San Francisco Restaurants With the Best Views | Eater SF

"There’s nothing sweeter, nothing richer, than San Francisco’s downtown outpost of the internationally renowned Cheesecake Factory. The views of the city are one-of-a-kind, nestled within Union Square’s Macy’s location. The Rotunda is a hit in this neighborhood, too, but what can top a long list of various cheesecakes? There’s even rooftop seating, and the Cookie Dough Lover’s Cheesecake with Pecans goes down all the finer in that rare air. If you’re a card-carrying (do they issue cards anymore?) rewards member, you can make a reservation. Takeout and delivery are also available." - Paolo Bicchieri

"With news that the flagship location of Macy’s will close as early as 2025, many have become nostalgic for the Union Square location of Cheesecake Factory. There are rumors the Cheesecake Factory will be around for another 10 years at that location, but just in case, best to take advantage of the Cheesecake Rewards program for your birthday and receive — what else? — a slice of cheesecake. Indeed, there are plenty to choose from, including an Oreo cheesecake option, key lime, and more. Have it on the restaurant’s gorgeous outdoor patio and you have the makings of a nice meal out." - Dianne de Guzman

One of SF’s Most Popular Falafel Shops Opens Second Location - Eater SF

"In an onstage interview with Recode, delivery service DoorDash’s CEO explained the many pitfalls of fast, well-executed delivery by using a San Francisco location of the Cheesecake Factory as an example. 'It’s on the fifth floor of Macy’s of a Westfield shopping center,' Tony Xu said, 'We had to figure out how to get a dedicated parking spot for the [delivery] Dashers. We had to figure out how to take a special access elevator so that the Dashers can quickly get to the right spot. We had to figure out how to collate food from the bakery, the expo’d food center, the kitchen, as well as the drinks center. And we had to do it all just for that one location.'" - Caleb Pershan

Indoor and Outdoor seating (with heaters) Service is Top and caters to customer needs and requests. We had Alexis and he was on top of our food and drinks order. Not forgetting even the littlest of things in our vegetarian and no meat order. He even remembered and brought us the hot Cajun jambalaya sauce for us to taste. He is a rockstar. This location lives up to the hype of being in the prime location of Union Square, SFO and also of their impeccable service. Outside seating view is amazing day or night. We came for dessert to go the night before and for early dinner the next day before we headed back home. Can't go wrong with their vast spread menu for the conscious and not so conscious folks. There's a sweet spot for everyone in here. Drinks, Food and Good Times. And we had the Mango Key Lime Cheesecake to say au revoir.

Google
I've been eating here for almost eight years. Every time I come I try a different dish. One of my favorites is the spicy rigatoni vodka pasta, Of course the cheesecakes are delicious, they always have a new one to try. It's a place where you may have to wait a little depending on the time you go since it's a very busy place, but don't be afraid, there's enough space for everyone. The restaurant is big and they work hard to accommodate people at their tables as quickly as possible. It has beautiful views of Union Square and on a sunny day you can enjoy outside a nice drink, good food, and good company. I've seen many happy faces having a good time!!! It's a good place to eat and enjoy.

Google
I usually don’t write negative reviews, but I felt this experience needed to be shared—especially as someone who also works in the restaurant industry in San Francisco and truly understands how hospitality works. We visited for brunch on July 5 with a very special guest. I had made a reservation, but even though we arrived just a little late, it took 25 minutes just to get water. We had to wave our hands multiple times to get anyone’s attention, otherwise no one would come over. My guest was honestly shocked and asked, “Does it really take that long just to get water?” It was a slow day—many people were out of town—but the service felt very disconnected. I ordered Blue Label, and I was asked three different times by three different servers about the same order. In the end, my guest got so frustrated he declined it altogether. What’s even more disappointing is that I’m a regular customer, and I still received this kind of service. Despite everything, I still left a $60 tip because I understand how hard restaurant work can be, and I never want to hurt anyone’s feelings. But unfortunately, good service was definitely not delivered that day. I truly hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to improve—not just for me, but for other guests as well. Consistency and attentiveness really matter, especially when people choose your place to host special moments.

