Critic Says Señor Bear Is a Pleasant Surprise in LoHi - Eater Denver

"The Bronze Empire is a top spot for Sichuan hot pot in Denver, located in an unassuming strip mall. The restaurant offers a wide variety of fresh ingredients for hot pot and other dishes like fried chicken and calamari. Despite some misses like a flavorless original broth, it earns three out of four stars from Lori Midson." - Camila Navarrette

Love the authentic decor, staff are so attentive and friendly- this is one of my sister’s go to only hotpot place. They have new menu items on top of their skewers for appetizers. Always fresh veggies and fresh selection of meat. The sauce station is extensive with all our family favorites. Our sister in law bachelorette’s get together was here so was many of our family birthday brunches. We’ve been here since they it was a sushi restaurant to regular hot pot to now all you can eat hotpot. Whether you’re a vegetarian, meat lover or in between, you’ll love the hot pot here.

Bronze Empire is hands down one of the best AYCE hot pot spots I’ve tried. The variety is fantastic — from rich and flavorful broth bases (I chose the Tallow Spicy and it was the perfect level of heat) to a huge selection of meats, seafood, veggies, and skewers. The meats were beautifully marbled and perfect for quick dips in the spicy broth. I also loved the shrimp skewers, lotus root, and fried selections — all delicately seasoned. The sesame balls were a nice sweet touch to finish off the meal. The service was fast and attentive despite the weekend rush, and the 90-minute dining limit felt more than fair given the unlimited options. The setup is clean and efficient with personal pots and an induction burner at every seat, so everyone gets the broth they want. If you’re craving hot pot with top-tier ingredients and a generous AYCE format, Bronze Empire delivers on all fronts. It’s what keeps us coming back! We make the drive from Colorado Springs because it’s simply the best!

Honestly, I had such a good time here. The atmosphere is super chill and welcoming, perfect for a date night or hanging out with friends. The lights, music, and overall setup just make it feel really cozy and fun. The service was amazing too. Helen was so friendly and on point the whole time. She made sure we had everything we needed and explained stuff without making it awkward. You can tell she actually care about making sure you have a good experience. And the food? Sooo good. Everything tasted fresh, the broth options were fire, and the meat and veggie choices were solid. It’s one of those meals that’s so satisfying, you already wanna go back the next day. Definitely one of my new go-to spots for hot pot!

Google
This place was awesome. Price is comparable to other Hot Pot places, but the way they care for the customer here is different. The meat comes out on ice so it won't get weird with the temperature change, and everything comes out so fast. Another thing I love is the all you can eat skewers!!! It gives the grilled meat taste that some people miss with the hot pot experience, and they're very good (my bf put away too many to count). Open til 12, we will definitely be back for a late night meal soon!

I had an amazing experience at Bronze Empire enjoying their hot pot! The variety of fresh ingredients and flavorful broths made every bite delightful. The highlight was definitely the attentive service from Alice—she was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend for a fun and delicious meal with great hospitality! PS The skewers KILL!!

Google
Huge selection of additions to your hot pot, served on individual burners at your seat. Fresh meats and veggies, great skewers - especially the steak! Broth is flavorful and hearty. Service was quick and with energy and humor. Looks like it could get very busy at peak times so try early. Great value!

Tonight was our first time visiting The Bronze Empire, and we were very impressed by the quality of the food and service. There are a variety of choices for the all-you-can eat hot pot, and all of them were delicious! I got the sukiyaki soup base, which I really enjoyed, and they also had a DIY sauce station, which was well stocked. Would definitely visit again.

Our third time here and everything was wonderful per usual! The skewers were delicious. Soups were flavorful. Vegetables and meats were fresh. Another wonderful family dinner. Thank you!

Yelp
The Bronze Empire, to my memory, was one of the first if not the first hot pot restaurants that came to Colorado. I am not very familiar with hot pot and what constitutes authenticity for it, but I have been told from multiple friends that they are the real deal. I think I remember them not being an AYCE place a while back but they are now! The service here was great. Even though they were very busy, we were seated quickly and never had to wait on anything. They were also very knowledgable regarding everything on their menu, which is huge, and they made sure to let us know about cook time and how to enjoy everything the best we could. Great job wait staff! The food was also top notch. All the meat and vegetables we ordered tasted fresh and great. They also have multiple types of skewers that were cooked perfectly. The sauce station had a great variety of sauces and toppings too with recommendations on combinations. I would highly recommend getting their passionfruit drink. So good! If you're looking for a hot pot restaurant definitely check out The Bronze Empire.

