Midtown’s beloved brewpub plates a Creekstone Farms cheeseburger with garlic mustard aioli and those famous rosemary-garlic fries. Long praised by local writers, it remains a go-to bar burger with character.

The Brewer’s Art has a really unique atmosphere—almost like a speakeasy tucked inside a historic home. There are several distinct spaces: a front bar area, a cozy lounge-like sitting space with a fireplace, the main restaurant, and a bar downstairs. Whether you’re grabbing drinks or sitting down for a meal, there’s a spot for every mood. Add photos of some of the different spots. I just stopped in to try a beer and went with the Resurrection, one of their main brews. At $8, it was a solid price and delivered on flavor and quality. I’d definitely come back to explore more of the menu or try the food next time. The staff was friendly, and I really enjoyed the cozy ambiance, especially lounging on a couch near the fireplace. Even though it wasn’t lit, it still added warmth to the vibe. I’ve added photos of their main beers, but they offer a much broader drink selection. If you’re in the area, The Brewer’s Art is definitely worth a visit—for the atmosphere, the beer, and the overall experience.

Google
Very underrated Mount Vernon restaurant/bar. There are two floors with a downstairs bar area and upstairs dining room. The dining room interior is beautiful with very charming library-esque furnishing. The food, salad, drinks were all amazing with great portions, and service was also very good. Excited to come back

This place is great. I used to frequent the basement bar during college. Recently went back and ate/drank at the bar upstairs. Mars the bartender is a gem and the brews were as good as they were 15yrs ago. This place is worth a stop if visiting Baltimore. The food is good, the fires are a must. If I lived in Baltimore again, I would frequent this spot. So good to be back!

Google
Excellent space, product, and staff. Great happy-hour deals and a strong beer selection. They're always brewing up new drinks, and their brewers are masters who routinely make excellent new drinks to try, which often are included in happy-hour. The rosemary-garlic fries especially are delicious and an ever-popular food. The bartenders are also friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, which makes the space feel more homey. They also distribute all over the city! They've been a fixture of Baltimore beer for more than 15 years at this point, and that position has been well-earned. I love this place. Also, I'd swear that Resurrection was a different style of beer when it first hit the market compared to what it's being marketed as now, but no one else I've spoken to feels this way...

Great food- good mix of authentic German dishes and contemporary American. We most enjoyed the summer salad, schnitzel and pretzel. Mac and cheese was yummy too. Top notch service.

Google
Great restaurant and bar with antique vibe There are three sections to this place. At the entrance, there is a bar that has big window and antique bar for casual drinks. There is a room with chairs and a couch to sit and play board games. We went to the restaurant section. I had their signature home brew beer and chicken jägerschnitzel with creamy mushroom sauce and grilled brussel sprouts. They were really good. I really like the food. I also like the beer. It was more on the heavy side and wheat beer. I think it is good for the first date or just hang out with friends. There is a basement that also serves drinks and has pub vibes. It is very casual setting with lots of people. Foods are slightly pricey to me but I really liked the food so no complaints on that. The waitor was really nice and he checked on us throughout the dinner to make sure we are doing okay. This place just has everything for the casual hangout to date night. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
What an incredible spot on so many levels. My friend brought me here to enjoy their varied whiskey selection, craft beers on tap, and cozy architecture. We split a flatbread which was on happy hour special. The dough was perfectly worked, cheese was flavorful, as were the mushrooms on top. The sauce was a bit too sweet, but it didn't interfere with the overall taste of the flatbread which was a win. My Abbey Ale was cold, effervescent, and had a toasted biscuit finish - delicious! The dining room is beautifully appointed, intelligently lit, and the menu has varied options. I'd definitely come back for a full meal. The staff was engaging and friendly, the music was jazzy-hipster in an ambient way, and the downstairs "speakeasy" looks like the place I want to be on a Friday night with some friends. Check this place out, you'll be glad you did.