Google
I thought the food was really good. The atmosphere was great, but the price of the food was more like $15-$25 a person. There was plenty of parking. We hardly waited at all to get a seat, like five minutes. After we were done eating, I did get a piece of cheesecake to take home with me and it was really good.

Google
I have been here a couple times for my birthday during their peak hours which is dinner time. I think reservations are a must since the waits can take awhile, but that does not matter to me since I have high patience. While you wait you can check out Macys or surrounding stores since they give you a buzzer and it lights up and vibrate when your table is ready for you. I usually choose the outside tables where I can see the beautiful buildings and get a great glance of union square. Their fresh variety of breads are a great way to start off the visit. Their menu is pretty compact, but filled with delicious options. And to finish it up it’s only right to get one of their many amazing cheescakes. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to dine with views or if your just in the area. Definitely will be back when I’m in the area!

Cheesecake Factory always delivers on flavor and portions! The Chicken Madeira was delicious and the cheesecake was pure bliss. Portions are huge—definitely come hungry! Service was a bit slower at this location, but the staff was friendly and attentive once they got to us. Still totally worth it for the amazing food.

Google
It's a cheese cake factory. Their menu is extensive but that causes the quality to be spread across many different items, so not the best. I had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken for 30 bucks. And my brother had an old fashion that was mid and was 18 bucks. If you want to be fake boujie this is the spot for yah. As far as the atmosphere, we were outside and it had a great view of union square. Pro tip: go outside for sunset. Although our spot had a heater that was out. And of course the cheese cake was wildly good. They got that down. Here are all the fancy pictures we got.

Google
The view was the ONLY best part about this location. I ordered two dishes that they did not have the ingredients for. Finally, I ordered a dish that they had the ingredients for, and I had more tomatoes than meat, noodles was overcooked. My wife dish was very dry, and the egg roll sampler was pretty good. Also, that whole elevator situation needs to get resolved as people are trying to over due it just to get there.

Yelp
This is the Bistro Shrimp Pasta for $25.95 this was so good! I love the angel hair pasta, it was my first time eating it. I love how thin it is and it was cooked perfectly! The sauce was good with the arugula and mushroom toppings. I just wish they didn't fry the shrimp but it was still tasty.

Yelp
This was possibly the worst experience service wise I have ever had in San Francisco. My friends and I came here as a joke with an 8pm reservation expecting to get some Tex mex egg rolls and a stupid little cocktail and be on our way in an hour. Well LOL to that idea because this was so much worse. We waited 40 mins to even get our drinks and bread basket (with another 15 mins for appetizers. Our first choice of course they were out of) which was fine as we were chatting and browsing the menu. Two people in my party ordered pasta dishes, the other two ordered burgers. At 9:25 two pasta dishes were brought out by a food runner, while the two people that ordered burgers got to sit there and watch them eat their entire meals before our server came out to tell us "something is going on with the French fries" (60 minutes for FRENCH FRIES?! 60 minutes for anything at a restaurant where the word "factory" is literally in the name is egregious) while the other person that ordered a burger and I continued to wait. As the final noodles were slurped down by the lucky ones at our table, the server came over again to emptily apologize about the French fries now being dropped on the floor (?!???) and still no food in hand. It got to the point where I just asked for my burger to be boxed up rather than shovel it down my throat as fast as possible (that my burger companion chose to do) as we were rounding the two hour mark after sitting down. Never in my life have I been somewhere where half the table was brought their food and the other half of the table just sat and watched them eat. I wish I had sent my burger back and just had the single drink and piece of bread that took 40 minutes to arrive at my table, as the 110 minute burger and fries ended up just sitting on the floor of the restaurant and had congealed and gotten cold and these precious 60 minute French fries got soggy and cold and disgusting) while we closed our tab out while we all sat awkwardly waiting to pay and get out. The food was inedible by the time I got home and even when it was fresh looked like it came from a school cafeteria. Literally any diner on a corner of market street would be less expensive with better service than this sad joke of a restaurant that requires you to walk through the desolate wasteland of Macys has to offer. Do not waste time or money here and just ride those glass elevators in the Westin building for the view or even better just look up drone footage on YouTube and put some frozen fries in the oven- it'll take two hours less time and taste better. I hope this place shuts down when the Macy's finally dies off so I never need to hear about this graveyard of hospitality and efficiency ever again. 0/10 absolutely awful. 0/10 service 1/10 food 0/10 vibes

