The 20 Best Restaurants In Culver City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"When a sushi restaurant starts expanding around LA, you might worry quality will suffer. That’s not the case with Brothers. This Valley sushi spot has a sizeable third location in downtown Culver, which is easily the neighborhood’s best raw fish option. Dinner can get spendy (the 15-course omakase runs $160 per person), but there’s also an a la carte menu with hot and cold dishes that keeps prices manageable. At lunch, expect specials like five nigiri and a spicy tuna roll for $30, or a loaded chirashi bowl with ten kinds of premium fish for $55." - brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder, cathy park

The 16 Best Restaurants Lunch In Culver City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This Valley sushi spot's latest expansion is a location in downtown Culver City, which immediately became the neighborhood’s best raw fish option when it opened. The dinner omakase can get spendy, which is why we prefer lunch, when they roll out specials like five nigiri and a spicy tuna roll for $28, or a fully loaded chirashi bowl for $55. That’s not cheap for a solo lunch, but for a treat-yourself moment, ten kinds of premium fish—including dry-aged toro, shrimp, scallop, amberjack, and uni—over warm sushi rice is worth every penny. It’s also a large space with plenty of tables, in the event your co-workers want to tag along." - nikko duren, brant cox

The Brothers Sushi Review - Woodland Hills - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"With seasoned sushi rice, 15 types of seafood, plus a side of miso soup and salad, the premium chirashi at The Brothers Sushi is the culinary equivalent of a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado, or this scene from Mamma Mia: 2 Here We Go Again. In other words, an instant classic. There’s a heavy emphasis on rich, fatty toro sashimi here—thick, marbled cuts of ahi that melt in your mouth. The bright-orange uni is firm, but bursts with umami, and glistening scallops contain both sweet meat and a delicate texture. Plus, the rice is separated out into its own container, so its heat won’t cook the raw fish, and is garnished with furikake, tsukemono pickles, plus a few slices of tamago. It’s a stand-out dish that we’d happily eat on its own, any day of the week." - Kat Hong

I discovered this restaurant via INKIND app and got a 20% discount + a $25 birthday credit. The two of us arrived earlier and shared these dishes: -Yellowtail collar. Good portions. -Salmon skin salad. Very generous with the crispy salmon skins! -Shrimp tempura (2 shrimps +veges) -Truffle fries. Look at those big homecuts pieces. I think it was a special potato, not the usual American fries. -Unagi (eel) roll -Uni appetizer -Sake. Very, very good. Then I had the 5 piece chef's choice sushi. Remember, no sauce for chef's specials. They already add everything to enhance the nigiri. Just put the whole piece in your mouth and experience the complex textures and flavors. I thought the 5-piece was a very good deal. Plus 2 orders of nigiri. I had to try the dry-aged sashimi/nigiri. The "dry-aged otoro" was very, very good. More intense flavor. And the sea bream had a nice smokey flavor (perfectly torched!) Overall, very, very good. Consistently located next to Trader Joe's. Park at the TJ's public parking structure. They also offer an omakase meal for $160, with or with sake pairing (+$40.) Maybe next time.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. Decided to go all-out and try the omakase meal. Lots of delicious dishes with unique tastes and textures. The only part I forgot to photograph was the soup, which was clam miso soup. I can’t say I loved every piece of fish, but I’m glad we tried it anyway as we never would have tasted this food otherwise. Altogether the meal was filling and the service was top notch. Would recommend if you have a thick wallet.

Google
I am absolutely outraged. This photo shows the amount of food we got for $75 (with tip). Yes, what you see here is ALL of it, and nothing more. I'm shocked. This is actually the worst case of "food gouging" I have ever experienced. This is NOT OK. An $18 roll with five small pieces in it. A side of what was described as truffle potatoes, with only 9 little sticks, but costing $12+ tax and tip. I have never felt so fleeced by a restaurant before in my life. What happened here is highway robbery.

