What To Eat At Alamo Drafthouse, Ranked - Austin - The Infatuation

"There are a few burgers and sandwiches at Alamo that’ll get the job done just fine, but the all-day breakfast club has the holy trinity of a fried egg, swiss cheese, and bacon on a toasted bun (plus tomato and a few other toppings, but let’s stick to the important stuff)." - matthew jacobs

The 15 Best Restaurants In Savannah, Georgia - Savannah - The Infatuation

"After a big night out on River Street or before a day relaxing on the beach at Tybee Island, come to The Breakfast Club. Counter seats and tables along the tight row of booths can be hard to come by on weekends, but that’s because the diner really excels in breakfast, including crispy hashbrowns, stuffed-to-the-brim omelets, pecan-filled waffles, and creamy grits. The burgers are another highlight, cooked to perfection on the griddle and topped with bacon and cheese, but you’ll have to get one for an early lunch—the restaurant closes by 12:30pm. Unless you’re a burger-for-breakfast kind of person, in which case, you have our full support." - caroline eubanks

The Breakfast Club delivered a flavorful experience that lived up to the hype. The chicken and waffles were perfectly seasoned with a crispy, golden crunch that balanced beautifully with the fluffy waffles. The seafood grits were rich and creamy, packed with bold flavors and fresh seafood. The omelette was also a standout — fluffy, well-filled, and satisfying. Everything we tasted was undeniably good, but be prepared: it comes at a price. Even the fountain club soda — typically complimentary in many places — came with a charge. So while the food is a hit, your wallet might feel it too. Overall, a great spot for a tasty, memorable meal — just know going in, it’s not a budget-friendly brunch.

Great vibes, strong mimosas, good music, and juicy food! What more could you want? We visited back in January for my friend’s birthday and had a funky good time. The lamb chops were juicy and well seasoned. Our bartender was great. I have no complaints and would definitely go back.

Google
Food overall was 3.5 average of the 3 people I came with my food was delicious I had the chicken and French toast with a side order of the cheese grits. The chicken was breaded to perfection , the French toast was thick and light and filling. Both of my cousins got oxtail one with rice and the other with macaroni. The oxtail wit rice was amazing however my other cousin had pretty tough oxtail and she came before and it was falling off the bone finger licking good. So it must have been a different chef this day because it needed to be cooked a little longer. The mimosas were STRONG! If you come here you must get the bottomless mimosas. Our sever G provided exceptional customer service. The music matched the vibes I loved the 90’s rnb. Overall loved the restaurant and would come back.

I appreciated the generous portion sizes, and while the quality was decent, the real standout for me was the fantastic service. The atmosphere had a lively vibe, although it did get a bit loud at times. I enjoyed the espresso martini, though I found it a touch on the sweet side for my personal preference. Overall, it was a nice experience!

We’d like to congratulate the owner on the opening of this new establishment and commend them for the effort it took to make it happen. The atmosphere, including the music and overall vibe, was enjoyable. Special mention goes to our server, G, who provided excellent service. However, our main concern was with the kitchen. The wait time for our food—approximately 30 minutes—was excessive and disappointing. Considering what we ordered (French toast with chicken tenders and an omelette with grits), the lengthy delay combined with the final bill of around $100 (including an automatic 18% service charge) did not feel like a worthwhile value. While there were some positives, this wouldn’t be our first choice to revisit anytime soon.

The food was amazing , well seasoned! The waffles weren’t too dry but it only comes with one if you order the breakfast chicken and waffle special. The drinks were delicious! Our food was served with a smile and an extra helping of kindnesss. Just be prepared for the wait time, thank goodness I had someone with me to help pass that time.

This is my second time here and the food and drinks are always delicious. The first time I visited on a Saturday for a friend’s birthday. It was 5 of us and all of us enjoy every item that was ordered (pancakes, fried chicken, eggs, french toast, etc.). This time I took my mom and we enjoyed the $7 HH lemon drop with the seafood grits and the oxtail and fried rice and both were incredible.

