On the Grid : The Breakfast Club

"Having established a number of outposts across London, this cozy Soho diner is the one where it all started. As well as serving lunch and dinner (such as pulled pork sandwiches, tacos and burgers), the main event is breakfast which runs throughout the day and offers an overwhelming choice from healthy to the not-so-healthy. A queue that snakes down the street is not uncommon!" - Hyperkit

Cozy breakfast spot located right in the heart of Soho serving delicious savory dishes. An absolute refreshing change from the usual sweet heavy brunch menus. We visited as a group of six and were seated impressively quickly, which is rare for central London. The staff were warm, attentive and made us feel welcome right away. I was especially impressed by their Strawberry Matcha. High quality, vibrant and just sweet enough. The Iced Latte with an extra shot of caramel was also excellent. As for food, I recommend the Smashed Avocado Toast topped with crispy bacon, and hash browns. Generous portions and packed with flavor. If you’re after a savory brunch spot with great service, central location and fair pricing, this place is well worth a visit.🥑🍳

Google
Such a fun place to go for breakfast. Very easy and fun vibes this location is one of the smaller ones so would recommend booking in advance as the queue when we got there was very long and they prioritize bookings. Food was delicious and staff were great. Very fast turn around as it was busy but was not an issue for us. Can’t wait to go again :)

First time going to the breakfast club and i loved it :) i got the smashed avocado with mushroom and hash browns !! They gave me sooooooo much smashed avocados 🥑 Very happy with it. My friend got the eggs all day with bacon and hash browns. The portion size was good - it was filling and the atmosphere was chill. The waiters were super friendly. This place is perfect for meeting up with friends and catching up :) I would definitely come back !!! Thank you :)

Google
It's been years since I last visited The Breakfast Club. There was a line but it moved quickly. Food was nice and filling. Great that I could customise (i.e: no egg) downside for me is how cramped it is and when I asked for a tea with oat milk, I was brought a tea with cows milk (hence 3/5 for service) Thankfully I can just about tell on sight the difference.

Google
These guys get their food straight out of a movie post. Look and flavor wise, it was amazing, especially considering the prices are not insane for the London environment. Do take into account that we came at 10:15 on a Tuesday and 10 minutes after we sat down (no queue for us), the space was full as they don’t have a lot of tables, maybe 12 in total. Staff were super friendly and the food came quickly, we’ll be back!

Google
Really good breakfast, well served and really well made. Great coffee, and juices. Quite a friendly staff, remember to book in advance, but luckily you get a walk-in that won't take long.

Google
Nice place for breakfast. Very tasty special spicy sauce that cane with the beans. Sitting area is small, so it can get crowded with some wait time, but it's worth it.

PENGU is COOL

Google
Showed up when they opened at 7:30 in the morning with a friend while it was still relatively empty. Really bomb pancakes with coffee with kind staff. However, we showed up the next day at 10:30 and it was really busy with a line running outside. Catch it early for the best experience.

Yelp
Came here thanks to a request from a friend and definitely didn't leave disappointed! The space is small and quaint - I was seated pretty quickly, but service after that was the only thing that I think needed improvement since it took a while to place my order and grab the bill. Food came out pretty fast though. Menu had a good selection of dishes for brunch. The All American was extremely filling and I could barely finish it - definitely only get it if you wanna be stuffed. The coffee was solid as well, I enjoyed my latte and thought it was plenty strong. Overall, reasonably priced and delicious. Thanks, The Breakfast Club!

Yelp
It's very much classic diner when you enter. Staff smiles & greets you. It's small but a cozy kind of small. We ordered the apple juice, mint tea & a flat white to start. The apple juice was very fresh, still had pulp. The mint tea was also fresh & very soothing. The Flat white was exactly how it should be. For breakfast- I ordered the American breakfast with eggs scrambled hard. I've realized that the flour they use for their meals creates a much denser bread. The pancakes were very hard to eat & the eggs were even harder. However, the bacon was bacon & the potatoes had the most flavor. We also had the French toast, bacon, eggs/ cheese & potatoes. The toast was dense, but tasted better than the pancakes. We didn't get past one bite of the eggs. Overall I wouldn't come back, except to grab a coffee. The staff was very nice though!

