Chop House - Review - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Every good Midwest town needs a classic Steakhouse, and Chop House is the Ann Arbor version. Located on Main St., Chop House could be in any big city and nobody would blink an eye. Come for business, serious date night, dinner with the parents, or a special occasion if you have a reason to celebrate with your friends. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

It was our first visit and we had the best experience dining here. Leo was our phenomenal server- friendly & caring and we never had to ask for anything. We tried so many different foods and they were all fantastic. For my main course I had the pork chop which is not something I would typically go for on a menu but it was 100% the best pork chop I’ve ever had in my life. The sauce was impeccable and the meat was cooked to perfection. The lamb chop lollipops also stood out, the meat was tender, the sauce was out of this world, and the salad was light and crisp. We weren’t really celebrating anything but a small anniversary but Leo still made us feel special by bringing out a fun chocolate plate. We also tried the lemon sorbet and it was the perfect refresher after all the delicious savory. Overall for the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere it was one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at and was worth the price.

Google
amazing experience! seriously couldn’t rave enough, we had 2 separate people helping table us, and these ladies were great. we sadly don’t remember their names but they were so kind and helpful. were we were seated was a sit alone able for 2, and we kept saying how it was a perfect area! felt like we had a whole section to our self. our main waitress, incredibly helpful with any questions and honestly made us feel like real people who would frequent a place like this… (we never go out) any questions we had she helped but also just chatted with us lightly she was a great personality and waitress. the second waitress helping also so kind and she brought out our desserts and checked in a few times. again made us feel like we belonged. we raved about the amazing blondie for dessert. these ladies definitely made our experience special, but we also wanna just shout out how phenomenal the food was. 10/10 for everything, the mashed potatoes were the best we’ve ever had. mock tails were amazing as well! will definitely be back.

Phenomenal food and outstanding service ! Went here on my birthday and got the beef wellington. It was amazing and the service was top notch. Definitely will be back and will recommend to friends. 10☆

I’ve reserved the private room at Chop House Ann Arbor multiple times for business gatherings and social events, and I continue to be incredibly impressed. From start to finish, the experience is top-notch, and the team goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs seamlessly. Lindsay has been our host on both occasions, facilitating every detail with professionalism and care. My groups have ranged from 10 to 15 people, and each time, the service, ambiance, and food have exceeded expectations. I always strive to create a first-class experience for my guests, and Chop House Ann Arbor delivers every time. If you’re looking for an upscale, well-executed dining experience—especially for private events—this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

Google
We had a family post-Christmas dinner and it was fantastic. Yes, it was pricey, but as they say, you get what you pay for. It has been some years since I've eaten here and my past experience was not great. This time however was a much better experience. The service was exceptional and the food was outstanding. We really could not have asked for a better meal. If you are looking for that special dining experience I would highly recommend the Chop House.

Google
Went here recently for the first time and we truly enjoyed the entire experience and the quantity prepared food. Service was absolutely on par with this quality and we had a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere. Great experience just be aware it's pricey. My amazing Cowboy steak was $80 and no sides but I'm not angry, it was the best beef I've had that I can remember. Plus, when you do add sides they can definitely be shared plates. We loved it. Can't wait to go again.

Beautiful. From beginning to end we were greeted warmly and given time to decide. They food came out timely and our server was very attentive. Food was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic!

💥🎉👉This is definitely as "special event" place. It is priced high but the quality of food and the service was worth it. I loved their bread which comes at every meal. Servers come promptly to give you more bread once you are out. I ordered a lobster gnocchi and it was divine! The sauce flavorful and the gnocchi was perfect. I had the French onion soup. I wanted to be open-minded, but I'm just not a French onion person. Lol. I think I'd try the Maine lobster bisque next time, as well as the beef wellington. Looking forward to another special event for me to go there again. 😊

Yelp
9-29-2024 We were a party of 6 and came for a double birthday. The service was great and the also the ambiance, but we thought the food was a little subpar for the price. I did enjoy my Dover sole and the sauteed spinach and mac & cheese are highly recommended.

Yelp
I'd rate it a 4.5. This is my sister and her finances favorite steak place in the area. The main dishes and sides were all pretty much amazing. The service was very good. It reminds me of service at top Michelin restaurants. However, I didn't care so much for the Cesar salad. Pretty disappointed in it given how good everything else was.

