee time!!

Google
Consistently great coffee and a solid place to work or relax The Boy & The Bear on Washington is one of the most reliable coffee shops in the area. The coffee is consistently excellent—smooth, balanced, and well-roasted without being overly bitter or acidic. They take their sourcing seriously, focusing on Colombian beans, and it shows in the flavor. Their espresso drinks are precise, and the drip and pour-over options are also strong if you’re looking for something less milky. The shop itself is clean and minimalist, with a cool, modern vibe. Plenty of seating both inside and out. It’s a good environment to get work done—usually not too loud, and the Wi-Fi is dependable. Outlets can be limited during peak hours, but it’s manageable if you plan ahead. The staff is professional and efficient. They know their stuff, but they’re not overbearing about it. Service is usually quick, even when it’s busy. Pastries and small bites are fresh and good quality, though the food options are limited (as expected for a shop focused on coffee). They also participate in food waste reduction apps like Too Good To Go, which is a nice touch if you’re looking for a deal or care about sustainability. Overall, this is a great neighborhood coffee spot—consistent, comfortable, and focused on doing a few things really well. Easy to recommend.

Google
My wife and I came here to work a little bit from this café. It has a lot of space and plenty of sockets to charge your laptop etc. The staff was so friendly and made such a pretty flat white, I mean look at the photo. Additionally I got a danish cream pastry that also was heated up for me and tasted yummy. Could have spent more time there, very inviting. Will come back :)

Google
Great atmosphere and nice place to enjoy your coffee or get things done! The staff were friendly. I had Alvaro Colombian single origins coffee and it was very excellent. I would take it again. I would recommend visiting this place. Great job guys and keep up the good work!

Google
I stop by this coffee shop regularly, and it’s consistently a favorite. I order the matcha latte, which is unsweetened, perfectly balanced, light and airy with a rich, full-bodied flavor. It’s made just right every time. The staff are consistently kind and attentive. On occasion, I’ll treat myself to one of their pastries, which are always fresh and delicious. This is a dependable spot with great attention to quality.

Google
Love the interior design of this place. The window seats are nice, too, with outlet and good lighting. I tried their seasonal pumpkin latte, thought it was pretty rich but probably would like to try their original latte next time. Overall, a good experience and would love to visit again!

Google
This place is alright. I ordered an espresso con panna, the espresso was mid, and then they sprayed a dollop of ready whip on top. Not exactly what you would get in Italy but it’s alright. I also got the almond croissant as recommended by the guy helping me who was friendly. That too was only average, looked better than it was, maybe I just need to order different things. There is lots of seating and it wasn’t busy. Parking can be found along the street. They have both sweet and savory pastry options.

Google
I came for coffee and impulsively tried their iced green tea latte, which was delicious.

Yelp
Making my coffee run on Sunday afternoon and deciding to stop by Boy and The Bear intrigued by how crowded the place has always been every time I passed by regardless the time in the day. Despite being busy with guests, I loved how the cafe stayed pretty quiet with most guests indeed just spent their time on their laptops or books amidst the contemporary vibes. Have been there multiple times before and trying their Stockholm Fog, Salted Caramel Latte, and Vanilla Latte and love them all! Balance between coffee, milk, and the flavored syrup were just right. Highly recommend to stop by for work, chill, or even just grabbing a cup to go.

Yelp
Firstly, I want to mention how I LOVE how dog friendly this location is. Dogs on couches, dogs on chairs, dogs inside, dogs outside, love it!! I ordered a hot pumpkin latte and a chocolate crossiant. The crossiant was yummy but the pumpkin latte was had a peculiar tangy taste to it. I've been trying pumpkin latte all season long and have never encountered this. I didnt particularly enjoy my interaction with the person at the register helping us She wasn't very friendly or helpful when I asked her questions about their offerings. My overall experience was ok, but seeing how dog friendly they are definitely lifted my spirits