Yelp
I went to the downstairs bar, and ate and drank at the bar. Service was good. It wasn't super crowded at first but built up over time. The downstairs area isn't fancy, but it's comfortable. The beer was all excellent - I tried and enjoyed three kinds over about two hours, reacquainting myself with Resurrection, which I haven't had in years. All three were very distinct and each was excellent. I ordered the Steak Frites, which was pricey at $40 but very well cooked medium rare. The fries were merely decent, but it came with a nice, fresh salad (seemed like mixed greens with arugula) and a large helping of butter with herbs mixed in. I'm grading on the beer, in particular. Value? I guess I'd say worth it, but the beers were $8 apiece. Definitely better on tap than if one were to purchase a pack of Resurrection at a liquor store. Solid markup for the steak, and I saw that burgers were $20. I guess in the future I'll come more for the drinks than the food (which was good but I'm not sure about the premium), but I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
There are so many great things going on here, starting with the beer and besides one hiccup, all the beers were phenomenal. Mars was my beertender and if you are lucky, he can help you find some great beer. I sat at the bar and ordered a flight, but on Sunday all their $8 beers are only $5 and this place will break any chance you have of working Monday. The BEER: Resurrection Abbey-style brown ale 7% ABV... Oh wow, such a great flavor and mouth feel. Wonderful!!! Beazly golden ale 7 5% ABV... Hella great. So smooth and clove forward. I could drink this all day, but would definitely need someone else driving. Slight fruity and totally crushable if you are not driving and don't want to work the next day. So deceptively smooth. Birdhouse pale ale 5% ABV... I didn't like this at all, whatever it was, yuck!!! For me it tasted like fermented throw up. This is absolutely awful. Sunny Side of the Street sour ale 3.9% ABV... ... easy drinking, a little acidic, but it was good. Imagine a Miller or Bud with Belgian banana clove flavor. It was quite crushable. Standing in the Shadows Russian Imperial Ale 8.8% ABV... so very good, tasted like a great imperial Stout, but I do understand styles make beers and it says this is an ale. A great beer none the less. St. Festus winter warmer 8% ABV... this is a perfectly brown Belgian ale. I am not familiar with winter warmers, but from the few I have had, this is my favorite. I also had a Piggy Back whiskey 6 year aged. Not sure what I was going for, but just let me know there is something for everyone here. They have mixed drinks and a heavy hand. So for food I ordered the Chicken Jagerschnitzel. The spatzle noodles were over cooked, the Schnitzel was nuked, but it was still all right. The Schnitzel lacked flavor and could have used a lot more mushroom sauce. It was edible and after a day of drinking, just right. Decent. I will be rating the beer and ambiance more than the food. This was a great experience. Can't wait to return. If you like Belgians and you are in Baltimore, this is the Brewers Art is the first, last and only stop. Highly recommend Brewers Art.

Yelp
Had to treat my goddaughter to dinner and we settled on the Brewers Art. Since it was close by and had delicious food. It had been a minute since I have been here. They have a small lot close by and you can find on street parking. Parking is not enforced on Sunday evening. Came with my goddaughter for dinner on a Sunday. I made reservations but it wasn't very crowded so we probably could have walked in and gotten a table. We got there before the sunny fares opened at 5 pm so we went to a bar for a pregame drink. I have the winter festivus on draft and she had a sangria. For my meal I decided on the chicken schnitzel sandwich that came rosemary garlic fries and aioli sauce. The food came out pretty quickly. The sandwich was delicious. The chicken was nice and crispy on the exterior with a moist juicy interior. It was topped with pickles, lettuce, and a creamy sauce. The fries were crispy and well seasoned too. I had a a sweet tooth after dinner and actually decided to get some dessert. Unfortunately they were out of the crème brûlée. I ended up settling for the apple pie skillet that came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was a prefect end to a delicious meal. I was a little shocked that theorem was no crust to rhetorical apple pie. It was just the filling with a scoop of ice cream. I wound probably it get it again Other than dessert the evening was perfect on this trip. The service was great. The waiter who appeared to also be the host seating everyone was still friendly and attentive. Never had to look for him to ask for anything.

