I love this place. I have eaten here many times over the years. Unsure why I have not reviewed it before now. Lol. Me and the wife got some Nathan's hot dogs and they were on hit! Onio. Rings the wife loved and fries were hit and fresh. Good cold local beer. Clean dining room and the waitress was soooo nice and attentive. Busy night so food took a little bit but they kept the beers flowing so that was ok. Lol. Highly recommend this local burger and fry joint. 2 thumbs up 👍

Google
Burger good meat and well balanced, fries so-so, milk shake very good. Price Eeeek. But hey now they have more open hours and serve beer than some years ago. Single front door is brutal in Montana winters.

Google
Food was decent. Burger toppings were sparse and pathetic. Milkshake was delicious. Service was confusing as there appeared to be 3 different servers asking me questions and it didn’t appear they talked to each other. Not sure if I’d try this place again.

I walked downtown to look for some grub but found myself surrounded by restaurants filled with thousand dollar stetsons. I kept walking and found the burger dive. A place a bit more my style. My blackened sabbath burger (Bleu cheese) was outstanding and the french fries hot and fried right in front of me at the counter. A vanilla milkshake to go capped off a very good meal. No complaints. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Delicious burgers and fries served quickly! Perfect portions too! Friendly service. Fun retro decorations.

Google
Great selection of burgers & other items. Tried the I'm Your Huckleberry. While it was good, it's heavier on the huckleberry than the hatch chile flavor. Maria was my server, & when I couldn't decide between the garlic parm fries & onion rings, she suggested I order the kid's side of each. It was the perfect recommendation, & they were both great! I wish I'd had room to try one of the milkshakes that sounded so good. You'll spend about $20 per person plus tax/tip. It has a fun diner ambiance. Definitely worth visiting.

Google
Super friendly staff with attention on service with smile! Did mushroom, Swiss bacon! Delicious! Atmosphere was laid back, 3/4 full. Parking can be an adventure, but we were up for the food at The DIVE ! Great dinner!!

Google
Montana known for their beef we had to try the Burger Dive. Very fun and tasteful restaurant. Super nice staff. Explained their menu and burger of the day. Enjoyed the onion rings for our appetizer so we didn’t get any sides with our burger which can order with or without fries. We ordered the Huckleberry Burger, Juicy Lucy, Thunderbolt Burger and a kids grilled cheese burger. Burgers were so good no one spoke until the last bite was finished! Just the right amount of condiments to not over power the best tasting beef I’ve had anywhere. Very filling so give them a try next time your in town!

