Such a phenomenal experience at the capital grille. Food was amazing. My steak was cooked perfectly and omg!!! That stoli doli drink is amazing 🤩 our server was very polite and attentive. And the price was very reasonable.

We had a fantastic Generous Pour dinner. Thomas was an amazing server/wine sommelier. We love this event every year. We had filets (gorgonzola crust w/cabernet reduction) and (Konami coffee crusted with caramelized onions) Au gratin potatoes & creamed corn with bacon. Tried the double cut bacon too. Wow! Flavors were fantastic. Tasted great. We will be bringing friends the next time!

Our server Thomas went above and beyond to make my girlfriend have a special night. There was a very sweet card with congratulatory decorations on the table, celebratory champagne and the most tasteful desserts. The supporting staff also did an excellent job ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the experience. All of this and I haven’t even mentioned the food yet - which was insanely tasty. We ordered the sesame seared tuna, Caesar salad and au gratin potatoes and my girlfriend’s words were, “Everything we ordered was a 10/10” and believe me, she does not score things lightly. Thank you Capital Grille for a truly elevated dining experience and thank you Thomas and the staff for making the celebratory night one to remember for my girlfriend and I.

One of the better steakhouses in Austin. The oysters were super fresh and tasty (sourced from Connecticut). The steak was amazing and cooked perfectly. I had the dry aged ribeye. The Dirty Goose cocktail was just perfect. Friendly service and lovely ambiance.

My boyfriend took me to The Capital Grille to celebrate my recent promotion, and we had an incredible time! Our server Thomas was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. They were very kind to give us a couple of complimentary items to congratulate me, and I felt very cared for and celebrated. The food and drinks were amazing as well. 10/10 experience!

Highly recommend the blackberry side car. We ordered the NY dry aged steak which was perfectly done and the bone in ribeye with the asparagus and potatoes al gratin. The potatoes were okay... I think the cheese may have separated it was very graining. But the staff was incredible. Chris, Layla, Chase and Erik were wonderful and engaging.

Such a special place!! Staff is always, always so lovely. My husband and I had one of our first dates here as well as plenty of family birthdays and special holidays. Delicious, moody, vibey. Can’t go wrong.

Every time me and my husband go to The Capital Grill it is always phenomenal. The atmosphere is quite and beautiful. The service is always top tier. We usually receive moderate service as we are quite young so it was refreshing to have amazing servers. We get something different every time and each item is amazing. The steak is cooked perfectly, the servers give us amazing options for wine. The desserts are delicious especially paired with a coffee. It is my absolute favorite place for fine dining.

Yelp
Had a gorgeous business dinner at the Capital Grille! The ambiance is lovely, staff are friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious - we had a set menu of steak, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a lovely chocolate souffle-cake-like dessert. I was totally stuffed and really enjoyed the experience. Interestingly I didn't realize this place was a chain, but I saw a location when walking the streets of Mexico City - so it certainly is! Nevertheless, it has the kind of outstanding flavors you'd get at any quite upscale steakhouse. It has immaculate bathrooms! Parking is a bit cumbersome, they have a valet but otherwise it's your standard downtown street parking. Overall really enjoyed the experience here even though it was for a specific event! Would gladly go back any time.

Yelp
Came in for a friend's birthday and they were able to accommodate the 10 person celebration flawlessly. They were attentive from start to finish, and provided cake service as well. All dishes came out together and were all very impressive looking, and what is to be expected from a higher end steak house. The cooks were excellent on all of the proteins, and all sauces were very flavorful. They also provided a separate gluten-free menu for me, and were able to accommodate me further with my other dietary restrictions. Overall it was a good spot for a solid nice birthday dinner.

Yelp
Let me tell you about the beet salad... The beet salad is so incredible that I would never abandon it. I would never tell it that it couldn't talk about work. I would give it so much love and affection. I would never tell it that I loved it and not mean it. That's how good it is. Thank you for everything you've done for me beet salad. Also, Chris, our bartender, handled the beet salad with great love and tenderness. 10 out of 10.. I would eat here again. PS I would take a picture but the beet salad was eaten.

