The 10 Restaurants Dishes We Couldn’t Escape This Year - The Infatuation

"Houston restaurants dabbled with all kinds of raw stuff this year, with venison and toro making surprise appearances. The tartare from Nobie’s, the restaurant we recommend for nearly every situation, came out on top. You’ll get a trifecta of Lone Star State specialties that create a spectacular, lick-the-plate-clean spread of raw beef. It has thick, buttered Texas toast, a dollop of deviled egg aioli, and a hint of smoke from soft jalapeños chopped together with firm, beautiful meat and capers." - carlo mantuano

Service was so great. It was our first time and our waiter answered all.of our questions honestly and gave us suggestions. The food would have gotten 5, but the Mac and cheese could have been more cheesy and the veggies has this sauce that was ok. Maybe get them with out it. However the lamb, clamp chowder, lobster pasta, 5 cheese potatoes were sooo delicious. This is definitely a place to go in Houston. OH the spiced budding for desert was everything. The dessert is the birthday portion size not the paid for dessert.

The food here was absolutely amazing! Our server Daniel took great care of us as well, and was an absolute delight to talk to. He even ran after us after we had left to return an item one of my friends had accidentally left behind. Very fancy atmosphere, and once again, the food was delicious, well made, and absolutely worth the price you pay for it. 11/10 would go again. 🙏🏾

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Beautiful restaurant, awesome service from hostess to waiter! The food, OMG, EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! We had the Six course journey with wine pairing and it was definitely a journey! A huge thank you to Chelsey who answered all of my questions with patience and kindness!

I had an amazing lunch today. I told my server Brittany what I was feeling like having let her do the rest. She did not disappoint. The food was flavorful without being overpowering. Even the strawberry on the prosecco. It added such a delicious layer of aroma to get me started. I had the lamb with brussel sprouts to eat. The sweetness of the brussel sprouts combined well with the savory of the lamb. Just a touch of the mint sauce brought elevated the combined flavor so well. The chocolate cake is difficult to describe. Cloud of cocoa maybe? It was rich without feeling sugary sweet. I get overwhelmed easily and I loved that these flavors all were so good and took me to new limits without overwhelming me. I will definitely be leaving it to the professional Brittany to surprise me again in the near future.

We tried the 6-course tasting menu (Che’s Dinner) at Chef’s Table for our 20th anniversary. It was a beautiful experience overall. The food was amazing, loved all the surprises one dish at a time! Daniel took the time to tell a story and history behind each dish which made the experience even more memorable.

Google
Trying out half a dozen restaurants this week to pick which to hold a 60th birthday. This place has an early bird 3 course menu that is quite nice. The gumbo isnt typical but quite nice. The kingclip was well done, the chicken was okay. The toffee pudding was nice but nothing spectacular. Wonderful prompt polite service. May come back but it doesnt have a private dining room or spectacular views, so wont cut the mustard for a special dinner.

If this used to be Peli Peli, i've been here before (over a decade ago) but I barely remember the food. Overall, the food was pretty good! The customer service was great. Carrot ginger soup - 5/5 It was served very warm and not on it's way to cold. The flavor was great! Beef skewers - 2.5/5 Prepared medium. Cooked just right but it needed more flavor and/or salt. Kingklip - 5/5 This isn't served with a side of carbs. Regardless the white fish was perfectly cooked and the sauce was flavorful. Lobster mac and cheese - 5/5 Very cheesy and good flavor. sticky toffee pudding - 5/5 Delicious!! Not overly sweet. I was already full and didn't finish it

We visited for my wife's birthday. By reservation, we were seated quickly and felt well cared for by Jane from the moment we sat down. The crab cake appetizer was amazing! The entree - Beef Wellington- with sides of spinach, Lobster Mac & Cheese, and herb and garlic mushrooms, was great! Incredibly tender beef. We likely will not wait for a celebration for our next visit.