Yelp
The Breakfast Club All-American platter 7.34/10- name is kind of ironic. This platter comes loaded with pancakes, bacon, British sausage, potatoes, and eggs. I decided to upgrade my pancakes to the Chocolate Ganache Pancakes. Honestly, the pancakes themselves were just okay--not a huge fan of the batter; I thought they could've been fluffier. But that chocolate ganache sauce? Total game changer! It was so rich and really elevated the whole dish. Now, the bacon was overdone and way too crisp for my liking, so that wasn't my favorite. The British sausage, on the other hand, was really good--full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The scrambled eggs were amazing, perfectly buttered and just so delicious that I couldn't stop eating them. I also upgraded the potatoes to hash browns, which were really solid! I keep forgetting that hash browns here are different from what I'm used to in the States, but they were crispy and satisfying. Instagram: @hungrytamale

Yelp
I recently visited The Breakfast Club in London, and it was a delightful experience. The highlight of my meal was the Eggs Benedict--absolutely delicious! The eggs were perfectly poached, and the creamy hollandaise sauce had a rich, smooth texture that complemented the dish beautifully. The portion size was generous, leaving me thoroughly satisfied. I paired it with a Café Latte, which was another standout. The aroma was inviting from the moment it was served, and the taste did not disappoint. It was well-balanced, neither too strong nor too mild, with just the right amount of creaminess. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. Whether you're looking for a hearty breakfast or a quick coffee, The Breakfast Club is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Food was very good! Service was friendly as well. I loved the hash browns and the smoked salmon scramble. All the eggs were perfectly cooked. Very cozy ambience.

Yelp
I honestly expected better. The place is small but cozy. I got the veggie spoon and I did not enjoy it. The tofu scramble was pasty and had a strange flavor. The tomatoes were raw despite the menu saying they come roasted, veggie sausage lacked flavor, and the beans were hard. The only thing I truly enjoyed on the plate were the potatoes, mushrooms and the spinach. Service was good and I have no complaints there.

Yelp
Ordered the English breakfast for the first time, and probably last. Not really too impressed by this classic English breakfast. So the English breakfast is an assortment of many things, mostly carb driven ; we're talking carbs upon carbs upon carbs. So the English breakfast consists of the following : two pieces of toast, grape vine tomatoes , mushrooms probably cooked over a skillet, crispy hash triangles, bacon, sausage , scrambled eggs. Now there's one item I omitted because I substituted it with what I told the waiter , anything else. And that is black pudding. And no, this isn't a sweet dish. It's a beloved British side item found commonly at breakfast, but once you know how it's made, you're gonna either gonna puke or order someone else. If you're curious , do ask about it though . You would think tho might be served in china, but the Brits, c'mon , you can do better! But if you're feeling adventurous and not immediately turned off, by all means, dig in. It just won't be with me!!! The food was just okay. Kinda bland. The scrambled eggs were the highlight. You can get your days calories in one sitting. A good deal once you factor this in.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Oh i know. THE BEST DAMN BLOODY MARY IVE EVER HAD. Like, I have to go back to my BC TOO review from the Key West, FL to update my review to "second best" If I had to wait in line just for the bloody, I'd still do it. As expected, line was out the door. But if you get off your phone and chat with the peers around you, it's actually a pleasant experience. I waited maybe 45 min? Host at the door was very tentative to those waiting outside and even took our coffee order as we waited . That alone is class. Food was delicious. Portions are HUGE. Definitely a hearty size (even for an American). Great vibes. Great service.

Yelp
We wanted the full English Breakfast experience, Black pudding included, and this place delivered. The space is small, so be prepared to wait, but the food is worth it. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and fun. It had a great upbeat morning vibe with delicious food and strong coffee.

Yelp
Great food and service an ambiance Short line to get in (good sign) but it moved quickly and was worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast spot! Delicious eggs!! We enjoyed our breakfast and it's got a cute vibe!
google avatar

Yelp
Weirdly enough- one of the hardest things for me to find traveling across Europe was eggs. After a week, all I wanted was a plate of scrambled eggs and I got it here! The Breakfast Club is popular so you'll likely find a line, but if you're just a party of two, you won't have to wait long. It's pretty tight inside but the service was incredibly friendly and wonderful. My husband and I both got to make our selections for a delicious and tasty breakfast of scrambled eggs on a big piece of sourdough with crispy hash browns and some avocado. Absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
This is our second time in to the breakfast club. Great Latte and can even do it iced. They do eggs great. Had the Breakfast Sandwich the first time in and doing the Greasy Spoon scrambled with cheese and my partner did the Eggs all day scrambled with cheese. They were great!!
google avatar

Yelp
At for a little taste of home with fluffy pancakes and light maple syrup. The little breakfast and lunch spot is in SoHo amidst shops and other eateries. The service is friendly and accommodating. Loved the tunes.