Thick Chicks & The Men Who Love Them

Google
The best thing about this restaurant was the music, atmosphere and location. Everything else was overrated and overpriced. The service was snail slow. We had a reservation for 730. Got there at 730, ordered right away, and it took 1 hour for us to get our meal, which was grits and bread, basically. I got the seafood grits dish (HORRIBLE), and my daughter got french toast and potatoes (which they forgot to bring out with her food) so we asked them not to worry about potatoes and take it off our bill.., and for these two items, it took 1 hour... that's insane.... but they also tell you on the menu to limit your time to 90 mins. Well, if your service is going to be THAT slow, you all need to remove the time limit request or respect our time, too, and get food out in a timely manner. For 36.00, the grits were soupy... I had to search deep to find grits... I mean, grits are cheap. Why could I barely find them in this dish. It looked greasy, and the presentation was less than appealing and lackluster hell they could have tossed some arugula or green peppers on top to make it look like they actually cared about what they were serving. See photos... and again, that was $36.... The french toast... Wow! I know we are in an egg recession, but did you all even dip the bread in egg? Hence the basic ingredient for "french toast," I thought. That's a typical french toast basic... it was dry bread with some powder sugar and strawbeeries on top for $17. Sadly, these black owned restaurants want our money and support, but the food and service are below par. I could have thought of atleast 5 places my daughter and I could have gone for $86 and been VERY pleased and satisfied. IHOP would have been satificstory after receiving this. Do not believe the hype like I did. Sadly, this was very underwhelming, to say the least. If I could say one thing nice. The grits dish tasted ok, and they gave somewhat of a decent amount of shrimp, crab, and lobster. The chef on Sat, June 28, 2025, 730pm, missed the mark... maybe Sunday Brunch is when you can only get a decent meal... because Saturdays meal and service was not what people on here rave about... a side note to the chef... don't serve soupy grits, then give me a fork to try to eat it. It was definitely a soup spoon meal, and I was not impressed at all. The pictures you advertise of this dish... lied it was a "what I wanted verses what I got..." type of meal. See photos. Their picture makes the dish look moutwatering and amazing.... I came based off of that alone.... it was not worth the 45 minute drive thru traffic to experience. I'm not impressed. Maybe the regular chef was off... still no excuse. It wasn't crowded... so that wasn't the issue... I know for me and my daughter, we do not recommend this overpriced, slow service venue (but they add 18% tip to each bill) whether service is good or bad... you pay 18%... our server never came back to check on us we had to wave down staff passing by to ask questions at this establishment. It is not worth your hard earned coins. Please do better Breakfast Club and serve quality to food that actually looks and tastes good, and that will also make us want to come back and visit. Don't waste your time or money here unless you just have money to blow / give away and you want your time wasted. I wanted to love this place but simply did not. To each their own. I see a lot of great reviews but can relate to the poor reviews. Wish I had a better experience. No desire to return.

Yelp
The food is consistently good. However, they should inform guest that the gratuity is already included. I ended up tipping twice without knowing it.

Yelp
My overall dining experience at The Breakfast Club was great. I will say service could be improved in some aspects (i.e they forgot to bring my potatoes) but overall I enjoyed everything. It was also pretty busy, so I am giving them grace. I ordered the seafood and grits, which did not skimp on the seafood!! I had a piece of crab, lobster, or shrimp with every bite. I also love a lot of sauce and this was the perfect amount and had a hint of spice. The grits were also creamy. I will definitely be back for more! I also tried my dad's side of mac and cheese, which was also pretty good for restaurant mac and cheese.

Yelp
This spot is definitely worth checking out, but I would not go there if I was in a hurry. The good: It's a cool hip scene, young crowd, they have a nice bar and overall it's a nice looking place. The food is delicious, I have to give them that, I got the chicken and waffles and it was definitely very good, and the waffle was made with a very tasty and fresh batter. We also had an omelette with potatoes and it really was perfectly made. The cooks are on point for sure, and they are very generous with the food. We could not finish all of it, we were stuffed. Room for improvement: Any place that charges automatic 18% gratuity to their table is going to have servers that do not give their all because you have now taken that incentive from them, and that is the experience we got. Our server was nice, but we only saw him at the beginning to take our order and at the end to ask him for the check, he did not come to check on us at any other point. We saw the nice girl who poured water and the photographer who sells you framed pics more than we did our server. So something worth keeping in mind. Also, the food took almost an hour to get there. We were not in a hurry, and they were not very busy when we first got there, but they definitely do get packed, so I can only imagine that it may take a while to get the food turned around once it does get busy. I definitely would not come here if you are trying to squeeze it in with other plans. But, if you have time and you don't mind service not being the best the food is definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
The Breakfast Club has a great location and decent décor. I loved the menu selections and how the brunch offers traditional favorites with a Caribbean flair. The food and the drinks are a solid 4, but the customer service unfortunately was a 2 or 3 at best. The hostess was very mean and stern, making it very clear that she was about doing the bare minimum. The menus at our table were sticky and icky, making me wonder what else they failed to wipe down. No one was answering the phone when we called to say we would be a few minutes late. We were a party of 3 and the waitress managed to bring everyone's food out in a timely manner, but mysteriously kept forgetting my best friend's food and her mocktail. At first, we just thought that the waitress was busy and perhaps got distracted, but when it happened a 2nd time with her beverage, it definitely brought the dining experience down. We are trying to wait for her food to come, before we start eating. The waitress was very nonchalant and barely apologetic about this. Why, because the gratuity is added in automatically at 18%. I enjoyed the French 75 cocktail and the tender and plentiful oxtails with fried rice. I took home the bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream, which was very good and the portion was large enough for two people. Based upon our experience, we don't see ourselves coming back, it's unfortunate to have a nice establishment like The Breakfast Club that will only go as far as it treats its customers.

Yelp
There is limited breakfast spots that are open before 11am. Despite the 3.8 stars, I decided to try it out. We got there at 8:30. The inside is nice and the place was clean. The service and food are just lacking. It was pretty empty during the time we went. I didn't feel our waiter was super attentive. Our food took a long time to come out. The food is just greasy. You can't really hold the breakfast sandwich cause it's falling apart. The potatoes had 0 seasoning. So the food is definitely not worth the price. We were a total of 3 people and happened to run up $84 bill WHICH IS CRAZY. They had added an automatic 18% service charge. This place won't be seeing me again. Look elsewhere!

Yelp
Would've gave 4 stars but the service SUCKED! The wait was weird. The server never checked on us. The menu is pricey but delish

Yelp
My friend and I came here for a "ditch work day" and it was really good!! However the service was sooooo slow! Out waiter was very kind and nice but I think she was a bartender as well and just seemed busy. My friends food came out at a different time than mine. And then my eggs came out later than my chicken. I would come back because the food was good but prepare to be there a while. Or order to-go.