Yelp
Revisited and had an amazing experience! Likely my new favorite restaurant! Food: - charred octopus with chimichurri was my favorite dish of the nice. Octopus was prepared perfectly - peri peri calamari was great (I'm a sucker for calamari) - Durban chicken was a sizable portion for dinner and a coconut flavor punch - chicken pendadura was ok, the glaze made it taste like American Chinese food (wasn't the biggest fan) - butternut squash ravioli - I didn't get to try but apparently was really good! - sticky toffee pudding - still sweet but pretty tasty. I still wish that for your birthday, you could choose the dessert Service: 10/10, no notes The lunch menu is 11-3 daily and much more affordable so I'll likely return for lunch or Houston Restaurant Week!

Yelp
Decided to start the New Year (6:30 pm reservation) with a nice meal from The Chef's Table. We have dined here numerous times and the last couple visits haven't been the best. Last night was a HUGE disappointment. I was excited to spend one on one time with my daughter catching up after the busy holiday. Instead our attention was directed at trying to locate our waiter almost our entire visit. He started out great and greeted us as well as explained the specials of the day but after our water was delivered, he literally vanished and when we would see him, it was not at our table. We ordered the Spin your Dip for appetizer and asked for extra toasted bread for the dip. When the dip arrived, it came with one portion of the toasted bread. We assumed the extra bread was coming behind the appetizer. Nope. Pretty much after that, we sat there watching our server touch his other tables (the restaurant was NOT busy) and completely avoid ours. A female server walked by and asked if we needed more bread for the appetizer and I informed her that we originally ordered extra but never received it. She returned with a small side of bread then walked away. We were confident our server would see that we were almost done with the appetizer and come take our order, NOPE. We sat there for some time just looking at each other wide eyed and dumbfounded. A few minutes went by and another female server came by to refill our water. I told her that we are ready to order but our waiter had not been by since he initially greeted us. She offered to take our order. My daughter ordered the 8 oz filet with hugenot sauce requested medium well. I ordered the beef pendurada and also requested medium well with a side wedge salad no bacon. The wedge salad arrived shortly as ordered but when our main course arrived, they also delivered a lobster mac and cheese which we never ordered (neither of us eat seafood so it was clearly a server error) we told the female server that we did not order the mac and cheese and she took it away. When I cut open my pendurada meat, the meat inside was all pink. It was clearly cooked to medium rare. My daughter's steak was cooked properly. So there I sat and watched my daughter eat her steak waiting for a server to come by so I could request them cook my pendurada to medium well. No server checked on us even though they walked by our table several times and witnessed that I was sitting there and not eating. Finally a female who I assume was the shift manager walked up to us and said to me, "you need the meat cooked longer?" I obliged and said I requested it medium well. She took it and stated she would bring a side of brussel sprouts on the house. When my entree came back, it was cooked to the proper temperature and I took a few bites of the brussel sprouts. My daughter was already finished with her entree so she watched me eat. Our original sever stopped by to see if the steak was in fact cooked medium well. He apologized for the error which I found was odd because he wasn't the server who took the order! After I completed my entree our original server came by to clear our plates. I requested the bill, told him we were not interested in dessert. He delivered the bill. I was gifted a gift card by my employer which I presented to our server and told him the amount that was on it. I also gave him my credit card to apply any remaining balance. It took awhile for him to return with my check and he approached our table and said his manager needed to handle the gift card portion and she would bring us our receipts. She arrived a few minutes later and presented us with a dessert and apologized for the bad experience we had and promised next time we visit it will be perfect. Although the dessert gesture was appreciated, we were full and already made it clear to our server we did not want dessert. So we felt obligated to take a few bites. I work in the food service industry. I am usually very patient and understanding when things go wrong but in this case. It was just bad service. Had it been busy or I could identify that our server was in the "weeds" I would probably not be writing this. I feel that instead of offering us more food, the manager should have comp'ed our appetizer or at least given us the choice. I know she meant well, it just did not feel like we were really compensated fairly for the service neglect and server errors. We will be taking a long break from The Chef's Table. Our last couple visits have not been to the standard I feel it should be, especially at the menu price point.