Yelp
Overall: Standard AYCE hot pot place. What sets them apart are their skewers, but I don't know that I would go out of my way to come here. Food: Lamb skewers were our favorite thing of the meal - great seasoning. Tom yum broth was tasty. The spicy broth had a layer of oil on top which my friend did not enjoy. I thought their meat was slightly higher quality than other ayce hot pot places. Their other items are comparable to other places although Old Town's fuzhou fish balls are better. Service: Friendly and attentive staff. There was no wait for a party of 2 on an early Friday night although the restaurant did seem to approach capacity around 6:30pm. You can make a reservation for parties of 4 or more. Other: Lots of free parking in the plaza. Your first round is marked with pencil on their paper menu but each subsequent round is just verbally asking your server to put additional orders in. The table for 2 feels pretty small but it works out just fine since they have a 3-tier tray to set your hot pot items on. $30 as of 11/2024 which is about the same as other similar places. My dipping sauce recipe at the DIY sauce station: 2 tsp sugar, 1/2 ladle soy sauce, 1/3 ladle black vinegar, 1/2 ladle sacha, 1/2 ladle sesame tahini, 1 tsp minced garlic, chili crisps optional but highly recommended

Yelp
It was fun to try a new all you can eat hot pot location. A while a go, this place use to be priced by the plate. I'm glad they changed to all you can eat. There was 7 of us and we forgot to call ahead so that was our bad. They did put us on a wait so it was about 15/20mins. Besides myself, no one in my party had hot pot before so it was fun to tell them all a little about the process. Our waiter came over and he asked if we had ever been here before. We said no but I did say I've had hot pot before. He then said, just tell me what you want and I'll figure out the portion sizes for you :) We thought that was very helpful! We ordered meat, seafood, noodles, and veggies! I told my friends we had to go to the sauce bar to get sauces to pour into our hot pots :) The first round of meat came out! We all put it into our pots and waited for the rest of the items. Our meat was done cooking so we ate a little but was still waiting for the noodles and veggies. We ended up eating all the meat and finally the veggies and noodles arrived. We then placed a second order for meat. We cooked our noodles and veggies. The seafood still had not arrived and we were still waiting on our second round of meat. We are the noodles so they wouldn't get soggy. Then the seafood and meat arrived. We quickly ordered more noodles and veggies and tried to wait for those to come out before cooking the meat. From then on we figured it would be a while before each selection of food was brought out. I've been to a few hot pot places and know they all do it a little differently but I've never been to a place where you had to eat one portion of food (meat) before the next portion would be brought out (the noodles and veggies). It was a slow process and honestly the price was a little much for the slow service. He also phrased the tipping situation poorly. As he brought the card reader around he said, "a SMALL percent has already been added as a tip and it will ask you if you want to add an additional percent. It's not necessary but greatly appreciated." None of us asked what the preset percentage was and it does not show you until after you select if you want to add an additional percent. When someone says small I think 5/10 percent. So I went ahead and added another 10% to make 15/20 percent (or so I thought). NO! Not the case. It was already set for 20%! I did not think the service was worth 30%. It was good but slow and strange so the normal 20% was fine with me. I was little thrown off when I saw the final bill with 30% tip. I think he should have said the number of the preadded percentage for the tip. 20% is not small, that's normal. I felt mislead just so he could get a bigger payday. Don't know if i will go back honestly.

Yelp
There was initially a miscommunication between my party and I being put on the waitlist versus a reservation so we ended up waiting an extra hour to be seated at a table. Besides that, food was ample and the quality isn't too shabby. The only thing that bothered my party was how messy the sauce station was... it felt like salt bae made it rain all the toppings across the station. Haha.

Yelp
So glad they're busier now with the transition to an AYCE model that includes skewers. Their soup bases have always been tasty & ingredients fresh. It was just super pricey to be paying $6 for a couple ounces of veggies. Now that they're AYCE, you're definitely getting your $$ worth. They don't do BBQ so it's not smoky at all. We didn't smell like a restaurant when we got home. We'll have to put this in our regular rotation.

Yelp
10/10 experience!!!! $30 for AYCE hot pot? Say less. What really sets Bronze Empire apart is that grilled skewers are included in the AYCE, which makes for a perfect appetizer! They have a full bar and gave me a nice hefty pour of sake, which I certainly appreciated. The service was top notch, fast, and eager to keep our table clear. The sauce bar was what dreams are made of, and I couldn't help myself from trying all kinds of new concoctions. This is absolutely my new go to hot pot spot!