Yelp
TLDR: the food fails to meet the same quality as its service. Overall Rating: 2.5/10 Amount Spent: ~$170 for 2 people (including tax and tip) -- Wish I could rate this place higher. The service? Id give it a solid 9/10, although they did have a mishap or two, they were on top of their game tonight. What knocked off that last point was 2 things: - When we ordered our steak, we asked for it cooked to a medium, but apparently they don't offer that and our waiter never bothered to mention that to us (found out when the steak came to the table) - When something across the dining room dropped, a few of the waiters sighed very heavily and made random noises (even rolled their eyes). Not saying they shouldn't have those emotions, but it's just not something I want to see or hear when I'm eating, especially in an establishment like this. But even with the service being as good as it was... I come to restaurants for the food, not the service. The food: Hard 4.5/10, reaching 5 to 5.5 Don't get me wrong, it wasn't an entire disappointment, the crab/lobster cakes and the lobster bisque were great (although I do wish the bisque had more lobster, it had body, and that made up for it). Although I wouldn't recommend coming here, if you end up still going: I'd say those are two things that you DEFINITELY have to order... Now here's why I say you shouldn't come here. For a steak house, you'd think they know how to cook their steaks to any temp. We asked for our steak to be cooked to a medium (since my S/O prefers to not eat overly "red" meat) but the steak came out blue - medium rare. A gradient cook isn't the worst, but the fact that it was blue and the waiter had the audacity to tell us that it was "true medium rare" is crazy talk. I've been on the grill since I was 8, I know what medium rare looks like. Wish I took a picture of the actual meat rather than just having a shot of the bone, but trust me, it looked virtually identical. When we sent it back we expected a re-fire since it was pre sliced, but they simply reheated the same steak again, so it came out tough, chewy, and over cooked this time. 3/10 Note: steak was extra salty as well, which is ironic, since the two sides we ordered with it had virtually no seasoning. The sides? Ordered the 3 cheese Mac and the wild sautéed mushrooms. 3 cheese mac was cooked well, but had literally no flavor. 5.5/10 Wild mushrooms look good, but that's all it has. No seasoning and half of it was undercooked. Not really fun chewing into raw, under seasoned mushrooms on your anniversary dinner. 4/10

Yelp
I will start by saying I don't typically go to many fancy steakhouses so take this review with a grain of salt. I came here solely because my little brother wanted to go to a "fancy" steakhouse and not a chain like Texas Roadhouse. My fiancé and I ordered the beef Wellington and the salmon. We split half-and-half and they were nice enough to split it for us! My brother and his girlfriend got steaks, I believe he got the Wagyu and she got the filet. We also ordered 3 sides to share - brussels sprouts, potatoes au gratin, and mac & cheese. I will say all the food was delicious and the service was immaculate. I can understand why people would go to a fancy steakhouse! Would I come back? Maybe. I would come back for another special occasion, but this is not a restaurant that I would go to just to have because I was hungry. Everything was honestly amazing, but the bill for 4 people was over $500. But also keep in mind, my brother's Wagyu was $100 just for the steak so it's possible this could've been a little cheaper. Personally, I don't think it's worth it, but for another special occasion, I would come back, I have no complaints!

Yelp
Cozy steakhouse atmosphere with accommodating, professional, welcoming service. Delicious lobster bisque and great steak and mushrooms. Latte good too. All enjoyed their steaks which were well-cooked and very tasty!

Yelp
Overall I think this restaurant is one that you should try at least ONCE in your lifetime. Fortunately I went with my family because of my birthday this past month and I had a very enjoyable time! The ambiance was great and the waiter was very friendly and guided you through their menu and cooking styles! The food was great! The Wagyu steak was delicious, the au gratin were tasty, but unfortunately nothing too exciting. The salmon was delicious and the complimentary bread was astounding. Hard to go wrong here and I highly recommend!

Yelp
Fancy ambiance with a capital F - this is a grad dinner or a special anniversary dinner. The wagyu steak was so well marbled - the first few bites were heaven and then it got a little greasy, which the sides helped with. The bone in was juicy and well cooked. Staff was attentive, recommended great sauces to pair with steak, and were overall pleasant and friendly.

Yelp
One of the last restaurants I have left on my list for downtown AA! We had the calamari to start and it was alright. Not too much flavors on it. It was the same with the dry age steak - it was pretty good but it wasn't quite worth the price tag. The salad was really good, and the french onion soup was one of my favorites for sure. They do have the best service in Ann Arbor, loved the experience just for the service alone and also the vibe was great.

