The Butcher's Grille - Review - Tanglewood - Houston - The Infatuation

"The Butcher's Grille is a Lebanese spot from Dearborn, Michigan, and their new restaurant in Tanglewood is their first location away from home. Here, flame-grilled halal meats and other traditional Lebanese dishes meet American bar staples—think crispy shawarma egg rolls, fried halloumi sticks, and stacked burgers topped with onion rings the size of bracelets. There's no alcohol, but there are mocktails like rose water spritzes and smokey jalapeño margaritas. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Brooke Viggiano

Absolutely delicious!!! WOW. Every single dish we had was phenomenal. From the fresh squeezed lemonade to the appetizers, the meats, and the desserts…still dreaming about this lunch. This is the perfect spot for authentic Lebanese food with a modern twist. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is warm and friendly. The food is fresh and healthy not to mention so tasty. This is a new must try—a favorite for sure!!

Absolutely loved this place! My dad and I came by to try this place out before bringing my mom who loves steak. First off the atmosphere is very elegant and the staff was wonderful. The lady in the front stopped by to check on us and we had miss Vanessa as our server and she was very attentive and informative, she answered all of our questions that we had and made sure we enjoyed our experience dining in this establishment. The food was excellent. Every dish we ordered was flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking of trying it and I will introduce this restaurant to my friends and family.

I went to the Butcher’s Grille for a lunch date with my husband to try out before we take a big party with us and loved the ambiance. We ordered hot and spicy chicken sandwich and a butcher burger. Both were pretty good and came with a big side of fries. Quality of buns is really good. We asked for medium cooked beef patty for butcher’s burger but it came as well done and Thai was the only down side. I also ordered frozen mint lemonade which was very refreshing. Location is very nice with outdoor seating as well. Overall experience is good.

I had my birthday dinner at this place and was so happy to find such a wonderful halal fine dining restaurant in Houston. The food was absolutely delicious! 👍🏼 We tried the dynamite prawns, Butcher Burger and the Butcher Board—both had generous portions and were full of flavor. Our server, Eddie, was extremely kind and guided us through the menu with great detail, which made the experience even better. To top it all off, when they found out it was my birthday, they surprised me with a complimentary chocolate cake—it was rich, moist, and the perfect sweet ending 🍫❤️and even sang me 🥳 Happy Birthday , it truly felt special 💕 Definitely a memorable experience, and I’d love to come back again!

Hands down one of the best Lebanese cuisine experiences I’ve had in a long time! From the moment I walked into The Butcher Grill, I felt like I had stepped into a high-end restaurant in Dubai. The ambiance is stunning — modern, elegant, and warm — the perfect setting to enjoy authentic Lebanese flavors. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every single dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and perfectly executed. The pesto hummus was a standout — a unique twist that was so delicious, I could eat it by the spoonful! Even the pita bread was next-level — warm, fluffy, and fresh. The mocktails were crafted beautifully and tasted just as good as they looked. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality and everything is prepared with care. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the whole experience feel extra special. And yes — it’s 100% Halal, which was very important to us. This place is a gem. I’d give it a 10 out of 10. A must-visit if you’re in Houston and love Middle Eastern cuisine. I’ll definitely be back — again and again!

We went for a family dinner and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was absolutely amazing—both the indoor and outdoor settings were beautifully done and very inviting. The food was authentic Lebanese, rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. It’s a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for the quality and atmosphere. Customer service was top-notch—A+! The best part? Everything is halal. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Absolutely outstanding! Butcher’s Grille in Houston has the best atmosphere warm, inviting, clean and beautiful. Parking was super easy, which is always a plus. The attendants were amazingly friendly and genuinely nice, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. And the food… absolutely phenomenal! All the dishes we order were 10 star. Every bite was bursting with flavor, easily the best I’ve ever tasted. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommended!

We had an enjoyable first lunch at butchers grille! The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere. It has a clean, fresh, calm, and welcoming environment. Even though the restaurant was full it didn’t feel loud and we were able to enjoy our conversations. The food was delicious! The menu had so many options that sounded incredible that it was hard to choose. I appreciated that they have pictures of everything on their website so I was able to visually see what each dish looked like. Everything was flavorful and fresh tasting! The portion sizes were good. Some of the things we ordered and all shared: Appetizers: the Rueben egg rolls, fried Mac and cheese balls, and falafel plate Salads: apple pecan chicken fattoush salad and tabbouleh salad (the salads were my favorite!) Dishes: double skewer plate and C.B.R. wrap The service was decent. We had to ask our server multiple times for her to remember some things we asked for. Our fried Mac and cheese balls were also delivered cold so we had them sent back. We appreciated that they came back warmed up. Butchers grille is a great Lebanese restaurant and we look forward to coming back another time!

Yelp
We absolutely love The Butcher's Grill. The atmosphere is relaxed and feels comfortable, with attention to cleanliness as well. The service is excellent and the staff are often offering refills of water as they pass by, which is a plus. There are so many choices of food--from stuffed grape leaves, hummus, and kibbeh to their pitas, salads, and, of course, their steaks! Everything is always served with pride and perfection!