Yelp
This is by far the worst experience we have ever had at an eatery. All of it was horrid, nothing was eatable and we will never be back. With all the places to which we could have gone, I have no idea what was in our heads. You walk in and the place is clean, but so bright you want to put sunglasses on. If the food is going to be so gross, best turn down the lights and maybe someone won't see what they are being fed. It was not crowded but we waited way too long for a server. Once he came he highly recommended the meat loaf and said it was great with mashed potatoes on top and then put under a broiler. When it finally came it was 3 small and burned pieces of the worst meatloaf I have ever had. I sip it out, it was so bad. There were no mashed anything on top. The regular, boring and quite bad and cold mashed potatoes were on the side. It was truly not something I would feed my dog. It was so bad, it looked and tasted like bad dog food. We waited over an hour for this junk to come. I am not kidding, over an hour. The service was terrible. We tipped out waiter, since we are decent humans and told him we were leaving and why. He did not seem surprised. I think he wanted to go home. All in all there is not one thing I can say good about this place. It is terrible. I recommend it to no one. Stay away. Run.

Yelp
As San Francisco downtown goes the way of the dinosaurs. With SF Macy's announcing last month that it will join the Woolly Mammoth and the Dodo bird into extinction. The question still remains, what will become of The Cheesecake Factory? What will be the fate of this iconic location? I I don't know but I figured I'd give it another try before it possibly closes. So how was it? Let's start with the food. I ordered: Tex Mex Eggrolls: Spicy, savory, with the corn providing a hint of sweet, on top of that being fried. This was amazing. I'd come to Cheesecake Factory just to eat these. Calamari: it was ok. Not great but not bad either. Bacon Bacon Burger: this was a solid burger. The combination of the beef patty, tomato, lettuce, bacon, cheese, and condiments blended perfectly. The service: this is where they fail miserably. The waitress was incredibly inattentive. My Diet Coke stayed empty, and for the price of $5.50 for Diet Coke, it should have stayed full. She came by once during my visit. Her personality should be in the ICE AGE, unfriendly and cold. So while the food is ok and even good in some things, the prices and the service leave me feeling like I don't need to return. If San Francisco's Cheesecake Factory becomes a casualty of Macy's and Downtown SF's extinction...So be it. Dinosaurs had their time and so did the SF Cheesecake Factory.

Yelp
The view was great from the patio. We had made reservations so we didn't have to wait long to be seated. There are heat lamps that help keep you warm if you're cold. Our server took a long time to help us. However instead of getting our drinks or bread she let us know she was going on a lunch break and introduced someone that will be taking our table. He said he would be out with water and bread soon (it took a while). But it was confusing because we saw the girl who said she was going on lunch waiting on other tables. The male waiter who took over was kind and thoughtful he apologized for the wait and took our order. The bread and the crabcakes were delicious. But both our pastas were undercooked. We took cheesecake to go.

Yelp
A friend and I came for lunch on a Tuesday at 2:00 pm. We waited 15 mins. and were seated outside. The rooftop is beautiful with a great view of Union Square. We had the Skinnylicious Avocado Tacos for appetizers and I had the Skinnylicious Grilled Salmon for my meal. Both were delicious. I'm taking one star off for the slow service. Our waitress was friendly but it took a while for her to take our order and it took even more time to receive our food and drinks.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend came here. She ordered the Dulce de Leche. I ordered the Keylime cheesecake we also ordered the honey truffle chicken, which was really good. Service here is quick. It can get busy during the weekdays and also weekends. I would come during late night so that way you get your food quicker they did also change the ambience.

