Owner and chef Trenton Chamberlain, who focuses on organic and locally sourced ingredients, is working with Fox Hollow Farms and Ferris Organic Farms for produce and wheat. It also includes a private dining room, arcade, and patio seating." - Brenna Houck

Owner and chef Trenton Chamberlain is behind the new project at 15201 Kercheval Ave., which will serve pizzas made with naturally fermented dough made with “stone-milled ancient grains,” according to a release. The Bricks is on track to debut in July and is currently in the process of hiring its opening team including several key bar and kitchen management positions." - Brenna Houck

Pizza had good flavor and amazing cheese! The service was great and our food came quite fast! After the 1st pc, though, the pizza was soggy...little disappointing.

Google
The wood fired pizza is incredible, highly suggest putting some hot honey on it. Atmosphere and service have been fantastic.

Service is good. Young teens. The pasta is heavy with too much sauce. Salads are fine. Pizza is rough - greasy and they totally overwhelm the crust. Either use more dough or less topping. Dough is the life of a pizza, don’t crush it. Let it live, rise, and have structure. Less toppings is more. For a place that makes its own dough they treat it badly. Weirdly enough you cannot get oil and vinegar for a salad dressing….that is all they will ever offer in the old country, odd. Good atmosphere.

Google
Great restaurant with trendy local vibe. Hosted a mini reunion dinner party for family in their event room. Service was impeccable, and food was great. The manager Shannon was highly communicative and answered all my questions with a quick reply. Loved the event space which was just large enough for 25 people. Menu items had a great selection and it was almost too much food! We were allowed to bring in our own dessert as well. The servers for our event were always there and cleaning up as well. The arcade room is a fave esp. for the kids as well as adults. Retro game playing can always bring out more fun! My favorite here is their pepperoni pizza. The smaller spicier pepperoni’s are so delicious! Salad is great as well as the apps. Highly recommend The Bricks for any small event, which there are not many of these places in the Grosse Pointe area with event space.

Google
My husband and I met a friend here for dinner last night. They ordered a Lil' Pep pizza, which my husband said might be the best pizza he's had in Michigan (we moved here 3 years ago and have eaten LOTS of pizza since). I had the Ragu and can say without a doubt it was the BEST pasta I've had (not just in Michigan), I honestly LOVED it and could eat it every day!! We will definitely be back!

Google
I went here to the first time and had a nice time. We dined inside and it was quite noisy and hard to hear each other. However, we had great waiters. The spicy pizza was tasty and spicy, though I don’t really care for the dough. I wish they served more arancini in the bowl. The deserts were great. The prices were a bit expensive.

Jon Jones

Google
Bricks is an incredible spot for pizza and italian classics. The arancini, citrus salad, cacio e pepe and pizza were all really really good. The food is not inexpensive, but it is high quality and the staff take great care of patrons. This place fills up quickly, however theres a small bar which is first come first serve. The beer, wine and cocktails are all nice and accompany the food well. They also have private dining rooms for those who are interested!

Google
This was my 2nd time here. 1st time I was with the girls and we tried the whitefish chowder and pasta 2nd time with my husband and we had the pizza. Both times the service was great. Restaurant is clean and decorated beautifully for the holiday. The food: the whitefish chowder is absolutely the best! It is delicious and I craved it for weeks after having it! The pizza is one of my top 3 favorites ever! The crust is thin enough that it's not doughy and crispy they definitely make a awesome sauce! We bought a gift card so our family can try this pizza also because we thought it was so delicious. We definitely will return. The only complaint I have on my 1st visit we sat on the patio and I did not like the chairs but the space and vibe was great. Totally a personal preference, it was not a regular chair it was way more relaxed than I like to be while I am eating food. I prefer to sit at a table level and not laid back. So for me to sit at the table level I had to sit on the edge of the chair and not sit back so it was not very comfortable. Otherwise this place is definitely doing dinner the right way! Drinks were also poured well.

Yelp
The atmosphere was fun and easy. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and you are treated well here. The menu has lots to choose from and a good variety of drinks. The appetizers were excellent and s good variety of choices , the food was top notch the pizza very very good. We will be back again

Marybeth D.

Yelp
Good excellent- 4 different pizzas and 2 salads. My favorite antipasto. Services good by Zen. Not a fan of sitting in arcade room with kids, but we had a large party and that was available.

Stacia G.