Google
This place is a hidden gem. The juiciest selection of dry aged sushi I’ve ever had! Can’t go wrong with their selections of nigiri.

I went for my mom and boyfriend’s birthdays on separate occasions, and it was amazing both times! I love the lunch specials and the fish is so fresh and unbeatable. They even brought out a little birthday cake 🥺 so nice

This was a Japanese restaurant of a different name just two years ago, it has the most incredible black cod. I came to The Brothers Sushi and got the impression it may still be related to the old place. The food is outstanding, the sushi in Los Angeles has reached new heights. I intend to try to cod next time I'm in town. The cafe is smallish, the tables are laid out in a row more or less, facing the sushi chefs. There is a small bar when you enter. Hostesses are very nice. There are outdoor tables. Everyone is pretty. however Parking is difficult here, I could not find a place in the parking structure and parked illegally out by the park.

Google
Most definitely the best sushi I've had in years. My wife and I had Omakase for my birthday. Outstanding service -- they kindly accommodated our dietary requests. The presentation was masterful and the executive chef beautifully explained his artistic creations. I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely go back again to enjoy the chef's craftsmanship and to enjoy a truly authentic sushi kaiseki experience.

Google
I’m very happy that Culver City finally has an exceptional, high quality Japanese restaurant. The staff are amazing and helpful. The kitchen and sushi chefs are creative and consistently put out delicious dishes that will amaze you. The dry aged fish should not be missed. Lunch meals are considerably less expensive than dinner. Parking is validated in the Trader Joe’s garage, so you can get some groceries after your meal. Excellent!

Yelp
I finally had a chance to come here with friends and it was totally worth the money! Lunch ends at 2pm on weekdays and we arrived around 1245 on a Tuesday afternoon for a late lunch. It was not crowded at all and we were seating right away. They have pretty great lunch specials - I ordered the sashimi lunch special that came with at least 15 pieces of fresh fish/octopus, a bowl of rice, miso soup and salad for $30. My friends each got the sushi and roll lunch special that came with 5 pieces of assorted nigiri and either spicy tuna roll or shrimp tempura roll. We also ordered the shishito peppers and salmon rices cakes to share. Everything was delicious, fresh and came out very timely. We were all full and satisfied with our meals. Would definitely recommend this place for lunch, seems a bit pricier for dinner but the sushi tastes really fresh and they have the sushi chefs at the counter making everything to order. We walked from my place but there are multiple parking garages nearby, notably the one that takes you to traders joes is the closest since it's right next door.

Yelp
We were really excited to celebrate Valentine's Day with omakase here after hearing great things about this place. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the most frustrating and disappointing dining experiences we've had. First, the $160 per person omakase--advertised as their standard offering--was not available. My husband even called ahead to confirm we didn't need to make a special request, and we were told we'd be fine. When we arrived, however, the only option was a "Valentine's Day Special" for $210 per person, which was essentially the same thing: three appetizers, 10 pieces of nigiri, a hand roll, and dessert. The fact that we made an effort to confirm and still got blindsided at the table was incredibly frustrating. Second, and far worse--the service was shockingly slow. We received our appetizers about 15 minutes after being seated, and then... nothing. We sat there waiting for an hour and a half before our sushi finally arrived. We had to repeatedly flag down the staff, and while our server was apologetic, it was clear the kitchen was completely overwhelmed. This wasn't a leisurely experience--it was a painfully long, disorganized wait that completely ruined our Valentine's Day dinner. For a restaurant charging over $400 for two people, the service and experience were nowhere near acceptable. We wanted a special night and instead got a long, frustrating wait and a bait-and-switch on pricing. Really disappointed that we splurged for what turned out to be an incredibly underwhelming and stressful meal. Would absolutely not recommend this place for a special occasion.