Yelp
We came here after a giant event in Union Square with thousands of people in the area. We had a reservation, but we were almost half an hour late - luckily, the staff was so kind and they were able to honor the reservation and seat us within 5 minutes, which I appreciated so much, especially given how busy the restaurant was with the Union Square event. Food: - Korean Fried Cauliflower: Great flavor and loved the batter on the outside, but wish it could've been fried longer to be a bit crunchier. - Italian Sausage & Fresh Mushroom Rigatoni: Perfectly al dente pasta and loved mixing the ricotta cheese in the dish. So tasty with all the different ingredients like the Italian sausage, mushrooms broccoli, and cheese. - Famous Factory Meatloaf: GIANT portion, especially given that we ordered the Lunch portion rather than the dinner portion. Meatloaf with the grilled onions on top had fantastic flavor, and the corn had a nice buttery crunch. The mashed potatoes with the gravy were fantastic as well. - 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cake Cheesecake: Loved the different layers of chocolate cake and cheesecake. It took a while for the waiters to come by for us to order and to hand us the check, but this was completely understandable given the crowd from the Union Square event. The staff was working extra hard, going back and forth to refill waters, serve food, clear tables, and even a staff member in the bathroom going the extra effort of restocking and personally passing customers essentials that were needed in the stalls. It's not an easy job working on such a busy day, so I really appreciate the extra effort they put in all while being kind and personable. The restaurant itself is very large with lots of seating and very busy, although I haven't been on a non Union Square event day. I'd come back again; it's a great deal given the portions and quite tasty!

Yelp
Came here for a PRE Mother's Day dinner due to the fact they were all booked up on ACTUAL Mother's Day. Thought: this should go smoothly, WRONG! I RSVP'd for 3people at 7:15pm & full party arrived by 7:10pm but didn't get seated until 7:25pm which was concerning because what's the point of RSVP when your table isn't ready at the preferred time? Come to find out, our table was given away to another party. When we finally get seated, we ordered our food and drinks & enjoyed our meal. Food is always great here, but service is not top tier, staff are friendly but we only seen our waitress a good 3 times throughout the whole dinner. It's the Cheesecake Factory in the heart of SF so my expectations of being attended to wasn't on high. Keep in mind parking is hard to find & this location is pretty small.
google avatar

Katrina R.

Yelp
Ironically, i'm giving it 5 stars, for everything but the actual cheesecakes. I've tried a couple of their cheesecakes, but the taste just wasn't right for me - it's too sweet and the actual flavor is not enough. That said, everything savory that i've tried has been perfect. I've tried their fried mac and cheese, fettuccini alfredo with shrimp, cheeseburger spring rolls, and meatloaf. I really can't highlight one, as all were stand-outs for me.

Yelp
At 8F of Macy's in downtown SF, My son selected Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake as his birthday cake , but not our favorite:) Never mind, happy birthday to you Robert And Congratulations to your graduation from UCB

Alexia M.

Yelp
I ordered this week again and asked for extra sauce on the side per usual. I received no sauce on either meat and a very small amount of sauce for the salmon on the side! Extra sauce on the side means just that! Not, no sauce on either and a little bit of one of the sauces on the side. This is a $31 meal! Extra Madeira sauce is never put on the side any time I've ordered recently and one time instead of extra on the side everything was drowning in sauce. If ordering almost an hour before closing means less quality consider making the shut off for take out earlier

Yelp
I recently read a review of this place in SFGate, which wasn't flattering. But I'll come to their defense. Blondie and I were hanging around Union Square, when she got hungry, and up the elevator in Macy's we went. It was mid-afternoon right after Christmas, and the place was packed. But Blondie shocked me by asking "is there space at the bar?" My kid! And there was! Blondie ordered a raspberry lemondrop, while I got a dirty vodka martini, both well made. I ordered shrimp scampi over linguine, while they got a crispy chicken sandwich with fries. I make my own scampi, and it's pretty good, so my standards are high. This was quite tasty, and the shrimp had been sauteed first, which was different. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio, which is always poured generously at the bar in front of you. The bartender/server was engaging, and good college football was on the screens. Never felt rushed, everything was leisurely. Prices were reasonable for the area. We'll almost certainly be back.

