Cambridge Public House - Review - Le Marais - Paris - The Infatuation

"Take an English pub that makes impeccable cocktails, put it in one of the most talked-about Paris neighborhoods, and you get Cambridge Public House. This place is conviviality, beer, meat pies, wood paneling, and cocktails served in dainty etched glasses, all in one. Whether you’re sitting at the bar or one of the tables next to a stuffed animal head, you’ll find camaraderie among the after-work crowd and casually dressed groups here to gossip over a beer or a Cigarette After Sex cocktail with gin and mezcal. They also offer half-sized classic cocktails or Cambridge creations for tiny appetites. RESERVE A TABLE" - Tanisha Townsend

The 24 Best Bars in Paris

"No you’re not in London, but yes this is most definitely a British-inspired watering hole. Denoted as such by the three co-founders, who met and worked in the Big Smoke, this pub in the Marais is always popping. You may have to speak an octave higher than normal over the Tears for Fears blasting from the speakers to hear whomever you’re chatting with. While you can book one of the tables or plush velvet banquettes, there’s a room-for-everyone vibe at the living room-esque space (complete with a Chesterfield couch) where the distinguished color scheme includes forest greens and woodsy browns and the deco includes 18th century oil paintings of hounds. The cocktails change regularly, and there’s always a weekly special such as the recent Trance Dance featuring apple, cinnamon, gingerbread, and rum. Menus are in English, and each drink is listed with three easy adjectives to help describe them such as “velvety, earthy, fresh” for the signature Cigarette After Sex, which has been on the menu since the bar opened in 2019." - Sara Lieberman

Google
Atmosphere: 7/10 In the heart of Paris’ 3rd arrondissement, Cambridge Public House feels more like an upscale pub than a traditional cocktail bar. The wood-accented interior, modest but authentic pub-style back bar, and mixed crowd give it a laid-back charm. Music is at a comfortable volume, and the space has a warm, social energy — a casual neighborhood hangout rather than a high-concept bar. Drinks: 7/10 Recommendation: Distant Echo Menu is short and to the point — eight house cocktails plus one weekly rotating creation. Above-average glassware, though no coasters. Garnishes are simple, and presentation is basic but neat. Drinks have good flavor balance without pushing boundaries. Service: 8.5/10 Water served on arrival. The team is friendly, professional, and keeps the flow running smoothly. Prices are average for Paris.

Google
A really pleasant bar with surprisingly good food and well-crafted drinks. They offer a set cocktail menu with unique and enjoyable flavors, but they’re also happy to mix something custom based on your preferences—or make any classic you’re in the mood for. Everything is made to order, which is a big plus. More places should move away from fully pre-mixed cocktails—this bar shows how great it can be when drinks are crafted on the spot.

Google
The Cambridge in Paris was outstanding! The parsnip cocktail, Stars Align, is truly exceptional—unique, smooth, and beautifully balanced, I hate parsnips but this was so good. It's warm, attentive service and a stylish atmosphere make this spot an absolute must-visit we booked ahead as we wanted to garenty a table but they do walk ins as well.

Very chic yet cozy. Drinks are very good. Not too experimental yet interesting. Prices are unbeatable for that quality! (14 per cocktail/7 per small)

The Cambridge Public House is a cosy cocktail bar dressed up as an English pub. After waiting for a few minutes for a seat, we were led to seats at the bar. All the servers we interacted with were really friendly and spoke French and English fluently...we even heard some Spanish and Italian too! The atmosphere was very welcoming and the other patrons were a mix of nationalities and ages. We tried the "Mini Bevs" to set the mood, a selection of 3 small creative cocktails, then afterwards we moved onto some stronger classic cocktails such as martinis. The bathrooms are simple, but the Rituals hand soap was a nice touch. This was the final bar we visited in Paris and we will certainly be back during our next trip. I cannot comment on the food, but they have small bar snacks such a sausage rolls and mini pies if you get peckish.

Google
Cozy place in the heart of Paris. Friendly service and a warm atmosphere make it a great spot to relax. We loved it so much that we went twice during our Paris trip and we’ll definitely be back!!

Google
My wife and I booked a reservation because it is one of the premier bars in the world, and it truly is! The cocktails were phenomenal, unique, and memorable. The service was superb, both quick and kind. They have cocktails and mocktails if you do not drink. If you can get a reservation, it is a must visit!

Google
Top tier service. We got a seat at the bar and saw the bartender make his creations. Everyone was welcoming. The cocktails were top tier. Saw them hand make their pork rolls. There is a “cocktail of the week. Also served beer (Guinness included). The French pay attention to detail and we loved it.

Yelp
First of all when we came we didn't have a reservation (not knowing they did that) but we were still seated right away! The drinks are not only fun but having half size allowed us to try a few things. While the food was more "snack" size it was still plenty for us. As expected it was a loud bar style atmosphere but not so loud that we couldn't have a good conversation. Great place, highly recommend!

Yelp
Love this bar. Tried 3 cocktails and all were tasty and unique. Worth the visit! They also have a recommended local list from the staff which we thought that was sweet!

Yelp
One of the 3 bars in Paris currently on the Worlds 50 Best list. This has a neighborhood pub vibe to it - cozy dark space. Friendly and accommodating staff as one would expect. The drinks measure up to being the best out there.....Definitely worthy of a visit - probably best if no more than 4 in your group, as it is a small-ish space.

Yelp
Wow, they make you feel special when you walk in the door. They make amazing cocktails and we wanna come back next time. We are in Paris.

Yelp
I can't rate this place highly enough. I'll start with the staff, who was warm and welcoming and spoke English but didn't mind when I tried out my limited French. It's a small local bar, feels like a pub but decidedly French. The ingredients are freshly sourced, but the twist is they use everything. You can watch them peel the oranges for the orange juice, but then they purée the peels, run them through a cheese cloth, and use reduction that to make syrups. The food is limited, but for bar fare outstanding. We had olives and the sausage roll, but were sitting next to Danish folks (now friends) who had other options and raved about it.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite restaurants in Paris. British pub food in an elegant French vibe with French cooking methods. The cocktails and service were also very good. The atmosphere is very unique. Definitely check it out!

Yelp
Cute little cocktail bar. Stopped in here after being unable to get in at a different spot - didn't mind coming here instead! I got a gin drink, very well made but maybe a little stronger than I prefer. I was also hoping for a snack but we were told the kitchen was already closed. Not sure what happened, but the table next to us (seated after us) was able to order food. So maybe we misunderstood about the kitchen, or maybe they ordered in advance and it was ready when they got there, or maybe we needed to be more insistent about the food. Either way, no snacks for us. The vibe was a darker aesthetic, low lighting, plush velvet. Cool place.

Yelp
Perfect late afternoon experience. The cocktails were unique and delicious. The music was a vibe. We sat at the bar and were helped by the owner who was so gracious and lovely. He gave us a list of some of his favorite places in Paris and we had a lovely hour or more swapping stories and learning about the craft ingredients included in the libations. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
A smartly decorated British pub with a slightly modern feel. The music was absolutely on point. Excellent cocktail offerings as well as beer and wine selection. Greg (I think) and France were our bartenders, A+. Don't sleep on the food. I thought I was getting a basic bar bite to soak up a few drinks. What I got was the best sausage roll I've ever had. We stopped in for a quick drink and ended up closing the place down. One of our best nights in town. I'm pretty sure this place is fairly new so enjoy a mellow weeknight here before the crowd catches on, which is inevitable.
