The Charmery Chevy Chase

New ice cream shop in a new and growing complex in upper Chevy Chase. So great to have a good ice cream shop close by finally. Great space, great music, amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Excellent selection of ice cream flavors, delicious and well made. They make the waffle cone in house. We will be back for sure!

The ice cream is super yummy and creamy well worth the price. Super chill location that has plenty of places to seat outside. Location Location Location! I don’t get why people are complaining about the ice cream prices. A ice cream shop like this in a high end location off course is going to be more pricey than the local supermarket. If you don’t like the price then drive down the street find yourself a McDonald.

My experience was delightful. LaRon was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. I taste tested the lemon flavor and sugar cone. Yummy. I will tell my fiends & family to stop by. I would have taken a picture but I ate it fast. 😃 😊

I love the creative flavors at this shop and the ice cream was good! I only have it 4 stars because my ice cream was given to me and it was already soft and melting quickly. I’m not sure if there was a problem with the freezer but that was a little disappointing. I will be back to try other flavors.

Love this place! Was there a multitude of times in the past year and the service has always been amazing. Went for my brothers birthday, his icecream was free. Flavors are always good, would highly recommend!

Great ice cream, great space. I love the mix of seasonal and regularly on the menu flavors. (Can't call them regular flavors because they're extraordinary.) The toppings are fun, and the staff are so kind and helpful, even in the face of multiple taste requests. (Which are also so fun.) Then, with ice cream in hand, there are indoor and outdoor tables, as well as a green with Adirondack chairs in groups. It's the perfect summer (or anytime) evening place - esp because they're open til 10!

Nice venue with indoor and outdoor seating, nice and friendly people working, but waaaaaaay too expensive. Two single scoop ice cream cones cost almost $19. This is not inclusive of the tip they suggest you leave via the dreaded Point Of Sale (POS) system we all love so much. They do offer free taste tests of whatever flavor you'd like to try. The ice cream taste wasn't remarkable, either. Nothing I’d have to try again at the price point. There really isn’t a value proposition here outside of location - there’s not much else around except for the pre-packaged ice cream at the Amazon Fresh in the same shipping center.

This cute little shop in Chevy Chase has the best ice cream I've had in a while. While they don't have a large variety of flavors, their ice cream is very creamy and it really hits the spot. They also have a new flavor every Friday. They also have a little loyalty program with a card you can get stamped. After you get 10 stamps you can win a spin on the Wheel of Wonder to get a treat. I found the staff to be very personable and friendly. I will be back so I can get my card punched and have a chance to spin that wheel! Last point I want to make: I'm not sure of where the parking garage is but I was lucky enough to get a spot on the street.

The Charmery offers a mid size array of flavors that are unique compared to what you'll find other places. Staff shared their favorite flavors and provided samples to taste, by request. Ultimately I went with the honey cilantro which I found light but tasty. Overall, the service was standard. The shop also has outdoor seating and is in a newer shopping center that has a beautiful central space with seating.

I got here with 20 minutes to spare before closing and the workers were all huddled with their belongings at a table inside and flipped the closed sign on me. Through the door I said that they were supposed to be open until 10 and they completely ignored me. I'm disappointed. They should be open and serving until the time posted.

This place is a gem! locally owned and fun seasonal flavors! Don't forget to get the waffle cone its a must! My kids love coming here!

One of the first retailers to open up in the Chevy Chase Lake plaza and was excited it was an ice cream shop! They hosted a soft opening to the local area and it looked like quite a success. They allowed for us to try multiple flavors and learn about the history of their store. The ice cream flavors are on point and the customer service was great! We would recommend this dessert shop and can't wait to come back again!

Love it!! We had a ton of friends tell us about this new ice cream shop. We love ice cream! The flavors are fun and innovative and delicious. We tried a few - including the old bay Carmel - and all were good... except maybe the Sunday Morning Cereal one. That was not . We got root beer float, the Andes Mint Mountain, malted chip, and the Maryland Mud. All were excellent. Very much appreciated that they have a kids scoop and adults can get it. Their scoops are generous. Great service! What a welcome addition to our community.

Is this place aware of ice cream prices elsewhere? The ice cream was good but the prices were OUTRAGEOUS! Getting small ice cream cones for a few kids shouldn't hit $50. Not worth the price.

Unique flavors that are sooo yummy, be sure to try the old bay caramel!! Price point is high but all ice cream is now adays... worth it!

$11.99 for a pint of ice cream is a little extreme but my husband and I gave it a try. Honestly the ice cream was mediocre and their service was as bland as their ice cream. I would take your money elsewhere.

Too expensive at over $9 per a one scoop ice cream cone. The ice cream wasn't that tasty, either. Nothing special, but the employees are nice and the location is wonderful. Parking is a little tricky in the underground garage. You can also park on front of the store if there are spaces available. Charging half the price would be more appropriate here. That may yield 4 stars. I tried many flavors as samples and settled for the "ice cream sandwich" flavor. No one flavor blew me away. There are less expensive options in the area that taste better.

Was very excited to come to the charmery's new location. I ordered the malty vanilla chip on a kids cone and it was delicious. However, my boyfriend ordered a chocolate milkshake and this is where the 2 stars come into play. The milkshake came out white and tasted very off (nothing like chocolate at all). He went up to the employees to double check they got his chocolate order correctly and they said yes but relayed it with a skeptical tone in their voices. For an $11 milkshake you want it to be the best dang milkshake youve ever had. Very disappointed.