Yelp
Located the convent area on some of the side roads; if you are looking for a fulfilling breakfast, diner type. This is the place. Nice and cozy. The food is cooked to order and very tasty, can't wait to go back. There was a line outside and we decided to still wait to get in. Well worth the wait.
google avatar

Yelp
We are visiting from USA & dropped by for our first breakfast. The food was great, not one speck was left on anyone's plate. The service was great. Our server had a great personality & was very tentative. The ambiance is super cool. It is definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict! Just like my mother used to make. So many places bastardize the original recipe but this was right in every way. Poached eggs were also cooked just right. Now I'm ready to go back for the pancakes. I highly recommend The Breakfast Club for breakfast or a late lunch. I'm in London for another week and I'm trying to plan how I can fit in at least two more visits.

Yelp
Our last day in London and we decided to go out for Brunch at "TBC". The food was really good, my boyfriend and I each ordered "The American" platter which included eggs, bacon, sausage, home style fries & pancakes (my favorite was them fries! They were YUM!). I had a caramel latte with oat milk and he had a nice mango/pineapple juice press which were both good. The service was great even though all the servers were scurrying around attending to everyone. The ambiance was nice too, I love the color scheme inside, however they need to update their tables and maybe expand the space considering how busy they are.. it felt very tight. Overall, the experience was good. (**Note - you will experience a long wait time outside in the cold. We waited like 35-40 mins outside.)
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
Had a great time grabbing breakfast at The Breakfast Club! Definitely got a more intimate vibe, which I can appreciate. Service was attentive, and we got our food quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
Another OMG ah-mazing breakfast place. Possibly my favorite of the many we've stumbled upon over the last few months. Very packed, which is a testament to the food. Everything was absolutely delicious. Great breakfast options. Great eggs Benedict. Though might skip it with salmon the next time. Service was excellent and very attentive, which was surprising given how busy they were. It's just the perfect gem of a place.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Ambiance a bit crowded but the food was pretty solid. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Dean M.

Yelp
Louie, the host; what a gem! Friendly, entertaining, fast moving and efficient. Made the wait quick and fun, thank you! The FOOD....nothing but excellent!!! The rest of the staff was helpful, engaging and welcoming. Could not recommend MORE!

Kerri W.

Yelp
As an American we enjoy our breakfast and finding a place that I would recommend was a bit difficult to do. Go here! The staff were so friendly and efficient. We received our food quickly and it was delicious. The space is small so probably wouldn't take a large group.
google avatar

Michele R.

Yelp
Food was really good but a bit pricey. Really cute spot though. The shareable sweet things are definitely worth it.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
Solid breakfast joint. Simple diner atmosphere. Efficient service. Prices on higher end but consistent with quality. Hot chocolate for kids is next level. A joint worth checking out for breakfast.
google avatar

Randall M.

Yelp
Many vegetarian and vegan options...delicious lattes with oat milk...friendly service. What more could you ask for. Had the vegetarian versions of the English Breakfast and Shashuska (which might be vegetarian to begin with). Delicious. The beans were the standout. Very smoky and tangy. Loved it. Was so good, we came back for a second breakfast.

Yelp
the breakfast club is a quirky and shabby restaurant that left me full and happy by the end. Arrived there shorty after 12:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately met with a line of people in front of us but I only waited about 30-35 mins max. The space is small and the tables are close but the wait staff was friendly and attentive, even though you could see they were busy. I ended up ordering the salted caramel espresso martini and the pancake stack. My drink was amazing! Great balance of caramel, coffee, and espresso. What more could a girl ask for ? Apparently an tasty pancake stack to match and breakfast club delivered that. The pancakes were fluffy. The bacon was crispy yet chewy ( only real bacon connoisseurs know what I mean lol ). The sausage was juicy and the onions and potatoes were good. Then they topped it all off with a over easy egg. It was the breakfast I didn't know I needed. It all sounds like a lot bc it is but so worth it.