Yelp
I went for brunch and it was packed in there. Definitely make a reservation. We ordered the lamb chops with broccolini and a side of mac & cheese and the seafood and grits. Everything was delicious! So decadent and perfect for a special occasion. Drinks were good too. It wasn't too loud but don't expect to be able to have quiet conversation.

Yelp
Everyone has been telling me that The Breakfast Club is a must-visit when you're in Silver Spring, so this weekend I had a chance to go with my coworker. I found parking right in front of the restaurant, which is metered but I didn't end up paying. When I arrived I told the hostesses I was waiting for someone to arrive. I was seated but was told our 90-minute dining time would start. I mentioned they were close by and as I was going to go back to wait by the door, the gentleman said it was ok and seated me without worrying about time. The ambiance was modern with a sense of flair, and the Billie Holiday painting was breathtaking. I already knew going in I was ordering the oxtail and grits, and I never even thought or heard of that combination before. I ordered the Tales of the Caribbean to drink and the Fenton Street wings to start. My coworker also ordered a drink and appetizer, along with her entree. Where the confusion occurred is when a different waiter brought out my entree first, and then someone else brought out their drink. We both looked at each other in disbelief. After some time, I was able to waive our waiter down and let him know what happened. He rushed to the back and brought out my drink (which he said had been sitting there) and then the rest of our orders came out. Tales of the Caribbean is a drink bursting with flavor, as the aged rum, coconut rum, orange bitters, mango, pineapple, allspice, cinnamon, and ginger create a sophisticated cocktail experience. The wings were disproportionately sized, as the first 4 were your normal-sized buffalo wings, but the last 2 were gigantic drums. The flavor from the sauce was out of this world, and the wings were cooked and crispy beautifully. The oxtail and grits lived up to the hype. The oxtail gravy mixed in with the grits introduced me to a flavor I never knew I needed in my life. The oxtail was bone-in, but the meat was tender and flavorful. Of course, some were more meatier than others, but I found the portion to be generous. Overall I enjoyed my visit and will certainly be back to try other items.

Yelp
The restaurant was really really busy, but they found a table for me and My Mother outside on the patio. It was especially sweet for me because my mother is over 80 years old and not vaccinated and this was the first restaurant we went to since the pandemic where she could dine outside and feel comfortable. The waitress was amazing and recommended really great options and the food was delicious and hot. I really enjoyed the mocktail options and it really made my mom's day and she felt fancy. The decor is gorgeous inside as well!

Yelp
Sanitation department please go and visit this place. The unisex bathroom was dirty, no soap which makes me wonder how the cooks are washing their hands while making my food. The tap water was extremely hot so with no soap or water in the bathroom how is the staff washing their hands. Food was overcooked, server got our order wrong. At the end they automatically charge a tip although bad service but they don't tell you so you tip them even more. Never ever again coming to this place and I hope it will close down due unsanitary conditions.

Yelp
I doubled back to the Breakfast Club and boy did they perform. I made reservations for a birthday brunch for my wife on a Monday and it was surprisingly empty. We arrived and were quickly seated. We ordered several dishes. Oxtail Fried Rice, Chicken and French Toast, Seafood Grits. Those seafood grits are GREAT!!!!! Delicious!!! The French Toast is LARGE and delicious as well. The chicken are definitely large pieces. There is good crunch but something is missing for me with the chicken. My wife enjoyed the oxtail as they give you a good portion. She enjoyed it and would order again. Overall the breakfast club did not disappoint. If I ever want a good brunch this will be my go to choice. Thank You again.

Yelp
They definitely have a unique menu. The wings were VERY good, flavorful crispy and delicious flavor. The oxtail fried rice was a large portion, they also gave me a lot of oxtail. However, one of my friends had gotten the seafood fried rice which I tried, it was kind of dry. But another friend had the seafood grits, which I tried and was my favorite item from this afternoon. The service was left to be desired. And the restaurant was super cold inside.

Yelp
I've been here several times, and let me tell you--the seafood grits always hit! It has me in a chokehold, and I just can't bring myself to order anything else (but seriously, no regrets). This time, I came for my sister-in-law's birthday, which gave me the perfect excuse to try something other than my usual (though, let's be real--I still ordered the seafood grits for myself lol). Let's get into it: *Shrimp Deviled Eggs - Really good! But they only give you half a shrimp on top instead of a whole one (a little skimpy, but still tasty). *Wings - 10/10, would order again! *Mac & Cheese - At first glance, it looked like the blue-box Kraft version, but surprisingly, it was really good. *Oxtail Grits - Just okay--not my favorite, but not bad. *French Toast - Delicious and full of flavor (as expected). *Bread Pudding - Really, really good--definitely worth ordering! Drinks: I had the Great Gatsby--delicious and definitely spirit-forward. My sister-in-law had the strawberry margarita, which was also really good. Final Thoughts: Great food, great service--especially considering we had a large party. One tip: make a reservation because the place is small, and walk-ins might not get seated. Can't wait for my next visit... and yes, I'll probably order the seafood grits again.

