Went to the Brookmill to eat for the first time in ages last night.
It happened to be ‘steak night’ so that made it an easy choice for me, choosing from the full menu would have been more tricky as the selection on offer is extensive and I would imagine anyone would have trouble choosing what to have.
The steak was cooked exactly how I like it and was accompanied by the usual salad and chips (big and chunky, perfect with a steak) and I added a side of onion rings (big and crispy), mushrooms and peppercorn sauce (clearly made from scratch with love) - top marks to the chef.
Despite there being a function on upstairs, so the pub was busier than usual, the service was relatively prompt and very friendly.
Of particular note was the young lady serving, she noticed we had our dog and could see we were looking for a table immediately came over to let us know there was a small area where dogs weren’t allowed but anywhere else was fine - I imagine the restricted area was because it was the route in and out of the kitchen.
All in all a very pleasant evening out, we will be back and will have to try hard not to make it ‘steak night’ so I can try some of the other options - maybe even one of the 6 or so burgers on offer.