Yelp
Food/Drinks: The coffee here is absolutely superb, there's no question about it. Any drink I've gotten here has been simply perfect every time. Even the matcha (!!!), which is actually so hard to come by. The price point of coffee these days--especially if you want plant-based milk--hurts my bank account, but the heals my soul. Why alternative milk is extra, I'll never understand-- but it's +$1 here. So far my partner and I have tried: -Cafe au lait -Cappuccino with 2% milk -Latte with both 2% and almond milk -Cortado with almond milk -Matcha latte with 2% milk I really do want to highlight the matcha latte. I was fully prepared to be slightly disappointed as I usually am, paying $6-7 for them only for them to fall short, but it was prepared so well. No clumping, grittiness, bitterness. It was ever so slightly grassy and sweet, and it did not get overpowered by the milk-- which is what usually ends up happening at a lot of cafes. Made my day!! As far as the pastries go, I have tried the pistachio croissant, almond croissant, and banana nut bread. I would personally not recommend any of them. They're not bad, but they're really not great either. The filling for the croissants were skimpy, the texture was somewhat off for the banana nut bread, and overall just kind of dry. They look better than they taste. Service: The first time we went, there was only one employee doing his best to man both the cash register and the drinks, so it took quite some time. Every time after that, there's been at least two people, so not sure what happened that day. Service is always friendly. Ambiance: The interior is beautiful. We've been to the Westchester location as well, but personally prefer this location because the seating arrangements are more conducive to working if you want a desk. Something I REALLY love about this cafe that is actually one of our biggest challenges when trying to find a place to work is the music level. Both the genre and sound level are super low key and chill, with the exception of a song or two from time to time. I hope the playlist never changes here. Good wifi, amazing coffee, plenty of seats, quiet--what more could you ask for? They also sell apparel, tumblers, beans, etc.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop. This space is open, airy and chill. Grab a cup of coffee and a pastry and look out the window to people & traffic watch, or work away on your laptop. There's coffee and cute merch to buy if that's your thing too. My flat white and croissant were de-lish. I will be back
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
Love this place! Mocha is my favorite. Croissants are always fresh. If you order on the app the time it says is accurate they don't make it early. One nice big couch and another area with chairs to sit. Staff is always very quick when going here.
google avatar

Yas E.

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood and was looking up coffee shops when I stumbled upon this place. I usually order an iced cappuccino with almond milk. This place doesn't usually do foam for their iced drinks but the guy who was making it was kind enough to do a flat white with foam (essentially an iced cappuccino). It was very good. Service was great. Very cute ambiance. Would go back if I was ever in the area.

Yelp
I have had boy and the bear bookmarked for a very long time. I love the decor. The packaging . The shirts and labels. All really nice . My drink . Iced vanilla latte with whole milk. It was horrible. It was a little think for some reason. Like they added another cream or milk in it . Half and half maybe? Something in This drink that I can not pin point made it horrible . So bad that I went to another coffee shop right after and got a new one

Yelp
This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to work equipped with high speed wifi, outlets, and high quality coffee. Pictured is my friend's cappuccino and I also tried their ice vanilla latte with an extra espresso shot which was refreshing. The ambience of the place is really great and it's a little dim inside, though you can sit at the window bar if you're craving some light. The pictures on yelp make it seem a lot smaller but there's plenty of room to work at tables and also places to just hang out with coffee (couches, small chairs, etc). My only complaint is that the price is steep and the cups are small. But it's LA so I guess I can't complain too much, if you're not too concerned with price this is the place to go! :)

Yelp
Located right at the pinch point between washington pl and washinton blvd Can be a little hard to find unless you know what youre looking for Located at the bottom of what i believe are to be residential buildings b&tb is very low key Walking in i was surprised to find it as busy as it was Filled with customers on their laptops working A monochromatic color scheme that's embellished with plants Bonus points theyrr pet friendly I ordered their specialty drink, stockholm fog which is chai x mocha with almond milk The smallest size cost 7.75$ - seems a bit much for coffee imo It's a very large interior - not a lot of available parking There are meters on washington pl/blvd you can park at For a chai mocha the stockholm isnt really spicy coffee was okay not good enough to have me come back and spend 8$ for a small cup /shrug

Hanna K.

Yelp
The drinks I've gotten here were all good, but the two pastries I've tried were misses - the banana bread was a little too dense/bready, and the cookie was just okay. I was also a little put off by the flies buzzing around inside the pastry case :( Chill ambiance and service.