Yelp
Unbelievably wonderful Thanksgiving box. Putting aside my mother's cooking, this is the best turkey I've ever had. It must have been brined for days because it was incredibly tender and juicy, and the very light smoke resulted in a delicious bite. Chef's stuffing was yummy, the green bean casserole with mushrooms was incredible, and I could just go on and on. It was sitting in the refrigerator all ready to be prepared and then I remembered that Chef had said the turkey was even good cold. So when nobody was looking, I pulled the tray out to sneak a bite and was stunned by the juiciness and tenderness and fabulous flavor! Next year we are definitely going to order the Thanksgiving box in advance of the holiday. We went again today and discovered a fabulous new dish of butternut squash ravioli in a lemon sauce with Parmesan. WOW, WOW, WOW! I stole a bite off my niece's plate and couldn't believe how delicious it was. Of course, I keep discovering new genius dishes that the chef serves and this was the newest one to hit my radar.

Yelp
Service was amazing. The ambiance was nice and relaxing and the food was perfect. My husband and I had spinach artichoke dip for our appetizer which was the best we have ever had. We both ordered beef wellingtons which were so rich, buttery, juicy and packed with amazing flavor. We also ordered lobster Mac n cheese and you can guess-- it was awesome. I love this place.

Yelp
I honestly didn't think I'd like the food at first, but wow -- the entire experience completely surprised me! The service was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I went during lunch (highly recommend it because it's much cheaper than dinner), and everything we ordered was fantastic. I had the lamb chops with potatoes -- absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The menu has a South American/South African flair, and every dish my coworkers ordered was also really good. I'm a very picky eater, so that says a lot! The atmosphere was warm and inviting -- a great spot for lunch with friends or even a perfect date night. They also serve refreshing watermelon-infused water, which I couldn't get enough of. The only small thing I'd love is if they started the meal with some bread or something similar, but that's just my personal preference. Overall, amazing service, delicious food, and a really great vibe. I'll definitely be back -- especially for lunch!

Yelp
We were in Houston to visit our kids and grandkids (including our latest that was just born). On January 9th, we celebrated our 49th anniversary at Chef's Table and had a wonderful experience! We started out with drinks and the Peri Peri Calamari. We have enjoyed all sorts of calamari over the years but we have to rate the Peri Peri at the top of our list. The calamari was so tender and tasty. We always put salt on our calamari but the Peri Peri, along with the two sauces, didn't need any enhancement. For our entrees my wife had the Beef Wellington & I had the Karoo Lamb Porter (from the Out of Africa section of the menu). I started out looking at the Wellington myself but so glad I picked the Karoo Lamb. Both dishes were outstanding but the lamb was amazing and we were glad I selected the dish (yes, my wife got a couple of tastes, begrudgingly). The presentation of the dish was also great and very appealing. Lastly, we did get 1 side, the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Great flavor and good amount of lobster! For desert it was the Sticky Toffee Pudding. This was mandated by my wife and so glad I listened. We would have licked the bowl clean if no-one was looking. Service was also top notch. We were checked on by various team members to ensure we were happy with everything. Early on, we were greeted by Chef Paul and it was a joy to meet him and learn a bit about him and his culinary culture. Our server, Petra, was truly a great companion throughout the meal. She was really helpful in our selections of the calamari as well as the lamb. Timing for everything was spot on. Although we don't live in Houston, I can certainly see us coming again when we visit the kids. This was a great way for us to top off our anniversary.

Yelp
A higher end experience with appropriate pricing. This is a really great place with a nice atmosphere, great service, and upscale food. It's a little pricey for everyday dining but if you're looking for something special this will deliver for that birthday dinner or that business lunch where you're aiming to impress. I'd highly recommend this one to anyone and I can't wait to get back !

Yelp
Late Post: First time dining at this restaurant and we had dinner here I believed during HRW week. The waitress that served us was excellent. You can really tell she enjoyed her job and like talking to customers as she had informative recommendations from the menu. We were on a double date so we ordered a variety of foods to share and everything we tried was seasoned well, extremely fresh and uniquely flavored. They also have a nice wine room with various selections to satisfy any connoisseur. I would definitely go back to this place to try more items on menu. You can be casual dinner or dressy for a special occasion. Refer to pics below of our food. As we eat first with our eyes, the experience was good and entrées were prepared to tease your palate so definitely give this place a try and we'll be back again soon!