Yelp
Overall, amazing view, cool vibes, long wait, solid food, and on the pricey side. Reservation are absolutely a must because even though my friends and I reserved for 4:30pm, the wait was about a half hour. It was so crowded! Our server also changed three total times for reasons unknown to me. Though, the patio view is my favorite since it looks over union square and is absolutely stunning at night. The food was good but nothing special. The cheesecake factory is known for having HUGE portions and a wide selection of options, which is good if your group can't decision what cuisine food to get. There was american (burgers, sandwiches, salad), Italian (pasta), mexican (tacos), korean, chinese options and very difficult to chose from if you're indecisive like me. On the other side of the same coin, due to their wealth of options, no dish is outstanding. My favorite was the salmon and steak, but the pasta dishes were sub par, and unfortunately not worth the ~$30 per dish. What I was most bummed about was their cheesecake---I was so excited to try their iconic classic basque cheesecake but was greeted with a sort of eggy, chunky, very high calorie slice of cream.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night and wasn't busy. Hostess was not friendly or much help but our server was the absolute best! We ordered and out of some of the items we wanted. She was friendly, timely, and so sweet and kind. Food itself was meh as expected. We all got cheesecake and were celebrating birthdays. The surprise bday ice cream and cheesecake we ordered was the best part of the meal of course. Inside was fairly dirty and looked a bit unkempt. Our server and dessert made our night tho.
google avatar

Yelp
Not the same anymore! I used to love coming here. But this visit so far, is bad. Been waiting for my food, over an hour. It took 20 minutes to sit at the table. Another 20 to order. 20 more to bring bread and butter. 10 more to bring drinks, and I am still waiting for my food, while writing this. Also, server just told me that they are out of appetizer we ordered. Will never come back to this place. View is nice though

Yelp
Recently, my husband and I embarked on a memorable date night at Union Square. The day was punctuated by my first ice skating experience there, followed by a visit to a renowned establishment. Amidst the bustling atmosphere and minor inconveniences like crowded spaces and a scarcity of window-side tables, we savored every moment. Our drinks, two cocktails, set the stage for a culinary journey. While my husband delighted in a hearty burger, I opted for the exquisite filet mignon (sadly missing from the photo reel, likely lost or accidentally deleted). Despite any service quirks, the star of the evening was undeniably the food. That filet mignon, tender and bursting with flavor, accompanied by velvety mashed potatoes and impeccably grilled green beans, left an indelible impression. I eagerly shared my culinary treasure with my husband, who found equal satisfaction in his choice. To cap off our evening, we indulged in a decadent slice of cheesecake. Despite any imperfections in service, the culinary experience alone warrants a visit.

Yelp
Had a fantastic time here! Upon arrival, we checked in and got seated within 10 minutes. Our male server Alexis was so kind and attentive the entire time, constantly checking in on us and making sure we had an excellent time. Food was great, service was great, vibes were great. Totally coming back!

Yelp
Finally visited the Cheesecake Factory in SF! It's located on the 8th floor of the Macy's building in Union Square. We ordered the Macaroni and Cheese Burger, Chicken Parmesan "Pizza Style", Spicy Shrimp Pasta, Passion Mint Fizz and Red Wine. Pros: - Beautiful view of Union Square and the city lights at night! - Food is as advertised, generous portions of course and there is a wide selection - I liked that they had some interesting non alcoholic drink options (like the Passion Mint Fizz) at a good price - $5.75 Cons: - One of the heaters beside us was broken but our server graciously let us move to another table that was still by the view. It gets quite windy at night so it would be nice for them to fix the heaters! - In order to make a reservation, you need to create an account on the Cheesecake Factory website. They do not take reservations on the phone

Yelp
I was hungry so what better choice than to come to cheesecake factory. I went to front desk, said it will be at least 20 minutes for the wait. I waited 35 but hey I won't be upset. I got seated, I already knew what I wanted since I looked @menu while my wait. Mint mojito, bowl of cream of chicken w/asparagus & mushroom soup, & Thai lettuce wraps (ALL MY FAVORITES). I was soo hungry once i received my bowl of soup, I dove into my chowdery goodness w/ buttered bread & I was HAPPY! Sooo savory & comforting. When my Thai lettuce wraps arrived, surrounding tables were asking, what is that? It's so colorful and appealing to the eyes. All in all Jose M who took my order was always on top of things! Checking on me, refilling my iced water and he's soo polite & friendly. My good service with JOSE M compensated my long table wait (for only 1 person). Good food /service makes me happy.

