The Breakfast Shack

I was there on Saturday may 3 for the first time. I ordered salmon croquette and a burrito. I was told thirty minutes. I waited 30 minutes then asked about my order. I was told the cook was working on it. Then I noticed people that were in line behind me got there orders. So I asked again and was told they were bagging it. I waited a little longer and was told I will check on it. I overheard the cook saying I don’t have that order. The lady told me they are cooking it. Then the cook comes out to say they don’t have the wrap for the burrito and is now 1.5 after my initial order. The cook was very rude and condescending. Then the cook tells the other lady to refund my money. The result is after 1.5 hours waiting I left with no food and a promise to refund my money. This place does not understand good customer service. They will be rude and condescending to you if you complain about something especially the wait even if it is there fault.

I've been floating past this place for a while, and I will see a line out front saying to myself, "That place must have some good food." Well, I guess I FAAFO today. I called my order in, and even in the rush and not having a menu item in stock, the customer service was awesome. I ordered two salmon croquet breakfast sandwiches, French toast breakfast w bacon, and a shrimp omelet. I never added a side, so the beautiful young lady that was cooking added some Cajun grits as the side. Which was cool. The food was delicious and seasoned well. It reminded me of my grandmother's breakfast on the weekends. The establishment doesn't do "fast food," so it would be a good idea to attempt to call in your order and pick it up somewhere between 25-35 minutes later. I will most definitely stop in again to explore the other menu items that is in alignment with my current diet. I will be back, and I can't wait, but I have to. Thank you Breakfast Shack cook for the delicious food.

I love this spot the food is really good and made fresh to order. It's a nice clean atmosphere and the owner is always super sweet. If you are in a hurry this may not be the spot because again it's made fresh to order and that's something I can wait for. I'll definitely keep supporting this young lady.

Service: The line was short when I got there and varied throughout my wait. They were pretty nice, though our interaction was short. The wait was about 25 to 30 minutes for the breakfast sandwich and 2 sides, so either order ahead or be patient. Food: I really wanted to love this place because the reviews looked amazing. I wasn't really impressed. It was a decent meal, but it lacked a lot of flavor, the sandwich didn't have any sauce/spread, the potatoes had too much garlic, and the grits needed butter salt and pepper. It all looked amazing, but the taste didn't live up.

Things made with love take time, so have patience, it’s always worth the wait. The two ladies tag-teaming this little shack are wonderful souls who put great care & detail in all that they do. From the food, the service, and as a business, this street corner is blessed to have the Shack & all who pour into it. Their breakfast sandwiches are my go-to. Soft bun, fluffy eggs, melty cheese, & your choice of meat (pork patty + turkey patty are seasoned to perfection!) Throw on some hot sauce, spread some jam, & you have yourself a satisfying start to your day. There’s a peaceful little patio seating in the back too; go get you a bite & some sun! Stay blessed🫶🏽🕊️

I went there 2 weeks ago with my sister. It was sooo good. They have salmon croquettes. So yummy. It's the perfect menu. Staff was really nice and they have a small patio in the back. So nice.

The best breakfast food in LA. This has a beautiful ambiance in the back and the custom service is amazing. You must try this restaurant. The food is made to order and is hot. Everything I've tried has been outstanding They have eggs and meat options and pancakes and french toast plates , breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, pork chop plate, salmon croquette plate, omelettes, shrimp and grits, home fries and so much more and yummy homemade strawberry lemonade. Must go and see for yourself. Love it!!!

Had the breakfast burrito with hot links as the protein and loved it! It took about 10 minutes to get my food. The staff was very personable and included hot sauce in my to go bag without me having to ask, which I greatly appreciated. I found street parking pretty easily, but I’m not sure if that’s because I was going in the middle of a weekday morning. I believe they have patio seating if you want to eat there. I will definitely be going back.

Ordered a breakfast burrito with hot link and it was incredible. Beef had a nice little kick to it but it balances so well with the hash, eggs and cheese. Have had it twice and both times it was great. Wife ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon and she loved it. (Second time ordering and said it was great both times). Also tried a side of country style potatoes and they were killer. This spot is awesome and the owner is incredibly nice. Thank you for the amazing food!

Alright Alright! We ordered the breakfast sandwich with a turkey patty. Soooo good! Let me explain: the bread was soft with a fried egg and the turkey sausage patty if I had to guess was homemade. It was very well seasoned and not dry. We know turkey can be dryyyy. We also ordered the hash browns xtra crispy and they were just that! The wait was about 30 mins so I highly suggest you call in your order. Other than that, please go and enjoy there are a variety of breakfast options.

My friend and I came to this hidden spot in the middle of our neighborhoods (South Central and Inglewood). We sat in the patio, we liked the chill ambience. The food was delicious. My veggie omelette was a colorful delight. The omelette and potatoes were well balanced in flavor, texture, and amount of food. My friend mentioned her breakfast burrito was a bit salty, but liked it. Staff was courteous and considerate, which is vital for any business. The one thing I didn't like was that they didn't have water. Restaurants usually have water to give customers, so that was a bummer. Nonetheless, we will be coming back, except next time we will take our water bottles.