Yelp
Went here for my Granddaughter 18th birthday celebration (SHE PICKED) and I must say the food is amazing, I mean EVERYTHING is amazing, I have NEVER been to a restaurant before when NOBODY complained about the food!!OUTSTANDING, if you ever in the area? Stop by and enjoy some good food!!!

Yelp
Greatest Birthday Gift was finding this gem. Me and the wife ate breakfast went to the hotel took a nap and went right back for dinner with no regrets. Service was great drinks, ambience and everything in between is amazing. Food is awesome regardless of what you order, we've been back about 6 times now and we live 1 hour away. This is our hidden gem I can't shut up about, I don't want any influencer getting ahold of this one but it may be too late.

Yelp
We arrived on a Saturday morning w/o a reservation (oops!) but were able to be seated in this cozy restaurant. The food was delicious, the paintings were beautiful, and the servuce was excellent. We got: -Chicken & waffles (4/5) - chicken was seasoned and fried well. -Seafood & grits (5/5) - there were meaty chunks of seafood, it tasted amazing, and they had a great amount of sauce! There was enough for me to take some home. When we were seated, the hostess informed us of the 90-min table limit, which was fine bc the food came out quickly. I will return again!!

Yelp
On a spur of the moment MLK Day date, we decided to scratch another bookmark off our list and take a 50min ride to Downtown Silver Spring. The Breakfast Club is right on the perimeter of bustling Downtown Silver Spring, which is a plus because parking is actually reasonable. Once you walk in, you notice "The Breakfast Club" doesn't look anything like its name and is actually a very nice looking RESTAURANT, unlike your normal pancake joint...LOL. I had a few minutes to burn solo, so I figured I'd take advantage of the HH and get a quick drink. After several minutes of watching at least 5 servers/bartenders congregate behind the bar, one finally came over and informed me, sorry, our HH is Wed-Fri only. Well, that's not what your website says?? Yeah, I keep telling management the website is wrong and they haven't changed it... Hmmmm! At this point, I was kicking myself in the butt for making this trip. I passed on the drink since the GF had now joined me. We were promptly seated at our reservation time, however, it took another several minutes before our server came to greet us. Guess what, it was the same bartender who told me there was no HH.. he's doing dual duty... Hmmmmm!! We were ready to order, so let's start with the shrimp topped deviled eggs. When they arrived, I was a little blown. For a whopping $17, you get three egg halves and three fried shrimp.. are you kidding me? Can we at least get the other half a egg so that we don't have to split that poor little third half and one additional shrimp for that $17 price tag, especially since they were sooooo dang goooood.. geeezus!! The meal that redeemed "The Breakfast Club" and pulled this review up from a 2 to 4 stars, was the lamb chops. Lawd Have MERCY, they hit on all cylinders on this one. Massive amounts of chops and Mac and Cheese along with broccolini. All for $40, I could not believe it. The lamb literally ranked up there with Ruth's Chris in size and taste. I could not stop talking about it. Her breakfast burger was very good but that da*n lamb was delicious. Does "The Breakfast Club" have some things they need to tweak, YESSS, but please don't mess with the lamb, it absolutely saved you with my review!!!

Yelp
Brunch at The Breakfast Club: A Journey of Vibes, Patience & Food Coma... So my girl decided to spoil me with brunch at The Breakfast Club, and let me tell you--this place was PACKED like a Black Friday sale. Pro tip: Always make a reservation unless you enjoy standing around like an unpaid security guard. We ended up at the bar, which is where the magic happens--depending on who's mixing drinks and cracking jokes. That day, they were short-staffed, so our server was basically in a long-distance relationship with our table, checking in every 7 minutes like a concerned parent. Now, the ambience? Modern and classy. The food? Whew, the FOOD! I had the French Toast with Chicken Wings, and my girl went for the Oxtail and Cheese Grits. When I tell you everything was straight CRACK--I mean, I considered taking my leftovers on a dinner date later. Overall, 4.5 stars. The vibes, the food, and the struggle service made it an experience. Would I go back? Absolutely--just with a reservation and maybe a snack for the wait.

Yelp
My bestie and her husband are foodies too! When they went to The Breakfast Club, I was quick to get a call and her statement was, "Ermahgerd, you have to go to The Breakfast Club". My Big Spoon is always up for a new place so he made the reservation and off we went to see what all the hype was about! The Good: Street Parking and a parking lot is close so we lucked out! No issues on parking. Causal Dining - You don't have to dress up. Ambiance is chill. Food is actually REALLY good! Some hits some misses! But overall Good! The Bad: Service lacked. They needed more wait staff. A manager presence. Something. Everyone looked lost except for the girl cleaning the tables who was so sweet! Waiter was nice but he was also the bartender so we rarely saw him. We had needs that never got met, we needed more silverware, I ended up just getting up and stealing the ones on the empty table. I wanted ranch and more lettuce, but the waiter came way too late to check in on us. Advertised Hours for Happy Hour (online) are not accurate, the waiters own words, "sorry what's on the website is very wrong." Allegedly HH is only Wed-Friday. Sigh. The Ugly: Small Bar Area and overall small restaurant. Seems to be a younger demographic of patrons. Portion size of the deviled eggs is wild. 3 deviled eggs? Three? One, Two, Three? Who gets the third? Rock, paper, scissors and winner gets the third? You all couldn't afford to give guest the other half of the third egg? Very disappointing. I called my bestie today and her sentiments are equal, good food, so-so on service, a little over priced for some items, and definitely a trendy place for the young kids. Would I come back? It's a long drive from the city or from the boondocks. It's likely a one and done for me unless the Big Spoon intends to come back, I wouldn't. 3.5 stars for me..... Let's get into it! Appetizer: Deviled Eggs - Really delicious! Those shrimp are amazing! Burger: I asked for a fried/medium well done egg and got it over hard, it was good but not the best, it had literally 3 pieces of spinach. It needed something. Flavor was good. Fries were awesome! Lamb Chops: He said OMG so many times and smacked his lips so much I got a little jealous of the lamb chop. It was delicious he said! Flavor was amazing, he shared! Drinks: Great! Another Bookmark Checked Off!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this establishment. Came on a Sunday at 9:30 and it was pretty empty (just like I like it). We did have a reservation. Drink: (made by bartender) I had the bootlegger but with Tequila. I had 2 and honestly I felt it bad. Food: The club omelette with crab was delicious! I usually get a French toast or something but this may be my new go to. Very filling and I had some to go home with. Ambiance: Causal