Yelp
Very nice employees. The lady who helped me understood my sensitivity to caffeine and gave me options how to still be able to order the holiday drink, Pumpkin latte. I was excited to try it. Unfortunately it didn't have much pumpkin flavor, not sure if it's because I ordered it decaf. But I realized by the time I got to the bottom of the drink where it was just gritty and I had to stop, oops I guess I didn't shake it well enough before I started? By that time I thought oh this was pumpkin wasn't it, and just chuckled at myself. I do like that they offered free wifi and plenty of seating. They seemed to have a line almost to the door the whole time I was there. The area is quiet and had several types of seating available including a comfy couch. I went here while I waited for my dad who I had dropped off at his doctors appointment, so I was thankful for a nice space to wait. It was too early for me to want to eat otherwise I would've bought a pastry to try. Maybe next time! Parking was easy with meters and I found one right in front!

Yelp
Decided to drop in and get my coffee fix. Been wanting to try this coffee shop and glad I did because the coffee and service were spectacular. I went with their cold brew and it was outstanding. Coffee was really good and a really strong cup. You can taste notes of chocolate, honey, and berries with every sip. Will definitely be coming back and will be stopping by their Sherman Oaks location pretty soon. Service was outstanding as well! Tons of seating inside. Feel free to grab a seat at the bar or one of their tables. Perfect place to study or hold a work lunch/meeting. I heard their pastries are a hit too. Thank you West LA location and team!
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
My favorite cold brew in West LA. Cold Brew black: It's super strong, bold, full-bodied, and has a chocolate taste. The pastries are delicious, I ordered a guava and cream cheese croissant and it was so flakey and buttery. There is a lot of seating at location, with a mix of counter, bar, table, and couch seating. It's never too busy and I've always been able to find a seat. This location is a great place to work and study, and the wifi is fast even with a lot of users. The barista's are friendly too.
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee! I enjoyed the coffee so much I got one of the traveling mugs and (not pictured) a cute zippered tote! Very cool industrial decor
google avatar

Gabriella C.

Yelp
This review is specifically for the chai latte - I am in search for the best chai in LA, but this one was pretty mid. It's too sweet and not spicy/spice-y at all. The ambiance is nice and the service was fine. I had to drive about 20 min so that probably colored my opinion as well but I would pass on this place if you are specifically looking for a good chai.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
I ordered the Salted Caramel Oat Milk Latte and Pistachio Croissant, both were delicious! I'd highly recommend this place to study or grab a cup of coffee. Their coffee is extremely high in quality and so delicious :) Interior and ambiance is really cute, monochromatic, and calming.

Yelp
This specialty coffee shop has been on my radar since a coffee connoisseur I respect tremendously had recommended I make a trip to it. Parking was relatively easy in one of the side streets, and there was not a wait, even though most of the seats were taken with laptop warriors, working away. TB&TB does a great pour over. Jake is an incredible, one man army, who was handling the cashier, barista and food duties. He was friendly and knowledgable, confirming they use V60 and ~1:16 ratio of coffee beans (ground) to water. I asked for something funky, and he recommended the Tiki Punch emerald series as his favorite with notes of Salted Carmel, Lemon Rind and Rose. Since we ordered one of their excellent savory pies, I asked for a shot of sparkling water (that's a sign it's a place that takes their coffee seriously) to cleanse my palate. Another thing that points to a serious coffee afiocionado status was the ground up coffee beans they give you with your coffee tumbler, so you can cleanse your sense of smell and truly take in the aroma of the brew. Let's just say, it was delicious, and I should've taken more time to savor it, but I chugged in all the goodness. One of the best pour over coffee experiences. If you are in Culver City/ Mar Vista/ Venice, this is a must-try for any coffee connoisseur.
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
I'm a fan of The Boy and the Bear, and I've been to the Redondo Beach and Westchester locations, all of which have been consistent and great. Culver City's branch is no exception, and I was greeted with friendly service and a solid cup of Stockholm Fog (my favorite drink). Cozy and spacious interior, and I have nothing but good things to say about this location!

Mary S.