Yelp
The brothers Sushi is Japanese style with many options Riho was so helpful with explaining the menu. Very nice restaurant. Check out the sashimi's!! Dry Aged Toro , Albacore crispy onions, Gentani Seafood Ceviche were perfect

Yelp
3rd time in 2 months - their dry aged fish is pretty awesome and have a pretty good variety to choose from. I'd say it's pretty good bang for your buck considering the size of the pieces you get, and everything is buttery delicious. Better to sit at the counter vs the table - food comes pretty quick (in a good way), but not to the point where everything is on your plate at once. Will drop by again soon.

Yelp
This place was delish! A few things to know though, the GPS took us all different weird ways so I recommend parking in the Trader Joe's parking lot and then when you come out onto the street, go the opposite way of where you are thinking (lol!). It's actually east of the parking lot and away from the center of the main part of Culver City. Now onto the food! Thanks to a recent Yelp event, my new friends there told me to go for the dry age items here. I didn't even realize dry age sushi was a thing but omg it's so good! We had the dry aged tuna sampler platter which was just amazing! We also had the spicy tuna on crispy rice along with the yellowtail carpaccio and their mushroom salad. All of it was just so tasty and flavorful! (Quick side note -- We found a short hair in the very expensive salad which I'm sure was just a random occurrence. It would have been nice to have been partially compensated for it because it def made me stop eating it but whatever -- the great service and other dishes made up for it!) I agree with the other yelp reviews on here that it is quite pricey so I won't be going back too often but I wouldn't be against someone suggesting we go in the future!

Yelp
Came for the lunch omakase ($95), and it was fabulous!! First time trying an omakase though, but was still wowed at the freshness and depth of flavors. Impeccable service, although I wished the server was a bit clearer about explaining each piece. She also said the Japanese name, so maybe there was a little language barrier. A very comfortable place, and I would love to come back in the future!

Yelp
Very few tables filled. 5 tables. Ordered house sake large. $30. Didn't know. Would have ordered a glass of wine instead $18. Yes, least expensive prices. $30 for large house sake. No Bento boxes. Waitress suggested building one - $125. Each! Had rock shrimp tempura. Edamame a bowl of rice each. Cauliflower app Cooked cod fish taco. Total. $95 each. $200 dinner. No wonder only a few tables taken. ....

Yelp
So I eat a lot of high end omakase and sushi. I enjoy sitting at the chef's counter, conversing with the chef and also partaking in a sake pairing or tasting. Brothers sushi does not have this kind of service format or the best sushi in town (due to cooking technique) but it overall has good quality ingredients and a good selection of authentic Japanese dishes. It is very good value for the price point and accessible in a pinch. I loved that they had a fresh daily special menu that features hard to find fish like nodoguro, golden eye snapper, and Sakura trout! I'm very impressed the restaurant took the care to import these more exotic ingredients usually only found in those exclusive omakase places. The prices were also not bad for them. The sake menu is also solid, with some of my favorite sakes! I got their Ohmine Sake sampler, seriously the best value tasting I have found in LA so far. Usually other places serve crappy low grade sake for the same price or they charge $25-30 for one glass. Here they poured 3 glasses! I admit my expectations are high due to being spoiled. My fish was not at the right temperature, not cut super meticulously. The rice was not the right texture, and the rice to fish ratio was not right, but the ingredients are fresh and solid. The price was only $200 for tons of food!! I tried a little of all the specials. It was also easy to get a seat! Service was also very attentive they were very fast, brought plates and removed them quickly. For the price point and the convenience, with a step up in offerings compared to Sugar Fish, this is a solid mid to upper tier, semi casual sushi restaurant. You cannot compare this to the likes of a 12 seater restaurant named after the dedicated sushi chefs that run them, like Kaneyoshi, Nozawa Bar, or Morihiro. It is more a higher end mass produced sushi place but you have to book those sushi omakase counters like a month in advance. This restaurant has some nice exotic fish and sakes without the need to plan ahead or fight for reservations.

