East Nashville’s The Catio is a Vegan Bakery With a Cat Cafe | Eater Nashville

"At 1603 Riverside Drive in East Nashville, The Catio will open this fall as a vegan bakery, cat lounge, and cat-safe plant purveyor where Beca-Lew Skeels’ baking and animal-sanctuary work collide. She has partnered with Anna Talaga to launch the brick-and-mortar bakery, lounge, and store in the former Atomic Nashville location; the duo posted on Instagram that they applied for a building permit this week and are hoping for an October opening, according to the Nashville Scene. There will be a separate entrance to the fully vegan bakery so non–cat fans can avoid the feline side, while cat lovers can revel in purrs and furry company; followers can track progress and Skeels’ stunning creations on Instagram (and Talaga’s foster kittens have their own Instagram page where potential adopters can preview some future cat lounge tenants and maybe decide to adopt one)." - Delia Jo Ramsey