Yelp
The breakfast club is a great restaurant always great food and ambience. During this visit, my friends and I decided to sit at the bar because it was crowded so I definitely recommend making a reservation. Our service at this visit, however wasn't the greatest because they were very busy so our food did take a little over an hour. But the food made up for the weight. Some of us got Bronzino wings and mac & cheese. I highly recommend the Bronzino. It is always delicious. I got the wings for the first time and I would also recommend the mac & cheese very flavorful the chefs do such a great job!

Yelp
First impression: 1. Sad that we had 3 out of 6 people at the restaurant but that wasn't enough to get seated. We were told 60% had to be there. This required us to stand in a very small area near the door, which opened repeatedly, of course, to let cold air in. Our 4th person came in and we were golden. 2. The restaurant is small but cute, with a bar as soon as you walk in, behind a glass wall you can see through. Service: SO friendly BUT just as we read about - it is SO slow. We put our drink orders in and waited SO long to get them. The 6th person came in and waited no less than 20 minutes to get approached for her order. This is problematic since we were told there was a 2 hour cap on the time we had for our table. Throughout our time there, we waited and waited. We waited so long that we flagged down other servers. Then the food came out to half of our group and the rest of us waited again. Mine was last. Sigh. I'm happy I ordered apps because I would've been SO hangry. Food: 1. Wings - Nice, large, crispy and flavorful. 2. Deviled eggs with shrimp - You get 3 of the largest, crispiest, flavorful shrimp. The egg was just fine against the standout shrimp. 3. Seafood Mac n Cheese - Mac was super cheesy and cooked well but all the cheese may have overpowered the seafood a bit. Definitely enough to share which I'd suggest instead, then order something else to share. 4. Cake - Warm, buttery, with whipped cream. This was so surprisingly good. My mocktail was cute and delish. All in all, I'd go back for the food and expect to wait. Better yet, I hope they improve their processes back in the kitchen or with the serve staff. I'm not sure where the problem is, but it could definitely be improved and this place would be a 5.

Yelp
I went here on my birthday and it was the best food EVER!! The service was fantastic but I was very disappointed that I made a reservation and while I arrived 6 minutes late, I was not seated inside as requested. My seats were given away and they sat me outside with my party instead. It was disappointing but I made the best of it as much as I could. From what I saw, the inside was nice. The oxtails and grits were tender and mouthwatering. The potatoes left a lot to be desired because they are not seasoned. Not even a drop of salt. Hope to come here again one day!

Yelp
Four of us met at The Breakfast Club this past summer while in town and it was truly a vibe! Once we got seated and settled in at our table, I understood why another colleague suggested our friend not bring her baby. It isn't the most family friendly, depending on when you go and we were there during the height of Sunday brunch. It can get very lively as can the crowd, especially once the adult beverages get to flowing. The table setup can be a little tight for high chairs or carriages also - not ideal. The service was good, the live music was amazing and the food was pretty tasty also! The cocktails were aesthetically pleasing and flavorful with tons of options. The menu is full of great fare to choose from. We shared some delicious wings to start. Everything from the breakfast sandwiches & french toast, to the mac n cheese, to the oxtail & grits and breakfast potatoes was yummy, served hot and in large enough portions. I'll have to remember which cocktails we had but I feel like my second one had sorrell in it - Fenton Street Evening. The first one was likely Mint Prohibition or Dreaming of Paradise. We were able to find close by parking on the street while our friends parked a block or two down the road. Our wait wasn't horribly long. We enjoyed the energy of the spot and are overall happy we went. When traveling domestically I like going to spots that I know I can't get in my own home city so this was a great choice. Check out The Breakfast Club if you like live jazz/ RnB and good brunch food. You'll also be supporting a black owned business!

Yelp
I've gone to the breakfast club twice and am blown away each time! Somebody is putting their foot in this food every time! I've gone for happy hour and early lunch. They know the secret to make a well flavored and tinder oxtail the oxtail friend rice was PERFECT! The rice has so much flavor and texture alone that the oxtails just set it off! The lamb was cooked almost to perfection, but it was flavored well! The happy hour menu was off the chain. You HAVE TO HAVE the oxtail eggrolls and the crab fritters 11/10! The drinks across the board are fantastic. As well. Servers are polite and laidback. There was no real wait time for seating or food, but you are able to make reservations. The vibe inside is very aesthetic and modern with pops of color and class. Make it a habit to visit often!

