First the good... Yes I love the open cat atmosphere, The Catio offers a kitty heaven for an admission fee. If all you want out of your visit is a drink and some furry love, then you might enjoy your visit.
However, my one star award here goes squarely to an apathetic staff and anonymous "adoption board" who decides if a kitten or cat you fall in love with is really coming home with you.
If you express interest in adopting, you get handed a mobile phone link to a questionnaire that asks such questions about other cats you have, whether they are indoor cats, vaccinated, spayed-neutered, etc. Any "wrong" answer will disqualify you it seems and you are never told exactly why. All my cats are indoor-only, so circumstances like an 9 year old adult female rescue who really is to old to be spayed cannot be explained nor is an opportunity given. Likewise on Vaccinations... Past the first year, unless the kitties are going to be exposed, some discretion on the pet owner makes more since.
It seems from other feedback here that I'm not the only one who has had this issue with The Catio. I really think The Catio wants to keep their sweetest cats as an "attraction" to draw visits as opposed to finding loving forever homes for them. It's really a tragedy and IMO cruel to both the animal and people searching for a pet.