Yelp
We were looking for a place for dinner near our hotel and came across The Burger Dive, winner of multiple best burger awards. Seemed promising! We stopped in for dinner about an hour before it closed and the place was packed! Tons of patrons, but luckily a table opened up for us as soon as we got in. "San Fran" Garlic Fries, Basket ($13) - Woah, this must have been like two pounds of fries - they give a huge amount in the basket. As they came out to the table, they smelled amazing with a super pungent garlicky aroma. They tasted just like they smelled - super strong garlic only tempered by the heat of the fries to soften them a bit. The garlic here seems to be freshly hand chopped, irregular in shape, and some of the brown base of the cloves are present. The fries are fresh cut and seem to only be single fried so they aren't very crisp and instead are mostly floppy. Parmesan and herbs add additional flavor. They are quite generous with the toppings for the fries, so that each fry is graced with flavor. If you want additional flavor, there's ketchup at the table and you can request ranch dressing. (4/5) The "I'm Your Huckleberry" Burger ($16.50) - They absolutely load this burger up with goat cheese. It's a cheese that is quite strongly flavored to begin with, and it's a bit overwhelming to be honest. The huckleberry is surprisingly good with a tangy, nice fruity flavor. It makes sense since there's a lot of sweet, fruit and goat cheese pairings. For some reason I got a bit of a tingle and spicy note just in the huckleberry jam. I'm not sure if I was imagining it or not. The burger patty is cooked medium well and is exceptionally juicy. Arugula adds a vegetal, bitter note to temper the rich cheese and beef, although it's softened from the heat of the burger. The bacon reinforces the meaty richness, although it's not thick enough to add texture. I think the only shortcoming is that the burger is missing texture; everything is basically very soft, with no chew or crunch. (4/5) We enjoyed the food so much we went again the next night for more: Fresh Cut Chili Cheese Fries, Basket, Ordered Crispy ($15) - Yes! My only complaint about the garlic fries is completely solved. I definitely recommend getting the fries crisp. I'm not usually one to ask for substitutions or modifications to dishes, but they fried these up perfectly. I was served a basket with a piping hot mound of fries and toppings even more generous than the previous night. At one glance, I was sure there was no way we would be able to finish. They ladle on a bunch of chili and add a ton of shredded cheddar cheese that melts and creates a great cheese pull as you eat. The chili has a mix of beans including pinto and black and a good amount of ground beef. It's seasoned very well, on the salty side, but balanced well when mixed with the fluffy fries. The fries have great crisp on outside to stand up to the chili. Since the fries are single fried, it's not quite as fluffy and moist as a double fry but still delicious. (5/5) The "Outlaw" Burger ($14.50) - They combine the same juicy, thick, medium-well burger patty with a sweet and vegetal poblano on top, fresh red onion to add just a bit of crunch, and caramelized onion for more sweetness. Melted cheese adds creaminess. Combined with the garlic mayo, the burger has a fantastic moisture level, with each bite being pleasant to chew. I especially loved the whole roasted garlic cloves on top of the patty. Yum! (5/5) Flaming S'mores Milkshake ($8) - This was recommended by waitress who emphasized the "flaming" part of the milkshake. Say no more! When the waitress brings out the shake, she torches it right in front of you! The bundle of flaming mini marshmallows on top get very nicely charred. I especially enjoyed the charred marshmallows mixed into the shake as the bitter parts help balance the sweetness of the shake, and additionally adds some crunch. The ice cream has crunchy tiny bits of graham cracker blended in for additional texture. The ice cream itself is not very chocolatey for chocolate ice cream, and I thought I saw pale swirls in the shake, leading me to suspect it's perhaps vanilla with chocolate syrup swirled in? (5/5) Great burgers, great fries (make to ask for them extra crisp), and great milkshakes. What else could you ask for? Go to The Burger Dive when you're in Billings and you won't be disappointed. Bathrooms: Two individual rooms in the back, one for each gender.

Yelp
We discovered this Billings gem had won world's best burger and well deserved!!! The signature Date with Jim Bean & Coke burger was absolute perfection. It literally melted in our mouths. The huckleberry was well made but its tanginess was not quite my jam but it was still incredibly well made. The milkshake was top notch as well. My son loved that it was vanilla based with the spice flavoring but I was hoping for more pumpkin flavor. Still high quality nonetheless but All the staff we interacted with were great and the venue had a fun retro diner vibe to it

Yelp
Nothing fancy good burgers quick service nice staff. Fries super good also. They do have wine

Yelp
Driving through the area on a road trip and so glad we stopped. Ordered the Huckleberry burger with the Huckleberry milkshake and holy smokes! Probably one of the best burgers I've had. Cute ambiance and would rank this as a must food stop!

Yelp
5-Star burger!! Believe the hype!! Man, I can't think of a better tasting burger. I ordered the Juicy Lucy, and it was all that. Made to order, I ordered it the way they make it. It was excellent. I had the fries, and they were delicious salty crunchy goodness. It's a great spot to have a burger and fries, I sat at the counter and it was fun to interact with the crew. ***Flight Attendant approved***

Yelp
The food is great. One of the best burgers I've had. The milkshakes are amazing. The service was excellent and the restaurant is clean and has an awesome decor.

Yelp
What a friggin' Dive. My kind of place. Ever ask yourself, where can I find a Beer & a Burger? Here is your answer. Simple no frills dive. Order as you wish with no request denied. But I may suggest not to pass on the huckleberry.

Yelp
Great burger joint, casual old fashion diner vibe which was packed when we came but service was quick and friendly.... Order your burger medium rare, Get the San' Fran fries and Try their milkshakes... you can't go wrong!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious burger!!! Came by for lunch and they were busy. Kind of tricky finding this place (I drove right by it). They have ZERO parking so I found metered parking on the street a couple blocks away. Service is fast and friendly, they work as a team and a couple servers were very attentive and helpful. Ordered the butterscotch milkshake and it was awesome, thick with an extra scoop of ice cream on top. Went with the huckleberry burger and it was a unique and delicious burger. Montana meat, bacon, chilies with a delicious huckleberry sauce, goat cheese, and arugula all amazingly worked well together!
google avatar

Raquel M.

