We had heard about The Butcher's Club from friends of ours that had enjoyed their tomahawk steak. While we didn't order that on the evening we celebrated our second wedding anniversary, we did enjoy a delicious meal that comprised lobster, scallops, wagyu ribeye, and cocktails.
The luxurious, posh restaurant comprised dark wooden walls, stylish tables, dim overhead lighting, with individual lamps for each of the tables for a more intimate dining experience depending on who is with you.
The service, as you would hope at a posh steakhouse like this one located at PGA National, was spot on; prompt, friendly, and able to provide recommendations based on the ask on cocktails, appetizers, and the main course.
After ordering so very refreshing and satisfying cocktails such as the Oaxacha Strawberry Negroni and Gold Rush, we started our meal with some poached lobster that was quite exquisite before moving on to our main courses of the wagyu ribeye and the scallops, served with some Yukon gold potato purée and Béarnaise sauce.
The wagyu was everything I thought it world be; savory, satisfying, and delicious to the last bite, especially with the. Béarnaise sauce and potato purée. I ordered ours medium rare and it came out fantastically. The scallops were very good, even if there were only three served with the entree -- in hindsight, we should have ordered another lobster tail, but we will next time when we return.
For dessert, I enjoyed their pecan carrot cake, which quite tasty and creamy with a neat pour of Macallan Rare Cut that was poured for me directly at my table thanks to their whiskey cart they bring around when it's time for after-dinner drinks.
Everything about our experience was top notch at the Butcher's Club, which is what you hope when you want to frequent an upscale steakhouse for a very fancy meal.