Yelp
went for Lunch with a friend, food was good. Staff was not so attentive but nice. parking in structure was easy to park and find the restaurant. I liked crunchy shrimp roll and white fish with salt on it :)

Yelp
Decided to come to their Culver City location. I could probably eat sushi everyday if I could, and this place didn't disappoint. For $85, this lunch omakase (minus Japanese uni, it's an add on) was really good. All their fish are fresh and delicious. Their toro was dry aged and delicious, which adds that extra touch of umami. You get 10 pieces nigiri, a custom handroll, and appetizers (miso soup, salad and ceviche). We added on the Japanese uni (since it wasn't in the omakase, and I love uni) Their staff is friendly and attentive. The place is nice and clean.

Yelp
After hearing about Brothers in the valley for years, I was super excited to hear they were opening a location in Culver City. Our first time on a weekend in December 2023, we were able to walk in and sit at the sushi bar and ordered the $140 omakase. Kenji served us fresh delicious fish and the uni chawamushi was amazing, definitely recommend order it off the a la carte menu! Second time we visited in March 2024 for yakitori, which smelled delicious as Yakitoriguy cooked up a storm outside. As this is a review of Brothers Sushi, we also ordered the Tuna sampler which was a great way to try compare different cuts, as well as seared and marinated. The Donabe chowder was creamy and the shrimp fresh, we liked the extra soup came in a kettle. The Seafood cerviche was also interesting to see on a Japanese menu, and we found it to be perfect, not too sour and with multiple pieces of fish, shrimp (meh), octopus, and scallop (fav), balanced with pieces of onion and tomatoes. All in all, always great sushi at Brothers! Parking is 2 hours free with validation in the city parking garage.

Yelp
I had the seaweed salad ,soft shell crab roll and shrimp and vegetable tempura. They all was fresh and tasty. Cheyanne was a very helpful sushi chef and has great suggestions. The service was above and beyond. Nice relaxing atmosphere with normal atmosphere. A bit on the pricey side I must say in comparison to a lot of other sushi places I have eaten at around the country. While writing this review we started seeing all these flying knats out of nowhere everything was fine until then. The food and service great but flying knats affected this review. For the price we shouldn't be encountering green knats.

Jaclyn N.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal evening at Brothers Sushi! The fish here is top notch - but the seared fatty tuna nigiri should not be missed. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
What a joke for price to quality. Been here 3 times and no more. Always walking out like we got robbed! LOL Go luck, but I won't be coming back. About $250 for 2.

Yelp
Went here for lunch. Fish was fresh and very tasty. Service was excellent and ambiance is very work meeting lunch vibes from those who work in Culver City. The lunch specials are $30 that come w soup and salad. You'll definitely leave satisfied. Will be back.

Yelp
Delicious!!! Quality is superb!! Highly recommend the Dry Aged Bluefin Tuna Sampler and the Ora King Salmon Sushi Sampler. Also Spicy Tuna Rice Cakes are THE BEST I've had for the crispy rice appetizer. Sushi chefs and our server were super friendly and welcoming. Ambiance is chill but not too casual. We came in on a Friday night and I'm surprised there were only a couple other tables there. Totally worth a try if you haven't already!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and me and my friend got the lunch Omakase! The staff was super friendly and the chefs knew what they were doing. Might be one of the best meals I've ever had, the fish was fresh and each piece melted in my mouth. They even included a free birthday dessert which was so sweet :) would recommend !!

Yelp
Fresh and delicious sushi, plus the service is amazing. Love coming to this place and eat all the sushi I can. Haven't had anything I don't like. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi, salmon on crispy rice, baked hand roll, truffle edamame, albacore crispy onion all so good. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends.

Asami K.

Yelp
I loved K-ZO, and It was my first time attempted as The Brothers sushi last night. I saw many familiar faces from K-ZO, they were so friendly and attentive service as usual. I tried the seared aged toro sashimi, the sea bass wrap, the fried scallops and some sushi. Everything was AMAZING and high quality, especially sushi. Can't wait to come back to try the rest of their menu!

Rizalyn T.

Yelp
It's a nice experience having Omakase here, nice place, great food. And service is great too.