Yelp
Went here for dinner on a random Friday. Found out in an interesting way that you can have dogs with your table on the patio. I was officially the girl with the dog for reservations- even though I have another name entirely. (And no, it wasn't my dog.) Family friendly, parking available across the street. This area is busy. It was nice to be outside and see folks come and go. The pizzas are unique and tasty- sadly not vegan- and lactaid worthy! Cocktails abound and very well made. Family friendly for those with families. Arcade in the rear, for young and old alike.

Vivian P.

Yelp
Love this pizzeria! The topping options and combinations are amazing which makes for an awesome pizza.

Kathryn G.

Yelp
We enjoy a trip to bricks from time to time. The process to make a reservation is easy, although they do require a credit credit in order to make a reservation. The card on file will be charged $15 per guest if you fail to show up or do not cancel in time. I like the atmosphere here. It will get busy, but you'll still be able to hear what others at your table are saying. The patio area is large and when the wall doors are up you can still enjoy it even if you're inside of the building. The meatball appetizer was fine, nothing about it stood out, but was good enough to enjoy. It's a good starter to split. I enjoy the thinner style pizza they serve here. I developed a like for hot honey with their own homemade version, which has been a good compliment to the pizza. Pizza always comes out hot and cooked just right.

Joe P.

Yelp
We went to Bricks on an impromptu visit. (Highly recommended a reservation) we had to wait almost an hour which is why I say make a reservation. That being said Shannon work diligently to find us a seat. He was amazing. Our server William was also very good. We got the arancini and it was amazing!! My wife's pasta was fresh and absolutely delicious! My daughter and I shared the Fungi and Swine. I would eat it again and again and again! Highly recommend! The ambiance was welcoming and warming. The staff was professional from the door to the kitchen. Well worth the wait and is a gem of Grosse Pointe!

Burt W.

Yelp
Arrived 5pm on a Friday night. Hostess told me that because we did not have a reservation we would be seated at the worst table next to the noisy arcade and would have to leave in an hour. Pretty damn insulting for a first impression, but we were hungry. Food and service were good.-pizza is good but not $25 good. This is a fancy bougie pizza place (kind of an oxymoron if you ask me). Nothing remarkable on the menu. Interior is very nice. My thought- pretentious & overrated.

Erin L.

Yelp
Between the service and pizza I was disappointed. I ordered a pizza online and arrived several minutes before the pizza said it would be ready. The server wasn't friendly and I stood awkwardly trying to figure out if my pizza was ready or not. My pizza was not hot or even warm when I got home. Probably the last time I order from here for awhile.

Leah G.

Yelp
This place was fantastic! I ordered the special which was lobster linguine and it was delicious. It should be a regular menu item! I'm the pizza was perfect and drinks were great.

Terry W.

Yelp
The pizza was delicious and the service was excellent. One of my favorite places to grab a pizza and a drink

Brian L.

Yelp
Outstanding as always. Best pizza in the GP area and among the absolute best in Metro Detroit. Perfect crust with a slight char...terrific sauce and fresh mozzarella...so good! House salad is terrific as well.

Steve S.

Yelp
Service here is always amazing. The food and drinks are also very good.. I have been a bunch of times over the past few years and each time it's the same experience "excellence".

Natasha A.

Yelp
Unfortunately I have gotten food poisoning from this restaurant twice. The first time I thought it was just me, and that I was just sick but the second time I was stuck in bed for an entire day after about 12 hours of vomiting. I do think the food tasted incredible going down. I had the mozzarella, bread, Gemelli, and the fungi swine pizza.

Samantha M.

Yelp
Bricks has potential to be great but the food is getting worse and worse each time I go. The salad and apps are usually okay but the pizza has been SO soggy the last three times I've gone! I even asked for it well done last time and it was still a floppy mess. The staff also was cleaning up 45 minutes before close and made our party feel rushed. Will admit their hot honey is incredible though!

S U.

Yelp
The Bricks is an excellent Italian restaurant in GPP. The food is so good--whether it's a fire/stone oven pizza, any of their apps to salads, or any of the pasta dishes. They make everything from scratch including their pasta and I love going here for everything from takeout to a date night with my husband or son. The game room in the back is fun for kids while parents chat and the staff are kind and accommodating, even when it's hopping.

Regeana G.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! We ordered the Beet salad, Mushroom pizza, Pep in your Step Pizza, Cachio E Pepe pasta. Everything was made to perfection! Staff was like a well oiled machine, checking in consistently throughout the meal. We are on the outdoor patio and fully enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere.

Bob E.

Yelp
Odd menu. A bit pricey. Thin crust pizza with no changes allowed. Will only return if forced to.