Yelp
If you are a coffee purist, this place may be for you. If you're not a coffee purist, then you might find the coffee a little...strong. Don't come hungry here- not a lot of food choices to go with that strong coffee. My main complaint about this place is the seating, which is mostly hard and uncomfortable. Not a problem tho if you take out. This place is popular with hipsters and high school students
google avatar

Justin C.

Yelp
Cute shop. The coffee is decent, but didn't particularly wow me. The service was very slow, but there was a long line and only one barista both taking orders and making them. Good place to do work. Quiet music playing, lots of people with laptops out.
google avatar

Aarti V.

Yelp
Overall: Great spot to get work done and delicious coffee! Food: I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk and also had one of their GF cake slices warmed. The latte was genuinely soo good I didn't think I could enjoy coffee like that. The cake was also pretty good! Ambiance: Really cute decor, the plates and cups were so nice too. There were lots of tables, outlets, and good wifi. Service: Great, everyone was very nice! Gf Options: They had two GF pastries which was pretty good considering how little food options they had in general. Cost: Standard LA pricing, a little on the expensive side but for really good quality
google avatar

Darian G.

Yelp
Stockholm fog aka mocha dirty chai latte is whats up. This is the pairing I've been looking for when it comes to dirty chai latte. With mocha instead of regular coffee. The coca balances out the herbs from the tea. Definitely a must try!
google avatar

Madie D.

Yelp
Such a cute spot!! The parking was easy, the vibes were great, the Stockholm Fog was delightful, the service was friendly, the strong wifi and outlets everywhere were ideal for studying. Truly a 10/10 coffee shop and the perfect place to grind out some work. The music did not match the vibe of the place but I still enjoyed the beachy tunes while studying. I did not love the pastry I tried, but perhaps it would be better earlier in the day. I'll be back for sure!!
google avatar

Enric A.

Yelp
Hip coffee shop in Culver City with nice atmosphere. The baristas are friendly and I enjoy the music there. The coffee is best here. The chai can be a little sweet.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
I was visiting LA for a few days and was looking for a cute coffee shop with pastries and ended up at the boy and the bear. This place exceeded my expectations. It took a bit to get my order as there was only one employee but everything was delicious. The pistachio croissant was delicious and a good size. I also got an oatmilk latte which was just as good. Very cute ambiance, great space to do work or just grab coffee with a friend. They have cute merch as well including hats, shirts, and tumblers.
google avatar

Sky C.

Yelp
The pastries here are so yummy! The coffee unfortunately was not. I decided to get a plain vanilla latte since I was unfamiliar with this place and always try vanilla lattes since they are simplest drink to mess up but also the easiest to make. To me getting a vanilla latte determines how their other coffees will taste (either good or bad). And this place unfortunately did not pass the vanilla latte test. And I thought it was only my drink but my friends also did not enjoy their drink as well. So I personally would not recommend coming for quality coffee. Plus the staff at the time was very pushy in terms of ordering even though there was not a line so that was a bit of a bummer to experience. Other than that the space here is really nice and the vibe of the cafe itself overall is good, plenty of seating and quiet so getting work done won't be a problem. Would love to say I'd give this place a try again but I only enjoyed the pastries so I'll have to pass on this next time.
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to grab a coffee and get some work done! The matcha latte and the salted caramel latte are spot on and I recommend the pistachio croissant if you need an extra pick me up! There's usually plenty of street parking and enough seating inside.
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
This place has awesome pastries and a great selection of lattes, matcha, coffee!! Loved coming here to study in the morning. Service is also very friendly & there was plenty of space to situate myself. If you plan to study bring headphones - it's a real coffee spot and they will have loud machines(lol)! Parking is a hit or miss- usually there are meters available :)
google avatar

Jenny E.

Yelp
Delicious coffee! Super quiet & seems like a great spot to do work. The guava croissant is delicious and reminds me of the guava pastry from Porto's. Definitely coming back!

Jeff R.

Yelp
Good coffee, very chill atmosphere with lots of seating. Great place to hang out and work or read. Friendly staff.
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
This is my go to coffee shop when in Marina Del Rey. The shop is always clean, service is amazing and the coffee made just how I like it. The manager, Jake, made it a point to remember my name which made the multiple experiences that much more personal. I'll def be back the next time I'm in MDR.
google avatar

Kaitlyn P.