Yelp
I absolutely love this sushi spot. Probably the best sushi I have had since coming back from Japan. The adjustment back to US sushi has been extremely difficult but THIS place has really made me love sushi in LA again. Lunch omakase is amazing. Dinner is amazing Sunny our sushi chef was very in tune with what we liked and figured out what we should order. He gave great recommendations based on what we loved and preferred. Service staff is the most accommodating! Order Dry Aged everything... some Of the best salmon sushi I've ever had. My faves: Dry Aged Fatty Toro, Red Snapper, dry aged Salmon, yellow tail, black snapper, Halibut,.... Honestly just order a few of your favorites and then let them make recommendations and order exactly that! Also! You must order the match basque cheesecake! It's amazing.

Sara M.

Yelp
Excellent customer service. The sushi on the other hand was squishy and smelled and tasted overly fishy. I tried a couple of pieces but spit them out because it was off putting and I was afraid to eat it
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
Wow! The Brothers Sushi did not disappoint! We ordered the sushi platter and Jyo Chirashi - great for a small group! Beautiful presentation and delicious. The service was great and we will definitely be back to dine in.

Molly T.

Yelp
I'm disappointed with the service and won't be returning. Since last year, this place had been my new favorite spot. The food remains good, but the quality of service has steadily declined over the past few months. Last month, I visited with my boyfriend during a slow period and sat at the bar. Despite the relaxed pace, the servers were caught up in their own conversations and showed little interest in attending to customers. We felt unwelcome, as no one checked on us or offered drinks. During our two-hour stay, our server only came by twice to clear empty dishes. Hoping things would improve, we returned this month. Although we were seated right away, we waited 15-20 minutes before anyone greeted us or took a drink order. It took another 15-20 minutes for someone to return to take our food order, making it the most frustrating experience I've had there. We had to wait nearly 50 minutes for our first dish, which was far too long. In the past, there was a girl who provided great customer service, consistently overseeing the tables and helping other servers. However, I haven't seen her in the last couple of months. When I asked our server about her, I was told she had left and that the other manager only works lunch shifts. For a high-end restaurant that charges over $150 per person, it's surprising--and disappointing--that there's no management presence in the evenings to ensure a smooth experience. It's sad to see such a decline in service quality at what used to be a great spot.

William C.

Yelp
Chef Kenji is an Omakase master. The shortened version here comes with starter, salad, sashimi dish, 10 pieces of sushi(5 normal and 5 dry aged) and ends with a choice of desserts for $160. You can order a la carte as well. The dry aged fish is incredibly well textured and the flavors are concentrated without getting fishy. Premium fish is available like black throat sea perch and golden eye snapper. Staff is friendly and sake list is fantastic. Great spot to grab a high end experience for a little cheaper than the Santa Monica location.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
Love the Donabe Chowder and Seafood Cerviche. Nice place to come eat for lunch. My first time here , and it is one of the best spots in Culver City. Sushi is good and fresh. Little on the expensive side. But this is more of a dinning restaurant. Nice staff good employees, and I will be back.

Lilian S.

Yelp
I've been coming to this location pretty regularly since they've opened. My husband and I used to frequent the location in Santa Monica. When they first opened, the staff clearly had a few kinks to work out as they seemed unfamiliar with how they wanted to operate the service. Brother's Sushi took over this location and opened up using the same furniture and setup from the sushi restaurant that used to be there. Over the course of a couple months, the staff have been making improvements to the furniture, decor, service, and more. Now, the staff are confident in how they work and operate. The service is great. The quality of fish served has always been high and the chef, Kenji, has been ordering seasonal fish that I have not been able to find or try anywhere else. Be sure to ask about any off-menu fish because the printed menu will only feature year-round cuts. The chefs are generous with the size of their nigiri cuts and are happy to accommodate certain requests (less rice, specific preferred toppings, etc.) This location also offers the same dry-aged fish as their other locations. Other things to note is they offer parking validation (free parking for up to 2 hours) for the parking structure attached to the building. It is a very large structure so finding a spot has never been an issue. I hope this place stays in business for a long time as they have been steadily improving and provide a product that I haven't found anywhere else in LA.