Yelp
Lovely evening at The Capital Grille My dad recommended the veal tomahawk and it was delicious! Though not on the menu, the waitress offered a selection of mocktails and the one I had was great and reasonably priced. I loved the lobster mac & cheese though the creamed corn was a bit crunchy. I enjoyed how the staff packed up our to-go boxes, a very nice touch.

Yelp
A lovely experience, this restaurant group reliably delivers a high quality dining experience as well as food. We ordered the Sesame Seared Tuna as well as the Dry Aged Strip au Pouivre. Both were done well - cooked to the perfect sear and temperature. We also split the lobster mac and cheese with generous portions of lobster that almost left me wanting to order a second. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they brought out a complimentary brulee cheesecake and (decaf) espresso chocolate cake. A perfect spot for a celebratory dinner.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at this spot! The atmosphere was perfect with jazz music that really set the mood. I tried the Veal Chop paired with some mouth watering mushrooms that sadly ended with the crème brûlée, and it was divine! I also had a drink that paired perfectly with dessert. Sorry folks, I didn't catch the name of the drink, but it had vodka and pineapple dole, and it paired perfectly with the crème brûlée! Ralph and the other wonderful servers made the drink. Ask for him he may know. I love how it's a great place to unwind and just watch the world go by. Highly recommend checking it out! BTW peeps the half eaten crème brûlée is what y'all get. The rest was gone before I took my camera out

Yelp
Excellent server and staff Several years ago, I had a wonderful birthday dinner in the dining room. It was a great experience and I had the Wagy burger several years ago and it was a great experience, but four of us went last night for the burger and wine and wine was delicious but our burgers we decided were the least favorite of any we had in the city they were dry had no flavor and very little cheese , quite a disappointment. Hopefully it was a one off night, but we had been looking forward to it and we're quite disappointed with the burger itself.

Yelp
We were downtown on business and several of my favorite Yelp friends highly recommended this place. For those of you who are old enough to remember, this used to be the old spaghetti warehouse back in the day. We started with couple alcoholic beverages and our very informative friendly waiter recommended the In Fashion bourbon cocktail which I have to admit was really good. Next came a complimentary basket of bread. If you are seated in the back room, you'll have an impressive wine cellar on one side of you and an open kitchen behind glass on the other. This place does have a very nice upscale vibe to it, but the prices aren't overly exorbitant. You get white linen service here where they scrape the crumbs off the table between courses. If you're interested in entertaining guests privately, they do have three private rooms to choose from. We started with the pan fried calamari which was absolutely fantastic and probably the most tender calamari I've ever had. It was the perfect balance of savoriness and heat. They don't serve the calamari with a side of marinara or anything, but it did not need any extra help, it was perfect the way it was. Since it was lunchtime, we both opted for their wagyu cheeseburger cooked the way you like it. It didn't come with any condiments so you'll have to ask for the ketchup, mayo, and mustard. The appetizer, the burger and fries were so filling that we had to get dessert to go. We enjoyed the food, ambience, and service so much that lunch was just the dress rehearsal for dinner someday. Check out the enticing and informative photos included.

Yelp
The impeccable service with details is always consistent no matter the location for this steak house. My Sunday night dinner was superb with the oysters on half shell, Wedge with Bleu Cheese & Smoked Bacon and medium Kona-Crusted Dry Aged Bone-In NY Strip with Shallot butter. Yes, I added the tasty South African Lobster Tail for an excellent meal. We go with Creamed Spinach as our side. I shared the Capital Grille Cheesecake Brulee style with berries with my lovely wife and sipped after dinner coffee that was smooth. It was the perfect date night dinner for us.

