When Bricks won a Grosse Pointe News "Best" award we decided to try them. We weren't disappointed. We ordered a large (16") pepperoni pizza for pickup, which was ready in 20 minutes. It had a thin crust with a puffy edge, had the right amount of pepperoni and tasted very good. For two of us, half the pizza was plenty for dinner and we'll enjoy the leftovers the next day.
They lose a star because of minor annoyances: (1) Their website photo shows green pepper on the pizza, which we don't care for. So of course we could add a note asking them to remove it? Not on your life, they only accept online orders, there's no place to add a comment, and they accept NO CHANGES in any order, which is stupid. (2) So we phoned the restaurant, and were told the website photo is wrong, there is no green pepper on that pizza. And yes, we are not allowed to make any changes in an order. (3) The online order system told us a pickup time (40 minutes), but when when we paid they changed it to 20 minutes; in no case were we able to choose a pickup time. This is pretty primitive order-taking, they can do better than that. (4) When we picked it up they had trouble finding our order. Perhaps because I gave them my last name and they had filed the order under first names? Since ours was the only one on the counter, it should have been easy to find.
Bottom line, we will patronize Bricks again, because the pizza is very tasty, so we can put up with a few annoyances. And since they also have adult beverages, we may book a table next time.