Small takeout spot, the food is made fresh to order, so be prepared to wait. The chef was nice and down to earth. We ordered several breakfast platters and breakfast burritos and everything was good. Pretty straightforward food for good prices.

This place is great and well worth the wait! They make all the food once you order it and it took about 25 mins to get the food. They did warn us before so I knew what to expect. This place is a literal "shack" but they have outdoor seating which is nice! This has got to be one of the BEST breakfast burritos I've had! I wish I lived closer because I would come all the time. Overall, don't be turned away by the wait, it is sooo worth it and they give you an accurate ETA.

Good things come to those who wait. The Breakfast Shack is a one woman show ran by its owner. Order in the front and take a seat in their outside patio, where the smells from the kitchen linger. My fave is The Choppa. Give me a big ole seasoned pork chop with country potatoes or Cajun grits and a soft biscuit any day. Expect to wait but also expect good food.

2nd time trying this place. The service is slow, they tell you the wait is 30 mins but it took an hour to get my food. The food is hot and fresh when you receive it, so you can't be too upset about that. Just plan accordingly. The first time I went I was satisfied with my burrito and even had leftovers for the next day. The pics included are from my burrito today.. I paid $19.70 for this 1 item. It seems they're not consistent when it comes to making their food.

The food was delicious. It's super small, and not too busy when I went, but the breakfast burrito was phenomenal! My girlfriend got the pork chop and grits, she said the pork was her favorite, and the potatoes were just plain delicious. Highly recommend coming for a cute little breakfast date. They have a fenced off seating patio, lots of sun, very nice and calm.

Small but quaint food spot. Delicious breakfast sandwiches. I got Turkey sausage with 2 eggs. Was easy in less than 5 minutes. Very nice lady. Super sweet! Located next to a Chevron.

The food taste homemade, truly!! the restaurant is small and intimate with an enclosed patio and the owner is also the cook!!!! she makes everything to order and provides service with a smile and warm personality the food can take anywhere between 25-40 minutes to be prepared because as i've said, the owner is the only cook and her restaurant is usually pretty busy.

I learned about this establishment today and after reading the reviews, I had to give it a try. It's a very small restaurant boutique that focuses squarely on breakfast, hence the name. #TheBreakfastShack. I tried the Turkey Sausage patty with eggs and cheese, on a lightly toasted brioche bun. It was absolutely fire. The owner Brittney hosted us and her service was impeccable. We felt appreciated and we definitely appreciated her hard work and dedication to creating breakfast bursting with flavor. Keep up the great work!!

Ok, this was a new spot for me and I was very pleased with my order. I got the bacon, egg and cheese on a brioche bun and it was fire. They make it to order so you're gonna have to wait "a minute" for your food. Small eating area round the back but not a lot of parking available.

Ok what a find! The breakfast shack is a amazing little spot that seems unassuming but the people and the food are fantastic. We had the Shack Burger, Shrimp Burrito and the Cajun Cheesy Grits. All I have to say is AMAZING! Everything was fresh and well worth the wait. Normally I would post a photo but it all looked and smelled so good I couldn't wait to eat. Next time I am in the area it will definitely be a stop for a fantastic breakfast. Definitely 5 STARS...if I could give 6 stars I would :)

Terrible service. Would not recommend not even to my worst enemy. If this is how they treat their paying costumers imagine how they treat people who they refuse service to? Disgusting. Shame on you.

It was pretty tasty and didn't take long. This may sound strange and it's not the restaurant's fault but it was too much egg on there for my liking. So if you love eggs like that then it's perfect. My stomach has a love/hate relationship with eggs. I will for sure go back but will order with less eggs

Well worth the wait! Food was brought to our table. I ordered the Florence Special. Eggs, Bacon, Pancakes, the pancakes made my mouth water. I have not had pancakes this good, I will be coming back for those specifically. The eating area was nice, clean with protection from the sun. Limited seating , but it seems most people take it to go. My wife and I loved it here. It is conveniently located next to a gas station. My least favorite part was the parking. However if you are a local you know you can't go to a small business and expect there to be parking.

I had to have my car worked on right next door. I needed a place to sit and wait. I walked down the street towards the gas station and stumbled across this place. As I entered the gas station I noticed they had a quaint little seating area in the back that's gated off from the rest of the gas station. There were also a few parking spots available. I sat for a while deciding what to order. I waited for a friend of mine to join me. He ordered the salmon croquettes with eggs and hash browns. I ordered the Florence special. Two eggs, bacon and pancakes. I had to run back to the shop and move my car since they were finished. My pancakes had gotten cold but were still amazingly delicious!!!! I also had a side of grits, I'm not usually a grits girl but the way they made them I'd eat them anytime absolutely delicious. The staff was very bubbly and friendly as well. I enjoyed talking with them. They have a sign posted letting you know that this isn't fast food. Everything is cooked fresh so it takes time. It's definitely worth the wait. I'm so glad I found this gem I will be back to support this phenomenal business.