Yelp
If you are craving a burger and you are in Billings this is the place to get one. The garlic fries are amazing as well. You'll thank me later...enjoy!

Yelp
Great customer service! The food was delicious, especially the burgers and fries! I really loved the cozy atmosphere!

Yelp
This was our favorite burger joint during our most recent fishing trip to Montana. We found the Burger Dive via a Google search on our return trip from the Battle of the Little Bighorn. The service was outstanding and the food matched the service. I had the strawberry malt. Absolutely outstanding. It is served in the can and loaded with ice cream and flavor and nice and thick just the way it was ordered. Followed by the Lucy Burger and Cajun fries which I shared with my son. The Angus Burger was cooked just right and very tasty. I highly recommend stopping if you are in the area. The Burger Dive lives up to its name especially if you are like me and love hole in the wall and dives.

Yelp
Stopped by on a tip from a local and found burgers and fries of exceptional quality. Best of the best folks, make no mistake, this is top 1% eats paired with friendly service. The wait for perfectly cooked, seasoned, and prepared food is well worth it. Open and honest burger joint in a friendly setting. Had the super delicious Bandit burger medium-rare with chili-cheese fries. I only eat hot fries and usually tell the server up front I want them "burn my face off hot" , only this time I forgot to. I still got smokin hot fries just the way I like them with a generous portion of tasty chili and cheese.
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
The best burger I've ever had!!! And the variety is so unique. I loved the fresh cut fries, make sure you get garlic Parmesan!!! Good service and the food came out fast. Burger was hot. They even serve Montana beers. No complaints!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing burgers. Everything you hear is true. A great tasting burger. The cheese and other condiments were amazing! Absolutely would recommend this burger dive!! Fries were also amazing!
google avatar

Beth D.

Yelp
Pretty good. The milkshakes are the traditional super sweet chocolate-y type that fill a milkshake craving. I got the smores one to go and it wasn't as good as the photos look as they put marshmallows in the milkshake itself which hardened due to the cold of the icecream and there was a weird rough texture from the graham cracker. The wait staff and hostess went above and beyond for the meal and I definitely appreciate the establishment and service. Fries were handcut and delicious. Would come back again but probably just stick with a classic chocolate shake next time.
google avatar

Ronald M.

Yelp
First off the food was lousy... I got a medium rare burger and I didn't ask for a medium rare burger... Second I ordered onion rings and they forgot the onion rings so by the time I was halfway through my burger, they finally bring me my onion rings .... the service was just as bad as the burger because it said $11.50 for a burger but $14.50 for a combo however the lady proceeded to charge me $11.50 for the burger and then five dollars for the onion rings. Where Did the $16.50 come from when it should've been $14.50 for a combo ....I could've got a better meal at Wendy's....The owner is overpriced and out of touch
google avatar

Alexis M.

Yelp
I am always on the hunt for a good burger spot so I headed to The Burger Dive for the unique flavor combos they offered. I tried both the "Best of the Bash" burger and the Huckleberry burger. I preferred the blackened seasoning, smooth goat cheese, bacon, onion ring, arugula, Siracha sauce & garlic basil mayonnaise flavor profile of the Best of the Bash burger. The "I'm Your Huckleberry" Burger had too much overpowering goat cheese and I didn't taste the huckleberry. Solid burger and the burger meat was high quality and juicy. As for the fries, they brought the experience down. No crunch, just soggy sweet potato:( This place has a quirky diner feel with checkered floors and unique memorabilia. Service is friendly and efficient. Its burgers have received praise as Burger Champion at the World Food Championship and from Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival Burger Bash. Definitely give it a try and see how it ranks on your burger scale!

Yelp
Glad my boss (a local) recommended this place! In town for two nights and honestly think I might go back again tomorrow. I had the "Award Winning Burger" and I literally inhaled it. Upgrade to garlic parm fries for the win! Add some local draft beers and I'm in heaven. The ambiance was even perfect and the service was great.