Yelp
I really wish Yelp will let me do half stars because I'll give The Bronze Empire a solid 3.5. Food: The broth I had (I think it's chicken with fish maw) was very bland. Don't taste like anything, and I had to add a bunch of salt to make it tasty. Their kobe beef was good, but pork was a-ok. Veggies are fine, but everything was kinda expensive. Service: This is why I wanted to bump them into 3.5 stars. Service was good, attentive, nothing to complain about. Ambiance: Relatively clean Chinese restaurant. I've learned a long ago to not expect a nice ambiance if I want to eat Chinese food, lol So with that expectation, this place actually seemed pretty clean.

Yelp
Went to try their all you can eat. Price: $30 per person. Waited for 20 minutes for a table of 2. We ordered the Authentic Spicy soup base and the Authentic Sichuan soup base, but we didn't notice much of a difference between the 2 soup base. Each meat order came in 8 slices and the other dishes came in about 4 pieces. What makes this place different than other hot pot is their skewers. Each skewer comes in 1 piece only so would recommend ordering a few at a time. Also the food presentation makes it more appetizing. However, service was pretty slow. Didn't refill water or the soup. They did have a full house. They ran out of the lamb skewers and clams by 8pm. The lanterns added a nice vibe.

Yelp
Nice place to chow down. I think most people come here for the hot pots. They also have a selection of non-hot pot dishes. For the hot pot, you select the broth base, then select any additions (meats, vegetables, etc). When they come out, you basically cook it in your individual pot. It's a fun experience, especially if you've never done it before. Each addition costs money, but they can range from a few dollars to more expensive. It's a good way to create your own meal. The service is very good, very attentive. Also, if you're ever confused they do a good job of explaining the process. Also, they offer free refills of the broth.

Yelp
Several broths to choose from. Good spacing between tables. Excellent value. Presentation and variety of hot pot items was very good. Skewers were part of the single price, 90 minute limit dining cost. The skewers were excellent. If my first time experience is par for the course, I'll be a regular.

Yelp
Saw this place now offered AYCE hot pot and decided to give it a try. Had the option to make a reservation for 7:45 pm for a party of three about 20 minutes before making it to the restaurant. Made the reservation and still had to wait for the people that were there waiting to be seated before we did. The guy (host) who checked us in tried coming up with some excuse about our reservation but it just felt like it was ignored. He confirmed he had our reservation and essentially said we should had made a reservation for later and that the wait time would be another 15 minutes. As a business, if they cannot honor their online reservation services they should not offer it OR extend reservation wait times. He was very unapologetic and kept telling us that it wasn't the restaurants fault our reservation was not ready, definitely did not appreciate him belittling us and we still decided to wait. 10 minutes later, more or less, we were finally seated. However he did not speak with us, he whistled and gestured us to follow him without a single word spoken. First time impressions and experience were already ruined at that point as first timers to this restaurant. It took another 20-30 minutes to finally get some of the food we ordered. Food rollout was slow, could have been because they were short on staff. Placing additional orders of anything was definitely difficult and would take a good 20 minutes to arrive after ordering. Was not even 9:00 PM and they ran out of rice cakes AND rice. Our waitress told us to make sure the hotplate was on the highest setting so the food can cook. This was not our first time at hot pot but we quickly realized why she had told us to keep it on high. The broth took a good 45 minutes for it to come to a boil. Which was not a big deal since getting the food was taking a while. Honestly the food was good. Their offerings were great and skewers had a unique taste. The lamb skewer was delicious! Unfortunately, the service and overall experience ruined the chances of returning or even recommending this place to someone. Hospitality or friendliness were definitely not a part of the menu.

Yelp
First time here and was craving hot pot. Took my kiddo for their first time. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the tables have individual hot pot stations which is not what I'm used to- this works well for those that don't want to share! We had the vegetarian mushroom broth and the miso broth with fired tofu, shrimp, lotus root, ramen noodles and fry bread. The sauces that you get to choose are on their own station. Our food was delicious and I love how you can cater it to your own tastes!

Yelp
The service here is top notch. Everytime we come in everyone is so attentive. The food is delicious. It is expensive so not an everyday restaurant. I love the ambiance and presentation of the food!

