The Best Restaurants On Long Beach Island - Jersey Shore - The Infatuation

"Even though you’re officially on vacation, it can take a while to forget about real-life issues like incompetent bosses and forgotten Netflix passwords. The best way to snap yourself into “vacation mode” on LBI is to head to The Chicken Or The Egg (Chegg) in Beach Haven. It’s a diner filled with groups who seem to have all gotten the memo on the implicit dress code of tank tops and flip-flops. The menu is huge, ranging from six-egg omelets to a reuben with not-too-salty housemade corned beef. This place also serves some of the best buffalo wings we’ve ever had, which are offered naked or breaded and tossed in your choice of 18 different sauces. The plate of naked wings with zapper sauce is our go-to order, and when we say that the wildly spicy ludicrous sauce is a day-ruiner, you should trust us." - alison kessler, regan stephens, matt tervooren, tonya russell

The Jersey Shore’s Top Restaurants | Eater NY

"First things first: It’s “Chegg” to those in the know, who go to this Americana diner at all hours — it’s open 24/7. But perhaps the most classic time to go is after last call at the bars, when LBI partiers head this way for a late-night breakfast or wings. The daytime has a more family-friendly feel." - Stefanie Tuder

Last night I visited for the second time on a Wednesday for their half price wing night. I had both traditional Buffalo and Spicy Garlic. I got both naked wings and breaded. The wings were surprisingly large which was good and I liked the way they were cooked/fried. I've been on a wing kick lately and over the last few months have been trying all of our areas best wings. These were definitely very good. Good size, fried well, spicy but not inedible.... I prefer the breaded with the Spicy Garlic. I like that they had some non-alcoholic near beers available too. I had an N/A Sam Adams IPA for the first time last night which was phenomenal. I'll definitely go back for more wings, especially on Wednesdays. OH! And we loved their Fried Pickles too. They were awesome.

I had been wanting to try the Chicken Or The Egg for quite some time. After one shopping trip and lunch debate with family, we finally decided to give this place a try. I have to say it did not disappoint. The place is great and the staff is very friendly. Best of all, the food is phenomenal. While we all opted for egg dishes, they were perfectly cooked and came with the best home fries I've tasted in quite some time. My whole party agreed. If you haven't been here be sure to give them a try. They also have a great outdoor seating area.

🎉 Oh, What a Night! 🎉 Last night was nothing short of phenomenal at The Chicken or the Egg in Marlton, NJ! My dear friend Maraine Douglas and I set the tone for the evening by opening up the dance floor—and the rest was pure magic! I truly lost count of how many amazing individuals I danced with. The energy was electric, the vibe was contagious, and we danced like no one was watching (though everyone probably was!). Special kudos to the DJ, who deserves an award for the seamless transitions and perfectly curated playlist. Each track was a vibe of its own—smooth, bold, and right on tempo. The staff? Simply outstanding. Professional, high-energy, and totally committed to ensuring guests had an unforgettable experience. Hats off to them for keeping up with the pace of the night! A huge salute to the army men who joined the celebration. The camaraderie between civilians and soldiers was heartwarming and inspiring—proof that music, laughter, and good food truly unite us all. To Emily and your sister—you’ve officially been inducted into Jamaican culture! The way you moved those hips? 🇯🇲 Certified! 📍 Verdict: 10/10 ✔️ Great music ✔️ Stellar drinks ✔️ Unmatched vibes ✔️ Wonderful people ✔️ And memories we won’t soon forget I’ll absolutely be back for more joy, more rhythm, and more unforgettable moments. Let’s keep making things super grand and spectacular! 💃🏽🕺🏽🔥

Google
Chicken or the Egg is a fantastic spot for breakfast/Brunch/Lunch - choose one or combine]. The menu has many creative dishes, and everything we've tried has been delicious. The atmosphere is lively and fun. I highly recommend it for family and friends outings. I often come here with my son's for some quality time.

I sat at the outside bar today and I really enjoyed myself. The food was great and the service was awesome. The bartenders Cole, Luca, John, and LJ made the experience even better. They were lots of fun, super friendly and were very attentive. Even the food runner, Tristan, was super friendly! Definitely recommend stopping by and hanging out; it’s a great vibe and worth the visit!