Yelp
Went here for my 1 year anniversary dinner. THE ABSOLUTE MOST AMAZING FOOD I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! Everything was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. Service was amazing above and beyond. Our server was knowledgeable and kind she convinced me to get the ostrich which was TO DIE for by the way! The ambiance is intimate and perfect for date night and private gathering. The booths are tucked in so it makes you feel like you're the only people in the restaurant. It was the most lovely experience for my first time there and first time in Houston. I will 1,000% be back!

Yelp
Had another amazing experience at The Chef's Table in The Vintage. My friends Adrienne and Holly both ordered the beef Wellington, and I had the crab cake eggs Benedict with truffle tater tots - everything was absolutely phenomenal, as always. We also had pomegranate mimosas, and let me tell you... they did not disappoint. I was feeling a little loopy in the best way! The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is classy with great ambience, and the staff is always professional, sweet, and very attentive. It's one of those places that never misses. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I used to go here when it was Peli Peli. Chef Paul is still here and the menu is mostly the same. The ambiance is not as good since the flood remodeling but I still love the food! Food: calamari: perfect and the sauce complimented it well, breading was perfectly crunchy and not too thick, the squid was tender without being overcooked the filet medallion skewers with chimicchurri sauce: beef and saffron rice were very flavorful, cooked perfectly medium per request, would definitely order this again kingklip: very buttery, not too much taste and kind of one note, but i can see why people would order it if you love fish sticky toffee pudding: for people with sweet tooths but this was a bit too much for me

Yelp
Five star experience from the time you walk in to the time you leave. The food is excellent. Well balanced menu. Amazing drinks. Amazing apps - grilled octopus, filled mushrooms, pork belly. Amazing entrees - lamb chops, hot honey bacon salmon cooked medium. The cucumber martini on the rocks was made perfect. Top it all off with the créeme brûlée. The ambiance is upscale yet casual. Make a resy before you head out there.

Yelp
First time I was here after hearing rave reviews. The service was great. So helpful and attentive. I really liked the atmosphere. Very classy. I had the Beef Wellington. Excellent! I usually don't have dessert, but there was a sticky toffee pudding cheesecake ! Two of my favorite desserts rolled into one. And it didn't disappoint!

Yelp
Came to celebrate my birthday with my family on a Tuesday night. Service was great. Everyone was attentive and very accommodating. Thank you to the hostess at the time for being patient with my family as we asked for millions of pics. Food- we started off with the peri peri calamari, sautéed calamari, & stuffed shrimp. Entrees included the Jerk Snapper, hot honey bacon chutney salmon, shrimp scampi, and the 16oz ribeye. Sides included the Brussels sprouts and the lobster Mac & cheese. No complaints from the family. My mom did order the prawns and wasn't satisfied but they were able to change out the dish- the prawns didn't taste fresh and bit overcooked. Drinks - i tried the old fashioned and nothing too special. My father did have a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and I a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Overall- definitely a good restaurant for special occasions, date nights, girls nights, etc.

Crystal. W.

Yelp
The service was amazing. Our server Taylor was kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food was delicious and well portioned. The restaurant was clean and had a nice classy charm to it. This place is definitely one of my favorite restaurants now. 10/10 would recommend for a nice date night out or a special occasion.

Yelp
The happy hour was a pleasant surprise. Everything from the service to drinks to food was so satisfying! I will absolutely be back!

Nigel C.

Yelp
We dined at the Chef's Table on New Year's Eve. Service throughout the evening was attentive, and my sea bass was enjoyable. Unfortunately, my wife's prawn dish did not meet expectations--only one of the six prawns appeared to be properly cooked. We mentioned this to our server and were offered a dessert, which we appreciated but chose to decline. Given the issue, we had hoped the dish might be removed from the bill, but that did not occur. While there were positive aspects to the evening, this was disappointing for what should have been a special occasion. We left feeling let down and are unlikely to return.

JaDaven E.

Yelp
Restaurant was very good and had some really unique options. Service was fantastic. Me and my wife order the Caesar salad, wedge, and a spin on your dip for appetizers. The spin on your dip was 10/10! Not really a normal tasting spinach dip but still very good. For our entree I got the ostrich filet and my wife got the beef Wellington. The filet was good however I think the sauce was doing it a disservice, I gave it a 6.5-7/10. The beef Wellington was also pretty good at a 7.5/10. Dessert was also really good. Sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake with the pudding being the STAR of the show. All in all it was really good and a nice change up from your normal steak houses or nice dinner spots.