Yelp
If I could give MORE than 5 stars, I would! This restaurant is the best experience I have had at a restaurant in all my years going to one! It had great "ambiance" (not too loud..can actually talk to your friends at table), great service (by waiter and Manager), and most of all WONDERFUL food! My husband and I went this on a Friday night, and we were running a little late. We took an Uber to get there and thank God for the elevator, as I was in a walking boot and could not do the stairs. The elevator is to the right..and don't get confused, like we almost did..there is a stairway down to a jazz club. Keep going to left and elevator is there. There is no sign in elevator, for which floor (2nd), but knew NOT top floor, at that had sign to to go "RA"-the Sushi place. When we got to hostess desk, we told them of our reservation, and they did not give or table away, and again, thank GOD, we did not have to wait (like most places, still with a reservation). They sat us at a great 4 person table just inside. Now, we got lucky for enjoying the honor, of having the best waiter! I know, you may think I am exaggerating! but, this waiter, right off the bat, we smiling and pleasant (again, nowadays, just that is hard to come by). He asked if we would like drinks. I usually like an "Old Fashioned". He immediately broke out his tablet to show us all the drinks (with great pictures) and say they have a "variation" of it call the "In Fashion" ( Bourbon, Grant Marnier, Black Walnut bitters, orange slice on the ice and cherry). I loved it! Not too sweet, like some bartenders do. Think the Grand Marnier made that drink! Now, my husband tried something he never had, and waiter recommended it, as most popular drink, the "Expresso Martini" ( Vodka, Expresso Liqueur, and expresso shot). He said it was great..have his coffee and cocktail in one drink! Now, for the MAIN event, the FOOD! I had reservations for my birthday at end of December, but could not make it because of ankle broken....this was worth the 2 month wait! I was in the mood for "surf and turf" and had viewed the menu online and thought I knew what I wanted, but our waiter told us of many other things. He told us Cold seafood tower for 2. Oh, yes! TWO lobster tails and 2 claws (had head for presentation, but did not touch that), 4 shrimp X 2 and 4 oysters X 2 for us to share. Cocktail sauce, horseradish, and this GREAT sauce that we used for the oysters (don't remember what it was called but similar to Ponzu sauce with more vinegar and shallots). I used to not like oysters (unless Rockefeller kind), I ate my 3 with this sauce, and they slipped right down (did not even need fork to dislodge it or anything). Only thing missing was some drawn butter for the lobster. But, then RON came out with warm towels infused with lemon and he poured in front of us, hot water over them! WHO does this? So great to get anything off our hands before next round! Now, again, NOT on menu, he described the Oscar sauce could be on top of any choice of steak....GET IT!!! It is lump crab meat put on top of steak in this Hollandaise type sauce with asparagus under the steak. I did it with the Filet Mignon. My husband, keep with "coffee" theme, got the Kona-crusted dry aged NY strip steak with shallot butter. Now, both of us usually like our steak more towards almost "well", but never order that at a nice steak place, we both go for "Medium". But, I always worry, as some cooks like to go more "rare", and for me, not my preference. BOTH came out perfect! Ron explained how the side dishes work, and again, not on menu, they can make smaller for two people, EXCEPT the Lobster Mac and Cheese, as that is already pre-set to cook in that hot iron skillet. But, we went with that anyways, and small order of mashed potatoes. Sides were just ok, my least favorite of everything, but still good. And, Ron, we always checking on us, and got us second round of drinks while we were enjoying our lovely main dishes. Each piece of steak was like a "food gasam"!!! It was like a chocolate Lindt ball, and the steak just MELTED in our mouth! Yes, it was that good! Then the Manager, Sergio came by and we talked with him for a minute. Sergio, was also very pleasant, and we told him of the great service Ron has given us! He was very happy, and said both had been at that location for a long time. Sergio made sure we were well taken care, and we were! Then, Ron presented me with my "belated" birthday dessert! A chocolate cake and cheesecake, both great! Great way to end the night! WE WILL BE BACK!

Yelp
We recently enjoyed a very pleasant dinner at The Capital Grill in Austin. The atmosphere was chill, the service was very good, and the food was excellent :-) Tip: The restaurant is located downtown, so there are good parking options nearby. For my entree, I chose the Tomahawk Veal Chop; my friend went with the aged rib eye. Both cuts of meat were seasoned wonderfully and cooked to perfection - we decided to share and were both completely happy with the meal. I wouldn't hesitate to either recommend this place or to return :-)

Yelp
Fine dining may come and go in Austin but somehow the Capital Grille continues to impress with solid cooking and flawless service. An early hiccup with a big downtown event was quickly rectified by management, who found us an alternative valet location and off we went. Great wine, crab cake, filet Oscar (my favorite usually) - but whoa, the sliced filet with onions and mushrooms was the standout. Antonio is a personable and incredible server, you'd do well to request him. CG doesn't really miss. A safe choice for a celebration where price doesn't matter. (A big thanks to manager Emily who made sure the night was special - she is a huge asset to this place. Beyond kind and professional.)

