"Great bagels are few and far between in Atlanta. So we’re thankful for Bronx Buggy—a Chamblee shop that helps fill the bagel-sized hole in our hearts. A visit to this compact bagel joint usually involves waiting in a line while heat from an oven and sounds of an aggressive meat slicing machine greet you. Everything, from the white- and black-checkered floor to the busy counter-service experience, feels like an NYC bagel deli. They make stellar breakfast sandwiches like the Manhattan—piled high with a fluffy egg patty, swiss cheese, and heaps of thinly shaved pastrami on the kettle-boiled bagel of your choosing. Homemade Pop-Tarts and gigantic blueberry babkas are also winners, but why even visit if you leave without a bagel? photo credit: Sarah Newman photo credit: Sarah Newman photo credit: Sarah Newman Pause Unmute" - Juli Horsford
"Promising to bring NYC-style bagels to Chamblee, the Bronx Bagel Buggy will offer a variety of bagels from chocolate chip to sea salt. And we've already got our eye on the hot honey sriracha cream cheese schmear. " - nina reeder, juli horsford
"I report The Bronx Bagel Buggy, a bagel and bialy pop-up owned by Steven Novotny and Julie Dragich, is now open at the City Center complex on Peachtree Road." - Beth McKibben
"This former pop-up now has a storefront in the center of Chamblee. The bakery puts out fresh New York-style hand-rolled and kettle-boiled bagels and schmear, bagel sandwiches, and bialys Thursday through Sunday. Bagel flavors include everything from rosemary sea salt and cheddar cheese jalapeno to everything, poppyseed, and even beautifully blistered pumpernickel everything. Schmear flavors range from classic to creative such as green olive, garlic scallion, and vegan hot cherry. Try one of the bagel bombs, like the everything filled with plain schmear or the Italian stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil, parmesan cheese, and garlic." - Beth McKibben
"Julie Dragich and Steve Novotny turned their pandemic bagel-making hobby into a full-fledged profession and, after much anticipation, opened their Chamblee shop. Plan on taking your food to go, though there is limited seating, but it’s worth a visit for the chewy bagels and house-made cream cheese and baked goods like babka, muffins, and PopTarts." - Eater Staff, Lia Picard