Yelp
The food is so good. The waiters are so friendly and welcoming. They get you in and out if you can. Truly great American breakfast in the Uk
google avatar

Sadie A.

Yelp
Food was great! Service could've been a little better but overall was decent! The place itself was cute and lots of knickknacks and cute pictures to look at.
google avatar

Wendy N.

Yelp
We waited about 25 min for our table, but it wasn't a bad wait. The weather was agreeing with us so we didn't mind. It's a very cozy. Our server Ewa was extremely pleasant. We ordered berry and cream pancakes, blue berry pancakes, roasted potatoes and vanilla lattes. Everything was fantastic. Definitely fresh! The cream was thick yet fluffy.

Yelp
Based on the YELP reviews, I decided to stop at The Breakfast Club for a weekday brunch, during my recent visit to London. Waited in line for 30 minutes on a rainy day, chatted with a couple of people online who had loved the Brighton branch and now we're in line in this location, they said they love the place. So my expectation was set higher as the local people were inline and spoke very highly of it... When I was seated it took a while before my order was taken, ordered the banana pecan French toast, which may have not been a great idea as the egg dishes looked like maybe a better choice. My cappuccino came way after my meal, the French toast was ok, but not one of the best I have had. Lacked flavor, a bit dry... The coffee was great just wished I would have gotten it first to warm me up and also be able to linger over drinking it longer... All in all, I must say it felt like a big hype that fell short to deliver.
google avatar

Roma B.

Yelp
LOVE this place! Since we live in the U.S. we were skeptical about the quality of this American brunch, but it surpassed our standards, definitely a must go if you're visiting London! Usually jam packed on the weekends, they don't take reservations on weekends, but 2 of us went in around 9am on a Sunday and didn't have to wait in line. The line got pretty long when we left an hour later though. Very cozy, tiny restaurant. Ordered the club burrito with halloumi and banana & pecan french toast. Dishes were huge! Plenty to share. The hot sauce on the club burrito paired really well with the potatoes and eggs. The french toast was one of the best I've ever had! The caramelized bananas were the icing on top. Still thinking about the day when I can have these dishes again!

Yelp
I was craving a nice American breakfast and found the breakfast club in Soho. The ambiance was so cute & cozy. The service I was 5 star. The food was fresh & delicious.
google avatar

Frank A.

Yelp
The spot is amazing, awesome food and very fresh. The pancakes are fluffy. The bacon cooked but not overcooked. Fresh blueberries, and everything that you order with blueberries. I highly recommend the big stack.

Matt I.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service here! I ordered the greasy spoon: the sunny side up eggs were delicious and as fresh as they claimed. The sausage was quite flavorful and the sourdough toast side was hearty. My youngest is vegetarian and loved the vegetarian bacon that came with their meal.
google avatar

Gabriella H.

Yelp
Went to this place for breakfast on a Wednesday and it was pretty busy but we got a communal table easily. It's a small restaurant but good service and incredible food with big portions. Couldn't even finish everything so you definitely get value for your money. Coffee was pretty good too.
google avatar

Nick B.

Yelp
Serving food to a vegetarian adult, meat eating adult and picky 12 year old is no easy feat, for a restaurant or diners. However, fellow Yelpers guided me and the family well. My wife enjoyed the typical English breakfast while I was not lacking in the vegetarian version, which was delicious. The 12 year old settled on pancakes whose toppings were over the top. The price was not cheap (but eating out in London, even for breakfast, rarely is). We did wait 20 minutes to get in on a Saturday morning, but that was another sign we were in the right place. Overall, it would certainly be a good stop the next time I am in from NYC.
google avatar

Chloe W.

Yelp
A delicious breakfast stop in Soho but be prepared to wait! I waited about 20 minutes outside before I was seated. Once I was seated, the service was fantastic, very attentive and food and drinks came quickly. Eggs were slightly over cooked, but everything else was wonderful. Fun 80s-esque atmosphere inside. Highly recommend if you love breakfast food!
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
This is such a wonderful breakfast spot! My group and I had the nicest waitress (Vee) she was attentive and gave recommendations to us because we aren't from London so we had a few questions haha. My friends had beautiful cappuccinos with a nice milk design, the full monty (their take on a London style breakfast), huevos rancheros, the grand royale. They all enjoyed their meals. I had the Avo,egg, & cheese sandwich and it was SO DELICIOUS!!! Please if you are there get ittttt. It has avocado, soft scrambled egg yolk, red leicester, caramelised onions, tomatoes, chipotle, and harissa mayo on a soft roll bun. I live in New York and but travel often, after my visit I told myself that I would eat here every time I am in London lol!! To drink a had a yummy vanilla milkshake, can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Priscilla K.