Google
When we arrived it seemed like all the patrons were outside and there might’ve been some ppl inside it’s a pretty big restaurant We were told to wait bc the kitchen was busy But the front near the bar seemed empty and the outside had a lot of ppl but they were already eating so I was a bit confused. We waited maybe 5 minutes or so and got served right away. Thankfully the host and the server we had were nice it almost made me forget about the wait.

Visited on 5/31/25 I was excited to try this plan but was quickly disappointed. When wasted the booth was nasty and there was stuff in the crack. Later on I ordered drinks and I picked iced coffee which did not taste like iced coffee it tasted like iced tea. I asked the server to bring a different one thinking it was a kitchen mistake but unfortunately that’s just how their coffee was. The server was not nice and she had this attitude which made me feel uncomfortable eating there I felt as though she might spit in my food or something so I didn’t eat the food I ordered due to feeling uncomfortable with the situation. Overall I would say this place isn’t worth it and service is not good.

Yelp
Visited Chegg a couple days ago and absolutely loved it! Everyone was so welcoming, and the food was delicious. As someone that works in the restaurant industry, the staff really seemed to actually enjoy being there. Which is hard to find. Also shoutout to the manager Justin and the server Kevin! Definitely will be back!

Yelp
We came in as a larger party and service was great!! 8 peoples orders and we did not wait a million years for food, drinks, boxes, or a bill. Food was solid, pancakes were a hit all around (blueberry, chocolate and jersey) and the cinnamon bun French toast is not to be missed for French Toast fans. Only thing that came up is a personal issue, not anything on establishment. My older son is ASD and it was louder than he liked but we solved this by getting his noise canceling headphones from the car. Outside of that my super picky ASD kiddo ate everything on his plate happily so clearly the volume with headphones was a non-issue.

Yelp
We old timers from Beach Haven knew Chicken or the Egg as the somewhat bizarre breakfast/lunch joint that made customers sign a liability release before participating in a Ludicrous Chicken Wing Eating Contest. Many of us accepted the challenge and promptly lost our shit when the spice quotient was so off the charts that it blew out our mouths in flames. The newer CHEGG in Marlton is a lovely hangout, more sports bar than full blown wing spot, still capable of blowing you up, but less dependent on that gimmick to bring you in the doors. The menu is broad and deep, with plenty of choice any time of day. My son and stepson still wanted to try the killer wings, but were smart enough to order real food as well if the Ludicrous Wing contest fell apart, as it inevitably did. One had a Turkey Wrap, and the other a Standard Burger and French Onion Soup. Those five conflagrationary wings proved too much to consume even with multiple glasses of milk to extinguish the fire, came home as three, with full episodes of gasping, sweating, tearing, moaning and running to the restroom. Their other food was fine, if not exceptional, and my Farmers Breakfast Melt (eggs, sausage, ham, onion, pepper, cheese) in a bowl, actually a quite good first meal of the day. Better than I recall available in Beach Haven. So, the Marlton shop is an upgrade for sure, with plenty of space in either large barroom or separate dining areas. Colorful, loud rock, and friendly servers in black Ts, making the experience as attractive as possible. Although close to an hour from home in Bucks, worth the trip to Jersey for the fun and flames. We agreed we would come again, despite the $100+ price tag for the three of us without a bar tab.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and had a pleasant experience. Came for dinner around 7 on a Saturday and it was pretty lively outside. Despite the inside being empty, there was a wait (I'm assuming due to short staffing). I ordered the 10 wings with the ludicrous sauce. The waiter suggested I order one step down (the obscene) since the one I wanted is insanely intense to the point it isn't enjoyable. The obscene had a very strong kick and I did sample the ludicrous sauce and holy moley was that thing HOT. I love spicy and have an insane tolerance for spice, but that would have been brutal to eat on wings in a large capacity. The server was great and worth five stars, but the food is average. Got the garlic pub fries and they were insanely greasy.

Yelp
Love it here. There's a blown speaker on the left side of the bar that needs to be replaced though lol. Please and thank you.