Yelp
I just had a really nice lunch here in the Cheesecake Factory and the place is really good. The food tastes great and the staff are so friendly. The decor is brilliant as well. I highly recommend eating here at least once. I give this place 5 stars

Yelp
First our food came out before our bread that took 40 minutes then my jambalaya had no sauce. The manager went to the kitchen and grabbed more jambalaya sauce. Then I go to the bathroom and I see this. Garbage everywhere and dirty. Definitely not coming to this location again.

Yelp
I honestly think that this place is highly overhyped. I tried the flatbread and a Cesar salad, and the salad could have been a lot better. The flatbread was good but on the greasier side. I honestly just think I went in with high hopes and it didn't live up to it, still not a bad place to eat though. Maybe their other options are better. The service was good and they had good seating which was a plus.

Yelp
I rarely ever frequent chain restaurants but this one is a tradition on Black Friday. I love their Thai lettuce wraps, fried avocado egg rolls, bang bang chicken and shrimp, or miso salmon. Their apple streusel cheesecake is bomb too. We wait for our table while enjoying a drink at the bar. Service is usually good. The restaurant is pretty big and you can sit inside or outside amongst the Macys letters.

Yelp
I wish there was less than one star. What a horrible experience. My daughter wanted to go there today. We gave in, I remember having a good experience 20 + years ago - so why not. Our drinks did not arrive for 45 minutes, our food came first so my husband went to the bar himself to get the drinks. AND IT WAS A TUESDAY. All of our meals were not good. OMG the bathroom, needed attention last week. No TP at all and looked like am entire high school trashed it. Very sad. The worst $29 salad I have ever had. I will never go again. I've had much better food and service at a diner. Don't waste your time on the view or tourist trap. Go to Mels. 0/0 for everything.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday evening, surprisingly less crowded. I have been here before. We were directed to our table after a 10 min wait during dinner time (not bad at all). We immediately got famous fresh breads and butter. OMG these are the best. I love them so much. Nothing beats warm fresh bread and butter. We ordered fried mac & cheese, not a fan of the red sauce/tomato based sauces, but this one is really good. And the mac and cheese is so creamy and rich! The factory nachos - these are probably pre-ready plates and then put in the oven for melting the cheese, the tops were a little burnt but overall tasted good. The veggie burger with vegan cheese was okay. Not as good as the normal burgers but not as bad as beyond burgers. So if you are vegan/vegetarian, definitely a good option. The chocolate mousse cake was so chocolaty, dense, rich and delicious, definitely worth the calories Overall love the vibe, the service and the food!

Yelp
This place was beautiful - views only. Customer service SUCKED! Everyone was so rude even on the phone when i was trying to make a reservation. When i came in they told us to step aside then forgot to take us to the table after 20 minutes. When i finally told them if we could get seated the host rolled her eyes and didn't say anything and just grabbed menu's to take and expected me to follow her. She was being so so rude for no reason and when i asked her for her name she muttered under her breath then said " i don't have to tell you anything" when complained to manager he made up some BS and was just as rude as she was. I will not be coming back because customer service was so awful made my experience so unenjoyable! The only people that had good customer service were the Hispanic men helping buss and bring waters

Yelp
Cheesecake Factory at Union Square located near Macy's (specifically on the 8th floor). For parking there are garage parking around the area and there is a fee, there's also metered parking but very hard to get. We had a party of 13 but was only allowed to RSVP for a maximum of six people. However, I spoke with the manager and they worked with me. One thing I love a business is when they accommodate you. And they let you know they want your business and that was a plus plus for Cheesecake. The service was great! We had smiley-friendly servers and the food came right away. Of course the Cheesecake is always a hit for me (in my opinion). However, I feel the size has gotten smaller. But it was still delish!!! I'm not going to talk about what we ordered because there's too many, but what I will mention is that they've updated their menu with vegan options. And there are some items they can tweak/change ingredients to make it vegan! Love that try to cater to everyone! Special Thank you to the manager and servers they were awesome!!!