Yelp
My first two experiences here were good but the most recent experience on February 16 was so bad I will never return. We experienced the same issues that others noted in that the service was very slow and we had to ask for things multiple times and yet we were told that there was a limit on how long we could stay and were given a "last call" for food items before we were done eating. When we got the bok choy, it had bugs crawling all over it and so we let the server know and she just said OK and took it away. The service was truly terrible and rude. And how can you have a time limit if your service is slow and you can't even get your food delivered and cooked within that amount of time? It's also a problem that it takes so long for the pot to boil. And what made the experience even worse was that the server didn't tell us that an 18% tip/service fee was already included, she didn't provide an itemized receipt, and when the card was run, she turned the device to us with the screen prompting a 20% tip. I'm happy to tip 20%. But we ended up tipping almost 40% for terrible service. I am absolutely dumbfounded by how awful this experience was. I highly recommend going to Aki Asian Hot Pot instead. Aki is superior in every way!

Yelp
Food is great, AYCE skewers are delicious and hot pot items are fresh. Not the cheapest AYCE hot pot in town but definitely has some unique items and a more trendy atmosphere. Rating would be higher if not for one of the hosts. I've gone twice now where he was rude, impatient, and angry. Both nights were quite busy, and as a fellow service industry worker, I can empathize with the stress of working a chaotic night. But the first time, my partner and I walked in, and there were only two other people who were already settled by the bar, waiting on the rest of their party. He completely ignored us, staring down at his tablet, for at least five minutes (I ended up looking at my clock) while we waited in front of him for an estimated wait time. No acknowledgment of his silence when he finally looked up, huffed, and told us it would be 45 minutes. We left and ate elsewhere. The second time, I returned with a friend who's not local to Denver. We put ourselves on the waitlist despite it being a 45-60 min wait and left our number, before retreating to the bar area where it was quieter to talk. An hour later, he stormed up to us and yelled at us, "I CALLED YOUR PHONE TWICE, why didn't you pick up?" before showing us that he'd skipped us for people who arrived later. He huffed impatiently and told us we'd have to continue waiting. I looked at my call logs - he had called me two minutes before that incident, then called another table, then called me a minute later, and then skipped to another table. Never once did he scan the waiting area or call out any names into the room. We were mildly upset by the error because we waited another 30 min, but it was more upsetting to be yelled at for his error. I again can empathize with mistakes happening in a stressful work environment but there was no need to be mean. He mostly ignored us when he walked us up to our table afterwards. The food was delicious (we were also starving), but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
I was excited to go to Bronze Empire again since they've changed to all you can eat even though it's a bit more expensive than our favorite hot pot restaurant. I was disappointed by the service and quality of food. The seafood has a fishy flavor. The bok choy was full of insects. We had to ask many times for multiple parts of our order. Some things never came. They put a time limit on your table but hot pot is a slower dining experience even with prompt service, which we didn't receive. Finally, tip was pre-added to the bill which I realized afterwards so I paid a 40% tip. The broth was flavorful and the best part, but I did have to ask 3 times for it to be topped up as most of it had boiled off.

Yelp
Arrived around 6 this evening. We were seated right away. The place is quiet and nice that I can hear everyone in my table talking. We ordered the vegetable combo, mushroom combo, tofu combo, & seafood combo. I had the original broth and it was perfect. Vegetables and seafood were very fresh and the brisket was good quality. Everything was delicious. The best part of this dining experience was the service. The server was ver attentive. She Came to refill each of our pot with broth when she saw that we are running low. She was always smiling and gave us her review of some of the dishes and she was right in all of them. We couldnt finish everything we ordered. I asked her for to go boxes and she packed them herself. She even gave me more broth to take home. This place will definitely be a place to go to more than once. Especially, if my daughter treats again.

Yelp
FINALLY, The Bronze Empire is offering AYCE to try and compete with their competitors!!!! $29.99 per adult plus AYCE skewers! One of the first hotpot spots in Denver but was not AYCE. They knew they had to do something with all the new (and old) AYCE hotpot spots opening in order to stay afloat. Let's be honest, you're not gonna go to a hotpot spot if it's not all you can eat... just saying. Wait time wasn't too bad around dinner time on a Saturday. About 25 minutes. Was seated and greeted right away by our kind server. They do not have as much selections as other surrounding hotpot spots, but they had the usual popular items and the basics. Sauce selection was limited as well, but they had the basics. Broth selection was good and was also delicious. Meats and seafood were fresh. Can't complain too much, will be back as long as they will offer the AYCE special!