Dean K.

Yelp
The waiter's knowledge of the menu items and wine was absolutely amazing. Food was wonderful. My wife had the filet and I had her leftovers for lunch the next day and was able to cut the filet with a cheap plastic knife, extremely tender. What a fantastic meal.
google avatar

Shelley G.

Yelp
The ambiance is exquisite as well as everything we have tasted. We love it all. Our favorites are the beef pendurada, kingklip, and ostrich which melts in your mouth. All the sides are scrumptious and don't miss out on the chocolate cake and sticky toffee pudding. It is our favorite place to dine.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant with two former colleagues. It's my understanding that this is the newest restaurant of Chef Paul of the former fabulous Peli Peli. I ordered the Chicken Florentine. I love a florentine dish. It was warm, savory and delicious. My friends both had butternut ravioli, which they equally enjoyed. Our server was kind, well acquainted with the menu and contributed to a great dining experience. Please, if you're not already on inKind, please join. We need restaurants affiliated with this service in north Houston and suburbs.

Yelp
I dinned here yesterday and had the 6 course meal and let me tell u to please do not get it ! you will be served the worst plates on the menu. The first 3 courses were one plate with 1 muscle one shrimp and 1 crab cake 3 courses ! Each small little thing a course ! . The fourth course was beef belly like what they really added the cheapest plate and called it a 6 course meal how disgraceful . the meat kept coming raw ( they never once asked how i like my meat cooked) . The 5th course was this steak that tbh i make better steak at home it was very rare to hide the fact that it was not tender at all and the lamb tasted so strong like lamb tbh it was the worst lamb i have had . And the dessert was a mini cake ( keep in mind this is 120 per person) . If you are set in coming here please order the regular menu the course meals is a scam!!! I hope i can save someone since no one told me your welcome

Yelp
Food is good but grossly overpriced. The service was good and the food was generally good, but this was absurdly priced. For reference, see the photo we were served (unappetizing)
google avatar

Eliezer D.

Yelp
I'm going to save you the time to read any other review about this place. Let me just say get here and experience it yourself!! 10 out 10 on everything we had! Your mouth will have an explosion inside so flavorful that you can't resist another bite until all gone!! First time here and most definitely coming back! Thank you Thena, the manager and a special thanks to the chef that made my wife's birthday dinner unforgettable!!

Yelp
We came in for brunch before an event and realized after perusing the menu that this location used to be Peli Peli. It seems to share some flavor profiles of the former restaurant so we made a note to return for dinner. The brunch menu was straightforward, and the food came out as advertised. We got the waffles (cut fruit and strawberry whipped cream on three small liege waffles) and the TCT skillet (an egg hash in a small cast iron), with the complimentary pink water (strawberry and watermelon steeped in water).

Yelp
The charred octopus is exquisite. The freshness of the seasoning and the perfect texture of the octopus was flawless. The potatoes pleasantly soaked up the flavors of the plate. I highly recommend the surf and turf. The steak medallions just melt on the tongue, and the shrimp are a good texture juxtaposition for the palate. Try the brussel sprouts or the cheese whipped potatoes. The parfait is delicious. It may look plain, but it has a certain nostalgic element of homecoming. You simply have to try it. If you sit at the bar for happy hour, get the lemon drop. The classic cocktail pairs well with fish if you enjoy seafood. The service is impecable, and the ambiance is very refined. Perfect for an upscale date night or sophisticated celebration. The attention to detail doesn't skip a beat. The music is elegant, with slow beats to match the environment.