Yelp
Exquisite! Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly. Even our drinks had our eye's rolling back! Service was excellent, ambiance was pleasant, including the cigar bar? In the basement. The cigar scent was restricted to the lower level. Did I mention dessert!? Crème brûlée from heaven and German chocolate cake from a southern aunt's kitchen, I'm pretty sure.... 10/10

Yelp
Our group came here for our co-workers birthday while in town on business tonight. The decor is lovely and matches the old building perfectly. The table service and customer service was top notch. The food was absolutely delicious. Our group ordered varying dishes - the filet, the NY strip, the lamb chops, the roasted chicken and many of the accompaniments such as the mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, smashed potatoes, and lobster gnocchi. We also had the French onion soup and chopped salad as an appetizer. We each enjoyed every bit of it. I highly recommend The Chop House for a nice dinner or special occasion.

Yelp
Honestly, I was disappointed. I made a reservation weeks ago to celebrate a special occasion. We were seated promptly and handed iPads where we could scroll through the large menu and see photos of each item before ordering. On the whole, this was useful but not a make-or-break. The venue itself was an old school kind of cozy with a smoking lounge downstairs where the bathroom is located. After we ordered, we were served mini popovers that were quite average and more chewy and rubbery than soft and buttery. The service was slow and our servers were not the most attentive and required multiple flag downs before our glasses were refilled. When our steaks and 3 accompaniments finally arrived about 40 minutes later, we were looking forward to experiencing the $200+ we were spending.... Each of our 3 sides was $12-$15 each and the vegetables we ordered (brussel sprouts and miso roasted broccoli) were fine but overly buttered to the point where it was overpowering. The french fries might have been the best of the three.... The steak itself which was supposed to be the star was nothing special and lacked flavor. After visiting multiple steakhouses, this really was not it. Even when we ordered, our server made sure we were aware that their version of medium rare is "different" ...or cooked to a lower interior temperature from other steakhouses which we found peculiar. The cuts we were given were alright but more fat and sinew than meat. What irritated us most was the consistent pestering asking us whether "everything was wonderful" when it was not. If you're into steakhouses, this is not it. Insanely overpriced for what you get in food and in service. I would not return.

Yelp
Chop House truly serves up a fine dining experience in Ann Arbor with food and service that has so far been unmatched. Everything about the meal was flawless! Every dish we ordered was a hit and my husband and I quickly decided this was going to be our go to special occasion/date night spot from now on. Just be careful if you have any cuts on your hands when they come by for the hot towel service as the fresh lemon juice that's squeezed into your hands can really sting LOL. Jokes aside, the bread service came with a single muffin of Brazilian cheese bread that was delicious but very filling as it has a very mochi like consistency. Other things I found impressive about chop house is that they make all their sauces and dressings in house, and the fish on the menu is never more than 48 hours old from having been removed from where they were fished out of! Here's everything we ordered: Lollipop lamb chop appetizer: so good! And for $25 o thought it was a pretty generous serving as there's a good amount of meat to these and they were delicious! Oysters on the half shell: fresh, clean, and sweet tasting and that cocktail sauce was divine, I love a good zing to my horseradish Wagyu ribeye: loved this! It was 16 oz so we had it split for my hubs and I and it was really good. I don't believe this could be true Japanese wagyu because for 16oz this was $100 and didn't come with a certificate presented so I imagine this must have been American wagyu, but nonetheless the steak was cooked with a super yummy crust and served with a peppercorn sauce that was to die for Glazed Brussel sprouts: these were delicious and the perfect way to balance out the savoriness of the steak Wild mushrooms: these were excellent as well! Buttery, truffley, mushroomy goodness Banana foster bread pudding: they offered us a table at their cigar lounge downstairs named La Dolce Vita where we ordered our dessert at, which was a true cigar lounge! I'll write more on that in a separate review :) but the dessert itself was so well done, my sweets averse husband even liked it! Like I said, everything was a hit here, and we really look forward to bringing guests and celebrating more special occasions here

Yelp
Came for a proper dinner after celebrating a UM win. We started with some lobster bisque & French onion soup. The lobster bisque was everything you want, plump lobster & velvety broth. The French onion soup was a bit underwhelming, the broth was not super beefy and the onions were a little overly sweet. I was hoping for a more peppery bite but it didn't come. On to the main course Hubs had a filet: perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had the crab & lobster cakes: no filler here, these were amazing! Seared to perfection! Our side was the lobster gnocchi. In my opinion, could've used more salt yet executed well. Met expectations for sure. We would certainly go back.