Yelp
This is a local coffee shop for me and I'll admit I'm always a little hesitant because I don't want to end up paying $7 for an iced coffee that tastes like water. I was pleasantly surprised by their stockholm fog which was delicious and perfect for a fall day! Their americano, on the other hand, was pretty watery and not great. On a Sunday morning, this place gets pretty packed and we weren't able to find seating but the interior looks beautiful and seems like a nice place to get some work done.

Colditz K.

Yelp
Had the most amazing pour over experience of the year here (and I had gone to Sey and La Cabra the week before). The beans really popped in comparison and fulfilled every facet of high quality pour over coffee that I liked. While both bean choices were Colombian, I was surprised they recommended the non-Huila varietal since that seeems to be trendier these days but the flavor was really delivered on the recommendation.

Alison

Yelp
We usually go to The Boy & The Bear location in westchester and love the coffee there. So when we saw this location nearby, we decided to stop after lunch. We ordered an iced vanilla latte and an iced caramel latte and they were terrible. It tasted like the syrups were either powder or sugar free? But they had a very artificial taste and weird mouth feel? Another recent review also mentioned that, so not sure what's up with that especially since the other location has great drinks? Maybe just stick to black coffee/espresso here...hopefully it was just an off day.

Sam S.

Yelp
This place is located really nicely on the corner of a busy intersection. The shop is super industrial and cozy and the baristas are kind and greeted us when we walked in. We ordered coffee and it came out quickly. The vanilla latte was super solid and was a great balance between milk and coffee (some places are so milky and it ruins the flavor of the coffee). The vanilla flavor was perfect and I love the ice cubes they use (I am super biased to square ice cubes). I highly recommend this place!

Luis L.

Yelp
Coffee was great, service was sweet and kind, guava croissant was mid. What I really love about this place is the ambience and interior design. Very loungey and would love to come do work here more often
google avatar

Maritza M.

Yelp
Best matcha and vanilla latte I've tried in Los Angeles! Also - their pistachio croissants are to dieeee for
google avatar

Taryn S.

Yelp
The boy and the bear is the perfect coffee shop for a chill Sunday! They have nice big couches and lots of seating. If you need an outlet this might not be the place for you, but it has a very chill work vibe. The coffee is good, but to be honest it's a bit on the pricier side. Everyone was nice that worked there, but nothing to stand out. I will warn there really aren't that many food options, but they tend to have some pastries. These do run out as the day goes on, so if you want food I would not recommend coming here in the middle of the day! Overall, super cute coffee shop!
google avatar

Yelp
Single origin Colombian coffee, roasted in Redondo Beach. The Boy & The Bear actually began in Columbia. The founder moved to the USA in 2013, determined to establish the brand, and maintain close relationships with their coffee farmers. The shop offers a varied menu of exotic and rare specialty coffees, and a bakery case stocked by wonderful local wholesaler, Bakers Kneaded. This Culver City location is the second of their three LA shops. The interior is beautiful, filled with green plants, leather sofas, and natural light. The man working was genuinely friendly. I was intrigued by "The Orchid", a vegan mocha. For me, it was good, but not great. I liked that it was not overly sweet, but wished there was a stronger chocolate flavor. My husband got regular drip coffee, which was fantastic. The Blueberry Danish was also delicious. Honestly, you can not go wrong with anything from Baker's Kneaded.
google avatar

Jennie K.

Yelp
Cute place but iced latte just tasted like pure milk. Ratio needs to be reconsidered. Arrive early to avoid long lines or order in advance.
google avatar

Kristen C.

Yelp
Great place to get coffee and study! The inside gives dark earthy vibes. All their coffee is sourced from Columbia, and they have some special flavors. I decided to try their Stockholm fog which was a blend of mocha and chai. It was super smooth and delicious - would highly recommend. They have outlets, wifi, bathroom, and street parking - a great study spot!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Stopped by on our way to LAX and was very impressed by every aspect of this coffee shop! The baristas were super knowledgeable on each type of coffee and gave recommendations based on my preferred flavor profile. The pour over came in a beautiful presentation along with some apricot filled donuts that were absolutely incredible. Next time, I'll be sure to bring a laptop as this is a great, quiet place to get work done as well!
google avatar

Jack L.