Yelp
I had read about The Burger Dive, a popular local burger spot in Billings. The menu features their award-winning burgers, fries, hot dogs, shakes, and kid options. We came here for an early dinner, and we ordered the following: +the "I'm Your Huckleberry" Burger - a World Foods Championships "Burger Champion" Burger, covered with Brad's new Huckleberry Hatch chili barbecue sauce, bacon, goat cheese, arugula, and roasted red pepper mayo +the "Behemoth" Burger - with crispy shredded cheddar cheese (mound and melted), lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mayo +onion rings +garlic fries Honestly, the burgers were just okay. The patties were definitely large and juicy, but we felt that they weren't seasoned; I think the goal was to have the toppings and the sauces make up for this. The burgers come with the regular cut fries, but if you wanted to swap for another type of fries or onion rings, there is an extra upgrade - not worth it! Service was friendly, but we did feel slightly rushed; our first server who seated us was super sweet and allowed us to sample the sauces to see if we'd like it on our burger; we then had a change of servers, and she was a little pushy - I think it was because the place was getting packed and they wanted tables readily available with a high turnover. Parking is extremely limited; there is a side lot, but it's always packed, super tight, and people don't park their car within the lines - ugh. There are also some limited metered parking, too. Glad I was able to check this place out, but wouldn't return. +bland burgers +not worth the upgrade on fries/onion rings +pushy service +limited parking in the area

Greg R.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal!! And I don't throw that around loosely. I got the I'm Your Huckleberry Burger, as recommended by the nicest young lady at the counter. She was polite and friendly and even gave a recommendation of the garlic fries. The place was busy however, the food came out quick and to order. Everything was delicious I even ate my fries without adding catchup. The place is small and parking is tricky, but it's worth your time.
google avatar

Kerry S.

Yelp
Never had a chance to partake in a burger, sat down ready to order. A large group (about 12) next to be wasn't even all there yet, about 5 of them came in after I had been seated and served a drink. They choose to wait for that group THEN get their orders. Thinking I'd be soon, nope! 15 minutes no one took my order. Not a, "be with you in a minute" or (sorry be right with you," nothing. And I was by myself. I walked out. Customer service? Not here! Shame, from the food coming out, I was looking forward to try one.
google avatar

Liza F.

Yelp
I went for the full experience not knowing when I'd be back in town. Ordered carry out. LOVED the food! The Huckleberry burger flavors were amazing (the burger was a bit well done for me, however I didn't specify my temp preference). Upgraded to the garlic parmesan fries, out of the world good with the real chunks of garlic. Added a strawberry balsamic milkshake. It was outstanding! Great customer service, quick and friendly.
google avatar

Hillary M.

Yelp
Great, place was packed so we knew that was a good sign. They were pretty quick for how many people walked into order at once. Salted Carmel shake 10/10, sugar bomb but worth it to try.

Brandon C.

Yelp
Possibly the best burger ive ever had. It was so good yesterday we had lunch there again today. Staff was very helpful & fun. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Diane S.

Yelp
This place was famous on yelp and online on this food network post as most famous burgers to eat in Montana. Stephanie was so attentive she checked on us so many times while the restaurant was so busy. She was so kind and not pushy. We ordered one burger and an upgrade for chili cheese fries for under $22. We could have upgraded to garlic fries or onion rings as well. The place is hidden downtown. My husband said the burger was really good. We got the best of the bash burger with goat cheese. The ranch was good too with dill and tasted home made. If visiting Billings eat here they take card and it is clean and feels nostalgic.
google avatar

Otis O.

Yelp
Huckleberry burger is 15/10. The goat cheese, the huckleberry, the delcioous montana beef, its a piece of art

Steve N.

Yelp
Very busy at 2:00pm Wednesday. Good good, great selection of milkshakes. Service good. Would recommend
google avatar

Tabor P.