Yelp
From the beginning of my visit, I knew this place would be one of my least enjoyable dining experiences to date. The staff is very uncouth, swearing and speaking loudly at the bar. I'm all for expressions of joy as a form of creative resistance but this was a bit much. For an establishment that prides itself on having cocktails, I was aghast when my Bloody Mary arrived in a plastic cup. Furthermore, the drink was a purchased pre-mix. It was giving Costco, and in truth I would have preferred a Costco premix. I don't think I've had a worse Bloody Mary. Based on the menu and pricing, I guess I just expected something more in terms of service ware and presentation. I ended up sitting at the bar, because the host informed me that there were reservations which meant I couldn't be seated immediately. The irony is, the same tables that were empty at the start of my encounter in this place, remained so through the conclusion of my meal. The best part of my experience was the chicken and French toast. It was edible. For a $75 breakfast, I walk away knowing better. When the experience starts off poorly, just walk away.

Yelp
I've visited The Breakfast Club several times for brunch and each time it gets better and never disappoints! This particular time I had the decadent ice cream donut sprinkled with powdered sugar and a hint of strawberries, the fall off the bone well seasoned oxtails with potatoes and an egg, and a beverage. Everything was packed with flavor and super delicious. The food portions are a nice size and my stomach is always satisfied. My entree and dessert were recommended by my server and he did an excellent job with the recommendations so much so that I always order the same entree! I really like how spacious it is both at the tables and bars and the music wasn't too loud overpowering conversations. This place is on my list of recommended brunch places in Maryland!

Yelp
We (party of 2) had a reservation for 3:30 PM EST and we were seated promptly upon arrival. We didn't like the table where they seated us at first because they were squeezing us between two other parties at a booth but the host was able to accommodate us to a more comfortable spacious table for two. Our server was Eyo and he was attentive and served with a smile. We asked for his honest opinion about dishes we were considering and he helped us come to a decision. We both ordered the bottomless mimosa with cranberry juice ($35 USD per person). My friend ordered lamb chops (cooked medium), sautéed spinach (with carrots) and the MAC. I originally ordered the steak but they ran out right before I ordered. Eyo informed me of this as soon as he found out, which I appreciated as I have had an experience at other places where they waited until everyone else's food came out to tell me that the dish I ordered was no longer available. I went with the chicken and waffles and also ordered a side of eggs (scrambled soft with cheese). The food was tasty. The MAC was five cheese and deliciously cheesy (if you're someone who likes cheese). I did add black pepper to my eggs, but that's a my personal preference. I also used hot sauce on my chicken. Nothing tasted over cooked. We were not rushed from the table with a 90 minute limit which we appreciated; it allowed us time to catch up without having to go to another location. I will absolutely return, there are items on the menu I made a note about wanting to try, including the oxtail. The bathrooms could be maintained a little more frequently (ran out of toilet paper) but that's probably the only thing I felt needed improvement.

Yelp
OMG Oxtails & Grits, soooo delicious, service is good and the vibe is great. Can't go wrong with the Mimosas.

Yelp
Overall it was an experience. The food was great I literally had no complains. I ordered the lamb chops ( medium well) with the Mac and cheese. The meat was so tender and juicy and the Mac was cheesy. Even the broccoli was good. Our server was did well. He was accommodating to any alterations or requests I needed. One negative was that the but the wait time was very long. We sat down at 2:30 pm and didn't get our food for another hr. It was worth the wait to say the lease. The ambiance was cozy. Small area bit it was a good atmosphere and the music was good aswell. Not too loud. Keep in mind gratuity is already included so you don't have to tip unless you want to.

Yelp
I love Lady Day, so I always have to take a picture of this Phenomenal Woman when I come in. Just beautiful artwork. I can come here and just order cocktails and the Garlic Peeper Shrimp, with the buttery, garlicky, warm and crispy toast. Then you dip it in the garlic pepper sauce...... just simply amazing. The music is always on point and the service is awesome.

Yelp
Solid meal. Seafood grits with a great amount of seafood and seasoning. Bacon was nice and crispy. Eggs were done well. Well done The Breakfast Club! I needed more grits than what comes with the meal since there's so much sauce. I would definitely recommend. All of the staff were really nice!

Yelp
First time visiting The Breakfast Club in Silver Spring, and everything was amazing. I visited on Easter Sunday with a group of friends, so it was a little busy. The bartender also served as our waitress, so service was a little slow, but I didn't have any issues although a few of the people in my party did have to wait a bit for drinks and food. I also had a couple of friends who asked for their food to be warmed up after it came to the table. We shared the Fenton Street Wings, and they were delicious. Uncle J's signature sauce was the perfect mix of sweet, and tangy. I will definitely order the wings again. My group also shared the Shrimp Deviled Eggs which were okay. Nothing too spectacular in my book. I ordered the Seafood Grits for my main course, and it was perfectly seasoned, plentiful, and filled with seafood (crab, shrimp, and a few lobster pieces)....a seafood lovers dream. The grits were also perfectly prepared, and not overly cheesy. I believe that I had the Mint Prohibition for my drink, and it was okay. There was quite a bit of ice, so the drink watered down quickly. I also wish that I could've tasted more of the flavors (mint, sparking rose, etc). The venue was an interesting setup with us sitting in the center of the restaurant, but I had no complaints. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and will go again when I'm in the area.