Yelp
This place is so so cute on the outside as well as the inside. The only reason we came here for breakfast was because it opened early enough to move along with our plans for the day! Menu options were so diverse and I was about to get decision fatigue until... I decided NOT to decide on just one, but two. The Full Monty sounded very nice and British and filling, buttttt I decided on the 'Reggie the Veggie' & the 'Avocado on Rye' which is essentially avocado toast. Oh and a side of two poached eggs ;) Reggie the Veggie had everything I liked: grilled mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, beans, potatoes, blanched spinach, avocado with feta, toasted rye, and a poached egg. Healthy & yummy! Works for me! ;)
google avatar

Liliana Q.

Yelp
This place was totally worth the wait. Service was exceptional, the food & drinks were amazing too. The waitress' & waiters are very nice and very helpful. They had great music on too.
google avatar

Dera C.

Yelp
This was the best food I've ever had in my life! I tried the pancakes, cream and berries with a side of the vegan bacon and it was to die for! My friends had the big stack and the huevos rancheros. We tried everyone's dish and all were really good (mine was the best-IMO). The staff was so friendly. It's this cute, quaint spot. I'd definitely come back to London just for this breakfast.
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
Delicious & got seated pretty quick, despite there being a line. The pancakes were amazing! Would go again.
google avatar

Talesha C.

Yelp
This cute little restaurant is tucked away in Soho but is the most colorful place on the street so you can't miss it. There was no line when we arrived that morning but people quickly started to come and line up. I got the Big Stack. I didn't particularly like it because of the thick cheese and carmelized onions, but the pancakes, egg, sausage, and hash brown were good individually. I do plan to return next time I'm in London.
google avatar

Sandra P.

Yelp
This is a popular breakfast spot! We came on a Saturday morning and there was a line out the door. However, it moved relatively quickly and we did not have to wait too long. The flat white was good. I ordered the egg, cheese and avocado sandwich which was fine. My daughter had the vegetarian American breakfast and it was great! Our server was friendly and treated us warmly. My only negative comment is that it is extremely loud inside. Between the music and the regular restaurant bustle, it was almost unbearable for me. Just something to keep in mind.
google avatar

Gaby J.

Yelp
Wait isn't as long as it might look. We pulled up. And there were about 8-10 people waiting I definitely thought it would be a 30min wait. We got seated in 10min. It's a little crammed inside so I hope you don't mine getting to know the person eating next to you. Food was good. Would go back if I visit London again. Is there a yelp to review London. Because London is a 9/10. Would definitely go back.
google avatar

Erroll C.

Yelp
Well..... place was really good. Wait in line : 40 minutes Wait for food : 40 minutes Ordered the all American breakfast. It was delicious ! However the pancakes were a little dry and not much flavor. (Reason for 4 stars) Wife ordered the French toast and she loved it. I tried her pancakes (because maybe mine weren't as fresh) however, here were dry and not much flavor. They look better in pictures lol. Soooo hopefully you have better luck with the Pancakes. I would recommend coming here The service was great, zero complaints.
google avatar

Ellie O.

Yelp
O.M.G. The pancakes were so so good. Honestly some of the best pancakes I've ever had. I got the blueberry pancakes with bacon, and for me blueberry pancakes are often a hit or miss, but these blueberries were sweet not sour! The atmosphere is great, kind of a diner vibe which I think is rarer in London. My friend got the breakfast sandwich, which you can tell by the photos is enormous. She said it was good just hard to eat haha. We shared a side of potatoes, which were so good and a bit spicy, I think there was a Buffalo sauce on it? Anyways, definitely somewhere you have to try when you come to London, and there are numerous locations conveniently located around the city.
google avatar

Yelp
After a week in London, it was nice to enjoy an all American breakfast. Although those baked beans on the English breakfast stole the show. Will definitely be back.