Yelp
After all the terrible reviews I guess we were lucky we had great service from LJ and we enjoyed all our food and drinks. I would say the libations could have been stronger, I didn't taste any alcohol at all. The place is super cute, I like the fun aesthetic and will definitely be back to try breakfast/brunch items. 8/10 overall

Yelp
I wasn't sure how much I'd like this place when I read about it, but it has turned out to be a pretty solid option, especially since it has a lot of outdoor/semi outdoor seating. Food is consistently pretty good, they have a pretty decent beer and drinks offering, and service is pretty good as well. The waffle is really good at any time of day. The vibe seems to get a little different if you go there on a Saturday for dinner, I guess to get ready for the partying side of things later in the evening, but overall a good addition to the area.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick breakfast while visiting Jersey. This is such a cute place. The service was quick and the food was really good. I can't wait to come back when it's warm to try the outdoor area.

Yelp
Solid experience overall. We agreed it was average at three stars, but it was definitely a step up from the last time. The food was good today. Slow start, we actually debated leaving because our server took way too long to make initial contact. Then, the server spilled one of our drinks on the table when they arrived. It was handled promptly and they were apologetic and alll. It was not a problem. Food came out and was good! Burgers were cooked well done. We were not asked for a doneness temp. Prefer medium. But they were good. Nice brioche buns, crispy bacon, fried eggs were just cooked with nice runny yolks. Tater tots were perfection. Crisp and hit. I will return,, and maybe they can make it up to four stars!

Yelp
Stopped for lunch. Forgot to take pictures of our salads but they were delicious. I ordered the Buffalo chicken salad which came with two boneless chicken breast fried and tossed in the sauce of your choose. I picked medium which was had just enough heat without taking away from the Buffalo flavoring. We sat outside which was lovely on a cool Saturday afternoon. They have a large outdoor section with even a bathroom so no need to go inside for anything. Service was good, quick with a refill and didn't feel rushed.

Yelp
Quick service on a Sunday NFL night. They were kind enough to switch a few TVs to the Steelers game for us. Food came quick and was amazing. Got the slamming chicken sandwich, easily one of the best I've ever had. Ambience is open bar type, plenty of seating and mildly rowdy crowds.

Yelp
When: Tuesday Morning Service: seated right away and waitress was attentive and able to answer questions about the menu. Food: ordered a create your own omelette and it was packed! Like too much in it. The egg was basically the side. Had a side of chicken sausage, that could have stayed in the kitchen. You get 4 large patties. But they are clearly previously frozen patties. Not nasty, but I didn't even get through one whole one, just wasn't good. The pineapple habenero wings were good. The flavor was on point, I'm just not a huge fan of breaded fried wings and then tossed in sauce. The waffle was surprisingly good. Drinks: got the Cheggnog and Bellini both good, but strong.

Yelp
I have been hearing a lot of good things and had to check it out. I haven't been to the original one so I can't compare but this place was great. Very modern decor and a lot of space. The staff was very attentive and on top of our orders. I ordered the French onion soup which was really good, cheese could have been a little burnt but that is just preference , ask for well done if your into that. The smokehouse burger was really good. Perfect size burger patty and crispy bacon with a terrific BBQ Sauce. They have so many options into sauce options I was very impressed. The bar is stocked and has a plethora of beers on tap. This is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch , dinner or after hours. I will be back.

Yelp
The hosts were nice, Kevin our waiter was attentive and took care of a problem. Let's talk about the problem. I ordered a chicken sandwich, the chicken had a very strange texture, and the "breading" fell off. I was expecting maybe hand breaded fresh chicken, not industrial frozen crap. I was very disappointed.

Yelp
Went there on Wednesday, 1/22 and sat at the bar. They had 2 bartenders, a male and female. The guy was great, no problems at all. However I can't say the same thing about the other bartender. Our food order came out incorrect. It wasn't a big deal at all. In fact, the food runner took care of everything for us. He was great. When he brought out the correct order, the bartender came up to us asked "is everything ok, now?", as if things weren't ok with us before. The order came out incorrect and it was fixed, so of course things are good. I think she was just mad because she messed up a really simple order, but decided to get an attitude with us for no reason. When it came time to get the check, she delivered the check on the little clipboard and slammed it in front of us. It felt quite unnecessary, but maybe it slipped out of her hands or something, I don't know. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. After she ran our card and gave it back, she slammed the clipboard in front of us AGAIN!! I had no idea what was going on. We go there enough so they should remember our faces. We also tip fairly well and never cause any kinda of problems, so I don't know what we did to deserve this kind of attitude. They usually have another bartender there on Wednesday's, but she wasn't there that night. That bartender is usually a delight and I have zero complaints about her. It was this other bartender who had the attitude. Either way, I think we'll be finding a new spot to spend our Wednesday nights. We come here to get a couple drinks, wings and go home. We don't ask for much, but this bartender completely ruined this place for us. I can tolerate the terrible music they play, but i definitely cannot tolerate rude bartenders.