Yelp
We were in the area on vacation and always like to hit up some local breweries on our travels. This was on our list of maybes but a local said we should definitely check it out. I also appreciated the later hours as it gave us a place to grab a drink when a lot of other breweries were closed. We got there just about when they were shutting the upstairs for the night but at least we got to look at it. The upstairs is beautiful and bright. It's more of a restaurant feel with some bar seating. Then you head downstairs and it's dark and moody. Chairs and couches tucked into corners. A small bar with just a few seats. A short taplist but with some interesting options and usually some Belgians on draft. I tried a new to me style that sounded good and it was an easy drinker but absolutely delicious. A beer I could have sat and drank all day (if it wasn't past my bedtime). Prices were reasonable. Fun environment. If we are back in the area I may return to try some food and enjoy the upstairs. I definitely recommend checking this place out whether from the area of just visiting.

Yelp
Delicious and different! Enjoyed a Christmas week dinner and ended up with left overs thanks to generous portions. Burger reminded me of quick pickles and was not too filling, served with a pile of delicious rosemary fries just to make sure you don't leave hungry. I opted for a side of nacho cheese and highly suggest the combination. Chicken Jaeger Schnitzel was massive and the mushroom sauce balanced and enhanced the schnitzel and brussel sprouts very well. Creme brulee featured a particularly thick sugar shell and was a good size to split, we tried the Sweet Potato Crostata after seeing there were no pictures on Yelp and while I would have loved a side of the caramel sauce it was a delicious pastry. Great beer and delicious food with two bars makes this a great stop before a night out in Baltimore.

Yelp
Just an update to say we do come here regularly since we moved to the area. We love the upstairs and basement bar and the staff here are wonderful. Chef, Mars, Kade, Adam, Faren, Aubree, and Ale are wonderful and always make it a great experience. The food here is awesome (try pierogi night when it comes up!) and the beers are great. Definitely happy we found this spot and live close!

Yelp
Fun spot in Baltimore near the Lyric! We went to see a comedian at the Lyric and wanted a spot afterwards for late night drinks. This bar is about a 10 minute walk from the Lyric. They have a bar upstairs and a bar downstairs so there was plenty of space.

Yelp
Brewer's Art offers a truly unique experience to any beer-lover in the area. The downstairs bar is my favorite, with a more quirky vibe, but feel free to check out the upstairs bar/restaurant if you're looking for something more classy and less noisy. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a sour on the menu as well as a Russian stout. Both were delicious beers! If it's your first time, I recommend one of their classic beers (i.e., Beazly or Resurrection). They also have happy hour if you can make it there before 7 PM, which I always miss due to work!

Yelp
This has got to be the most beautiful restaurant I've visited in Baltimore. Old world charm in a historic building - you're essentially dining in a fancy, very well restored/maintained mansion. Be sure to look up at the ceilings as you walk into each new room!! We ordered a few things across the table, including the cheeseburger, steak frites, and the chicken jeagerschnitzel. Whatever you do, make sure the dish you order comes with their signature rosemary fries: they are PHENOMENAL. HOLY COW. Of our dishes, the fries (lol) were the winners and the jeagerschnitzel was my lease favorite (overall bland). Then there were the desserts: we ordered a few ice creams and brown butter cookies. HOLY COW: THOSE BROWN BUTTER COOKIES! I desperately hope they're on the menu the next time we visit, because I've been dreaming about them ever since. It's like a deconstructed chocolate chip cookie, all the goodness of the cookie sans the chocolate, then the whole thing is dipped in a light fudgey chocolate on its side. Loved them. Service wasn't bad!

Yelp
This visit was for Happy hour! Vibes are chill, prices are decent, portions are on the smaller side. The bar fills up quickly so keep that in mind for service.