Yelp
The atmosphere is very nice and the establishment is very clean. I like that the tables and chairs are comfortable and go very well with the floors. I appreciate that the tables and floors are not sticky and kept clean. The service has been very efficient and friendly. The servers are dressed well in uniform. The cheque and to go boxes are branded. I like the presentation and effort that the butchers grille is putting into providing a good dining experience. I ordered the creamy chicken, the butchers board, and the beef shawarma egg rolls. The creamy chicken is miraculous! Chicken is cooked perfectly, it is moist, well balanced, the cranberry rice is also very delicious and flavorful, mushroom really did the trick! As long as that chicken is cooked the way that I got it, this will be a go to for me! I hate dry and overcooked chicken. The butchers board with rib eye, delicious. The green sauce is very flavorful and not too overwhelming. I asked for my steak medium and they delivered as ordered. The shoestring fries are a deal maker. The salad dressing is refreshing. A bit tangy and very well balanced with the other goodies on the board. The garlic bread is a must, if it was thinly sliced like crostini, it would be an easier grab and bite. Nonetheless amazing!!! The beef shawarma egg rolls were a slight miss because the beef was a little dry. Something more refreshing in them or over them like tabouli or cucumber yogurt dip would enhance it a bit. I felt like the cumin rub on the outside was a little strong. Maybe next time, I'll get the chicken option.

Yelp
New spot in the old Dish Society space. The inside is completely redone and has an upscale vibe. Non alcohol establishment. Service hit and miss. Food was mostly just ok. All meats were a bit over the doneness we asked for. Good: Walnut Shrimp was tasty and the apple added nice brightness. Fattoush salad had a sweet/tart dressing and pomegranate seeds. Lamb chops had great flavor and even though they were medium and not medium rare (what we requested) they were still tender. Carrot cake was not too sweet and the icing was surprisingly light. No so good: Garden Whisperer mocktail was bland. Falafel was hard and dense. Creamy crab rounds - besides the name we wouldn't know there was crab involved. Good flavors on the Grand skewer plate but the chicken tawook was tender but mushy(?) and the other skewers over temp. Overall the place is fine but unless I lived in the apartments above I probably wouldn't make the trip back.

Yelp
An export from Dearborn, that I've been hearing raves about, was so excited to try! I didn't realize that it was a part of an apartment complex, so parking is within an apartment complex garage. The first two floors are dedicated to retail parking, and once I found the place, parking was ample! This place is described as refined- yet casual, and I'd have to agree. The menu is vast, with steaks, burgers, loaded fries, and your typical Mediterranean options such as hummus, baba ganouj, and Kibbeh. They also have mocktails- we tasted the rose water spritz, and sunset mimosa. My friend found her spritz to be refreshing but my mimosa was just ok. My friend loved her steak, and said the medium rare was cooked to perfection. She loved the sauce that came with it. I equally loved my burger. It had an onion ring and bacon (beef) that added such great texture and crisp to the burger. It was all perfectly seasoned and mouthwatering to think about now. I could easily see myself visiting again, and I really want to try their loaded fries and hot chicken sandwich next time. I will say my burger took awhile coming out, and my side was then cold. My companion also didn't dig in waiting for my food so her food was cold- this was unfortunate. The place is new, so I do think this is growing pains and worth forgiving given how good everything was. Lastly, I've visited both Egypt and Morocco, and this places interior reminded me of both of those places. Very clean lines, symmetry, and great lighting.

Yelp
Came here with friends for dinner and we had a great time. Appetizer favorites were the walnut shrimp (tasty twist on an asian dish) and the fattoush salad (pomegranate was a nice refreshing touch). Falafel was rather dense and dry. Crab cheese rounds were lacking in crab flavor. The burger was so so. The skewers were nicely seasoned. The lamb chops were delightfully tender. Carrot cake was tasty and not too heavy.

Yelp
Dear foodie readers, i'm extremely excited to share this review... it's about time Houston got a Lebanese restaurant that is really nice, has delicious food, and great service...our server Tran was wonderful from beginning to end. She had great recommendations, and was genuinely excited to see how much we enjoyed them. Everything we had was extremely fresh, and tasty. The tabbouleh knocks it out of the park, the babaganoush is the best I have had in town, the mixed grill was so flavorful and tender I can't wait to go back for more. We ended it with the kenafeh, yummy yum yum...highly recommend reservations, it's a small place, enjoy!!

Yelp
In terms of service, meals, presentation, vibe; Butcher's is 3 - 5 notches above any other Lebanese restaurant in the City. My wife and I sampled 1/4 of the menu, plan to be back to sample more! A modern twist on standard dishes keeps your palate on its toes

Yelp
This restaurant is so so so goodddd. First off the food is a 11/10 the burgers are to die for both the beef on and chicken one. They are so filling and yummy, ugh I love it. The vibe of the place is perfect. The people there are also all very nice. It was definitely a pleasant lunch experience.

Yelp
I stopped by with friends to try this place out on Saturday night and it was packed. The place is small so noise carried and it felt suffocating with no A/C. I did not get to try the food since we decided to go elsewhere due to the long wait. Did not like the atmosphere and lack of ventilation.

Yelp
The service was great and the food came out hot and quickly! I got the CBR wrap and it was deliciouss, you don't know how happy I was to have a wrap with halal bacon!!! The fattoush was really fresh and the cheese rolls were crispy and warm, reminded me of the ones I had in Turkey. Would 100% recommend. The ambiance was also great. I see great things for this new restaurant, exactly what Houston needs!

Yelp
Very pretty and upscale environment. The ambiance was perfect. The food was fantastic. I had a kale salad and eggplant that was tops. I will be back soon!