Mj J.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Bricks Pizzeria for quite some time. We were hopping around and decided to stop in for a quick drink and order a pie. I was so impressed by all of the options for pizza. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that they do not let you have any substitutions on the pizza. We decided on the simple, yet delicious, Margherita pizza. It was cooked perfectly, thin and crisp just the way I like it. I would most certainly recommend this spot for a great pizza pie!

John M.

Yelp
I'm sad to see this going down. First, the service is great however the pizza was exceptionally greasy and underwhelming given the price. It was my son's favorite however we will be going to Supinos in the future. They've reduced hours to 5-9 5 days a week which implies that I'm not the only one that is concerned with their quality. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it but 20 hours a week seems bad to me.

Thomas I.

Yelp
Came in with a group. Restaurant was empty and they rudely refused to seat us because of reservations later? The restaurant was literally empty. We will not spend our money here again.

Janine L.

Yelp
Long overdue shoutout to this amazing place. Accommodating& fun! Favorite spot at the bar! Arcade too!

Melissa M.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service. Honestly everyone e from the hostess to our server was amazing. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back.

Joseph M.

Yelp
Updating my review. Loved it when it first opened however the last time the pizza was overwhelmingly greasy. Either I went on an off day or the food has declined. Service was solid however there were a few tables that appeared to think a game area means free babysitter and the kids back there made it unbearable for my table. I'll probably give them another try as I hope this was just an off day but the amount of grease on the pizza was simply overwhelming

Erika And Chinonye Eats S.

Yelp
I got take out. Pizza was good. I'll have to experience dining a different day. I ordered a cheese pizza.

Donna A.

Yelp
A wonderful meal at Bricks. Loved the antipasto salad. Its dressing tasted absolutely homemade and had artichokes and those little red peppers in it. Just so Yummy. The huge shavings of cheese were wonderful too. Our pizza was delicious too. We had a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Loved the sauce and the overall taste. I would have given five stars.....now I'm going to be a "pizza snob" here....I like my crust a bit more crispy. The crust was good; but, for me, it could have been crispier. Our server was so nice too. We will return for sure.

Pam A.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place as I follow them on Instagram. I booked a table on Resy. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who sat us at a high top. We ordered drinks and mussels which were a special today. The mussels were served in a delicious tomato sauce and came with 2 hunks of freshly baked bread. The bread was perfect for soaking up the sauce! We then ordered the roasted mushroom pizza and pasta with pesto. The pizza was perfectly baked in their wood fired oven. The crust was thin and crispy. I only had a bite of the pasta because I was getting rather full but it too was delicious and tasted fresh. They also do carry out. I can't wait to go back. The Brick's will be on my regular rotation.

Victoria W.

Yelp
Excellent service and atmosphere. We really enjoyed the patio seating. This restaurant is family friendly even though they don't have child menus, it's very easy to find something on the menu for the kiddos to eat. Our server was quite attentive and very patient with us when we needed more time to decide what we wanted. The pizza had great flavor and the pasta was well cooked. The a fox Hollow was a little salty given all of the pork, but only relevant if you have dietary restrictions for salt intake.

Katie K.

Yelp
I liked this restaurant. The pasta options were good, and we all got a pizza to share and loved it! I wish there had been some more soup/salad options as an appetizer, but the pizza was top notch.

Kaycee R.

Yelp
I appreciate that we are always able to get in but hate that we have more than once been seated at a high top with two children under the age of 5 - with multiple empty low tops (which have often remained empty the duration of our visit). Drinks are okay, pizza is fantastic, and our littles love the shrimp appetizer!

Jim H.

Yelp
First night in Detroit close suburbs trying to find a place to eat was tough. Friday night is family night in Grosse Isle Park so we were lucky to find anything. The weather didnt help as the sky darkened and we grabbed some outdoor seats under an umbrella. We survived a few drops then the sky opened up. The staff found a place for us inside just getting vacated by a child's birthday party. She also found us some beer and took a quick appetizer order. We ordered pizza but not Detroit style. This was more a pizza we would have in Western Pennsylvania. It was really good. The crust was strong enough but sweet and chewy. The sauce was like an Italian nunni made it for the family Sunday meal and the toppings were all fresh and seasoned nicely. Everybody was Midwest nice. It was a great start to a surprising weekend as a Detroit tourist.