Yelp
All I wanted was a late night bite before meeting up with friends at a bar later. I didn't realize that the downtown Charles Street and R House (Remington) eateries were closed or closing by 9 p.m. on a Sunday night. I stopped by at the upper bar of The Brewer's Art on the off chance--and was rewarded with an open kitchen and helpful bar tenders, despite an empty bar (however, the basement bar was busy with people). I enjoyed the Caesar with grilled chicken and even had enough left to take home for later. Note: You order at the main upstairs bar but will get table service that includes the lounge area nearby; farther back is an ample dinning room where the menu is the same but with a prix fixe menu and ongoing specials. Whether you want to toss back drinks at an upper or grotto bar or choose from a variety of fine dinner fare--or a late night munch and drink--The Brewer's Art is a great Baltimore hangout to feel like you're a part of the city vibe!

Yelp
They have a very respectable happy hour. The bartender, at least on this afternoon/early evening was rather pleasant and attentive. I was hot and pressed for time before I needed to get up the street to Penn station to head back to DC and I just wanted a quick refreshing cocktail to cool me down. She mentioned some happy hour items but I had a margarita in mind which was not on the menu but she worked it out for me. Before I left I saw that they had 6-packs to go and she allowed me to sample a couple of styles that fit my Belgian preference profile and I decided on one. Nice price point as well. I'd pop back in here on my next Baltimore trip and try the food as well next time.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for years and was glad to see I could make a reservation here with my wife after the Ravens game against the Seahawks. It is conveniently located along both bus and light rail lines so it made it convenient as we head up towards Penn Station after the game. It is in an older building which gives it an old world feel , so unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. There is ample seating in different areas and few made reservations in the dining room in back but there were Ravens fans near the bar in front. Our server was great and quick and we tried a flight of all the beers which we enjoyed but the particular highlight was the food. We ate the seasonal specialities which were the Butternut Squash Soup, Sweet Potato Gnocchi, and the Sweet Potato Cookies which we all loved. We hope to come back another time maybe with family or friends .

Yelp
Phenomenal service! We weren't sure what to get and the staff were very helpful in offering their suggestions. The upstairs area is for dining and downstairs is for the bar. Food was cozy and hearty - it was pouring rain outside so this was perfect. We particularly enjoyed the cabbage on the sausage platter and how tender the pork belly sandwich was. The mac n cheese and pretzel were delicious! Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Baltimore

Yelp
You always win at The Brewer's Art! The ambiance, food, drink and service are outstanding!

Yelp
Food: I got the vegan burger with fries and the portion size is HUGE! You do get a good amount for your money. The garlic parm fries were great! The burger was pretty decent, it could've used more flavor or maybe an additional sauce/fixings to make it a little better. Service: our server was so friendly, attentive sweet and knowledgeable. She helped us pick out food and knew the menu! Ambiance: the place is casual and there's a good amount of space in the restaurant for groups to be able to come and out as needed. I don't drink so I don't have much to say about the drinks there. The mocktail was okay, I wish there were more options or more juice/mocktail variety.. especially now in 2024 where that's something way more people are going for in terms of non-alcoholic options.

Yelp
Really nice food and beer, service was just okay. The grilled chicken sandwich was really great, same with the spring salad. Chocolate budino was underwhelming

Yelp
I was passing by the Brewer's Art and stopped on a whim while waiting for my friend. It looked really interesting from the outside. Firstly, the decor is stunning. There's lots of cool art on the walls (per the name). The front room when entering has bar service and the room in the back has full restaurant service. There was a lull in the late afternoon, so people were on laptops or reading. I camped out for a bit at a bar table doing some light work, sipping Bordeaux and working through that generous plate of rosemary fries. The vibe was absolutely perfect. And, the happy hour deal was phenomenal (~$15). Before I left, the crowd started to spill in - couples, friend groups, solo diners etc. I really liked the versatility of this spot. Staff was attentive and quick, and snacks were A+. I would recommend checking out this spot out if you're in the area.

