"TBD The Breakfast Den, a cozy bohemian cafe at 15th and South, should really be called TVBD (The Vietnamese Breakfast Den). It’s not that the traditional American breakfast options are bad—the egg-and-cheese sammy and mini bacho cakes are pretty solid. But it’s the Vietnamese dishes that are the standouts. Sneak in during the week for crispy eggplant bánh mì and breakfast rice bowls, or take your chances amongst the masses on the weekends. The Thit Ko Hash—a mountain of tender pulled pork, jalapeño, melted cheddar, and two fried eggs—is worth the wait." - alison kessler
"At TBD The Breakfast Den, a cozy cafe at 15th and South, it’s all about the Vietnamese dishes. The mountain of thit ko hash, a mildly sweet, tender pork hash with a kick of jalapeño, is worth calling out sick to eat. But for an ideal day off, you’ll also need an order of the mini bacho cakes. These silver dollars are packed with both bacon bits and chocolate chips, nailing that ideal sweet-savory breakfast combo, and offset some of the heat from the spicier mains." - candis mclean, alison kessler
"The Breakfast Den serves Vietnamese and American breakfast classics, remixed and intertwined until you’re not sure which is which. Think summer rolls filled with eggs and bacon, and a breakfast hash made with Vietnamese pulled pork. Cap your meal off with a sweet, strong Vietnamese iced coffee, and you’ll be properly fueled for wherever the day takes you." - Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme

"Most weekend nights on South Street are fueled by PBR and Jim Beam, drag shows, jukeboxes, and late-night hoagies. Luckily, the mornings aren’t. Instead, you can go recharge at Little Spoon. Rather than a bouncer checking your ID at the door, you’ll be met by a friendly host who will let you know that it might be a while. They don’t take reservations, only have seating for about 20 people, and it’s one of the more popular AM spots in the area . Between the salvaged furniture and decorations, it feels a bit like you’re having breakfast in someone’s living room, but with way better food and no need to feel guilty about not doing your dishes. The menu’s full of sweet and savory options, including both lemon ricotta and cheddar chive pancakes. And if you’re looking for a nice spot to bring a breakfast date that offers orange juice and Bloody Mary mix for you to BYOB, you can’t do much better than this place." - Jordan Price