Yelp
We dined in on a Wednesday, mid-day. Our child ordered chicken tenders and was told it comes with one side so they ordered Mac n cheese. I asked for the branzino and instead of fried rice could I swap out for scrambled eggs. They said, no. Another adult ordered steak (medium rare) and eggs. The steak was medium well. Someone else ordered the wings all flats. There was a $2.50 fee for flats on our bill that was not disclosed. They charged $14 for the child Mac n cheese that wasn't disclosed. We paid the bill and left.... Won't be back.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday for brunch with my friends, and the atmosphere was serene and inviting, with a lovely jazz vibe that set the tone for a relaxing meal. Once seated, our waiter KB was attentive and asked if it was our first visit. He offered to explain the menu and made great recommendations for drinks and food. I ordered the Rhythm and Blues drink, and it certainly packed a punch! For my entree, I chose the vanilla bean French toast, accompanied by bacon and potatoes (not pictured). My friends and I all enjoyed our meals and agreed we'd return to explore more of the menu, especially the happy hour--I'm eager to try the oxtail egg rolls next time.

Yelp
DO NOT DINE - THEY HAVE MICE!!! I dined at The Breakfast Club on a Wednesday evening and, unfortunately, had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever encountered. From the moment we arrived, the service was abysmal. Our server had a nonchalant, almost dismissive attitude, and it was clear he was overwhelmed. The dining room and bar were both being handled by this one server, while the manager made no effort to assist. Although the busser brought over water shortly after we were seated, it took 10 minutes before the server finally came to greet us. We placed our order right away: I ordered the Seafood Fried Rice, which, according to the menu, includes crab, prawns, and lobster. Sadly, there was no lobster in my meal, and the rice was mushy--a major disappointment. My friend ordered the Fenton Street Wings, which were quite good with a nice spicy kick, and the Seafood Grits, which arrived hot and to our liking. That said, once the food was dropped off, our server never returned to check on us--not for water refills, not to ask about the food, nothing. We were left completely unattended, very unprofessional. Then came the worst part: a mouse ran out the kitchen across the dining room floor while we were eating. I was shocked and appalled. I have never witnessed something so unsanitary in a restaurant before. We immediately asked the busser to find our server, who was once again nowhere to be found. Eventually, the manager came over and explained that due to construction above the restaurant, they've been having mouse issues. She also admitted that because business was slow, she sent some servers home, leaving one person to handle the entire floor. This explanation did nothing to excuse the lack of cleanliness or the poor service. If anything, it further highlighted the lack of proper management and concern for the customer experience. I do not recommend anyone dine at The Breakfast Club. The service was unacceptable, the food was inconsistent, and the presence of rodents is simply inexcusable. It was an experience I will never forget--for all the wrong reasons.

Yelp
Definitely a sneaky spot for good food and vibes! Better seating available when you set reservations but luckily I was able to sit at the bar area. The food was delicious, and made with care. The French toast will definitely see me again. My only issue was that the server kept forgetting what our order was but other servers were stepping in to make sure everything was correct and smooth. For a Saturday walk in at noon i was pretty happy with how fast I was serviced. Overall 8/10 will be back

Yelp
This entire review is a shoutout to Ray, the bartender/server specifically. On a busy Sunday brunch hour, Ray was the best. He suggested great items to me, my good girlfriend and her 4-year son that tagged along with us for the day. He was truly the gem of the afternoon. The Great Gatsby drinks were probably the best decision she and I could've made at 11:30a. Loved the service, loved Ray, and loved the trip the Breakfast Club!

Yelp
I'm backkkk. :) Well, first let's start with the fact that we were over an hour late for our reservation I.e. we missed it lol. But, even with that the Breakfast Club was very accommodating. We were able to be immediately seated at the bar, where we were consistently checked on and quickly served. Additionally, our waiter was amazing. He was very attentive and kind. I got the oh so auhmazing seafood and grits (again) and per usual, it over delivered. I imagine that this savory dish was cooked with so much love. We also ordered the vanilla bean french toast, which thoroughly appeased our sweet tooth. Lastly, my friend had the Collegiate, and that will always be a staple recommendation that I give for my friends that join me. It just never misses. From the perfectly cooked potatoes to the oxtails... Just exquisite! Will be back!

Yelp
The food is amazing!!!!! The oxtails and grits were seasoned perfectly. The chicken and French toast was pretty good as well. The staff is amazing. I don't remember the name of the drink but my server recommended it and it was good. It's kinda small inside and there is usually a wait if you don't sit at the bar. There is a free parking garage a block away which is super convenient since this restaurant is in downtown Silver Spring. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I always wondered why I could never get a brunch reservation here and now I know why. This food was so good and I am already planning my next trip back!! I got the oxtail and grits and it was so delicious, the meat fell off the bone and the grits were rich and creamy just like I like it. I also tried the seafood and grits and that was yummy as well. The portions are also worth the price. I was so full when I left and had leftovers. Additionally, we got the mimosas which is $35 for a craft and they have a few flavors to choose from. I got grapefruit and loved it. The ambiance is nice but it did get a little loud in there, but we were also seated next to a large birthday party. The place is smaller than what I imagined but I prefer smaller restaurants for the experience. The bathroom needed some care and there is street parking if you don't want to park in one of the lots.