Yelp
I have heard about the quality of the coffee of this place for quite some time, and when one of my friends received a job there as a barista, I knew that I had to give this place a try! The barista Dante, who is awesome, recommended their cold brew as the best drink in the store, and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! I have always been a cold brew enthusiast, but it is very hard for me to drink a 12oz cold brew without any milk or creamer just because they are packed with so much steeped flavor and caffeine. However, when it came to The Boy & The Bear cold brew, I drank it all the way through due to it not being so overpowering, and smooth all the way through, even as the ice melted! This cold brew is not the type of brew to knock at the door before it comes in. Nevertheless, it is not one that walks in and dominates the conversation when it comes into the room. Thus, it has that distinct balance that you need to try if you are in the Culver area! Shout out to barista Dante and manager Jake, they are the real deal!

Yelp
Not Starbucks so don't come expecting a whole list of frou frou drinks. But if you want a great cup of coffee haven't tried the tea then this the place. I got The Orchid with oat milk it was the rich taste of dark chocolate that was not overpowering and allowed the coffee to shine through Clara was my barista she was very sweet and soft spoken but the presentation of every cup that came out from her hands was bold and outspoken. The cashier was Sophie she was very knowledgeable and patient. The inside is clean and full with sunshine in every corner. They didn't have much merch which means it probably selling. I'll be back.

Yelp
Chill vibes. Chill baristas. Tbf they could spit on me and I'd still buy the coffee. It's so good. I'm p*ssed I found this on vacation and now have to go home to my regular coffee place. I will be chasing this high forever.

Yelp
2 years ago, I had introduced myself to Boy & the Bear and the Stockholm Fog was etched into my mind as one of the most delicious coffee drinks I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. It's smooth and velvety, rich with chocolate, accentuated with chai spices. Ugh. Just so good. Since then, I've gone to a few other places that also feature a chai mocha and to be honest, none of them have met the quality that Boy & the Bear delivered. So on my trip back to LA, this was a must stop and boy did it deliver! I opted to have it in the shop which allowed me to slowly savor it while reading a book. Perfection. Can I just get a growler of it to go? Thanks.

Yelp
Chill coffee spot on the west side, with comfortable seating options. Wanted to try this place out for coffee, and to catch up with some friends. We went early on a weekend, got some lattes and croissant options, and sat at a comfy couch area inside the store. It was a super fun yet intimate environment inside. The staff was super friendly. The food and coffee were really great for a smaller coffee shop. And it was family friendly, we brought our four-month-old in a stroller inside and didn't get any sideways looks. They have some really interesting looking croissant breakfast options, that are both savory and sweet. We ended up getting a maple sweet version, and a warm cheesy stuffed savory option and both are great. I lean savory for breakfast, and it did not disappoint! I will definitely return to try other coffee and breakfast styles!

Yelp
I'm quite fond of The Boy & The Bear. Having been to their location on La Tijera a number of times on the way home from LAX, I recently came to the Washington location for the first time, meeting a friend here for on a recent Sunday morning. What The Boy & The Bear does best is consistency. All of their locations have a similar feel. Though they're unique in their color and layout, if you like one, you'll like them all. The coffee is good and the service prompt. At this location I especially liked how unexpectedly easy the parking was. Parking is all on the street but I had no trouble finding a spot, which flies in the face of all of my preconceptions about the west side and came as a welcome surprise. This location of The Boy & The Bear in particular is great for meeting up. One could always grab-and-go, but the abundant seating and chill, unpretentious vibe beckon visitors to stay, if only for a bit. There was a steady flow of people and the shop felt active and alive, but never packed and with a volume that lent easily to casual conversation. When I'm in a part of town I don't frequent, The Boy & The Bear is my go-to for reliably good coffee. Give them a try and I think you'll feel the same.

Yelp
I love the vibe of this coffee shop. It's very calm and homey. I feel that I can get a lot of work done here so it's a perfect place to study. They have a lot of outlets! Their coffee is perfect. The service is great. I will definitely be back!