Yelp
Always get the juicy Lucy. It's sooooooooo good. Garlic fries to go with! Servers there are super nice! The place feels really old school we love going there! Would recommend. 10/10
google avatar

Yelp
This is hands down the best burger in Montana. I have been all over and tried a lot. There is a lot of great burger joints in this state for sure, but the dive is king. Great service, amazing burgers with fresh ingredients and amazing fries and onion rings. This is a must check for sure if you are in Billings. I drive two hours just to get a burger here, and it's like my fifth time. Each time I had a different burger and it was on point. This time I got the be my huckleberry burger and I am glad I did! Check it out for sure! 5/5 all day long!
google avatar

Jason O.

Yelp
It was a pretty good burger and a great shake. But on par with what I'd expect from a good-quality burger joint. Not the best burger by any means, but still a really good one. Parking downtown can be tricky, but it's worth it, plus all of the memorabilia is fun. Takes you back to Happy Days.

Kathleen T.

Yelp
We loved this place in Billings, MT. The ambience is quirky and interesting, the food was delicious and we are so glad we went a little out of our way to give it a try. My husband had the chili burger, I had the bourbon date championship burger and we shared an order of fries. M only issue is I couldn't try them all!! We were traveling through, it was pouring down rain and we had to walk a bit as parking is limited, but we are so glad we did; delicious burgers, and accompaniments, and it was dry and friend,y inside!
google avatar

Kelley B.

Yelp
This hands down the best burger I've ever had in my life. You have to come here and eat. I had a mushroom burger with caramelized onions. My only regret is that I couldn't eat two or three burgers. The batter on the onion rings is amazing too. Almost like dessert. Get here early for lunch, it's packed, but service is quick and they are fast at take out too. Has a funky divey vibe and staff are super friendly.
google avatar

Lynne P.

Yelp
Awesome food and shakes. Service was top notch with super friendly servers. Loved the huckleberry burger and huckleberry shake.

Yelp
We LOVE the Burger Dive!! Whenever we're in Billings we make a special trip. Of course we get burgers (the one with chili is amazing.). The last time when I asked for a glass of Chardonnay, the server brought out two bottles - the regular and a special one from California. Of course I opted for the special Chardonnay and she let me buy the bottle at half price. Just a lovely experience. :). ( Wish I could remember the name of the wine.)
google avatar

Maestro L.

Yelp
For starters, excellent customer service from everybody. The burger is 1/3 pound and most importantly it was cooked as ordered and had great flavor. The bun was probably one day from being too dry. It was starting to crumble when I took a bite. Decent pricing. Over great place to get a burger, and once again, the customer service is outstanding, greeted within 15 seconds of entrance.
google avatar

Brad E.

Yelp
This place is legit. We came to try the oversized juicy Lucy burger. While it was great, the onion rings were even better. I think the milk shakes are some of the best I've ever tried. Cookies and cream and salted caramel were both great. I didn't love the sweet potato fries or the bacon added to my juicy Lucy for whatever that's worth. Still a great spot.
google avatar

Jake E.

Yelp
The Huckleberry Burger was awesome, and their shakes are great too! We ordered takeout and it was ready within 10 minutes and easy to pick up. The wide variety of options made it hard to choose what to get because they all sounded so good. The limited parking space was the only difficulty. Definitely recommend getting any of their burgers or shakes!
google avatar

Yelp
We saw the Burger Dive on Man v Food, so we decided to stop on our road trip across the country. It was totally worth it (although we were driving through Billings either way). The rockstar of the meal was truly the "I'm your huckleberry burger" - not only were the toppings generous but also a well balanced combination between the hickleberries, goat cheese, arugula, and bacon. We did a to-go order, and while surprised that they didn't asked how we wanted the burgers cooked, it turned out that they were cooked to perfection just however they are made!!! My family were not sure about the huckleberry burger, so they tried others (the magnum PI and the mushroom bacon burger). Everyone loved their burgers! The hickleberry milkshake was also delicious - creamy but had whole berries in them!!! I had a slightly dry throat from a cold and the road-trip, and it was so soothing. The fries were good fries - tasted fresh-cut and the garlic was yummy. I finished everything and was overly stuffed. If I went again, I would get the huckleberry burger and huckleberry milkshake (or try different burgers or milkshakes) and skip the fries! Thanks so much for an awesome lunch, Burger Dive Team!!!

Mark O.

Yelp
The selection of burgers is amazing. But the Milkshakes are off the hook. Love the huckleberry one is fire.