Yelp
Good food and experience! Other the street parking hassle, the overall experience was pretty good. I brought my 2 aunts here for a good breakfast of their choice. Found this spot on yelp! The chicken and waffles were delicious, tasty crispy chicken! My aunts enjoyed their pancakes, eggs and bacon with fruits. Lady server was personable and there was a constant and consistent checking on us. I loved that. Friendly people around and nice ambience!

Yelp
Reservations HIGHLYYYY recommended. We walked in and there was a 3.5 hour wait. Luckily this couple was getting up from the bar and we were able to grab those seats. We were immediately greeted and our waited was very hospitable and gave us great recommendations. We had the seafood omelet meal and oxtail with grits. Both dishes were really good and filling. The vibe was great, the music was good and I had an overall enjoyable experience. I'll be back.

Yelp
I came in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. With a reservation, there was no wait and we were seated immediately. I ordered the chicken and French toast. The chicken was cooked and flavored to perfection. It was the perfect accompaniment to the French toast. This popular dish paired so well with our mimosas. Overall, from the decent service to the vibes and flavorful food, I can definitely see myself coming back.

Yelp
On a weekday this is the place to be! On Fenton, Breakfast all day, attentive servers and AHMAZING food. I took my husband to lunch for his birthday on a Wednesday. He had the breakfast sandwich (on a cronut and served with house potatoes) and he raved about it. I had the oxtail and grits which were so good I stuffed myself and still had leftovers. So on Saturday when my sis and I were confounded with where to eat I brought her back. This was a mistake. The vibe is TOTALLY different on the weekend (everyone knows this but me apparently), parking BLOWS, but after being told the wait was 40 minutes we had a cute window seat 18 minutes later. Our waitress was perennially MIA from the moment we ordered coffee and juice instead of cocktails. It took 20 minutes to get my sister's juice and another 10 for my coffee to come out- she brought it after I grabbed a busser and begged smh. My sister isn't a huge meat eater so she wanted to try the ala carte sides and make a plate. There is nowhere to order grits, eggs, sausage (vegan or chicken) and/or potatoes and a biscuit or bread. It's not doable. So we ordered everything as sides, separately, for $4.50/each. I had grits and chicken wings. The wings were okay (my fault I ordered without the sauce as I'm avoiding sugar); the grits were a little too thick and gritty and again MY FAULT they are SUPPOSED TO BE ORDERED WITH OXTAIL or seafood lol. $90 later and it was just ... okay. She never brought the check either, just her credit card terminal, which is shady but based on the prices I was sure it was correct. This is where good service would have come in handy but the wait staff does not care on the weekends. Why? There is a standard 18% gratuity on ALL checks here. Sigh. We tried to ask her questions about the menu, but it felt like the MOMENT she heard we weren't drinking she no longer considered our presence necessary to her nor did she care about our dining experience at all- drinks drive up the tab and, necessarily, the tip. On Wednesday we tipped 25. On Saturday? 18. Because not for nothing lol. The oxtails and weekday service bring Breakfast club to a solid 3. If you're not a drinker and a socialite I highly discourage weekend brunch. But if you are, bon a petit!!

Yelp
My steak was tasteless and my eggs were dry. The eggs had that look like they had been out for a while. There should be better quality control over the food before it goes out to the guest. My wife had a omelette which she enjoyed. The service was subpar. Our waitress was not attentive at all, we had to ask for water, silverware and a steak knife. My suspicion is that the included 18% tip impacts the quality of service. No one should have to pay $32.00 for a steak for breakfast and experience that type of disappointment. The way that I determine a good dining experience is by taste and customer service. When I leave a restaurant and think about how bad the service, food and the price were then that's a bad dining experience.

Yelp
LOCATION: Silver Spring, MD. Intersection of Silver Spring Ave and Fenton St. PARKING: There was plenty of 1-2 hour street parking on a Monday morning. But I went ahead and parked at the 2 hour Fenton St. Village Public Parking Garage that was about a block or two away. I imagine as most people stated, parking is generally a nightmare more so on the weekend. SERVICE: Service was 5 stars. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us a decent amount of time and they all seemed to help each other. FOOD: Seafood Grits Crab, Shrimp, Lobster In A Cajun Cream Sauce Over Three-Cheese Grits ** I loved this dish. It was PACKED with seafood and generous with the sauce. Seasoned well. Vanilla Bean French Toast Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting, Fresh Berries, Rum Creme, Cinnamon Sugar **I didn't have this dish though my friend remarked it was good and tasted just like the bread pudding. Oxtail And Grits Bone-In Oxtail, Three Cheese Grits And An Oxtail Gravy ** I did not eat this dish but I was told it was very enjoyable though if you're not familiar with oxtail you'll have to deal with a lot more bone than meat. I feel like if they had a short rib grits dish, that would bode well. Oxtail Fried Rice Oxtail, Assorted Veggies, Herbs & Spices **I'm not big on spicy so I'll say it was moderately spicy. I actually would have liked the grits more than the fried rice. Vanilla Bean Bread Pudding Blueberry Compote, Rum Creme, Salted Caramel Gelato, Cinnamon Sugar **This was a pretty good dessert to end the night. Loved how the ice cream balanced the sweetness.