Yelp
It has it all. Upstairs, downstairs, large dining area, small cozy bar area, but we came for the in house beer. Sunday afternoon visit on the way out of downtown. Sunday is free meter parking on the street. We parked around the corner. Discovered downstairs was closed until 5 PM. Fantastic draft beers. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable employee behind the bar. Chorizo and honey flatbread was outstanding as was the German pretzel and Asparagus and cheese soup. Brewery is located upstairs and downstairs in the back. Stair-steps are involved to use either building entrance.

Yelp
We had the most bizarre experience at Brewer's Art tonight. My wife ordered the salmon, which is supposed to come with polenta. There was no polenta on the plate. She asked the server. He went back to the kitchen and came back to report to us that they make their own polenta, so it might be different than what you expect. This might be true, but there was still no polenta in the plate. We were out with friends celebrating a friend's birthday, so we didn't make a fuss about it, but it was simply bizarre for them to tell us it was there when it wasn't. Also our friend ordered the mussels which were supposed to be cooked with bacon, but there was no bacon. I ordered the burger medium, and it came well done. On a humorous note, when we checked the menu online, it said that the salmon came with "criminal," which turned out to be creminis. But this all pales in comparison to telling us we didn't recognize the polenta when the polenta wasn't there.

Yelp
Food was subpar. They were clearly understaffed in both the front and back of the house. Ambiance is really nice but just go for a drink. Skip dinner!

Yelp
Splendid gem in Baltimore! We stopped in for a happy hour on a Monday afternoon. We chose to sit in the second room of the upstairs bar. Cozy leather loveseats and coffee tables, along with a friendly bartender makes this place feel casual despite looking pretentious. I love how the painting over the fireplace is of a guy in a hoodie making beer. We enjoyed two beers, I specifically liked the seasonal brown ale with cherries along with some lightly dressed and lightly cooked brussel sprouts. I appreciated that they didn't try to make them into chips like so many places do. They still resembled vegetables with a good natural crunch. Worth a visit for sure.

Nicole B.

Yelp
What a cool spot. I loved the vibe, very old. It was perfect for the winter day, old and dark. I recommend the rosemary fries and resurrection beer. I will say the mussels entrees was good but wow so many! Would recommend. We went to the pub down below; it was creepy and dark. There were fluorescent red lights everywhere. It gave a hell look. It was cool.

Yelp
I first went to Brewer's Art a month ago and have gone once a week since the first time. I really love the atmosphere both upstairs and downstairs. The service is great each time. I've had the White Flatbread pizza, the lentil and beet burger, the brown butter sugar cookies, and of course the garlic rosemary fries. I really loved the lentil and beet burger however, it was a bit on the salty side. The brown butter cookies are absolutely delicious. They're perfectly crisp on the edges and chewy on the inside.

Tate B.

Yelp
As you enter, you'll find that this establishment feels more like a nice restaurant than a standard, laid-back brewery atmosphere. It has an elegant ambiance and decor. The beer is excellent. Their flagship, Resurrection, is an excellent, gentler-than-usual specimen of the Belgian quad style. The food was very good as well. We got two appetizers and two entrees and everything was great. They mostly serve bar food done to a very high standard, though they do have some things like steak frites. This isn't a budget place, but if you're looking for a nicer meal and also like breweries, I happily recommend the Brewer's Art. 4.7 stars.
google avatar

Vee L.

Yelp
The place is absolutely gorgeous. There was the option to sit at the bar, in seating in an adjacent room, or regular table service. The food was delicious. Simple and comforting but still impressive. Beer was creative, delicious, satisfying after a long day...all that good stuff.

Sam K.

Yelp
Old mansion converted into a bar restaurant, kind of German /speakeasy vibes. Super cool beer glasses. Garlic rosemary fries were to die for, but sausage platter was a lot smaller than expected. Beer selection was small but decently priced. Would highly recommend for a sit down dinner.
google avatar

Brent C.