Yelp
Such delicious steak! I really enjoyed both the tenderloin and the NY strip. They weren't too salty and perfectly seasoned/cooked. So tender and melted in your mouth. Our favorite side dishes were the truffle fries and bacon Brussel sprouts. Both were amazing. Brussel sprouts were crispy, sweet and savory. Beautiful ambiance, perfect date night spot. Our waiter was very attentive.

Yelp
What a restaurant!!! 1000/10!!! I just went for my birthday to have a nice dinner and it didn't disappoint. The food was amazing, the steak cut like butter, the potatoes were beautiful, the mashed potatoes were soft and creamy and the lobster was a little pillow of delicious. I'm going to dream of this place for a while.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was off this evening. Waiter seemed distracted and forgot drink orders or food orders. If one cannot recall - perhaps write it down?

Yelp
Capital Grille always takes such great care of us! Organized a work holiday luncheon in their wine room. Plenty of room for a group of 12 and I loved that they had the TV displayed with a fire place image. Perfectly set the tone for our holiday luncheon. Staff was very attentive. I went with the Salmon with Couscous. It was divine. Full of all the right flavors. All our sides were amazing. My favorites was the lobster Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts.

Yelp
Went here a birthday, they went above and beyond with table decorations of confetti, complementary dessert and amazing service, I lived in Colorado and used to go here for my birthday every year and regardless of city or location they never disappoint! Lamb chops could feed a village, so delicious, and the espresso martini was the revival much needed after a food coma. Never forget to get the lobster Mac. An icon aim and of itself. Great food, better service, best atmosphere!

Yelp
I had dental surgery earlier that day and my mouth was in pain but I just kept eating. That's how good the food was. The server was awesome and wanted to make sure we were taken care of which isn't always the case at other places. The restaurant is beautiful and just what you would expect for an Austin Downtown Top Notch Steakhouse.

Yelp
I been hesitant on writing this review. I made reservations for two a month in advance for my birthday trip to Austin Texas at 7pm. We arrive 5 minutes early. I take a look around the whole restaurant. Very nice place, too bad I sat in the far back room away from everything else. I figured it was their party room but it slowly started to feel like something else. As I walked to the bathroom I wondered why the colored people were all sat in the room I was in. As each party in that room left, another diverse couple would sit down without fail. Please spread us out Capital grill, you are making it segregated in there. Based on a few other reviews I don't think this should be the case. We waited 30 minutes to order food for the food to come out an hour later. It gave me too much time to look around. I ordered the filet mignon and I will objectively say that it was a pretty clean cut. It was a little over cooked for medium rare but not so that I would send it back and wait another hour. After finishing my dessert, I hear a table behind me had a birthday as well. They bring them a Cheesecake with some chocolate cake on the house. The same dessert I had just purchased and paid for, for free. I wasn't the one paying for the dessert my girlfriend was, so it didn't come out of my pocket, but I did not expect to find out they pick favorites.

Yelp
What a huge disappointment. Business dinner in one of the private rooms. Important client, top executives, high ticket wines and food. Polite enough staff, delayed order being taken, fairly quick salads but then... two hour delay until mains came out. No updates, no apologies, nothing until finally it was almost too late for dinner. I asked the server, who apologized and said dinner was coming right out. 20 minutes later I had to ask the manager as the food was still not out. His only excuse was that they had 3 other large parties at the same time. Not sure that made sense as the rest of the restaurant was 2/3rds empty so if true then maybe you shouldn't be taking group reservations. For me, getting my dinner served at 9pm (we had 6pm reservation) was just to late to eat. Sad to say that this was a deal breaker. I won't be back and certainly won't have any events there. The night before had another similar dinner at JPrime (just a few blocks away) and it was the complete opposite. Similar size party, they were much fuller, but they killed it! Sorry Capital Grill, poor performance, but worst of all extremity poor guest service. Delays happen, and a little courtesy and notification goes a long way to make it better.

Corina H.

