Such an awesome find! Amazing flavors and so many GF options! Love supporting small business!

Google
A gluten free southern girl’s dream! Most of the fried foods are Celiac safe gluten free. And they are delicious and fried to crispy perfection! And this might be the only place in the GNO where I’ve found gluten free fried mozzarella cheese sticks. Even their dipping sauces are amazing. The owners are kind, professional and consistently delivery a positive customer service experience. I’ve visited with gluten eaters who are just as impressed with the food as I am. So I highly recommend!

Google
This spot is worth finding. It’s tucked away in a strip mall but once you step inside it’s clean with bright cheery colors and beautifully themed art without being cluttered. The food is amazing. They are a dedicated gluten free fried kitchen. They do serve gluten containing items but they are very knowledgeable about cross contamination. It’s owned and run by a husband and wife team that are dedicated and passionate about good food and excellent service. Stop in and you will not be disappointed.

Google
Wonderful spot with delicious gluten free fried food and several other GF non fried options. It's so nice to have so many options on one menu. The fried cheese bites were SO GOOD. And the most perfectly fried oysters I've ever had. 👏👏👏 Service was prompt and friendly.

If you're looking for fresh abs perfectly seasoned seafood, this is the place! We visited here for a late lunch, and it was very good. The food was served hot, and the waitress was very attentive. Pictured is the fried fish platter, blackened speckled trout, and seasoned garlic shrimp. Would recommend and visit again!

Google
Busy even after lunch. We had to wait a short time to be seated as they were short handed. Once we were waited on the service was attentive and friendly. The food was excellent! We tried several dishes that were recommended to us by the waitress and were we not disappointed. The Fisherman's platter was stuffed full of fish, shrimp, clams and onion rings. The batter was light and crispy and flavorful all by itself. The tartar sauce is homemade with a light dill flavor and not overly sweet. The Seafood Gumbo was excellent with a choice of how spicy you like it. Packed full of fresh seafood. The Blackend Redfish Filet was excellent as well and the side of Broccoli was surprisingly flavorful as well. We also tried the BBQ Shrimp (uniqe BBQ with butter and spices that makes this not an ordinary BBQ shrimp) and Shrimp Alfredo in homemade seafood Alfredo and lots of shrimp . Winner in every bite. The decor is a little tired but if you can overlook the smaller venue, your palet will be pleasantly surprised. As good as any Triple D Restaurant. Don't miss stopping at The Catch Seafood Restaurant.

Google
We had the bang band shrimp which was very good. The fried seafood platter left a wondering if the chef knew how to cook. The fish was way over done and hard. Not sure what it was. The calamari was over done. The crabcake was almost all cake filling. Could not even taste crab meat. The shrimp was good and the fries ok. The waitress was fabulous and made the visit very pleasant. Tessa deserves a raise for sure. Get a new chef and I think you will do well.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. We were able to sit right down, but I’ve heard the place can get busy during normal hours. She’s on a ketogenic diet and there were plenty of options for her. She finally settled on the garlic seasoned shrimp with green beans. It was delicious! I got the shrimp and fish platter with onion rings. Food was hot and fresh and portions were very generous!

Yelp
I went in today for lunch. I was never given a menu, never acknowledged, never anything....I waited 10-12 minutes. Then, the waitress said hello and began talking to a party of 3 who had come in AFTER me. I stood up and left.

Yelp
This is a little bitty hole in the wall place in the corner of a strip center with one lady run in the front of the house and I think one Cook in the back but they do a great job. The onion rings are fantastic. Fried shrimp are good. It's just an all-around down home, New Orleans style seafood dive, and I really like it

Yelp
Once again ... I can't say enough good things about this restaurant The food is excellent ... especially all the Gluten Free items ... our grandson can not eat anything containing Gluten ... and he absolutely LOVES their fried shrimp ... he will eat his whole basket and finish off mine too! Never had any issues ... Every time they visit from Colorado ... this restaurant is an absolute MUST ... No long wait time and food is always fresh and hot ... my husband says it's the absolute BEST fried oysters he has even eaten!! Service is top notch and always friendly ... if you haven't tried them ... you are missing out!!