Yelp
A really nice steakhouse with solid atmosphere and great service. I had a good time when I visited (B)

Yelp
Excellent service, delicious food. The scallop appetizer was so tasty and the New York strip was perfectly seasoned and tender. The creamed corn, Mac and cheese and sautéed spinach(very garlicky) were all tasty. The steaks are very thick so they always come out cooked a bit less than what you ask for. The waitress told us to ask for them to be cooked more than what you normally like. E.g., for medium, I asked for medium well and it came out perfectly medium. With the appetizers and sides, we probably could have split a steak. The Bailey's cookies and cream gelato was a perfect ending to a great meal.

Yelp
After moving to Ann Arbor recently, the chophouse has always been my go to nice restaurant. The ambience is great, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The care that the chiefs put into every dish is amazing! The only piece of advice I have for someone eating here is that the jumbo crab shrimp is not the flavor I was expecting. It was slightly overcooked, and I hate to say that the crab was a bit "fishy". However, it was just a personal opinion of flavor as someone else at the table really liked it! Overall, amazing restaurant!

Yelp
So the food and service was good. My review is more for the experience. For food- we ordered two soups, my strip, scallops, and au gratin potatoes. Our soups never came. We also said something because it had been like 45 min but then the waitress brought out the change of silverware to include steak knives so at that point we figured we'd just forget about the soup. We also inquired about the dessert room but asked if there was a smoke free section. Were were told no - which is fine. However, when we were brought down she specifically said that there was only 1-2 people smoking at that time so we shouldn't be too bothered. We wouldn't have been accept she sat us right next to someone who was smoking, we understand it's a cigar bar but be cognizant of where you're sitting your customers. There were plenty of other seats away from the two smokers- so this was lack of attention on the server's part in my opinion. Overall the food was good. But we've dined at my steakhouses in multiple cities and this was by far the worst experience. The pricing is typical for that level of dining but service needs improvement in the details.

Yelp
We took our daughter here for her 21st birthday and it did not disappoint. From the perfectly crafted martinis to the incredible steaks and salmon, I honestly cannot think of anything that wasn't close to perfection. The service was also over the top excellent. You know it's going to be really expensive when you decide to come here, so I'm not going to comment on the prices. After all, your daughter only turns 21 once and she deserves the best. This is hands down the best steakhouse that Ann Arbor has to offer. In an era of post COVID mediocre dining experiences with overpriced, lack luster food and poor service, it's nice to go to a place that reminds you of how great a dining experience can be.

Yelp
Hello People this Is the BEST Place In Ann Arbor to Eat. Very Clean, Great Ambiance, Great Service. And AMAZING Food And Drinks. Only one down side they will not go Gluten Free. But that does not effect My Review. I stand by everything I have said here.

Yelp
Always been a favorite since they opened the doors! Great Good, Great Service, Great times! This was my "go to" spot to celebrate my husband's birthday each year - they truly know how to treat their clientele - date night or a special event, it's well worth the trip down "Main Street"!

Yelp
Nice wine list. Found some decent Chablis and a good Napa Merlot. Had a delicious Fruit of the Sea with shrimp, fish, and sweet scallop. Ordered asparagus on side which was also good. They had some nice looking deserts but was too full and passed this time. Most frustrating part os that they packed up the leftovers only so that i could forget them there. Argh. Hate it when that happens.

Sena Y.

Yelp
The food was delicious, especially the beef chops, and lobsters.. Ambiance was incredible with the live music. And servis was so friendly, welcoming and helpful.. I had great time with my friend.. thank you :)

Yelp
Sadly my experience was extremely affected by the ambiance that night. Our waitress was great and helped us order and then once we received our food, a very loud couple sat near us. They were talking about us as if we were not there, really such a strange feeling, almost being watched and observed like zoo animals. For example, I was treating my partner for winning an award for his program and I heard "wait, is she paying? Or is he?" from the couple. That was just one of the moments during the time we were there. It was very bizarre. Honestly, the food couldn't make up for that unsettling feeling. I really wanted to like our experience there. I know this does not reflect the establishment's work but I mean, it happened in the restaurant and I don't think I'll be back.