Yelp
Overall a pretty decent place to visit if in the area. It's a hit or miss on the food. Have been a couple times and it always happens one person food is not good. For example for the visit the breakfast bowl the eggs were so dried and rubbery. My favorites are the corn nuggets. They remind me of Church's Chicken nuggets in Puerto Rico. Service has always been great from the server to the hostess the service is consistent. The place is pretty big with outside seating and can accommodate big parties.

Yelp
I'm so surprised by the amount of poor reviews on here! My friends and I came last night for dinner and drinks, we had an awesome experience. Our server Des was so sweet and kept checking on us to make sure we were good on drinks. Started with the nachos, which were great! Loaded with toppings and a perfect shareable. I got the BCW with their "Beesting" sauce (reminded me of a more mild version of hot and honey) which was delicious. The fries were perfectly crispy. Great drink menu with a lot of options on tap, good mixed drink menu as well. After our meal we hung out in the outdoor area where there were couches, fire pit seating, and cornhole. Looks like they're working on getting TVs put up on the outside as well, which will bring even more appeal to the area. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
The food was ok. I've been here multiple times and the food consistent. The service was a little slow although the waitress was very friendly but could have been more attentive. I gave it two stars because the amount of house flies and fruit flies were out of control. They were all over the walls the ceiling. We spent the entire meal swatting them away from us and the food, I know it's summer and I can deal with some but this was close to horror movie level amount of flies. We were eating inside not out.

Yelp
Food is fantastic for EXACTLY what it's supposed to be. Chicken Fingers, Wings and Breakfast. Period. Case closed. Delicious comfort food served in a fun place with great servers and staff. Oh No, my food took 14 minutes to arrive. Let me come on line and trash them. JUST JOKING. CHEGG is a great place to come with the kids or your friends and R E L A X!!!!! #CHEGG #BestWings

Yelp
The Moscow Mules are absolutely delicious, and I can't resist the sweet potato fries--especially when I dip them in cheese sauce. I have to say, it's an addiction because it's just that good! I really enjoy going there with friends, family, or even kids if you have any.

Yelp
The Chegg food was delicious! The ambiance was family atmosphere great. It felt like a fun Chickie & Pete' vibe to me! Burger and fries were tasty!!

Yelp
Finally had my first Chegg experience Friday night after attending the Phillies home opener. I didn't have high expectations, despite being excited about the news of it opening, due to poor reviews and pictures of the food. Overall I'd say it was pretty mediocre. There were a few bar seats open so we sat at the bar. First impression was the entire restaurant was huge. Very big bar with lots of bar seats. Spacious with many tables throughout. The many TVs, I think, will make Chegg a nice spot to watch games especially with how crowded Chickies gets down the street. The menu is colorful and easy to follow. It's nice they serve breakfast all day even though I'm not a huge breakfast person. There's a wide variety of options to choose from, but the prices are very high. Almost $2 / wing, $5-$6 for light beers, $8-$9 for local craft beers, $8 for house wine, $14 for martinis. I just don't feel the quality of the restaurant matched price of the drinks. I started with ordering an IPA I've never had off of Chegg's rotating draft list only to be informed they no longer have that beer on tap. I ended up going with a Porter from Spellbound which I enjoyed but again the price is hard to justify. My girlfriend ordered a glass of house Cabernet which she liked. She ended up getting 5 wings with garlic spice sauce. They were big and crispy. We did enjoy those. I ordered the fat chegg which was a wrap with Buffalo chicken fingers, mozz sticks, onion rings, poppers, and fries served with a side of fries. I chose the killer beesting sauce which I could hardly taste. Not sure if it was all the breading inside of the wrap from all the fried food but it was all very dry. The side of fries were good though. All in all I think there's a lot of potential here. I may be back since it is pretty conveniently located for me. Pros: Atmosphere was very good. Ample seating throughout and TVs to watch the game. Our bartenders were nice. Large menu with breakfast all day. Cons: prices were very high, not only for the setting but compared to higher quality establishments. Food was mediocre.

