"I see why The Bronze Empire has become an addiction: its Sichuan hot pot is, in my view, the best in the city, with a huge syllabus of fresh ingredients to swish through your pot of broth. Chef Jason Ye’s non-hot-pot offerings — including perfectly crisp fried chicken and calamari — are also worth exploring, though I found the original broth flavorless and the fried rice “child’s play.” I award the restaurant three out of four stars and advise diners to go with friends, be daring, order as much as you can stomach, embrace chiles, and take full advantage of the condiment and sauce bar." - Camila Navarrette