Julia S.

Yelp
Food is Delicious! Service is excellent! We order scalloper salmon oysters lamp and shrimps! Desert is also good looking and tastes well! Will come back definitely!

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for years and we were finally able to go on Valentines Day! It's now one of my fav in Ann Arbor. We started with the Lobster Bisque and Lobster Newburg. They were both fantastic. The Lobster Bisque was the best I've ever had! I ordered the Beef Wellington for the main and it was perfect. The steak was cooked medium rare and it was a juicy cut of meat. The pastry was perfectly crispy and buttery. The mushrooms and pate beneath the steak were delicious and paired perfectly with the other flavors. For a side we got the scalloped potato which was a huge portion ... enough for 2-4 people. It was ok but I'm not a huge scalloped potato fan. The Brussel sprouts however were fantastic. They had these thick bacon lardons mixed in and the Dijon sauce was delicious! We were too full for dessert but took some home and wow they were both fantastic desserts!
google avatar

Yelp
There's a reason this staple of Main Street has been around for so long...one of the best steak restaurants in Michigan!
google avatar

Hanine C.

Yelp
The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is impeccable, but the food was just okay. The crab stuffed shrimp was not hot and I did not enjoy the lobster bisque at all as it was ruined by the overpowering taste of sherry. The steak and sides were good but not worth the price in my opinion, even though I understand that it's prime steak. The best thing they do is their desserts! Candy bar bomb is heavenly.

Yelp
Best dinner I've ever had - hard to say any more. We went for our anniversary and it was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We got calamari as an appetizer and it was literally perfection - not chewy at all like many other places. We joked we could've just had 2 orders of it for dinner it was so good. New York Strip Steak was also cooked to perfection. I got mine medium well and my boyfriend got medium and they tasted similar. Best steak ever. The crab gnocchi was honestly a highlight of the night for me. It was SO buttery and creamy. It is definitely indulgent. The only thing we probably would've passed on was the brussel sprouts. The sauce was good but the brussel sprouts were a little under-cooked. Still good, just wasn't really worth it as a side. Finally, I wish the S'mores Creme Brûlée had more sugar on top, but the actual Creme part was VERY good. A perfect ending to a perfect meal.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Our server Lisa was so kind, knowledgeable, and professional. The presentation of the food and the way they serve it to you is so well done. And the food is so delicious. The Brussel sprouts were to die for. I highly recommend sitting in the quiet room to the side of you can, it's a really nice experience.

Yelp
Been coming for years where did my review go...usually on the Dolce side so maybe that's why I thought I had made one. Where to begin. This is an iconic restaurant in Ann Arbor. Over priced? Yes absolutely. Worth it... That's up to you. I've had better for less. However; they had outside seating and we aren't dining inside these days. I came for my birthday and we got a table outside. We both had steak. I had the Surf and Turf and my husband had the Pork Chops. Both were great. Why do they marinate the Lobster tails with saffron? Not everyone wants their lobster to have that flavor or the texture that comes from marinating or soaking they called it. I also think the presentation of both dishes needed work. At this price point that should also be on par. It's funny that each person only gets one tiny popover ! Service was much slower than usual but these days that's just expected. We really miss the ambiance inside and all the servers/bartenders we use to know so well.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopping at Chop before a Laith Al Saddi concert at the Ark. Slipping into the bar for a bowl of wonderment. The French onion soup has been made by the same guy over many years. Roasting the bones and onions to a caramelized stew of richness. It was early dinner and I was well attended to by Luke the bartender. He as been working for the restaurant group since he was 16. And like all the servers they seem to love working there. The old Fashion was a perfect compliment

Yelp
Delicious option for a night out. Everything was well presented and quality. It's nice that they are in the process of expanding and have history in the building. If able I would ask to sit in the side room which was previously a theater. This room seemed much more quiet and not as tightly packed as the main entry bar area. The basement level has a nice cigar lounge. Our waiter Noah was so friendly and well explained the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
This is not our first time here it had been 10 years though and even though time has past the service and quality of food has not. Lots of personal attention. Food always delicious and cooked. Very nice atmosphere for large and small parties.

Yelp
"The Chop House" wow what a great spot! Food is outstanding, servers are top shelf. From the appetizers to dessert be prepared to be impressed. Loved the street view table it was like we had the whole place to ourselves.