Yelp
So we went back to give it another try and decided it would be just the two of us and we could sit at the bar and order wings. It was a happy accident we went on a Sunday afternoon. Sat outside and there was live music that was very entertaining. Ordered chicken tenders which were very tasty. No complaints. The Waiter was nice guy. The atmosphere was perfect for a Sunday dinner afternoon. My new spot for outdoor dining on Sundays

Yelp
Went there tonight for dinner. Nice atmosphere and excellent food and service! We'll definitely be going back

Yelp
Excited to try this place with so much local anticipation for the opening. Came for brunch on Friday and it was packed. Parking was crazy. Huge menu so lots to choose from. I picked the $9.99 Texas Toast French toast. It was meh. It was described as extra thick French toast...and it wasn't. Hubs tried the Cinnamon Roll French toast which was a decent portion but he just wasn't wowed by the portion size or flavor. The space is huge with lots of blaring TVs and music so don't plan on having any quiet conversations when you come during busy times. Sadly I doubt I will return.

Yelp
2.5 stars ... this place needs to get it's collective act together!!! It's big and beautiful and all new inside but all that glitters is certainly not gold! (I didn't like the ugly chicken artwork either). Our server was often MIA and some of the dishes took super long to come out. The chicken pot pie looked like a crock of soup with a fancy rectangular piece of pastry over top! (I just met the girl who had it or I would've taken a picture ... she said "Marie Callender's was better!") I personally would have sent that thing back! The chicken nachos were supposedly good (not great) and I would've had ordered them if it weren't a night meal (always watching my carb intake!). I had a Caesar salad. It came in a small cereal-sized bowl and it was literally just romaine, croutons, and dressing! Totally bland and it was $11. Rip off! (I asked how much "market price" was for an added seared crab cake - ONE crab cake? ... $12!) Mixed reviews on the drinks. My one friend loved his (said it was strong) but ... $18 !!! NEV-ER for me! Another friend was unimpressed. The sorting of a big group bill was nothing short of a 3-ring circus! It gave me a headache! Bring your cash because there is a 3.5% fee if you use a card on top of all of the aforementioned mess! I will not be returning to this all over the place target marketing mess- HARD PASS!

Yelp
We have been to this location about 3-4 times in the past few months. Last night we went to watch the March Madness game. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. They were playing the music really loudly and didn't have the commentary on for the games. We sat up at the bar and the TVs are directly above making you have to strain your neck to watch. We ended up not staying very long due to the TVs being at a bad angle. We had a few beers as well as their fudge brownie. The brownie sundae was unfortunately nothing like the one they serve in LBI. The brownie lacked flavor and was dry. We like the location in LBI a lot more. They also charge a 3.5% credit card fee.

Yelp
Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...this spot was actually recommended by my coworker. He brought us and a group of colleagues out for dinner and drinks. When we arrived, the spot was really busy and jumping. Although it was busy, the noise level was not that crazy. I absolutely LOVE eggs so I was so excited to see the menu and what being offered. Can you imagine everything you could come up with was on the menu? Talk about being in heaven. The food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. If you are looking for something different and want a good ambiance, this is your spot!

Yelp
Very basic breakfast. Pancakes were terrible definitely don't recommend. Pretty tough to screw up eggs. Diner is better and cheaper.

Yelp
Great food and waitress was very nice . Little to no wait to be seated. The drinks were pretty good too, I had the blackberry mule and it was so fresh . They haves cool merch as well. I got the Tye die logo t shirt and I worn it a few times already . I wish I was closer to this location , it was so good that I don't mind a trip every now and then on our way to/from the beach or for Brunch . Not too pricey either .

Yelp
Wings were way too big. I asked for them crispy and they didn't come crispy. Expensive as well. They should use smaller wings and lower the price. Best thing about it was free celery and ranch but at $2/wing not really free.

Justin D.