Yelp
Amazing place!! Steak was cooked to perfection!! Service was good and the setting was just what we needed for our date night!! I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or just a great dinner!!

Yelp
Capital Grill is always a good reliable go to place no matter Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, etc. one of my favorites.

Yelp
We went here for the first time to experience the Generous Pour (wine tasting event) - and weren't disappointed. Each of the wine selections were incredible. I can't remember the region or any other wine details but they paired perfectly with our meal. As someone who is just starting to like wine - I was wanting more. As for our meal, we both ordered the spinach salad (spinach and field greens, goat cheese, fresh berries, toasted almonds, citrus-chili vinaigrette) which was light, fresh and simply delicious. I ordered the Seared Tenderloin with Butter Poached Lobster Tails and my wife ordered the sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions, Wild Mushrooms and Fig Essence. Since it was our anniversary, our waiter gave us some dessert on the house - the Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake and something else to try. While the Generous Pour is now done - we highly recommend for 2023!

Yelp
Absolutely Amazing!! I had one of the best Birthday dinners ever! They pulled out all the stops especially the Chef!! I was literally craving a steak burger and then Chef Ken went out of his way to make it with Truffle fries on the side!! Everyone was great! Most friendly and heartwarming service I had in years! They definitely gained a regular customer!! Also they decorated the table for my Birthday and brought out a Birthday cheesecake and amazing chocolate cake too!! Will be back here next weekend for Lunch! It's a nice dark moody ambience and my flash wasn't working for some reason so sorry if the pics are kind of dark!

Yelp
Had a reservation with my GF. Showed up 10 minutes early, got sat immediately and then waited for service at our table for 45 minutes to no avail. That wouldn't even fly at your local chilis. Ended up leaving and going to Perry's
google avatar

Yelp
Came with a group of six for our last night in town before heading home. I ordered the Lobster Bisque for my starter and the Oscar Filet, Medium Rare, for my main. The Lobster Bisque was absolutely perfect. I had pepper added and it was simply devine. I highly recommend. The Oscar Filet was absolutely perfect. The table shared some Brussel Sprouts and Creamed Corn, which made the dinner fantastic. Paired with a 2016 Trésor, all amazing. We all shared a Creme Brulee and although it was more than we should have eaten, it was fantastic. The servers were wonderful and managed to do everything without any perceived interference.

Yelp
Lousy! Lousy service and lousy food! The manager just stayed out in the kitchen, even though there were many tables waiting and looking around! Nothing came together the entrées came, and then the sides came by the time we were done with the entrées it took us forever to even get a cup of bisque! Not a Capitol Grille!!
google avatar

Yelp
We love coming to Capital Grille! First one we visited was in New York and the location in Austin did not disappoint either. With a classy and intimate ambiance, you can be certain it will always set the mood! The service has always been on point, you can tell everyone working there really cares about service quality. They start off by bringing you a basket of assorted breads and butter which are all so good but my personal favorite is the onion loaf! The steaks are always top notch and decently priced, they have a wedge salad with the biggest chunks of bacon, delicious. The only thing I'm not crazy about is their ranch dressing for such a nice place it just doesn't meet the standard of everything else on the menu. It taste very "store bought" like Kraft. My absolute favorite though is the lobster bisque! The last time I went that's all I got was a big bowl of the lobster bisque and I was stuffed. So delicious and even more so with a few pieces of the onion loaf bread. Will always be a go to spot and highly recommend!

Yelp
Great wine selection and great steaks. Oysters were huge and fresh. Great ambience for after dinner drinks too.

Yelp
My favorite thing I have ever eaten in my life is the crab cake here. My experience overall was great, but that crab cake deserves to be savored!
google avatar

Jorena L.

Yelp
My family loves celebrating birthdays here! They sprinkle cute birthday confetti on the table and had delicious complimentary champagne. Love the bread basket especially the pumpernickel. I had the seared tenderloin with butter poached lobster tails. The lobster was perfectly cooked and fresh. I would probably get the tenderloin medium rare next time because it was a little dry. Other things ordered include - Porcini rubbed bone-In ribeye: the best one. Very tender and juicy! - sliced filet mignon: probably the least favorite. Too dry and probably needs a sauce. - dry aged Ny Strip au poivre: well cooked and good sauce. - au gratin potatoes: perfection - Brussel sprouts: best way to cook Brussel sprouts We finished with complimentary flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake, both of which were amazing.