Yelp
Apparently bare minimum service is too much to ask for here! I wish I had listened to the 1 star reviews on this page. Before visiting, I had never considered customer service to be an important factor when it came to dining in. First of all, I requested an extra hankerchief because I had spilt some water and also requested some bread and butter at the same time but my waitress was completely gone by that point before my food even arrived. The other waiter agreed to bring me my requests but never came back. After my food had arrived, the waiter who brought me my pasta had asked me if I wanted parmesan on it. I said yes because who wouldn't??? Guess what, he also never came back after I had waited over 5 minutes for it. I wanted my bread again, since it never came, so I asked another waiter who also agreed. Guess what, he also never came back!! Also, the food took about 25 minutes to arrive if that makes it better. When I was finished with my food, no waiters were around to get my bill, since my original waitress straight up disappeared. It took around 10 minutes for a waiter to even notice that my plates were finished only to take it and come back with a menu asking me what I wanted to order. I think this says enough about the customer service. Overall, I usually don't mind about rude customer service when it comes to eating out, but this is just not it.

Yelp
After doing some shopping at Bloomingdale's we were hungry. So we came here. The service wasn't that good at all. It took forever to get our drinks. I asked our server if she forgot and she said oh the bartender forgot. Well, seeing how we're eating at the bar and she served the other tables their drinks. I believe she forgot and blamed it on the bartender. Not cool in my book. The food we ordered was ok but good. We got the Buffalo blast bites. My hubby got a southeastern salad and I got soup salad and a half sandwich. The cream of chicken soup tasted like pot pie mix and they just added cream to make it a soup. It was not good. My husband enjoyed his salad. I don't think I will come back. It just wasn't good.

Yelp
Enjoyed our dining experience at Cheesecake Factory during this holiday season. Our waitress Stephanie was superb. Stephanie represented Cheesecake Factory with the most rewarding customer service experience I've had in a while. Thank you.

Yelp
So disappointed. Maybe a decade ago ( I know things change) I had the most delicious Shepherd's Pie! Perfection and a humongous serving at Cheesecake Factory in S.F. . For those who don't know what a Shepherd's Pie is, it's a delicious combination of ground beef or lamb with carrots, peas, onions a delicious sauce that's then topped with mashed potatoes and put back in the oven for browning and crisping. Well, last night what I got for Shepherd's Pie clumps of ground beef, maybe #7 1/8" thick short slices of zucchini, 10 peas, #9 pieces of chopped onions, and maybe #5 1/8" short slices of carrots, and a tasty enough sauce. Then over that clumped amount of beef, A small round clump of mashed potatoes. All of this on a round plate. Shepherd's Pie is usually baked in an oblong baking dish. No no! And my Caesar Salad had to be returned twice due to drowning the lettuce with mediocre so-called Caesar salad dressing. I used to brag about Cheesecake Factory being a chain that worked. Not anymore for me! I was gifted a $25 certificate to this restaurant and instead of subtracting the $25 from the food items, they subtracted from the total which includes tax and 6% S.F. fee. This of course meant more than 1/2 my certificate was spent on tax and S.F. fees. All they said was that this was how the cab register does it! AI in control here? So sad. Not going back ever again! Yelp
Party of four ordered a few different pastas (tomato basil) and all of us got food poisoning. Personally had the fettuccine Alfredo and seemed to get the worst of it, lasted for 3-4 days. Definitely disappointed because the ambiance/location and views were amazing, just wish they had some higher standards for cleanliness/sanitation of their food.

Yelp
Normally I love going to The Cheesecake Factory but was disappointed with our service. I asked to get seated wherever was fastest and they said lots of tables were available outdoors and non indoors. When we got seated, there were quite a few empty indoor tables. Also, our server Fatma, came and got our order but didn't notice there were only two small plates in our table and we were missing one more table set. We kept trying to look for someone and it took awhile to finally get another serve to assist us with the missing table wear. Our food finally comes. One of the servers drops out appetizer and leaves. We order the poke nachos. I like the flavor but disappointed with the actual amount of poke you get with the dish. Such a smalls amount for what you pay. our server returns with the food we ordered. I had ordered the original hamburger. She quickly came and check in but I forgot to ask for the mustard. I tried so many times to get her attention. She was talking with her coworker for awhile. After 10 min of waiting, I decided to just eat my food. I ended up not getting a cheesecake because I didn't want to wait anymore.