Yelp
I am celiac and their gluten free seafood platter was something I have not tasted in 20+ years!! I have found my "heaven on earth"!

Yelp
Fresh seafood and it's owned by a couple. I've only gone here a couple of times, but those times were delicious. I would recommend this place for lunch or take it.

Joyce G.

Yelp
They have the best fried fish! Fresh, flavorful , hot and delicious. Very nice. service

Kari G.

Yelp
Hubby and I ate here for a late lunch today. The food was delicious and the service was great! Especially loved the fried shrimp and onion rings.

Yelp
I can't frequent an establishment who only operate a few hours a day and leave before stated time.

Yelp

Yelp
Just ate lunch at The Catch Seafood Restaurant! Had a shrimp poor-boy overflowing with shrimp! Seriously enough shrimp for 2 poor-boys! Served hot and delicious. Onion rings were homemade- crispy and scrumptious! I need to go to The Catch more often!

Yelp
I would give it a five except for the general decor and ambience. The catch is located in an obscure strip mall off of Cleary Ave. It's in the back next to a bar. I would not have gone other than someone had mentioned it to me. I'm glad they did. The food is exceptionally good. Probably one of the best traditional seafood restaurants in the metropolitan area. Good value for money. Great attention to detail and the quality of the food. Since I have gone the first time, I have been a repeat customer, bringing my friends and business associates. I intend on returning in the future as long as I keep up the good work. Seriously, you owe it to yourself to go and treat yourself to traditional New Orleans seafood.

Yelp
Absolutely the best onion rings I've ever eaten!! My husband got the seafood platter and fell in love with the crawfish his puppies!! I had the shrimp po-boy and it was the best I've ever eaten!!! The friendliest service as well!! Don't pass this one up!!!

Yelp
Food excellent. Wait time & service excellent. Quiet, semi-dark atmosphere but clean & safe. Easy parking. I recommend the fried catfish, the crawfish sauce, the potato salad (really wonderful). They have gluten-free & vegetarian options. Check hours because I think they are trying to stay open longer.

Yelp
I had never heard of this place and only stumbled upon it because a family member can only have gluten-free items. This restaurant has a rather extensive gluten-free menu that are marked by "**" on the menu. I ordered the redfish special with crawfish cream sauce and crawfish tails on top of pasta. It was delicious! My wife ordered the seafood nantua and it was also very tasty. I would recommend both of those if you're in the mood for pasta. For appetizer, we ordered the buffalo shrimp, cheese bread, and crawfish fritters. In hindsight, the cheese bread was not that good, but the other two items were good. Overall, this was a solid restaurant. The service was fabulous, and they were very accommodating to multiple dietary restrictions for our table. Lastly, I didn't get to try the seafood gumbo, but I heard it's delicious. They don't make the shrimp until you order the gumbo and they make it on the spot as you like it.

Yelp
Today is December 15, 2022. I was looking for some seafood. I arrived a few days ago. When I went up to the door it was locked and the sign posted closed. I looked at the hours of operation (on the window) and it read 1130 A.M. until 4:00 PM. The time was 3:52 PM. The two workers (assumingely the cashier and cook) were in the restaurant. I went back to my car to assess and look for another restaurant. At 3:55 PM the two came walking out of the restaurant. They had to pass my parked vehicle (with New York state license plates) to get to their cars; so I asked, 'what time do you all normally close'? The cashier said, 'at 4 o'clock'. I replied, 'it is not yet 4 o'clock'. The cashier kept walking in different to my question, and the cook scarfed and laughed. Then the two of them got into their cars and drove off. I chose this restaurant because it was rated 4.5. But after the poorest of customer service experienced, along with the scarfing and indifferent attitude, I would never visit and would NOT recommend to others. I very rarely write reviews, however, I think it's important that you know, especially if you're not a local and come in from out of town. The restaurant is near the airport.

Yelp
The phenomenal food and service....sweet couple owns this place! Very good!!!! The onion strings are incredible! The poboys are also wonderful!