Yelp
What a night it was! A night spent with a friend culminated into a stellar experience at the Capital Grille, Austin. We started with the crab/lobster cakes. They come with a grilled lemon and a side corn salad. The fresh crab meat and lobster flavors were pronounced, the seasoning was immaculate. I made myself the perfect bite of cake, lemon juice, corn salad, and tar tar sauce...my eyes rolled back. Next was the caesar salad and lobster bisque. The croutons on the caesar salad were delicious, crusted with parmesan cheese. The lobster bisque, complemented with some cognac absolutely slapped. I saved some of the bisque for the next part. Finally, the main. The porcini crusted ribeye is to die for. I saved some of my soup to pour over my mashed potatoes for lobster mashed potatoes. YOU MUST TRY THIS. The service: Gary took wonderful care of us. He was friendly, funny, and attentive with strong grasp of the menu as well. During our meal, Gary cut his hand in the kitchen and was unable to serve us for a time. Emily the manager, and Nick (who looks JUST like Nick Offerman), and another waiter, Julian I think, stepped in. Emily was terrific and ensured we were taken care of and Nick was absolutely hilarious! All in all, a 9/10 experience at the Capital Grille. Other restaurants should take a page out of their book because the bar has been set!

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Wonderful drinks. Attentive server. Go for the "In Fashion," a smooth, updated twist on an Old Fashion. Salad, veal chop, sides, and dessert were all on point. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Usually I'm not a fan of chain-restaurants, not even the high end ones, but for me Capital Grille is a welcome exception to the rule.  That's because after several visits at various locations, their service, food, and ambiance have always been exceptional.  This visit to their Austin location was no different. I was meeting an old friend to catch up over dinner, and after we took time out at his place to chat and raise a glass, by the time we arrived at Capital Grille it was close to closing time.  A lot of restaurants will make 11th hour visitors feel unwelcome, but we were greeted with smiles and given a totally unhurried, delightful dining experience! Our server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing.  She gave us several spot-on recommendation, starting with a Malbec from Argentina's Mendoza Valley, which paired beautifully with our steaks.   For dinner, I started off with a cup of butternut bisque (delicious!).  For my entree, to celebrate being back in Texas, I opted for the filet mignon with mushrooms.  Served with a side of asparagus, the steak was flavorful, perfectly seasoned and cooled to my exact specification (medium rare); beautifully marbled and incredible tender, I could have cut it with my butter knife ;-) After a leisurely and wonderfully enjoyable meal, we finished off by sharing a taste creme brûlée and drinking espresso.  When the check came I was pleased to note that given the quality of the ambiance, food, and service, the prices were quite reasonable.  I look forward to returning for another exceptional meal soon!

Yelp
Firstly, the service was excellent as my waiter was very attentive, but not too intrusive. I ordered the bone-in kona crusted NY Strip, and it was great. The steak came out perfectly medium rare, which was exactly what I wanted. Side items: we ordered mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and asparagus, and they were really good.

Yelp
Was attending the MotoGP Race at COTA and was looking for a place to eat Sunday evening. The restaurant had a reservation available for the time we were looking for. There is parking nearby, I think we got lucky, and the restaurant is located downtown. Seated our party of eight a little early and the service was excellent from the moment we walked in. Food was excellent and definitely worth a visit. Drinks, appetizers, main courses and desserts were the best we ate all weekend. Thank you Capital Grille and we will be back next year.

Yelp
Amazing 10oz filet. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Caesar salad dressing has more of bright flavor than I am use to but everything else is just amazing. They age their steaks in-house. We will be back!

Yelp
- service (5 stars): it took a while for us to order the foods but they made up by offering calamari. They are quick and attentive later. - foods (3 stars): dry aged NY strips are dried. All the sides (salads, cream spinach, Au Gratin potato are flavorful. We split the meats since it's 32 ounces) - Ambience: this austin location has more cool groups of people. It's suitable for family, date, groups of friends. In general, I would definitely go back because it's fun.