Yelp
They make a perfect, little chicken potpie. It is only 1 to 1.5 cups in size, so it's good for lunch or dinner. The top is crispy, and the inside crust has that wonderful, crispy, doughy combination, accompanied by nice chunks of chicken and the right balance of veggies, all within a thick and creamy sauce. You get a nice size Arugula salad with vinegar dressing that cuts through and balances out the creaminess of the potpie.
google avatar

Jose M.

Yelp
It's still one of my favorite bar/restaurants anywhere. The beer is the star of course, and I dare even the pickiest, "I don't like beer" person to not find something they like. The bar food and entrees are also solid (I like the spaetzle or the steak frites). I may be biased - I did celebrate here after I passed the bar exam many moons ago - but I've never had a bad night, drink, or meal here and if you're in Baltimore, you have to check it out.

Yelp
I spent my early 20's going to this place, I'm 40 now and delighted they're still around. Returned to Baltimore for a short work trip after having moved away in 2009. Checking out the old scene, you know? So I headed on down to Mount Vernon. Brewer's Art was an original gangster of Baltimore's craft brewing revival, catching the early-2000's Belgian ale trend to their stunning early success. For a while, they were a kind of hipster, restrained, professional class answer to the peanut butter microbrews being slung around at places like DuClaw. After a white tablecloth dinner upstairs from an inventive kitchen, one could head downstairs to the dungeon-ish basement and continue being thoroughly hip. They still produce Resurrection ale after all these years. That beer is a real sweet spot; it's a Belgian dubbel/brown with high alcohol that manages to be nice and dry. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with rosemary garlic fries. The dryness of the beer really cut the fattiness of the burger. Super good, and OMG those fries. So, the pandemic kicked everyone in the teeth. TBA was not doing table service the other night, we ordered at the bar. Quality was as great as ever, but the menu was smaller than I remember. They're short staffed just like the rest of the world. I'm glad they seem to be surviving, albeit in a different form than before. They are absolutely worth your time and money. Cheers to one of my favorite places on earth.

Yelp
Came here with a large group of people (over 20) this past Friday and Brewer's Art was able to accommodate all of us! Basically we ordered things up at the bar then went and sat at a couple tables in the back, the servers brought things out and took new orders from the table which was nice. I tried 3 different cocktails (deadly experience, snakebite, and camp jellyjam) and they were all amazing, definitely well made! For food, ended up getting the rosemary garlic fries which were amazing, thin and crispy but still soft, I tried the cheeseburger which was good, and the Mac and cheese which I didn't really like.. I think they were going for a smoky flavor but it just didn't hit right for me or the people I was with. I actually accidentally left my credit card there but went back the next day and got it back. Everyone was really friendly and non-judgmental. Also I will say the space looks kind of like a country club but it was actually pretty laid back, so whatever your vibe, I say it's worth checking out Brewers Art and getting a cocktail or two or more!

Yelp
Service and food were good and great place to catch dinner before going to a nearby show (The Lyric). Years past I had better memory of wider and more upscale entree choices here. Still good-just not as fine dining. Very friendly atmosphere .

Yelp
This place is amazing and the bartenders have been amazing helping me pick a few beers out and enjoying a 64 oz to go.

Yelp
Great classy bar with good ambiance, decent bar food. The service was very good. They could add more food options

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic place. Terrific and imaginative food served with extremely tasty beer. And don't forget about dessert. The cheesecake and blackberry pie are spot on. The owner and his staff are very professional and personable. Simply an outstanding place.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the Brewer's Art. The atmosphere inside offers lots of variety of rooms. We enjoyed tasting both a beer and a non-alcoholic option with Ursula Major, which is created with ceder non-alcoholic gin, earl grey tea, falernum syrup, pineapple, lime and non-alcoholic bitters. I was told it tasted like a gingerbread cookie. My choice was Resurrection, which is an Abbey-style brown ale. It has a deep amber color and rich flavors - just what a brown ale should taste like.