Yelp
I've never been to a Hot Pot (Shabu Shabu) restaurant where I'm the only Asian, so I was skeptical at first. lol To my surprise it was very good! The restaurant is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The choices of meats & seafood were plentiful, except they were out of Wagyu and a couple of other higher-end meats. Vegetables were fresh, broth selection was good, although I shouldn't have selected the Miso, I prefer the clearer broths, less salty. Unlike traditional Japanese style Hot Pot, where they only dip is Ponzu or Goma (Sesame) taré (sauce), Chinese style uses a variety of sauces, which I liked. Our server was nice, he came around to make sure we were doing ok and that we had enough food and broth. I liked their Scallion pancakes- light and flaky! Make sure to get an order:) Price-wise, it's not AYCE, so it can get a little pricey.

Yelp
Heard about how great this place, so I was surprised to see how dead this place. But I understand how hot this summer is and no one wants hotpot. But I do! Yhe sauce area is very limited to other places but I did like that they had your sauce recipes you can try and follow. The service was as good as can be. Felt like if your not Chinese, there's a language barrier- she had a hard time describing things we asked about like the clams- when the clams came out, it was not what we wanted at all. So maybe if they had more pictures of the items it would be helpful. I tried their spicest broth, the spicy butter- it wasn't spice but it had good flavors. The chicken fried rice was very bland, last a lot of seasoning. The appetizer tripe was tossed in just spicy oil- wasn't what I expected but it was okay- needed more. Maybe some crunch or the tripe should of been deep friend or seared, but needed some more seasoning. What makes this place stick out compared to the all you can eat hot pot places is their cut of meat is better quality. You can taste how good the different cuts are. This place is really good and great for a date night but be prepared to spend some money. Everything is a la cart and over ordering will happen. They do offer a combo package for the mushrooms and veggies but I think they should do one with some meats and seafood as well or a combo with a little bit of everything from each column so you can experience a little bit of everything.

Yelp
This place has fallen off! I'm just so disappointed. My family and I have been coming here since 2018. I've always been such a supporter because their food used to be top notch even with the price. However, when I came here tonight I found it severely lacking. First off, the lighting was SO dark, my sisters and I had to use our flashlights to see if our food was cooked or not. Second of all, my Original pot tasted like water. Literal water. For $6 a pot, I should not be drinking a bland soup. The service was fine. Nothing bad nothing good. Won't be coming back for sure. I think if you're looking for good hot pot that's worth the price, there are a couple in Aurora that are cheaper and way yummier. Sad.

Yelp
We did a large group family birthday dinner here and the staff did an amazing job with the dessert and birthday celebration. This is such a fun restaurant for special occasions or just a weeknight dinner for two. The food is fantastic, and I loved the way we could share a lot of the ingredients. The staff are wonderful.

Yelp
Let's feast! We dined at The Bronze Empire this week for dinner and had our first authentic Chinese Hot Pot experience; we absolutely loved it and this was the perfect stop for a chilly night. We arrived at The Bronze Empire and were seated at a booth in the main dining room. The aesthetic of the restaurant was warm and inviting with tans and reds throughout the space and Chinese inspired artwork livening up the walls. Each table had designated hot pot burners in order to cook whichever hot pot customers selected. General Manager Kay was awesome and ensured our meal ran smoothly. The place was packed and Kay kept his energy and positivity high while running the host stand and being active throughout the restaurant. Our server Kelly was darling & she was so knowledgeable on the menu. We had no idea on what to order and Kelly created our whole meal for us based on her recommendations and our preferences when it came to spice. I started off the meal with a Jasmine Honey Tea and Ross had the Hot Jasmine Tea. The Jasmine Honey Tea was served cold over ice. It was sweet and the jasmine flavor combined smoothly with the honey glaze - I loved it. For our Hot Pot soup base - I had the Tom Yum Pot and Ross had the Authentic Sichuan Pot. Kelly explained that the Tom Yum Pot was Bronze Empire's most popular with mild spice while the Authentic Sichuan Pot had more of a spicy kick to it (Ross loves spice). Our Hot Pot Soup bases were brought out and set on our tables burners to heat up. The Tom Yum Hot Pot had distinct hot & sour flavors. It was sour upfront with lime and salty fish sauce & crushed red chili peppers came out in flavor on the back end. The broth was made with fresh herbs and ingredients like kaffir leaves & lemongrass. Kelly recommended everything that went into our hot pots. For our Traditional Dish we had the Shrimp Paste. For Protein we had half an order of Japanese A5 Wagyu Beef and half an order of Kobe Beef. For Mushrooms we had the Enoki Mushrooms. For Vegetables we had Baby Bok Choy, Sweet Corn, Pumpkin and Potato. For Noodles we had Udon & Rice Noodles. Once our hot pots came to a boil, we made our additions. Kelly added the shrimp paste into our pots and then we began adding the mushrooms, vegetables & noodles. We let those cook for about 7 minutes and then added the meat which we cooked for about 45 seconds. Once everything was cooked, we scooped out our hot pot contents into a bowl. Then we added a peanut sauce Kelly had made for us as the sauce station. It was time to feast. All of the ingredients made for stellar hot pots that were steaming with goodness. My favorites were the A5 Wagyu Beef, Sweet Corn & Udon Noodles. The A5 Wagyu was rich and tender. The sweet corn was crunchy and full of Tom Yum flavor. The Udon noodles had a slightly sweet taste and a chewy texture. Ross' favorites were the Kobe Beef, Baby Bok Choy and Mushrooms. For dessert, Kay brought us out Black & Gold Lava Cakes straight from China. The Bronze Empire is the only place where you can get Black & Gold Lava Cakes in Denver. These chewy dessert balls had an outer consistency comparable to a bao bun and were filled with a hot sugary, gooey coconut custard. So freaking good and my mouth is watering just thinking of them.