Yelp
Roman is hands down the best server and bartender I have ever encountered. His skill in crafting drinks is unparalleled; every cocktail he makes is a masterpiece. Beyond his bartending prowess, Roman's service is exceptional. He's attentive, friendly, and always ensures that every guest has a top-notch experience. Whenever I visit, I make it a point to sit at the bar if Roman is working because no other service can compare. His dedication and passion truly shine through in everything he does. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What's the point of making a reservation if you're still gonna make your customers wait for hours??? I thought for once I'd have a pleasant experience and not have to wait since I made a reservation. Here we are with my elderly parents, standing around, again and again. Just don't lie, the whole point of having a reservation at 12 is to be seated at 12, period!!!!!! Not coming back!

Yelp
Goodness, I truly don't understand the negative reviews. We had a pleasant time and a great family time. After you take the elevator and walk into The Cheesecake Factory, everyone is having a great time. The ambiance was amazing from talking to laughing. The front desk was a pleasure to talk to. While waiting for our table (15 mins during Fleet Week) my husband and I decided to get some drinks from the bar. He got a frozen strawberry margarita and I have 3, back to back, Raspberry Lemon drops martinis. Made perfectly! The food was satisfying and the cheesecake is as good as we remember. My son and his girlfriend loved it!!! The city views are so beautiful.

Yelp
Today I had a lunch utilizing my rewards, which netted me a free slice of pumpkin cheesecake. It was delicious and not too sweet. For lunch I had the Jamaican Shrimp with plantains, black beans and rice. The shrimp were spicy but not too hot. The plantains were excellent and prepared perfectly. Service was great.

Yelp
The food and cheesecake are what you expect from any Cheesecake Factory. The food is okay and the Cheesecake is delicious. The views from this Cheesecake Factory are one in a million. It is the top floor of Macy's and overlooks Union Square. The service at this Cheesecake Factory is the worst. It starts with the reception. Instead of giving you a pager at check in they print your name on a piece of paper and place it on a stack. If you get lost in the shuffle you will wait for a long time. If you ask for an update they will yell at you to ask someone else and then tell you they have you on the list. Then when you have informed them you have waited 20 minutes over what they estimated, they say oh you are next. Then they seat you and the waitress doesn't come for 15 minutes. They need to go back to pagers, because a stack of paper is a terrible system.

Yelp
Got the carne asada steak for delivery at work. I'm not allergic to anything but after finishing the meal i had an allergic reaction. Entire face heated and prickling. Wasn't really sure what happened! But it was a good taste!!

Yelp
Side patio seating on the 8th floor. The restaurant was busy on the patio around 1pm, but it was not overwhelming. The waitress messed up one of the people in my party orders, and had the plate taken off of the bill for we told her that we didn't have time for her to correct it. The incorrect plate was still cooked well.

Yelp
The cheesecake can never go wrong. My go to is the tiramisu cheesecake and this fresh strawberry tastes good too! It's worth it to go just for their cheesecake. Main course wise it's a hit or miss. The miso salmon was not bad but don't order the Alfredo with chicken if you're into good with flavour. Service is generally good and responsive, but of course don't expect a fine dining level service. It's Cheesecake Factory after all.

Yelp
Place is nice , long wait. Bread and butter are served complimentary , I kept telling the server I didn't want water because the table is so small but he kept insisting on it , I appreciate the service but I have already said no 3 times . Food isn't good , the carne assada plate , the corn tasted weird and the rice was sticky and tasteless , the steak was great , only thing that was edible . The pasta with the Cajun chicken was dry , asked for extra sauce and wasn't given enough , Parmesan cheese all crumbled and thrown on top of the pasta , chicken was great . Apparently the only things good here are is the meat . Got 2 cheesecakes to go , the one with fresh strawberries and got only 2 strawberries on it and the regular cheesecake , also ordered the white chocolate raspberry truffle , it was good .Pieces are to small for the pricing Service wasn't that good , server kept reaching over our faces to take things and bring things without even saying excuse , he did offer to take the guava drink off our bill because it was extremely watery .