Yelp
The Bricks just opened this week, and my friends and I decided to try it last night for a group night out. We were not disappointed. The location is great, among other restaurants and shops in Grosse Pointe Park, and is along the trolley route so you can easily get there even if you don't want to park there (or drive in general). The restaurant is bigger than it initially looks, as it is deep. There is an outdoor patio, bar which is open to the kitchen, as well as an arcade area. The menu is fairly extensive, with many new and inventive pizza options. There's also a cocktail and beer/wine menu, and a dessert menu. The restaurant also has their own farm and prides itself in sourcing the ingredients from within 100 miles to be as local as possible. When we arrived we were seated much earlier than the anticipated wait time, which was nice. We all ordered different drinks. I ordered the 'A Day in the Park' cocktail which was super refreshing because of the cucumber in it; I would definitely order it again. They also bring casks of water to the table for you. For appetizers we ordered the arancini bites and the bread and oil platter. The arancini were hot, crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside (in short, delicious). I would definitely order it again. I didn't try the bread platter, but my friends said they enjoyed it. For dinner we ended up ordering 4 different pizzas for the group. Myself and one of my friends split the 16" Eggplant Parmesan pizza. It was fantastic. The crust was perfect, there was a great ratio of ingredients and the caramelized onions and basil made it especially tasty. Two other friends split the 16" Meat Lovers, one friend got the 10" Fox Hollow Farm Egg with Italian Bacon and one friend got the 10" Pomodoro. I did not try any of the other pizzas but everyone commented on loving theirs. As far as the service, they were very attentive, all the food came out in a very timely manner and they kept our water cask filled all evening which was great. They also didn't rush us when some of my friends decided to play games in the arcade after eating. We're glad to have had the Bricks open in our neighborhood and will definitely return.

Riley E.

Yelp
Staff is so kind and accommodating. The food is amazing. Whenever we have people visit us from out of town we bring them here!!!

Jessica W.

Yelp
Highly recommend making a reservation! Delicious drinks and great pizza! Staff is awesome, I'm excited to try their pasta next

Dan M.

Yelp
The place is pretty cool inside. Fairly expensive for the amount of pizza you get. The staff is really nice but the pizza is over priced for just decent pizza.

Diane C.

Yelp
Have tried this place 3 times. Each time, the pizza was just meh. Undercooked on the bottom. Toppings just thrown on pie. For the price of a pizza there, you'd think it would be on point each time. Tried talking to manager working, he was not responsive. Will not be back.

Gabriella C.

Yelp
The pizza is really good here!! We ordered takeout and had the antipasto salad and a pizza. The dressing on the salad was super good and the pizza was a delight. We even asked for some hot honey to try and it was very good! They sell it there and may have to take home a bottle one day.

Chris K.

Yelp
Stopped in here recently for some take-out pizza with friends. Ordered online through their website, which was super easy. It had been a busy week, so they could only make 10" pizzas, no 16"s. That was alright, as we just went with a variety of the smaller pies: pepperoni was really nice and solid and classic, the roasted mushroom was delicious, though the eggplant pizza was the star of the show. Veggies were all extremely good. Pizza is more artisan/neopolitan-style than the traditional chain pie or Detroit-style pizza - definitely a unique pizza. We also got some cheese bread and arancini bites, which were both super flavorful and big hits for us. This first experience was a pretty good hit for us, and we'll definitely be back to try more of their offerings.

Dan C.

Yelp
The food, service and atmosphere are the best. Trent and his crew do a great job. See you soon!

A C.

Yelp
When Bricks won a Grosse Pointe News "Best" award we decided to try them. We weren't disappointed. We ordered a large (16") pepperoni pizza for pickup, which was ready in 20 minutes. It had a thin crust with a puffy edge, had the right amount of pepperoni and tasted very good. For two of us, half the pizza was plenty for dinner and we'll enjoy the leftovers the next day. They lose a star because of minor annoyances: (1) Their website photo shows green pepper on the pizza, which we don't care for. So of course we could add a note asking them to remove it? Not on your life, they only accept online orders, there's no place to add a comment, and they accept NO CHANGES in any order, which is stupid. (2) So we phoned the restaurant, and were told the website photo is wrong, there is no green pepper on that pizza. And yes, we are not allowed to make any changes in an order. (3) The online order system told us a pickup time (40 minutes), but when when we paid they changed it to 20 minutes; in no case were we able to choose a pickup time. This is pretty primitive order-taking, they can do better than that. (4) When we picked it up they had trouble finding our order. Perhaps because I gave them my last name and they had filed the order under first names? Since ours was the only one on the counter, it should have been easy to find. Bottom line, we will patronize Bricks again, because the pizza is very tasty, so we can put up with a few annoyances. And since they also have adult beverages, we may book a table next time.