Yelp
The quality here is CHEF'S KISS. Amazing. Appetizers (everything was 10/10 must orders) - charred octopus : my bf doesn't even like octopus but DEVOURED this. the chimichurri added such a nice refreshing touch to the dish - sea point promenade : its two big crab cakes filleddd with crab meat!! you definitely get your moneys worth!! All the different textures made it so fun to eat Entree - Chilean sea bass (10/10) : I didn't know fish could be this buttery until now. The sauce was light, citrusy, creamy and paired perfectly with the fish. - Chicken Florentine (7/10) : compared to everything else this dish did not stand out. Still pretty good though. Safe pick Jane took amazing care of us! Thank you again! We went during valentines and the chef was giving out these little goodie bags it was so cute The only complaint I had was we made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and they told us just 3 days before our reservation that overbooked....so last minute and all the other restaurants were booked already.... VERY unprofessional. They ended up being able to take us in but we couldn't keep our original time. Then proceeds to seat us 40 mins past our reservation time. I expected more professionalism especially from a restaurant like this

Yelp
We stopped by for a late afternoon lunch on the patio and had a great first-time experience. The ambiance strikes a nice balance--sleek and modern, yet still relaxed and casual. The patio is a good size, though I do wish the fans had been on to help cool things down a bit. They were offering cocktail hour, which applies to both the patio and bar area--a nice bonus. I had the Paloma and my friend went with the Lemon Drop Martini--both were refreshing and well-made. We shared a few dishes: the Peri Peri calamari, Kingklip tacos, and the mixed fry basket. Everything was delicious. The calamari was crispy with great seasoning, and the kingklip tacos were the highlight--perfectly cooked fish that was light, flavorful, and satisfying. The fry basket was a fun addition, but the standout were the sweet potato fries. I'd honestly come back just for a full basket of those alone! We topped off lunch with the sticky toffee pudding, incredible. Service was impeccable--friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It wasn't too busy when we visited, but I'd like to think that level of service is standard. Overall, it was a great visit and a spot I'd absolutely return to. The menu has a lot of tempting options, and I'm looking forward to trying more on my next trip!

Dennis C.

Yelp
Appetizer and entrees were absolutely amazing. Everything was excellent! Service was excellent. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
The food is amazing and very delicious. Atmosphere is very nice for special occasions. Service is top notch. Many options to choose from. The chef is the best!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining here today and if I'm ever in the area again, I'd be glad to return. Highlights: 1. The restaurant was immaculate, including the bathroom. 2. A nice assortment of mocktails to choose from (I settled on the lemon lavender spritz). 3. The food was good: I had the ribeye with Oscar sauce and a side of lobster mac and cheese. My steak was cooked to my liking, well seasoned, and tender. The sticky toffee pudding was also great. 4. We had an attentive waiter; great service.

Yelp
We were really looking forward to brunch at Chef's Table and made the 30-minute drive with high hopes. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we learned there are no high chairs available. While we understand that not every restaurant caters to young children, this kind of detail is important to know ahead of time--especially for parents planning a meal out. It would be incredibly helpful if the restaurant's website or reservation info noted that it's not kid-friendly. We had no choice but to leave, as trying to hold our very active 1-year-old through a long brunch simply wasn't feasible. This may be a great spot for adults or special occasions, but definitely not ideal for families with young children. A heads-up online would've saved us the trip and the disappointment.

Yelp
My Wife and I enjoyed a nice Birthday dinner on our first time eating here. The food options are outstanding and they have a great variety, I don't think you can go wrong with almost anything. The service was very attentive and they give a thorough explanation of each plate and the flavors. The ambience was a very elevated feel, dim lighting in the booth was sat in with some jazzy type music playing in the back. We loved Chefs table and would definitely recommend anyone who's thinking of enjoying a meal here to go ahead and do so!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, they explain everything to you if you are unfamiliar with the menu. The food was amazing, particularly the calamari, octopus, Wellington and do not leave without Stick Toffee Pudding! You'll be glad you splurged!

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of The Chef's Table. Service is always attentive, ambiance is understated and classy, parking is ample, quality is consistent, and prices are very fair. I've dined here a handful of times with friends and family as well as for work, and each experience has consistently been excellent. The water alone already stands out for me: it's lightly infused with watermelon and some other fruits, and is always so refreshing and tasty that I'm shocked that it's their free house water and not a priced drink off the menu. In terms of food, I've never been disappointed by a dish here. My personal favorites are the Three Cheese Blackened Salmon Pasta (which contains goat cheese) and their popular Sticky Toffee Pudding. This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Vintage Park - which is saying something given its close proximity to plenty of stiff competition in the area. Ambiance: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Water??: 5/5