Yelp
Still amazing! Popped by yesterday for super early dinner cuz we old now lol. Took nice seat at bar. Had tasty Cathedral Ale - per bartender, it's new. Light, crisp, very refreshing!! Menu smaller, but everything you want barring seafood (well, mussels are here!). Menu definitely has German tilt - given beer is their thing, makes sense!! Sausage platter spot on- juicy, flavorful half smoke (I'm from DC area- that was pure nostalgia) and a nice nutmeggy brat. Good mustard and curry ketchup, tasty cold German-style potato salad (vinegar, bacon, onion, no mayo), and a nice mild kraut. Spot on!! Wifey enjoyed her cheeseburger and the fries are AMAZING! They offer sausages, burger, chicken schnitzel, steak, airplane cut roasted chicken, large menu of small plates, some soup, salad- what else do you need? Bar tender was friendly and helpful, too. Great place!

Yelp
Love the architecture of the building. The beer is fantastic, and I'm not even a beer drinker really. I got the Resurrection and tried some of my friend's and both were excellent. Served in fun glasses too! The menu is a bit limited but I fully enjoyed my cheeseburger and the generous fries. My friend got the beet burger and that was quite good too. It's a bit confusing - they take no reservations so once the full service section is full (first come first serve) then the only spots left to claim are the bar area in the front and downstairs. You have to go place your food and drink order at the bar and service is more limited. The basement is a bit more grungy so I opted for the upstairs bar area, since the seating was all full at 5:30p on Saturday. Seems like a great place for a date or to hang out with friends.

Yelp
Ummm great spot. A little pricey in the liquor side but alright. Has a basement bar which is cool. Happy hours is decent. Service is good.

Yelp
In my last two visits, I was disappointed in food that I ordered. It appears that my once go to hang out for myself and my friends, has moved itself from being a great place to meet up, have a few drinks, and eat. Now they become over priced since they no longer have the sunday happy hour and the food has become a very poor value for the price. On both visit we ordered their once fantastic Garlic Rosemary Fries. They've always been nice long shoestring fries with plenty of garlic and rosemary. On both visits we got a plate full of fries that looked to be the bottom of the bag. Not one of them more than about 3/4 of an inch. You could not even pick them up and dip them in the mayo or ketchup. ON the second visit we returned them only to have a new plate of fries that only half the plate were this way. My main dish on the first trip was the sausage plater. What a big disappointment. They have gone from a variety of four or five sausages to only two sausages that I could have bought at my local grocery. Each Sausage about the size of an average hot dog. The second visit I ordered an old stand by, The Caesar Salad with Chicken Breast. ($21) The picture I added is the plate I got. Past salads were a generous mound of romaine lettuce with crisp parmesan cheese and more recently, an airline chicken breast. This time I receive a much smaller amount of lettuce ( about 1/3 than past) and the small chicken tender. Really It was a chicken tender. Barely any caesar dressing, no cheese that I could recognize. It was like I was eating plain lettuce and a broiled chicken tender. I left hunger and stopped and ate at another restaurant on my way home. Our group, who had been going here for over a decade decided that through the year the quality and value of the food has diminished each time they hired a new chef. We hung in there hoping that things would change but with the latest change in chefs, and the lack of happy hour, the once great place to meet up with friends has become a thing of the past. This is not to say the the food was bad, it's just not worth the price you have to pay. The staff has always been a joy to see and gone out of their way to take care of us to the extent they were able. To sum it all up I would say that the Brewer's Art has manage to move itself form being an exceptional value, with exceptional food and beer, to being nothing more than pedestrian at best lacking the value that warrants the prices you have to pay.

Yelp
Relax and enjoy. No pretensions. Fancy or folksy feel depending on where you sit. Excellent personalized service with servers working together. Food is excellent. Appetizers of garlic fries or crab dip are a step above and consistent over the 20 plus years we have been coming here. 20 years ago it was a date place with a fun bar atmosphere. Now it is a fancy dinner place with amazing food (pastas are excellent) and always top service. On a few occasions I've had events in the back room by the beer brewing that you can see through the glass. And the venue made the event easier. Brewers Art is a Baltimore staple. Everyone knows them from the beer they brew, especially resurrection beer, and the restaurant is top quality all around.