Yelp
I will definitely update this review as I try more menu options, but, for now, I think it is appropriate to review their Seafood Pasta Nantau! I ordered this through UberEATS after a craving for a creamy pasta dish. I was a bit skeptical about ordering the dish because of the crawfish tails with it being the off-season for those. However, I took my chances... Boy, am I happy I decided to take my chances. The pasta was really good and the seafood, itself, did not taste frozen or weird. The sauce is seasoned well, not too thin and not too thick. The actual angel hair pasta was cooked perfectly. Oh, and they're not skimpy on the seafood! I had lots of everything and the shrimp were medium-large. I am excited to try more menu items. The picture I've posted does this dish no justice. It was not too greasy either!
google avatar

Yelp
The crab boil would have been great but whoever decided to put a cup of salt of the food should put the salt down. It was just too salty.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious gluten-free fried seafood. I greatly enjoyed my fried shrimp salad and onion rings. My kids also loved their food.

Yelp
Blacken snapper pasta is DELICIOUS! Don't be fooled by the store front view. Pasta dishes are good good!

Melissa W.

Yelp
The service was great! Even though she had 7 tables in her own. She kept everyone going with refills on tea and helping them with their orders. Not to mention people coming in to pick up. The food was delicious!! The fry on the oysters was perfect. This was a very enjoyable meal.

Yelp
What a great service,I made pickup but placing the order (uber eats) I left a note saying that because of some health issues with my hubs..if they could,I wanted the shrimp po boy with boiled shrimp..and when I went there the first thing they told me was that, they did it. For me,that type of service means a lot. We loved it. I'm not a fan of deep fried fish but their fish po boy was really good, not gishy, not greasy. Good. The boiled shrimp was really well seasoned, great portion as well as the fried shrimp (gluten free, corn meal) lots of shrimps, really good,I see myself craving this and the fish as well. Onion strips?always. It was really good, not out of this world but good. The gumbo,I loved it. I'm not from LA so I cant be a judge but for me was so good,we ordered it low seasoned and it was perfect, lots of seafood (kudos) and the potato salad, simple but also on point. Overall I loved it,the food, the service, the prices and the quality. Reccomend it.

Yelp
We had heard good reports about this hidden away restaurant. The restaurant is actually hard to locate even from the parking lot as it is in a recessed corner. Finding the restaurant, though, will be particularly pleasing. On our first visit we tried BBQ Shrimp. It is somewhat different from the type you get in most restaurants in New Orleans, but it was excellent and enjoyable. We also tried the Gumbo. OMG what a treat. This is not your normal okra gumbo, but probably closer to the gumbo found in Southwest Louisiana using a very nice roux sauce and lots of great seafood. Photo is attached. The seafood included Shrimp, Crabmeat, and Crawfish. Very delicious. The owners were the staff and the attention was excellent. Pricing is very fair. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Amazing food and service!! Nice eating area and off the beaten path. In the world as it is we need to support small business as much as we can. Would eat here over chain restaurants everyday

Yelp
I rarely eat shrimp, if ever, and i had a craving for a fried shrimp poboy on Good Friday after work.... upon walking in, i was greeted by one lady that was standing behind the counter; soon as i walked up to the counter i was greeted by another lady. After confirming my order, the ladies recommended fries or Onion strings. When i asked their opinion, with no hesitation they suggested the onion strings so i agreed to try... THE best shrimp poboy i ever ate. Was fresh and the onion strings were amazing !!!!! Not only was the food good, the service was effortlessly friendly & i appreciated the small talk. I def can't wait to bring my BF to try this place & not to mention it's 5 mins away from where i live!

Yelp
food is really good! but the waitress is extremely rude and sucks at service! and also waited 2 hours for our food! and wouldn't give us a menu
google avatar

Jovan W.

Yelp
I was not impressed at all, I've been craving seafood all week and this was a disappointment. If my boyfriend who's a head chef at a restaurant said that it doesn't look good. Then you know something is wrong with it. The food look like it was fried in old grease. Look at the other pictures compared to my picture. Potato salad had no seasoning what so ever. I wasted my $23. A corner store could have did better than this!

