The Best Restaurants in Deptford, South East London | Eater London

"A 19th Century corner pub with a sizeable beer garden, the venue serves an à la carte menu during the week, but the Sunday roast is the main draw. Expect the likes of roast sirloin cooked medium-rare, superlative roast potatoes, horseradish cream, cabbage aggressed by lashings of butter and dreamy fondant carrots. Moreover, the pub’s reasonable line up of draught beers includes selections from Camden Town brewery and the local Meantime." - Jonathan Hatchman

We’ve stayed at The Brookmill a few times now and it truly feels like a home away from home. The staff are wonderful and make you feel so genuinely welcome. At Christmas it becomes something really special. The perfect UK Christmas vibes you want - magical, cosy, and beautifully festive. It’s one of those places you will always look forward to coming back to. Thank you

The bar has a modern, dimly lit interior with leather stools and a long counter—pleasant without being flashy. I tried the classic Old Fashioned and a house gin fizz. The Old Fashioned was balanced, with a smooth whiskey base and the right amount of bitters. The gin fizz was light and citrusy, though the foam settled quickly. Both were served promptly. Cocktails were priced at £10–£12 each, which is standard for the area. The bartender was knowledgeable and mixed drinks efficiently, but conversation was minimal. It’s a decent spot for a relaxed cocktail if you’re nearby. No standout moments, but everything was solid. I’d return for another round.

Surprisingly, this turned out to be a really great pub. I honestly didn’t expect to find a decent one in my area, but on a hot day I stopped by for a meal and was impressed. The staff were wonderful - extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. They answered all my questions and gave excellent service. Big thumbs up to them. The food was also excellent. The burger was juicy and full of flavor, one of the best I’ve had in a while. I’m very glad I discovered this place and will definitely come back. Dog friendly.

It's a scabby area, no mistake but this pub stands out as welcoming. It has a pleasant atmosphere and helpful, humorous bar staff. The food looks good. Frankly, it could do with a huge tidy up. A proper clean and decorate. That said, it's still better than alternatives.

The Sunday lunch is outstanding - big portions and good value for money. Service great. Would definitely recommend. I would have posted a photo but I’ve eaten my meal already!

We frequently come here for food and events. Most of the time it’s a great evening out. Recently they have had live acts which includes community performances, which have been great including the Catapella Choir which was great to hear so many voices from area. They have a great drink selection including discounted cocktails. They have good nights like Steak and Chips for £10 on Thursday, and 2 burgers for the price of 1. They have a great big outside area too. Would definitely come back again and again. They also have their own loyalty card too.

Great pub, great rooms Easy check in and check out. Stayed for 2 nights. Comfortable and clean. Perfect for what we needed, stayed in room 1, was quiet at night, fan available, tea/coffee refilled, good shower. Would stay again! 10/10 would recommend

Really nice room above a very pleasant pub.||The room was spotless, the bed was comfy, nice bathroom with piping hot water (the last hotel I stayed in it was only tepid so I noticed this!), kettle for tea/coffee and some snacks. ||The pub itself was lovely;y: very friendly, nice selection of beers & wines. I was only there for one night avd arrived late s dud not get too. much chance to appreciate it, but it seemed like a pub I'd cheerfully goo to, acd the menu looked nice. ||The location is mixed. It is a very pleasant London street, loads of terraced houses, a park nearby. Five minutes from DLR. I was going to Excell (near Canar Wharf) so it was ideal - I would definitely recommend it if you are near Docklands. But be warned this is a long way from the West End or touristy London ||The price is amazing considering it ids London avd the quality. As I say, if I'm going to Docxklands I'd definitely stay again, but for West End it is perhaps too remote.

Yelp
Really nice pub. My first time in considering I live locally. It is not noisy. That bares mentioning because I've had enough of music blaring from eateries & disturbing the peace. It's a rustic decor & feels cosy. I like the spacing of tables too. Toilets are in very good order; always a good indicator of the overall hygiene of the place. Food was so good. We had the haddock fishcake & chicken wing skewers to start. My fav were the wings & the spicy, delicious sauce that accompanied them. Wish I had some now. Went for the classic burger and the salmon. Both get 2 yums up. The burger was cooked beautifully medium & nothing more was needed, not even salt or pepper; the accompaniments were great. Service with a smile & no hovering around. Yes, really nice pub. I'll be back!

Yelp
Totally a fan of this place. Listing the reasons: - solid food ( I mean we were surprised with the options and quality) - dog friendly, which is huge on a cold night - great atmosphere - solid brews and cocktails - friendly and accommodating The only thing I'd say they could on is the reservation structure. In the bar area, we were told there were open tables but almost all were reserved, and marked in a not so obvious way. I think pubs in particular should always have a free-sitting area for those who amble in, but that's just me. We had to move around a few times in order to eat.

Yelp
Very warm, newly refurbed bar with lots of character, striped wood floors, painted church pews. Luxurious and great attention to detail. Nice selection of draft ales, ciders and beers and it's worth having a glass of wine just for the glass! Cocktails on offer, but I cannot comment on quality of these... Good prices. Great place to snug away from the rain with friends.