Yelp
Yessss. If you're in the mood for authentic and delicious Sichuan cuisine, the Bronze Empire is the place to go! My friend and I came here recently for a dinner date, and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service we received. (Also plenty of parking in the lot right out front in this strip mall.) Our waitress was great at walking us through the menu and offering recommendations on how much food to order. I ended up getting the Sichuan soup base and added in brisket, mushrooms, and udon noodles. SO good!! Price is a bit higher than most casual dinner spots, but it's definitely worth the treat occassionally. And if you're into mixing your own hot pot dipping sauce, the far corner of the restaurant has tons of options with recipe recommendations posted on the wall. Overall I had a positive experience here and will likely be back in the future.

She even told us : you guys need waiting 45 minutes , if you don't want wait , then get out of here ! ( 她说不等就滚蛋) My goodness. who gave her the courage to talk to customer like this ?? We strongly request the boss fire this lady. Boss -- Read yours review , how many customers complain her ?? Alice -- you are not suitable for the services.. Super rude with customers

Yelp
This is my favorite hot spot in the area. The food quality is always fresh and high compared to many cheaper places around. The broth options are also very deliciously rich and filled with flavor. I really love the DIY sauce bar, again higher in quality and flavor, than cheaper hot pot spots around. I prefer the Tom Yum and Szechuan Butter broths the most. Savory, creamy, and balanced flavors. In terms of items, I love the flounder and potato noodles. The environment is always clean, and staff is typically very fast and friendly. They refill your broth with hot water if your pot is running low, which is a nice service. But I never really need to because I don't like to do dilute the flavor. But also, they're very generous with the broth amount. I am able to lot of the broth at the restaurant, and I am able take more broth home! The parking is plenty, at a plaza with other shops and restaurants. Great spot!

Yelp
We came here with a few friends for dinner and it took us sometime to get seated because of how full this place was. So be sure to make a reservation specially if you have plans coming here on a Friday or Saturday evening. Got the original spicy pot and it has a hint of schezuan - it was good spicy! We tried a bunch of sake here and I only recommend their hot sake. Service was great considering we were a bigger group. Recommend this for their hot pot

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday here with my family because they are absolutely the best hotpot in Denver. No doubt highest quality, but I also check the health inspections and they are great here and a shining beacon compared to other hotpot places. Service is always excellent and friendly. They treated my family and I like VIP.

Yelp
Loved the food and atmosphere. Good place to go when you are allergic to turkey on Thanksgiving. Another restaurant recommended them as they were not open on Thanksgiving. Very good staff, service and food!

Yelp
Expensive hot pot, but quality and service are great. They give out individual hot pots for each broth ordered, and there is a self-serve assortment (not pictured) of dipping sauces and ancillary ingredients such as garlic and cilantro. I really enjoyed the cold, spicy tripe in the appetizer menu. It was extremely flavorful and with a good balance of spices. The broths were also good and flavorful, albeit on the saltier end. The only item I probably wouldn't order again simply because of preference is the shrimp paste and yum noodle. The yum noodles taste similar to glass noodles but have a "bouncier" texture vs. chewy tecture.

Yelp
A nice casual experience. The server was very helpful and pleasant with our large group. Fresh meats and vegetables with flavorful broth options made our whole family happy. When I'm back in Denver I'll be back

Yelp
The server was thoughtful and considerate, he helped us order and packed up all our yummy leftovers. It smelled wonderful as we entered. The food was fantastic and decorative in it's display. I had never had hot pot before, but this was a ton of fun. I would absolutely do it again.