Yelp
Went tonight with my wife. Ordered a pound of Boiled Crab ( got maybe 1/2 pound maybe and had to ask 3x for Metal crackers ??? ) $25.95 , Large Fried Shrimp basket and 1/2 Dozen Oysters and 2 Med drinks . $66 . The Crab was rubbery , the oysters were bland and floating in ice water, the shrimp was ok but just ok. The hush puppies were ok but again just . The Cole slaw was the best of a very sub average meal that was not cheap by any means. We might return but next year but just maybe. Very disappointed. And 40+ mins to get the entree, then we got the oysters ( in watered ice ) after a 20 min wait in line. Inside temp 79 degrees and massive amounts of flies. Good luck Folks . Cannot recommend The Catch.

William P.

Yelp
Typical seafood menu with reasonable prices. The service was good and the cup of seafood gumbo was more like a bowl and I will order it every time I go back which will be often. I also had fried shrimp and they were only lightly breaded which I prefer. That was also a generous portion. You can't go wrong going here.

Laura K.

Yelp
Friendly wait staff, excellent service, great food, nice view. What more could you want. I have never had a bad meal, but my absolute favorite is the Tuna Bomb. Pair that with sweet potato fries or fried plantains, and I have dinner. They also have great Sangria, both red and white. We love the outside covered seating and the fact that you can make a reservation. The Catch is one of our never fail, go to restaurants.

Yelp
Fantastic food if you have the time. Got there about 12:30 on a Friday. One waitress. Maybe 6 tables full and 4 or 5 empty. Took 10 minutes to get menus. Another 5 for water. 20 more minutes to get appetizers (Buffalo shrimp and Crab cake fritters) Another 15 to get salads. From the time we walked in, it took a full hour for the entrées to be served. Waitress was gracious and apologized for the long time. Apps were good. Entrées were fantastic: redfish special and trout plate So like I said: great little seafood place if you have the time to enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Yelp
We were looking for a place for New Orleans style seafood before dropping my mom off at the airport and The Catch popped up on Yelp. What a great little place! It's easy to miss; we almost didn't go in because it looked closed from the parking lot. I'm so glad we did! We started with the BBQ shrimp appetizer and it did not disappoint. It was especially nice that we didn't have to peel the shrimp. For our entrees, we had the seafood platter, the blackened redfish fillet with lump crab and the seafood pasta nantua. All came with huge salads and All were fabulous! On a side note, the chef is very accommodating. I have an autoimmune disorder that makes eating anything spicy extremely painful. I wanted the blackened redfish...without the blackening spices. He was able to grill the redfish with just salt and pepper. The lump crab sauce was light and bright - even though it was creamy, it wasn't heavy. Absolutely perfect! I greatly appreciate their willingness to make the adjustments without any fuss. Our waitress checked on me several times to make sure everything was fine and I was ok.

Yelp
Seafood Done Right Here's a place that has their stuff together. After reading the great reviews I wound up trying it out. I ordered the crawfish fritters, seafood gumbo, and shrimp poboy. Let's take it from the top. The gumbo here is delicious and the seafood is prepared fresh that goes into the gumbo according to the spice you like: mild, hot, extra hot. Unlike many other places the seafood that goes into the gumbo like the lump crab meat, shrimp, and crawfish tails does not sit simmering on a stove all day where it eventually disintegrates from being overcooked. Here the seafood is prepared fresh, then placed atop the gumbo. The gumbo roux, despite that, has a good seafood flavor. Next the crawfish fritters: balls of stuffing with crawfish tails incorporated in it then battered and fried; served on a bed of chopped lettuce with a side of remoulade sauce. It's a tasty appetizer worth trying. Finally the fried shrimp poboy: perfectly fried battered medium sized shrimp on a toasty poboy bread. Not the popcorn-sized shrimp over battered like in some other places, which renders the sandwich a fried batter ball sandwich with unrecognizable shrimp particles. No, not here. This is a juicy, plump fried shrimp poboy, perfectly presented on crispy, easy to bite into poboy bread. Don't miss this seafood adventure that boasts of both great food and service.

Danna S.

Yelp
Always great food ! That's why we keep coming back. Friendly service. Try the oysters our favorite.
google avatar

Yelp
Gluten free fried shrimp....but you could just say fried shrimp. So good. And if you didn't read it was gluten free, you wouldn't know. The onion rings too! Knowledgeable, nice people and perfectly cooked!