Yelp
Slow service food is not what it use to be sadly! They have simplified there menu since Covid and sadly it is not the same. Probably won't be back unless just quickly stopping by for a beer m.

Yelp
I have no idea how writing this review has escaped me so long. I love Brewer's! The first time I went was years ago for beers downstairs. Before that I had tried their beer at several different events around the city. Their rosemary garlic fries are TO DIE FOR! Do you hear me? TO DIE FOR! My first full sit down meal experience was last summer (2017) restaurant week. I had THE best pork chop and BBQ lentils. The chop was grilled and seasoned to perfection. I don't know why it never occurred to me to add BBQ sauce to lentils but I've basically been eating them that way ever since. I always love the vibe. My friends and I hosted a bar crawl earlier this year and Brewer's was a stop. We had such a great time that we never made it to the next destination and closed the night at their downstairs bar. This restaurant week was no exception to the awesomeness. I enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, sea bass, and cheesecake. I'm on a quest to find the best fried green tomatoes in the city and these are definitely a contender. The crab and corn salad was so summery and refreshing. The sea bass was equally delicious bathing in a corn bisque. Would have liked more tropical fruit (guava I think it was) syrup with the cheesecake, but the oatmeal cookie crust was amazing. I have no complaints. Quickly becoming a favorite!

Yelp
I've been bugging all my friends and BF to go to Brewers Art for the longest time but somehow we always end up other places. Finally, I put my foot down and ended up here during restaurant week! We made an easy reservation via open table and were seated on time. Our waiter was understanding when our other party was late and didn't make us feel bad. The restaurant week menu had a lot of options. I got the sesame pretzel as an app, steak frites as an entree, and goat cheese and guava cheesecake for dessert!! The cheesecake was probably my favorite, which is saying a lot bc im normally a savory person! Everything was delicious and portions were generous. Wash it all down with a Resurrection (my favorite Brewer's Art beer) and life is good!

Yelp
Great vibes and very nice staff. It took a long time to receive our food, but the waiter was very apologetic. I got the muscles with bacon for my entree. It was very tasty but not super exciting. It came with "toasted" bread that tasted like lighter fluid. My husband got the burger & garlic fries. He said it was delish. Only a minor complaint that his fries arrived fairly cold.

Yelp
ROSEMARY FRIES, ROSEMARY FRIES, ROSEMARY FRIES. I said it three times hoping they would magically appear in front of me. Alas that wont happen so I'll regroup and say i said it three times because you can have these delcious fries for happy hour, dinner, and late night drinks and they are always delicious!!! Ive been to Brewer's Art on many different occassions at all times of the day and night and I've always had good times, good drinks, and good food. The atmosphere in all areas is such a good vibe no matter if you want to be in the upstairs bar and appreciate the original moldings, the dining room and the gorgeous fire place or the downstairs bar with the red mood lighting anywhere you sit you can get a good drink and did I mention the rosemary fries? But its not just about the fries. The menu is seasonal as is the rotation of beers available. And they definitely have an array of local options which for me not loving beer is great to find meadworks because it tastes like a cider to me. Definitely go to Brewer's you'll never be disappointed

Yelp
Brewer's Art is a must go if you're in the mount vernon area. I've been here many times on school events, company events and with friends. Always a great experience! The basement bar has a great environment, definitely geared towards an older crowd. I've had the Resurrection (brown ale) very malty and some hops and Birdhouse (pale ale). Food: I've had the luck of trying a ton of different appetizers and small plates due to events hosted here. From pork belly to charcuterie plates and mac and cheese, everything was great. I'll definitely come back to check out the upstairs area and have dinner as everything in my experience has been great!