Yelp
What a great surprising find for hot pot in a strip mall. Great for kids/families/large groups, quality food, great prices, and friendly staff. We hear through some friends about the place, otherwise I don't think we'd have ever found it or been confident enough based on appearances/location to believe it'd be this solid. Vibe and atmosphere was modern meets traditional. The lighting was a little dim but plenty of windows and nice accents. They've done as well as could be expected for a strip mall area. The furniture is solid, things are well-spaced, and it's a pretty large place. Nice to have some waiting area, and the mixer/side dipping-sauce area is pretty large and allows for a good 4-5 people at a time making up their bowls. Service was very good. Our waitress/host was frequently checking in on us, asking questions, quick to advise when we wanted, and cautioning us on things for the kids. They were able to be creative with some of the food options and highlight some things that would be workable with our families as we had a large group. They were totally accommodating and didn't mind some spills and food messiness on the table that come with having young children there. Food was excellent. I'm very surprised and glad for the quality of the meats, vegetables, and some of the rare selections and options. Unlike some hot pot restaurants, the seafood and high-fat beef listings were authentic and true. The lit-up lamb and steak arrangement was unique and fun. It felt like the equivalent of the stares and oooo's and aaahhh's people get when fajitas come out at Mexican restaurants. Lots of envy and curiosity from surrounding tables. The mixed mushroom and vegetable plates were large and fun. The presentation was on point too which isn't as common at hot pot restaurants. The menu is huge so be prepared! Drinks were mostly standard fare. They had some good sake options and nice beers both local and east Asian. Price here was the icing on the cake -- so inexpensive for the meal. While hot pot is often an economical choice, the pairing of the fun experience, attentive care, quality food, and seer volume of food we ordered was very welcome. We'll definitely come back when we next visit Denver.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants! Service is great and the options are wonderful. If you're with someone who doesn't want to do hot pot they have fried rice and other options. Make sure you give yourself time to enjoy hot pot, this isn't something to rush. Great ambiance, always enjoy the music and decor.

Yelp
For the first time in the US the scallion pancake I ordered was made correctly. I'm floored. It was light and crisp and beautiful rather than dense. Hot pot is something I've only ever eaten in Bangkok, so I wasn't sure what to expect here. While the restaurant has the misfortune of not incorporating robot kitty servers that meow when they change direction /stop before bumping into you, the human server was quite good. Maybe he was also a robot kitty in great disguise. The food itself was just like I wanted, the only critical note I have is to maybe slice the lotus a little less thick, it remained crunchy and hard even towards the end of the meal. I used TONS OF GARLIC from the sauce and toppings bar, just like in BKK. It was really good.

Yelp
I am new to hot pot and have been to two other places in the Denver Metro area. The food was so fresh, I mainly had the thinly shaved ribeye and an overabundance of the shrimp skewers along with all the veges. Our waitperson was Alice who went above and beyond making my first experience at Bronze Empire so wonderful. I will definitely be back and ask for her.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner tonight! Really love the new all you can eat concept. Alice was our server and she was so kind and helpful. We will be back soon for sure.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Our server was so helpful and guiding us to which ingredients we should order for our hot pots. Also steered us over to the toppings bar where we made our own concoctions to stir into our soups. The broth was delicious in fact my nine-year-old grandson told the servers it was the most amazing broth he's ever had. We put wagyu beef, tofu, veggies, egg, mushrooms to make a free. Fun experience. No MSG which is important for me. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We walked in on a sat night, around 8pm and they managed to get us a table. Thank you for the kind server that got us. This is not your typical hot pot menu or AYCE. You choose your broth, they'll give you a small pot and then all other things are mostly à la carte. For food I'd recommend the kobe and wagyu beef, the seafood combo and the mushroom combo. They don't have many choice and each portion is around 2-3 ppl / size. The reason I put in 4 stars because they were so full they forgot our second round order. Overall the food was good. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Overall: 4.25/5

Yelp
After bringing multiple Chinese Born Chinese visitors to The Bronze Empire, they all agree the soup base is legit here, the seasoning is probably imported from the Middle Kingdom or PRC. Alice, our friendly server took a few minutes to take our order due to understaff but she was very professional and checked on us multiple times. Soup Base: I usually get "Herbal" but this last time I got "Authentic Butter Pot (beef broth)" it was 8/10 for spice level so be careful ordering this. It's damn numbing good but you might receive a gut bomb later. Appetizer: during pandemic hotpot was not a big seller so TBE had to add Chinese dishes onto the menu for takeout. Most of these dishes are off menu now but they kept "Cold Chile Sauce Chicken" 口水鸡 aka mouth watering chicken. Highly recommend. Sichuan Cuisine is located in southwest china where it sits on the foothills of western mountains similar to Colorado. The signature Sichuan hotpot is "Mao Du" hotpot which is beef tripe listed on the menu as "Premium Tripe". If you don't fancy meats, here are some of my vegetarian favorites that I order every time: Fried Bread Stick 油条, black fungus (mushroom), Tong Hong, lotus root, taro, and fried rice cake for dessert. TBE is not AYCE buffet hot pot nor do I want them to be. The older I get, I prefer quality over quantity. Aloha.