Yelp
The Chefs' Table was nothing short of amazing. I was looking for a good place to get lunch that I had never tried and when this place popped up, I said why not. I had no idea it was this formal and fancy . I was cute but dressed very casual, wishing I had put on a dress and heels. The lighting was perfect, the ambiance was stellar and exudes sensuality, romance and elegance. They serve a pallet cleaner that has watermelon and strawberry juice that takes the taste of the food from your tongue. The drink I ordered was a mock-tail that tastes like a mojito. I began with a starter called, "A Spin On Your Dip." The dipping toast was perfect, not too hard and not too soft. This was by far some of the best spinach dip I've ever had to date. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and exceptional. I was almost full from the spinach dip but I managed to find room for the Jerk Snapper. The dish comes alone so I added sautéed spinach and saffron rice. The snapper has bones but they have already filleted it really good for you to pull it apart from the bones with ease. I never had the full snapper with the eye ball in it fully fried. The presentation was culinary artwork. It looked like the fish was posing for the picture. The chef outdid him/her self and the staff was staffing.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants. My daughter has swim meets in Cypress/the Woodlands every few months and we always make a stop here after. The best dish on the menu (in my opinion) is the sweet and spicy chicken. It is life changing--I have not been able to replicate it or find another dish at a restaurant closer to me. The sticky toffee pudding? Possibly the best in Houston. As a sticky date pudding fan I have tried almost every one in the greater Houston area and this one reigns supreme. The sweet sauce with the homemade creamy ice cream with the crunchiness of the caramelized sugar and the moist rich cake...I dream of it. I do wish they would give more ice cream to counteract the sweetness but it is amazing. Can't wait to come back in the near future.

Yelp
This place was great. We ate outside and enjoyed the last 2 hours of cool weather in Houston until November. Joshua, our waiter had good recommendations. We had a "sampler" of South African meats and a chicken dish (can't remember the name). Both were excellent. Drinks were good, the ambience was good. We weren't very impressed with the interior, but we really just passed through the restaurant to get to the patio. All in all a do over.

Yelp
No matter how much time passes, Chef's Table gets better and better each year. I wanted to share a couple of dishes with you all to try.

Yelp
Ambiance: Trendy, upscale restaurant located in Vintage Park perfect for a date night, celebratory event, business dinner, or unique dining experience. The booth tables are large & extremely intimate in the sense that you feel you are alone with your party. Waitstaff is quick and extremely knowledgeable about any item on the menu. I loved the flavored water - a refreshing surprise from generic tap water! We split a bottle of Riesling. The Caesar salad was a good portion. I highly recommend the Diane Sisters brioche filet medallions as a main course. This is a spot I would take anyone I am trying to impress be it by their menu, ambiance, or service. The menu is diverse and filled with unique flavors and twists. Clean bathrooms. Parking available on the street or parking lots in Vintage Park. Walking distance to other shops and spots to peruse before or after your meal. It is obvious the head chef is extremely talented and creative. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Five stars on Yelp may not be Michelins, but The Chef's Table boasts the decadence, attention to detail, and a flavor-journey befitting any high-end restaurant. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the ends and outs of their menu. From preparation styles to food pairings, she could answer all of our questions. With her guidance, we eventually settled on the Stuffed Peppadews and the Kingklip for dinner. The Peppadew--a South African pepper--was a delightful way to start. Everything was so perfectly balanced; every flavor complementing the next. The fish was flaky, but weightier than most fish. Every bite as perfect as the one before. The cucumber martini is absolutely magical. Sticky. Toffee. Pudding. My favorite dessert and this spot...oh my. It may have been the best STP I've ever had. My only criticism was the overhead lights. The tiny orb glare off the menus makes it a little difficult to read.

Yelp
OMG!!! The absolute most fantastic Chilean Sea Bass I've ever tasted in my life. It was just incredible. Perfect blend of lemon & butter served over the best spinach ever!!! Our waitresses were friendly, sweet and knowledgeable. The ambiance was good as well. But the food is a 10 Star in my view.