Carter S.

Yelp
Tucked away in a little shopping center, is such a nice little spot that serves great gluten free food! The service was kind and helpful. A must stop for those gluten free folks.
google avatar

Yelp
I am a in town for a couple of days and wanted to try a mom and pop restaurant. This little hole in the wall is a must if you are in New Orleans. Great food and service, reasonable. I had the Blackened Fish Nantua, very good!
google avatar

Nina S.

Yelp
Very simple and unassuming place, but the food is delish. The first time I went, I got the lunch special which is 1/2 po' boy + a soup/salad. I got a fish po'boy with the crab and corn bisque. Creamy, buttery perfection. My husband got the same thing but with seafood gumbo, it's not as memorable for me, but he seemed to love it. Oh, almost forgot to talk about the po'boy, the fish was perfectly seasoned, came out steaming hot, and definitely tasted fresh. So no complaints there! Now the second time I went is what compelled me to write this review. I ordered the Uptown BBQ shrimp, which was peeled shrimp in Cajun spices and butter, and this was AMAZING. My pro tip here is to dip your po'boy into the buttery concoction after you're done with the shrimp. Thank me later!! So good, and the service is prompt and very courteous. The po'boy was just as good as the first time too, so now we know their food is consistent. The Catch's nearly perfect reviews is well worth it.

Yelp
This restaurant is open with limited seating and following all protocols. The service is great and the food is amazing. Best Gluten free options INCLUDING fried seafood. We are in heaven.
google avatar

Daniel Z.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Everything fried is gluten-free so it is Celiac friendly. I had the Gumbo (not gf) but also delicious. Wanted to try several of the specials they had. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Ambior S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious fried seafood (and it's gluten free!). The service was also excellent. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
This is now our go to place. Always hot and fresh seafood...fried or grilled, gumbo, everything.
google avatar

Byron J.

Yelp
I love "hole in the wall" places and this was definitely of that variety. The crab dip was the starter and was amazing. I expected the standard shredded crab and out came this mass of jumbo lump crab in melted cheese. Next was blackened redfish and it too was perfectly cooked with just the right spice. The green beams as a side were sautéed with garlic and perfect. Service was a little slow, but this was because of the crowd. They were perfectly friendly in every way. I thorough enjoyed my visit. Great little place!
google avatar

Betsy R.

Yelp
Nice little hole in the wall spot with local seafood. Husband seems to be the chef. Food is on point. Restrooms are clean. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
When I discovered this restaurant served gluten free fried seafood I was so happy I all but jumped up and down! The food is always delicious, the service is excellent. The waitress is so helpful and always patience.this is the only seafood restaurant I can go to and always feel safe eating my seafood! I go to the Catch Seafood Restaurant as often as I Can !!
google avatar

Yelp
Friend and I shared a great meal and bottle of very reasonably priced wine . Tasty gumbo and crawfish fritters I had grilled oysters in a green salad. Pleasant waitress. We were visiting from out of town and deliberately sought out an independent business that was a little off the main drag. Glad for the recommendation. Solid meal. I would definitely return for another bowl of gumbo.
google avatar

Jon D.

Yelp
A small place tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. Excellent Seafood Gumbo and Corn Chowder. The Po Boys were full of perfectly breaded and tasty shrimp. Well prepared and an excellent choice. Salads were crisp and fresh.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Great for gluten free and food was delicious! All fried food is made gluten free so dedicated fryer as well. The waitress we had was very nice as well and made me feel good about my gluten free questions.

Yelp
We just discovered this hole-in-the-wall, mom and pop seafood restaurant because it's next door to our new location for Wednesday Night Trivia. The food was exceptional; every entree and sauce and side were perfectly prepared and flavored. My only disappointment was the spring mix was straight from Costco, but the dressings were good. Highly recommended! UPDATE! Major Disappointment! So, we are a party of eight, meeting at 7PM for dinner and what do we find - a CLOSED store. Despite advertised as open until 8PM! We told them Wednesday we were planning to bring a group on Saturday, but they decided to close and watch the game (which was on IN the store!) No way to run a business