Yelp
Got sick there the other night. I ordered the seared "sushi-grade" tuna rare. It was cold in the middle and the texture seemed weird so I stopped eating it. I eat sushi all the time and never got sick. But I was sick for a day and a half after my dinner there. Service and ambiance are nice but the food is not.

Yelp
Came for a birthday celebration. Chris G took great care of us, recommend getting seated in his section, very attentive. Everything we ate was amazing, highly recommend the lobster mac n cheese and Brussel sprouts.

Yelp
Food service from check in to leaving! Top notch, Food is DELICIOUS, appetizers, dessert..., Took a pic of the sea bass, very good ( I prefer more on the sashimi side cooked), steaks were AMAZING and cut like BUTT-A EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! One thing though I HAVE TO SAY..., Our table was cluttered with finished martini glasses , appetizers plates, forks knives! That TRULY BUGGED me, our table spent at LEAST 1,000.00 - you'd THINK someone would notice and be on top of that part of our dining experience ‍ Oh well maybe NOW they will. Server's should, in my opinion, take our order make sure we're happy along the journey and NOT BUSS our table too. Maybe if there was a nice system where the servers give a percentage ( that they all agree on), FOR helping clear during our whole dining experience ? Tip well, be a gracious guest, and till next tine

Yelp
Always consistent and a great familiar spot to have a date night, work dinner, or celebration. Easy reservations online. Get the seafood grand plateau you won't be disappointed! Lobster, oysters....great way to start a celebration!

Yelp
We love this place and have celebrated many occasions here. Tonight it's Father's Day... his pick! Food was delicious as always but... no cheesecake period! Could not believe they would run out on Father's Day.

Yelp
Wow, great facility and staff. It was pretty much perfect. The bread to start was awesome, including salted butter. Then onto the first course which was mixed greens. At 120 calories it was filling and kyung. The main course for me was a salmon in a white sauce. Perfect. Good amount and great taste. The total price was $24 for the entire meal.

Yelp
I've lived in Austin my entire life and this is easily the best steakhouse/fine dining experience in the city. The restaurant is beautiful without being pretentious, and the service is great without being "too much". Since it was our anniversary, the server offered us complimentary champagne, which was unexpected and a very nice touch. We ordered the prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella as an appetizer and loved it. For dinner, I ordered the tenderloin with lobster tails and it was possibly the best restaurant steak I've ever had. My husband ordered the filet and he was amazed, which NEVER happens! We also ordered sides of the au gratin potatoes and sautéed spinach, both of which were delicious. Our server finished the meal by bringing us a complimentary dessert plate with minis of the cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. We really can't say enough great things about this restaurant, it was the BEST experience!

Yelp
This is a truly wonderful place. Great staff, always attentive, remarkably great food and a tremendous wine selection. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Seated fairly promptly, ordered a bowl of chowder to split, and a filet mignon and a Dry-aged NY strip with mashed potatoes. Anytime you see a bunch of guys in suits, you know it will be expensive but capitol Grille is reasonable for the location and atmosphere. Still, more for a business meeting than a date. Steaks were done right. I'm not sure anything really distinguishes this place from any of a dozen other similar restaurants.

Yelp
Thank goodness there is still a place you can count on every single time to be the best of the best in Austin. And that is Capital Grille! The service is 5 star (Lori Ann & Jackie) the food is 5 star and the atmosphere is 5 star and it is my favorite wine list in Austin, also 5 star. Last night I started with the lobster bisque and I've never had so much lobster in a cup of this before, anywhere! Flavor was rich, had depth and perfect level of creaminess! I also love it when they offer to drizzle dry Sherry on top, which I did! The porcini rubbed, bone in rib-eye with 15 year AGED balsamic on top is to die for. I make a copycat recipe at home and use the best prime ribeye and aged balsamic I can find along with making my own porcini powder but I can't get near how tender and mouth watering this is. Perfect with a side of their mashed potatoes! The desserts are all amazing as well. I can't decide which is my favorite, the crème brûlée or the cheesecake with a tiny bit of brûlée on top with vanilla wafer crust! You can't go wrong with anything at Capital Grille in my opinion. Lunch is just as good! The ambiance is all that too. And not loud!! If it's something special you're looking for, this is it!