Yelp
I thought Pelli Pelli was gone forever. I am glad I found this place! Pelli Pelli was one of my favorite restaurants. I used to go to Galleria location and the i10 Pelli Pelli kitchen as well. Lots of great dishes from Pelli Pelli are still on the menu. Solid four stars, could easily be five but you need some work. Food: the wings are top notch. Absolutely amazing and crispy. So much flavor. Great wings. The Portuguese steak skewer was amazing. The flavor and taste was great. However they came out cold. That was quite disappointing. On that alone should rate them three stars. You have to really keep your QC in check. Especially for the prices we are paying here. This isn't .99 cent jack in the box tacos lol. The Brussels sprouts are amazing. I don't even like vegetables. The 5 whipped mashed potato's are absolutely amazing and the lobster mac n cheese was great ! Lastly the sticky toffee is one of the best dessert I've ever had. An old Pelli Pelli favorite. Management address QC! At your price point and your caliber of restaurant you should not be serving your signature beef steak skewer dish cold. They were quite disappointing to eat cold. . Also make sure the waiters are coming back to check on their guests. We wanted to orde dessert and had to wait while. On those two things along I could give two - three star rating. The decor is amazing.

Yelp
Not sure where to begin! Delicious delicious food! Absolutely amazing! My husband found this place for us to celebrate our anniversary and it was a wonderful little surprise. I can't remember the name of all the food but let your server tell you what to try is this cuisine is new for you. Our server, Constantine was very attentive and delightful! We had great conversations with him and he represented the restaurant very well with his service and knowledge. It's a little bit away from where we live but I'd definitely love to be back. We had to take half of our food to go because everything was very rich and filling. It's a lovely place and can't wait to be back!

Yelp
Wow wow wow!!!!! This is a one of a kind place. I was completely blown away when I visited for my mom's birthday! She really wanted the Vlees Pastei & Beef Pendurada which were both incredible. Everything we had all night was so flavorful, delicious and came with an incredible story. The service was absolutely impeccable from all teams of the restaurant. The ambiance inside was dressy, dark and perfect for a special occasion or date night. The Chef made his rounds to each table to say hello and when he found out we were celebrating a birthday, he had a picture taken of him and my mom then developed! It was a special treat. I decided to do the Culinary Journey without wine pairing (thank gosh because I was so full!) Make sure you come hungry because you get to try sooo much from the menu. The KingKlip fish was so yummy. The starters were incredible, the peppadews, sautéed calamari & moules were 1000/10. Normally, I steer clear of lamb chops because of the game taste. These were phenomenal. Cooked to absolute perfection with incredible flavor combinations. Made me love lamb chops- but have to come back here for the flown in New Zealand Chops! It's hard to choose my absolute favorite from the journey, but I think the Hugenot Filet is in 1st place. This piece of meat was cooked to perfection, so tender, so flavorful with the savory bacon, bitterness of the bleu cheese and the sweetness of the raspberry. It was in my dreams!!! We were so incredible full, but got the sticky toffee pudding and it was delectable!!! Will 100000% be back to try a few different menu items and their lunch menu looks like a great deal as well. I definitely know why they made Yelp's Top 100 Restaurants to Try in Texas 2023!!!

Yelp
As you may know, this was a Peli Peli and nothing changed except the name. Had lunch on 2/9/25 and small crowd but everything was wonderful. Only error not worth discounting my score was the waiter brought smaller white wine glasses with the Cabernet. That was corrected so no harm, no foul. All great!

Yelp
A Dining Experience Worth Every Visit We keep coming back to Chef's Table because the food is truly something special. Every dish is delicately prepared with so much thought and care--it's clear the chefs put their hearts into everything they make. The service is just as exceptional as the food. The entire staff is incredibly attentive and genuinely cares about making your experience unforgettable. We've never been steered wrong, and honestly, we haven't had a single dish we didn't absolutely love. Their happy hour is a hidden gem--$7 drinks? Yes, please! We often come for happy hour and end up staying for dinner because everything is just that good. If you're looking for a place with amazing food, impeccable service, and an inviting atmosphere, Chef's Table is the spot. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The food here is unique and South African inspired. I had New Years Dinner specially while my Fiance had the The Backyard Braai. My special included a huge Prawn and a steak. The steak was moist and well seasoned...it was one of the best prepared meals I've had in awhile.. I well definitely be going there again.
