We were greeted warmly upon entering by the friendly and engaging owner, who offered recommendations and encouraged us to ask any questions. They have unique chocolate sections, including "weird" and vegan options - truly eccentric! We enjoyed a $10 chocolate flight with 10 different types, a great way to sample international flavors and textures. We purchased a bar from the flight for $16, a bit pricey but worth supporting this local business, especially with the owner's kindness. At happy hour, she even gifted us a complimentary beverage.
A fun scavenger hunt is one of the coolest things they do - they have versions for kids and adults. I mistakenly grabbed the kids' one! The scavenger hunt words are found on packaging or throughout the shop, as the owner mentioned everything is fair game. I wish I could have spent more to support this wonderful shop, but we'd already spent our budget exploring the city, and I'm watching my sugar intake. I highly recommend visiting this great shop in Echo Park. Remember, this is a chocolate dispensary, not a weed one!
We were immediately greeted as we entered. The owner was very friendly and engaging. She offered some recommendations and asked us to please ask her of any questions we might have.
They have different sections of chocolate such as: weird, vegan etc. They truly have some eccentric types of the chocolates.
They even had a chocolate flight where you could sample 10 different types of chocolates for $10. This was a good way for us to discover some different kinds of chocolate from around the world with different tastes and textures.
We ended up buying a bar of chocolate from the chocolate flight. It cost $16 which is a bit more expensive than what I pay for the chocolate, but I was more than happy to support a local mom and pop type of business especially since the owner was super kind and engaging.
For the start of happy hour, she even brought us a complimentary beverage to sample.
One of the coolest things they do at the Chocolate Dispensary is a scavenger hunt. They have two kind of scavenger hunts: one for children and one for adults. I didn't know that and grabbed the one for children. What does that say about me? I suppose I like it easy..Anyways, the scavenger hunt had different words that are found either on the front or back of the packaging or on anything inside the shop. As the owner mentioned everything inside the shop was fair game.
I really wanted to spend more money at the shop to support this wonderful shop, but we already spent too much money exploring the city. Not to mention, I'm trying to watch my sugar intake. I recommend y'all come to Echo Park and support this great shop.
Remember, this is a chocolate dispensary not a weed dispensary. Sorry stoners!