Yelp
As most residents who live in the area have noted numerous times this establishment blasts terrible, awful music with no regard for those living in the vicinity. People are forced to listen to someone press play on some premade list of hits or play 'karaoke' at well over 100 decibels for hours on end, basically taking advantage of a township ordinance they received. If you live in the area and have been disturbed by the noise and forced to listen to something you want nothing to do with and it has disturbed your living and peace here are some legal steps you can take. -File an official noise complaint with Evesham NJ Police Department in person. -Write an email to burlingtoncountynj.formstack.com/form/burl which is the County Health Department regarding the egregious noise. -Write an email to the Community Development at Rijsk@evesham-nj.gov regarding awful noise. I also ate there once, waited forever and it was terrible and overpriced...what a win for the community.

Yelp
I finally had a chance to pop in and try this place. Decor is very cute outside, and colorful entrance makes an exciting vibe. I literally had a stomach growl driving and noticed this place, so I had to pop in for a quick bite. It was about 730pm on a Monday night, and it was quick. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes. My server was very friendly. Attentive with smiles. I can't remember her name, darn... dark hair and very pleasant. I browsed the menu full of chicken and egg options, and I opted for shrimp 10 for 19.99. Hahaha. They had Buffalo shrimp, and you can have any of the sauces that they use for the chicken. I tried a garlic bbq and mild Buffalo. Both were very tasty. I was hoping my shrimp were going to be a fresh battered crispy plate of 10. Whomp whomp.. they were more like the frozen battered flat butterflied shrimp you see at a buffet or buy frozen... they were good but not original, no egg dipped batter or anything special. My expectations got the best of me. I will go back and try something more signature on the menu. Perhaps... hence the name to see if there is something more unique. It's a bit pricey as my plate of shrimp did not come with a side. I gobbled them down and got back on the road. 4 for service!

Yelp
Everything here was just ok. The food was eh. I had the corn bites which were awesome however my wings were below average at best. I got them naked with the pineapple habanero sauce. The wings were very rubbery bland. The pineapple taste was great but sadly there was no heat from the habanero. Service was good. Not the best but nothing I would complain about. This was a good place to go for a beer and a late lunch with my buddy and our two young kids. The kids menu had a good selection. Overall the there was lots of food and beer to choose from. Service was ok and the place was clean. I don't know if I need to go back mostly because for just average to low quality food it's very expensive for what it is. Wings shouldn't be 19.98 for 10.

Yelp
I was hoping to have better experience ! I was disappointed. Our server Trishlyn was very good and this review has nothing to do with her service! But the food was not what I expected. I asked for onions and peppers to be added to my home fries and they just dumped big chunks of raw onions and peppers onto the potatoes. I heard this restaurant is a big deal in the shore area so I will give it another try.

Yelp
The only place I eat at down in LBI... not kidding! It's a staple on the island. The staff are cool & the service is quick!

Yelp
I don't want to hate this place and not posting for bad attention towards this establishment but it's very much a bad chain restaurant as of now. It's new and I understand some bumps along the way are in order but the food here is or can be frozen reheated dishes. The chicken wasn't fresh and the corn beef on the Reuben wasn't chewy and too thick with lots of fat still on it. It was tough to bite and chew without falling apart. The fries I do have to say are gold and crispy. The wings were good but I'm pretty I got plain buffalo and not "Beesting" like I ordered. If I did then it didn't any different the. Buffalo. Inside is very big and they took time to decorate. Both bars are available to sit 15-20 people which you can beat. The drinks were strong but enjoyable. Service was slow I have to say but everyone was really nice. A bunch of older teenagers working I understand can be frustrating but some just don't want to work with effort put behind it. We have hope and will be back but just to sit at the bar and order apps with our drinks.

Yelp
So disappointing as this really had the potential to be great. Love the outdoor seating though the music was way to loud as we could not hear each other and wait staff were challenged as well but loved intimate seating areas and outdoor space. What was surprising and made this so disappointing was the food and service. For an eatery with Chicken in its name you would expect something other than poor quality frozen chicken fingers dumped in a fryer with a side of sauce that tasted like a side of wishbone salad dressing. I have been to many great chicken places that actually make and bread their own chicken and make homemade sauce. Not here.... Requested place settings and napkins which took forever to even get utensils to eat with. Would recommend coming for drinks but definitely dinner was disappointing Trust me Tyson's frozen chicken tenders would have been better and definitively cheaper than what we paid for the equivalent of generic frozen chicken tenders. Come for bar but if you are looking for a meal. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Yelp
What restaurant in 2023 add credit card surcharge? That tells what management cares most about, that too when answer to hair in drink is "it's cute" and not sorry . Sad to see prime location in marlton getting wasted by place like this . Do yourself some favour and avoid this filthy place where filthy menu waits for u on sticky tables . Never again.