Very sweet hardworking lady that works here. Her pancakes were on point. They were fluffy and tasty. The burritos were also a hit. Fully recommend this spot.

Found this place thru maps and saw it had 4.5 decided to give it a try despite the area its in... homeless coming up to you, no parking at all, park at the gas station next door or the next block over by the houses. GET READY TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR. I ordered 2 breakfast burritos and clearly on the menu the burrito "comes with a side" but I ended up getting charged for those 2 sides and paid $45 for 2 burritos & 2 sides that clearly dont come with the burrito... honestly what a scam and waste of time. DONT COME HERE!!! Food was basic....

Pork chop plate was 3/10. Grits were not to my liking. Biscuits were dry and salmon plate was 3/10. Salmon wasn't seasoned. Coming from New Orleans now I know. Overall 4/10. Thank you and god bless

The ladies who run this place are nice enough, while being pretty straight forward... it sort of lacks personality to be that way. But let's pretend that didn't matter on Yelp. The food can clean up that whole perspective. However, this order, a breakfast burrito, was underwhelming. I wouldn't recommend it. I also have some challenges about their price point. Only restauranteurs know what their overhead really is. And everybody is being squeezed right now. I think I'd go back, but it will likely be awhile. I just have higher expectations for my hard earned money.

The Food and Service are wonderful. I met the owner and she is really motivated to transform and uplift her business. The seating area is like a small oasis. I recommend the breakfast burrito.

My first time trying the breakfast shake and I must say that the food was on point everything made fresh to order( meaning you will have to wait) great staff the shake also has a nice sitting area to the rear of the building. Nice place to try if looking for something new to try around Los Angeles. I recommend you try a lil bit of everything from the menu

Service is fantastic the food hits the spot and this place has a variety of delicious plates, it's a small local business so expect to wait a little, but the food is worth it and the chef has a beautiful singing voice, so that was a plus absolutely loved stopping by would for sure recommend.

The food is very good, and good quality. It's always clean, inside and outside the establishment. I eat here frequently and am never disappointed. Don't knock it until you try it. Yes located next to the gas station and limited parking. However, when I say this food is delicious it is just that. Yes there is a bit of a wait but made FRESH and worth every 45 minutes that I waited. The burrito was filling and huge and last me all day! This place is delicious and I love that I visited this place on my vacation

Stopped by The Breakfast Shack for a quick breakfast and it didn't disappoint at all. Everything was cooked to perfection! :) Will definitely be back if I'm ever in the LA area again.

Foods good just the hours open could be better . We have called before and it says open and no answer and we have driven by since it's not far and it'll be closed on a day it says it's open

Today was my second time trying the Breakfast Shack. The first experience was around the time they opened, I ordered a breakfast burrito. At that time (at least a year ago) , I saw the potential, but thought they needed to work out a few kinks before I returned. Today, I was really craving a bomb breakfast sandwich. I looked on Yelp to see what I can find, and Breakfast Shack has great reviews. Seeing it low key made me proud because I love "US" and remembered my first experience. I ordered the Shack Breakfast sandwich with a hot link (per Brittany the cook's recommendation) and it did not disappoint! The eggs were fluffy, the link was the perfect texture and spice level, the bread was soft, and the presentation was nice. The hash browns really impressed me because shredded hash browns are typically flavorless, but these were seasoned better than I could have imagined. The cherry on top of all this, was Brittany's service. She was friendly, gave updates while I waited, and had a warm presence. Favorite cousin vibes (you know the vibes) lol. Anyway, I'm so glad that I returned and can't wait to be a regular.

Great breakfast burrito, I got it with bacon and it was delicious. Great service as well. Two small things, I'd love if they did a chipotle aioli sauce to go with the burrito, and would love if they expanded to have coffee.

I probably wouldn't be back. The food wasn't that good and the wait time was close to 45 minutes. My burrito was just with hash browns, veggies, and turkey bacon. The hash brown was greasy and they didn't have fresh salsa for it.

I was very impressed by The Breakfast Shack. I found this cute hole in the wall on yelp. When we arrived around 1130a there was no line. I found Britney in the kitchen cooking and she let me know right away the wait would be around 30 minutes. No biggie. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with a pork patty and home fries while my partner ordered a breakfast sandwich with a hot link and hash browns. We paid and made out way to the back where there is a cute little seating area! Britney kept us updated on our food. As we were waiting people kept stopping by to order. I was amazed at Britney doing it all! A real one person show! She brought out our food and drinks - fresh oj and apple juice, along with some condiments, ketchup and chalula. Everything was perfectly seasonedddd. The home fries tasted like something I would whip up at home! The brioche bun was soft and buttery. I will definitely be returning. Next time I would try the shrimp and grits.

First time at The breakfast Shack and it was a good experience. The owner was friendly and provided me and my kids good great customer service. The patio was nice and shady where we were seating have a cozy space. The breakfast burrito was a good portion and tasted really good. The Florence special was a good portion for the kid with they pancakes and French toast. My son really loved the lemonade, he is really picky with the lemonade and he said it was his favorite.