Katherine V.

Yelp
Had the Huckleberry burger and loved it. Definitely try the garlic parm fries! Super friendly staff!

Yelp
The staff and Owner is very welcoming! He made sure to greet me as I exited the establishment! This all goes with the taste, quality and awesome fresh food! Burger is so juicy and tender! Is that a thing? Yesss! It exist here I love garlic and everything reminded me of my home cooking! I'll always stop by when I'm in town! Five star flareeeeeeeeeeee

Yelp
Very very good food and milkshakes are yummy!! I can see why this is a recommended spot for visitors of Billings

Yelp
Bland burgers and not worth the money. We were super excited to try this place because the photos on Yelp looked amazing and the combo of flavors looked equally appealing. Unfortunately we didn't get what we were after. We got the World Champ Huckleberry burger. Again, where's the sauce? There was barely any flavor to this burger and the images we see it is basically drenched in sauce. Ours unfortunately was not. For a World Champ burger, which is honestly the only reason we came, it was a huge disappointment. You should be blown away by this item and it was.....just a burger. No crazy flavor bomb. Sigh. We ordered the Jerk with a veggie patty sub. The main point of the Jerk is to have a jerk BBQ sauce. There was probably a quarter size drop of sauce on the burger. The patty was black bean and held together quite well but honestly the Jerk flavor tasted like Cajun seasoning you get at the grocery store. Onion rings with this were actually really tasty. We ordered the Outlaw and I was extremely excited about the garlic smash I was about to get hit in the face with. But, again, it was just bland. There was barely a hint of garlic and I did find one clove in my basket which was surprisingly also not exciting. Another disappointment. Just simply lacking any real flavor. Lastly we got the Mazatlan Hot Dog. Being from SoCal I was stoked to get what I anticipated was a TJ Dog in Billings. It came out, simple slice of bacon on top, cold shredded cheese, a blip of pico, and a thin spread of guac. Not very appealing to look at. This actually was the best tasting thing we got. I do wish the dog was actually wrapped in bacon, which it should be, and the cheese was melted, but the taste was quite good. I don't really understand the hype and I'm chalking it up to just a bad day for the kitchen. What we got did not look like the photos other people posted and the taste just wasn't what was being described. We paid over $100 for a late lunch and it was no where near that in value. These were $8 burgers at best. Pretty sad about our visit and like I said, anything being hyped and promoted as World Champion should not be bland. But, here we are.

Rhylee J.

Yelp
i traveled from oklahoma with my husband and the food was incredible. staff were all very friendly as well. my husband said he has never seen me finish a burger so fast!

Yelp
Husband: "This might be the best burger I've ever had. This was a must visit." HIGH PRAISE. He got the Juicy Lucy burger and was warned to cut it open before he bit into it because it has cheese baked into the patty and would explode on first bite otherwise! He ate it so quickly and was very satisfied. I got the garlic burger and garlicky it was! Delicious and messy just as a burger should be. You can add fries or different sides and we added fries and onion rings. Both were delicious. The fries have skins on and are double fried and you could tell were the real deal. The girls got a kid's grilled cheese (which I tried and was delicious) and kid's cheeseburger. Both came with a generous serving of fries. And the SHAKE! Wish I could include video of the man toasting the marshmallows tableside with his little torch. It was a delicious combo of chocolate, marshmallow crème, and toasted mallows. Hit the spot. The service was very friendly and quick. The place was almost full but moving like a well-oiled machine! Location is convenient to downtown and gas meter parking right outside or a parking garage across the street. Other eateries and ice cream are right around the corner. The inside has definite old-school burger diner vibes with the checkered floor and decor. Would recommend! Only downside is the prices. Burgers (without sides) were pretty pricey and ranged in the $12-16.50 range. Otherwise would definitely come back.

Yelp
You can easily miss this place with a small sign at the top of the entrance and in a building that's pretty nondescript. But my friend recommended it and once I stepped in and saw all the people enjoying their burgers, I knew I was in the right place. I got the "Ring of Fire" burger. The buns were nicely toasted, it had a crispy onion ring and melted cheese to round out the pickled jalepenos and other spices. It was one of the best burgers I've had in awhile. I would definitely go back when in town!