Yelp
I was familiar with the Long Beach Island location, but this was a bit different. The ambience was more of a bar; similar to PJ's or Chickie & Pete's. The outdoor area was extensive, as was the seating inside. The service was good; the menu had countless options. The food left a lot to be desired. I got a Farmer's Omelette and my friend got a chicken sandwich. Both were mediocre, at best. For a "chicken and egg" joint, I thought our choices would be some of their more celebrated menu options. However, the food was bland and low quality. Come for the fun ambience, but not for the food.

Yelp
This was my first time dining here. I've heard mixed reviews so I had to try for myself. We were seated immediately upon entering. There were not many customers at 11:30am on a rainy Friday. We had a great view of the multiple tv's. I can see this place getting busy when major sports are on. The food was ok. I got The Local Yolkal which is 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, home fries, toast and french toast.

Yelp
Came here for a happy hour only to learn you can't order food outside. Sat at a table inside and learned that we could eat outside, but have to order food at the outside bar and pick it up yourself. Seemed like we were getting different answers from different people. Ordered a cocktail, which came after our food arrived. Ordered an overpriced half a waffle off the kids menu for $7... it was just a regular waffle, nothing spectacular, and it didn't come with anything. Also got wings, which were just ok, a bit dry. All of the sauces were tangy and liquidy. Service was super slow. Left and ate the rest of my dinner at home. Not impressed, will not be back.

Yelp
Food and service was below average. The chicken and waffles are not good. The waffle was too soft. The fried chicken piece was like a chicken parm type thing-- not crispy. Gravy wasn't very flavorful.

Yelp
We went for Mother's Day because we wanted to try something new and different. They don't take reservations so we were told it was a 50 minute wait. Not a big deal for us because we were a party of 8 so we understood. It was actually 1 hour and 15 minutes. The outdoor area for waiting is really nice and comfortable. Gave us plenty of time to chat and have a drink while we waited. The food portions were huge and reasonably priced. My meal was ok. I had the omelet with chicken tender, bacon and cheese topped with honestly gravy. Eggs were good but gravy was cold. I'll definitely go back to try other things as the concept is really cool! Great drinks too.

Yelp
I have been here for both breakfast on a Sunday and dinner on a Friday. The breakfast was really good. I loved the chicken and waffles! Their cocktails are also good. Our waitress was friendly and the service was rather quick. We came here around 10:30 am on a Sunday and didn't have to wait to get a table. I was worried about the music being super loud after being told this by many people, but the music was not loud at all. When we came for dinner on a Friday, however, the music was LOUD. So I guess they turn it up for the evening? The A/C was also blasting and it was freezing in there. I tried the wings for the first time and they were really good. Our waitress was friendly, but things took a little longer even thought the restaurant wasn't actually that full. Overall, our experience with breakfast was way better.

Yelp
Visiting from NY & I have never been here before. Service was terrible @ the outside bar. Bartenders would just walk right past you and the worst part is it wasn't even busy! One girl had sunglasses on and on her phone texting behind the bar while people were waiting for service. Ridiculous. Ill never be back!

Yelp
How have none of the reviews mentioned that the food is brought out as it's ready and not as a whole? Meaning if you have 4 people everyone is getting their food at a different time. What a strange take on trying to do a sort of tapas. This makes zero sense when it's supposedly a family atmosphere - I could understand at a higher end kitchen but this is not what Cheg is. When it first opened it wasn't this way but the kitchen was TERRIBLE. We waited 2 hours for 3 dishes. I think they moved this direction when they couldn't get it under control. It's only been open a few months and it is already showing signs of being neglected. One of the sinks in the women's bathroom is broken, the chicken outside has several missing pieces off the giant statue, the stools outside are already run down after 1 summer, the tables are already mismatched. It's just a whole mess. We have gone 4 times and today was the final time. My entire family was done eating before I received my 5 chicken wings. It's just strange. There is also a 3%+ credit card charge. This is a restaurant in 2023, come on.