Yelp
This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. TLDR: Go to any of the other incredible omakase or even just sushi experiences in LA. I had an 8:15pm reservation on a Saturday night with two close friends who were visiting from out of town. We immediately ordered an $80 bottle of wine and then all chose the $160 omakase aka a $600 tab out the gates. By 845pm, the restaurant was empty and the staff was putting chairs on tables and mopping the floor. We still were only half way through our meal. They then turned on all the lights (it's a dimly lit place) which was really awkward. Then - one of the worst parts - they asked if we wanted our dessert TO GO! We literally said, "To go? For the omakase? No. We'd like our meal here." Then, they brought out 2 cold crème brûlée (the caramelized top was cold and clearly had been sitting in a fridge) and 1 purple parfait. Very weird to get different desserts for the set meal. They seemed to be picking up on what a bad experience this was so they then turned off the lights again. When we expressed our disappointment, they literally only said, "I'm sorry." We asked if they could do anything, and they said they'd change our bottle of wine to two glasses of wine instead... the food also was not worth it at all so really, don't come here. Such a disappointing and uncomfortable experience. Definitely won't be back and recommend saving your omakase experience for one of the many other fantastic options in LA.

Yelp
We love the Brothers Sushi in Woodland Hills so we were so excited to try the Culver City location, but left extremely disappointed. I get that they have some kinks to work out as a new restaurant but the quality and service you receive here is NOTHING like the original. The sushi is inedible. Each piece of fish was mealy and cut in ragged chunks. It had a very "fishy" taste and seemed old. You get about half the amount of fish here for the same price you pay at the Woodland Hills location. We ordered both the JYO Chirashi and the sashimi lunch and asked for the check after eating two pieces of stinky fish. To their credit, they refunded us for the sushi after we pointed it out. There are minor service issues- but for how empty the restaurant was, it took forever for the servers to notice us. Overall, this place is clearly owned or managed by someone different than the original. There is an absolutely no love put into the food and it shows. We will stick to the Woodland Hills location, which is amazing.

Yelp
Great sushi and the service. My favorite items are seared TORO sashimi and Spicy tuna rice cake!! Those two were bombs!! I will definitely go back :)!!

Amber H.

Yelp
A great new addition to Culver City! We love sushi and this place was excellent. We had the Omakase dinner and sake. The fish was delicious and the appetizers were creative and tasty. All the staff were kind and attentive. The chef's dry-aged fish is our new craving. We can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. The restaurant's interior is quite like the old K-Zo space.

Sherry R.

Yelp
The food is okay, but incredibly overpriced for what it is. Service was okay. Ambiance is nothing special. Came with a friend, but would not voluntarily come back.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Discovered the Woodland Hills location after moving to Tarzana from Culver City and was not surprised to hear that they were opening in new location in my beloved K-Zo's old spot. This may be my favorite sushi restaurant in town now for a great meal with my husband and friends. I think they're still getting things dialed in a little, service and ambiance-wise, but I will definitely be back for that food.

Alex G.

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy The Brothers Sushi. First of all everyone that I spoke to was very courteous, and attentive. It felt like they cared for my experience however my biggest gripe with Brothers is the quality of fish for the money. The sushi chef was very professional. $140pp is not cheap at all, maybe it's competitively priced for the area however for what you get it really is not a good value at all. For $140, go to Sugarfish. The taste of the sushi is just ok. We were served their aged tuna first, Spanish mackerel, a Japanese perch, among others but not one item was particularly exceptional and I feel that if I'm paying for an omakase experience I want to be wow'd. This was just ok. Also for what its worth, I have not been to Japan, all my sushi experiences have been in the US and for what its worth, I have had many experiences, even not omakase for less money and tasted better. The ambiance is alright, nothing exceptional either.