Yelp
Words cannot encompass my love for hot pot! Recently I had the pleasure of trying out Bronze Empire with a group of friends for a bachelorette party and we had the absolute best time! I love the DIY aspect of Hot Pot- you get to completely customize your own meal by choosing your broth- they offer numerous tasty soup bases like Authentic Sichuan Pot, Korean kimchi Pot, Japanese Miso Pot, Tom Yum Pot and many more. You then chose the meats and veggies that you want in your pot and go to town! I ordered the Authentic Sichuan Pot and was so impressed by the depth of flavor- we ordered a variety of meats for the table to add in as well. Bronze Empire offers a topping station where you can choose from a number of fresh ingredients to create your one dipping sauce or sauce to add to your Hot Pot. The offer fresh garlic, ginger, chili flake, sesame oil. tahini, herbs and many more options! Overall, I'm so impressed by Bronze Empire and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The food and service at this place is top notch. My family and I were visiting during the holidays and were in dire need for a hot pot place. Luckily we found the Bronze Empire. We did an online booking and they seated us immediately upon arrival. We ordered several portions of the brisket, lamb, and ribeye. We also ordered multiple Sichuan and Tom yum broths. Absolutely delicious. I have been to many hot pot places in NYC, LA, and SF and I have to say that this establishment is among the best. For those that do not know what mixture of sauces to get, this place has multiple recipes they recommend. It was perfect for my some of my family members who do not usually mix sauces. Overall, I will definitely be coming again if I'm ever in town and craving hot pot.

Yelp
Eat with one chopstick, cook three meals in two rounds, have fun and become famous all over the world, with all five flavors. The Six Emotions Connected and the Seven Immortals congratulate all directions, and the fragrance can be heard in the sky. It is perfect. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

Yelp
This place is yummy but kind of expensive. Had the crispy pork and Kobe beef which were both delicious.

Yelp
Thought this place was ok. Cons: -found a fly in our veggies -soup bases are mediocre ( I liked Tom yum the most) -veggie combo was way overpriced for the amount you get! $16 for that tiny thing... really?! Pros: -sauce bar! -meats were decent

Yelp
My husband and I have been craving hot pot for quite a while and so we did some research to find the go-to spot. The Bronze Empire seemed to be it and I can tell you it did not disappoint. I've said before, food and ambience can only get you so far in my book, you need awesome service to get that fifth star and we had it! Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and gave us his expert advice. My husband wondered if we over-ordered if we could take the rest home, to which is responded, not only could we (because they are not an all-you-can-eat place), but he would also top off our broth when we left, so that we could properly enjoy our left-overs - how about that?! I had my left-overs for not one, but two lunches - awesome! The selection of ingredients is excellent and fill up we did. Crab sticks soak up the broth so well and the mushroom combo was delicious along with all of the other veggies and proteins that we ordered - oh, and I enjoyed trying "yum noodles" for the first time that come tied in knots and have an interesting texture. I had the Tom Yum broth and he had the Szechuan - which is another thing I liked. We could order our own personal broths, rather than settling on one. All-around, this place is fantastic and we will be recommending it to our friends!

Yelp
Definitely a great place for some authentic Chinese hot pot to warm the tummies during the cold season. I highly recommend- you will get your own burner and pot then choose the broth of your choice and put in premium meat or seafood and fresh vegetables. All the staffs are super friendly and will go above and beyond to make sure you're happy and full. It is a fun experience with a group of friends for any occasions.

Yelp
This was our hot pot experience and we came as a birthday celebration. The restaurant is a quaint place and the staff was very helpful with how to order and the recommended portion sizes. It also was buy one get one for beer and Saki so it was a perfect addition to the celebration. We all had a great time and the star rating would be between 3-4 for my own personal food preference. I got the original hot pot flavor and just didn't think it had much flavor to it. For anybody that does enjoy hot pot, I think this would be great place to check out.