Steve K.

Yelp
Just ok. Really cool ambience, fair drinks, ok pizza. Nothing special on the pizza, especially considering the $$s are fairly steep. Mama Rosa's, Saucy's & Fresh Farms all have MUCH better pizza in my opinion. Service was spotty. It didn't help that we were seated near the back of the restaurant where there was a little girl birthday party occurring in the back room. Still, was hoping for more after all the hype. Might give them another shot, as we like to support local businesses. Maybe they'll improve after they find a groove.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
We have been eagerly awaiting the opening of The Bricks and it did not disappoint! It was terrific! And I don't give out 5-stars often. First, the pizza. Delicious. Fresh, crispy, great sauce. We did the Pomadoro and Italian Sausage. Equally tasty--would order again. All six of us loved it. We also sampled the cheese bread to start (yum) and the antipasto. Everything was wonderful--fresh, flavorful. The hot sauce and honey on the table were nice additions. Our service was great as well--and we were there on a weekend evening. We started off as a party of three, and while we were waiting ran into some friends and asked the hostess to make us a party of six. She was great about it. We had to jump back in the queue but they were very accommodating about getting us in together pretty quickly. Nice. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The decor/ambiance is the icing on the cake. Really beautiful aesthetic-- cozy and unpretentious. Free play on video games? Nice touch ;) We will definitely be back! (and often, I think)

Thomas W.

Yelp
Love this place. Pizza is awesome. Some of my favorite in the area. For this style on Sapinos is better. Well run, good service, overall great place to have in the area. Will continue to eat here regularly

Ruth H.

Yelp
My husband and I had such high hopes but regret to say we will not be returning anytime soon. Our dinner reservation for 4 adults on Friday got us a table in the back room w loud music- but never did we expect to be listening to screaming children in an adjacent video game room. A fine location for parents but a terrible one for senior citizens. It absolutely ruined our evening as we couldn't barely hear one another in conversation. What use is good food when you can't enjoy it ? ? ? PS - Mike was a great waiter

Jessica K.

Yelp
Went here for date night a few months ago and was super pleased with experience. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are, which I appreciate. They're also great with allergies and, unlike many places, don't make you feel bad about asking. I have a few nut allergies and loved that there's nothing in the entire restaurant that has any included. What a relief. We both really enjoyed the cheese bread and our cocktails - I was sorry not to try the dessert options but I'm glad to have a reason to come back. Also, it's very kid friendly - I noticed a large arcade area that was separated from the main restaurant, which was surprisingly not disruptive at all.

Ian S.

Yelp
The best new restaurant that has opened in any of the Grosse Pointes in the last 5 years. Great pizza and a style of pizza, Neapolitan, that is new to this immediate area. Meatball appetizer came out quickly and tasted fresh. My young kids loved the cheese pizza and my wife and I enjoyed our specialty pizza. Original cocktail menu. The arcade is a nice touch and stocked with nostalgic classics like street fighter and Pac-Man. Good atmosphere and nice interior. The patio will be packed. Really attentive service, even on a crowded night. We were there on their 3rd night open, but they were executing everything well. Hard to knock anything here. Excited to go back.

Chris J.

Yelp
Pizza was one of the best. I love thin crispy crust and everything was so very flavorful. The restaurant is spotless, service is excellent, and the ingredients are so very fresh.

Rebecca R.

Yelp
If I had to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life it would be pizza. Not all pizzas are equal. Bricks has good pizza. This location in Grosse Pointe had seen businesses come and go. Nothing has stuck til now. Bonuses: there is patio sitting and the bathroom was clean and the soap in the ladies room is so nicely fragrant

Mexi J.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Ambiance and location is excellent. Stars off for slow service and the toppings not being proportionally distributed on the pizza. Highly recommend the antipasto salad and the tiramisu gelato

Mary B.

Yelp
We brought friends here for their first time, and although the food was good and the wait staff were fine, and we felt relaxed and not rushed to get thru our meals, the ending to our evening was not good. After ordering drinks, apps, dinner and dessert, we eventually received the bill, paid it right away and were all set, taking a few minutes finishing up our conversation when the manager came to the table to ask us if we knew that there was another group waiting for our table, and that they were "pissed". Evidentially we were 20 minutes over our allotted time limit. We were not aware that there are time frames. We were basically being kicked out! We apologized, got up and left and will never go back again.
