"If you’re not sure what to do in Beverly Hills after you’ve taken a dozen pictures in front of the famous sign, head to this 50-something-year-old fromagerie. It’s practically a historic landmark, except with walls of wine bottles and free nibbles of French butter. Once you’ve finished chatting with the friendly cheesemongers, order a few of the shop’s seven deli sandwiches, which are some of the best in the city. These ciabatta subs are a little pricey ($16-19), but the fillings are as luxe as everything else in the 90210. We suggest the lemony La Zucca with fried zucchini and ricotta or the Dom with jammy sundried tomatoes and aged prosciutto. Afterward, take your haul to the park across the street for an impromptu picnic." - sylvio martins, arden shore, brant cox, jess basser sanders
"This half-a-century-old fromagerie is practically a historical landmark, one that's at least as cool as the Beverly Hills sign. And, sure, it’s two blocks away from Lorenzo, but you go to the Cheese Store for the full experience. You’re greeted by friendly cheesemongers who offer you nibbles of French butter as you peruse quince jams and pretend you're Ina Garten. Once you’re done taking in how cute this place is, order one of the shop’s nine deli sandwiches, which are some of the best in the city. These ciabatta subs are also a little pricey ($16-20), but the fillings are deluxe. We suggest the lemony La Zucca with fried zucchini and ricotta, or the Dom with jammy sundried tomatoes and aged prosciutto." - sylvio martins, brant cox
"This 50-something-year-old fromagerie is the only historic landmark in Beverly Hills we don’t mind visiting over and over again. The shop is filled with crates of wine, imported jams, and wheels of cheese, and you can order from a tight list of seven sandwiches while cheesemongers offer you nibbles of French butter. The ciabatta sandwiches are pricey ($16-$19), but the fillings feel as luxe as everything else in the 90210. Get the lemony La Zucca with fried zucchini and ricotta, or the Dom with jammy sundried tomatoes and aged prosciutto for a smooch of salt. We usually take our goods to the park across the street." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park
"The longtime Cheese Store of Beverly Hills has new ownership in Dom DiBartolomeo, who took over founder Norbert Wabnig’s beloved boutique and moved it to brighter, shinier digs along S. Santa Monica Boulevard. The showstopping sandwiches are rightfully garnering a lot of attention, up there with the likes of Lorenzo down the street and the new All’Antico Vinaio. Nestled within crusty bread find options like fried zucchini and pesto, prosciutto and coppa, and of course, tons of artisanal cheese. The store also has plenty of salumi, preserves, cheeses, and breads to take home for Instagram-ready charcuterie boards." - Matthew Kang
"Acquired in 2022 by Dominick DiBartolomeo of Domenico’s Foods, this artisan cheese shop is being brought into the new venue where DiBartolomeo will also serve artisan pizza and pastas as part of the tenant mix." - Matthew Kang