Yelp
I had a fantastic omakase lunch experience. Every piece of fish was explained and they were all delicious and unique for me.

We loved K-ZO and we enjoyed this place too - they kept some of K-ZO specialty items and good to see familiar friendly faces from K-ZO as well. We will go back!

Yelp
The dry aged options were fantastic; even if a bit pricey. Staff was exceptionally kind and I definitely think this place should have been more packed than it was when we went on a Friday night. Looking forward in putting this in rotation with Yunomi which is a block away.

Yelp
Great Experience We went to The Brothers Sushi Culver City with friends and had a great time. The fish was delicious, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. We enjoyed everything we ordered, and we ordered a lot. The quality of the fish is excellent. Very happy to have this restaurant in Culver and looking forward to going back.

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time after going to the other restaurant in Santa Monica. My expectations were high because the other restaurant was very good. The sushi was fantastic, we ordered a few different types of nigiri which were sliced to perfection and had just the right amount of spice (due to the wasabi) and sweetness. Plus, the staff was polite and helpful, answering all the questions I had about the menu. I came into the restaurant knowing that it was going to be expensive like last time. This is a great place to go if you have a big budget and an empty stomach.

Yelp
Such a great new sushi spot in culver city! The service was attentive and the sushi was terrific. While the sushi is slightly more expensive than some of the other options in the area, the quality of the fish more than justified this difference. Will be returning soon!

Yelp
We sat at the sushi bar, and Victor was an incredible sushi chef! He was so kind, and made our experience feel curated and special. Everything was delicious and high quality. Thank you Victor!

Yelp
Fish is at low quality. My pieces of fish have a lot of white ligament. The fish were chewy. They are supposed to melt in your mouth.

Yelp
Do not come for the sushi. Absolutely nothing like the Woodland Hills location. Avoid if you're looking for that. Fish was poorly cut, mealy (the kind you get from poorly thawed icy frozen), tough, and smelly like convenience store quality. I don't even mind forgetting to give soy sauce or that the fried crab wasn't crispy (very soggy) or the seats were worn in or forgetting spoons for soup or the place is empty/cold or the egg sushi was just leftover small shreds (not a pretty big triangle like most places) or presentation is eh or servers are non-attentive even though we even the only customers.. I come for the fish, both dry aged and not. It missed the mark completely. I feel sick as I write this, to vomit would be a blessing now. Left mostly untouched, staff reduced check (least they can do). Perhaps their cooked items fare better. But their "dry-aged" fish is definitely not dry-aged or they just didnt give us what we paid for. Yes they just opened but they can do so much better especially for what they charge. I'm still rooting for them because the drive here is so much better than Woodland Hills, will try again and update in 6 months time if reviews are good... I naively hoped the food and service would be at peak during opening.

Yelp
Really great service, very attentive and helpful with the menu. The fish was all very fresh and cut perfectly. Definitely going to make it my regular Friday night spot. I'm very excited to have them in my neighborhood!

Yelp
This is nothing like to Brothers in Encino. Fish was not as good and overly salted. Tasted like a salt lick. Told this to the sushi chief as well as the hostess. The only response i got was thank you come again.

Yelp
We loved K-Zo Sushi that was in this intimate restaurant space, but we are happy that The Brothers Sushi Culver City is now open and many of the former staff are part of the friendly, talented team. My husband and I only ordered a few items, but everything was delicious. The Seared Dry Aged Toro With Pickled Wasabi Marinated Ice Plant Soy Citrus Marinated Tomato Medley was worth braving a rainstorm to try. Also, loved the Soft Shell Crab Salad and the Sea Bass Lettuce Cups. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Super overpriced mid quality sushi. They overused the same ponzu topping on multiple pieces of nigiri. Our waitress didn't know what fish we were being served. We paid extra for caviar and got one little bit of caviar on one nigiri. Super fishy smoked tuna. Unsalted miso soup. Clearly store bought ice-cream for dessert. Slow service. Do not recommend.