Fabulous fine dining in Ann Arbor. Great staff with great service. The entire menu is off the charts great. You can not go wrong here. Wonderfully prepared steaks.

Yelp
While the food was amazing; the same could be be said for the service. Rather than ask if we were also ready to order our entrees, our waiter just left after taking our appetizer order. Other than a brief pass-by inquiring about them, our waiter did not return until we had finished. He made a quirky inquiry if we were ready to order our next course. We were ready a long time ago. For a starter, we ordered the Lump Blue Crab & Lobster Cakes. The two cakes were the right amount for two. Within the crab cake. I clearly saw a few pieces of lobster. To make sure there was definite room for dessert, in addition to the individual entrees, we decided on one side dish... Roasted Broccoli. I enjoyed the crispy edges as much as the miso butter. For the entree, I ordered the Beef Wellington. Since I usually order steak medium-rare, I had no concerns when the waiter warned that is how the entree is cooked. For dessert. I definitely enjoyed the very appropriately named Chocolate Decadence. The blackberry sorbet contrasted well with the brownie and dark chocolate mousse. On a minor note, we were seated in the enclosed room in the basement. We immediately noticed the strong odor of cigar smoke from the next room. By the time we started eating, we had forgotten about the smell.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service and ambiance. It's expensive but for a special occasion or an occasional treat it's a great night out. The seafood is fresh, the beef excellent and the deserts were decadent. It had become our favorite Ann Arbor restaurant.

Yelp
Impeccable. The price is definitely worth it if you want to make a great impression. The staff seamlessly stay a step ahead, time everything perfectly, and make you feel very welcome. The personality of waiters somehow vibe with any groups I go with. One time I was with friends before a party, and the waiter was so playful with telling us the specials. Another time I was with coworkers and the guy was so chill and comforting like a young Steve from Blues Clues. You have to try the crème brûlée. And keep going back to try all the drinks and steaks. Each steak is prepared perfectly according to its composition.

Yelp
I had a very delicious dinner for my Birthday. It was every bit as good as I had been told. Almost on a level of perfection. The service was excellent. I was treated with a great amount consideration, the kind that you only experience in other countries or very large cosmopolitan cities. Usually, when dining at an upscale establishment, the atmosphere is stuffy and intimidating. However, this restaurant has the perfect balance of modern sophistication and classic romance. Very Semi-Formal and Very Classy.

Yelp
We went for Mother's Day, and unfortunately very disappointed. Valet parking was not available, and while our waitress/waiters were wonderful, the service was very slow; and at 4:00 there were not many customers. Steak Wellington was sub-par, oysters excellent and pop overs were delicious. Chocolate martini very bland, as well as Maker's Mark cocktail. Most likely will not return. Price was not worth the money. Ambiance is nice. hofcet-4zokxo-tuXvab

Yelp
We popped in without a reservation on a Saturday night and the hostess sat us at a high top right away - next time I might request a booth instead. We ordered calamari, lamb chop pops for apps, and the beef Wellington and scallops. We could have done without the sides (mashed potatoes and mushrooms) because the portions were so big. So good - will be back!!

Yelp
Excellent food and very nice atmosphere. Service was impeccable. A bit pricey but excellent for a nice night. Enjoyed the cigar bar downstairs to top off the night. Great people in the cigar bar

Yelp
The service is outstanding! The food excellent and best steak I have had in years. Loved it. This ranks amongst the very best in NYC or Chicago in my opinion.

Yelp
Here again for my daughters move in and timing was perfect for my wife's for a Bday discount, what a deal date night with all these ladies. Was a perfect evening for dining outside and Main St was shutdown for a really nice outdoor experience. First time having dinner here and will most certainly be back. 1/2 dozen oysters: 4 stars, fresh and Meath but a little lacking in character Chopped salad: 4 stars a tad too much dressing but really good blue cheese, get the dressing on the side Kobe Beef and seared scallops: scallops were well done, Kobe beef on the fence of it was worth the value 4.5 stars Fillet mignon: solid steak 4.5 stars, they were a tad done to the rare side. Salmon: 5 stars and perfectly done Seared Scallops were five stars Dessert round 2: banana foster and tiramisu 4.5 stars Service was above awesome and attentive

Yelp
Had a superb experience this past Saturday night 8/19/23. Porterhouse and NY Strip were spectacular! Special shout out to chef Adam for taking the time to visit at our table to make sure everything was perfect. It was!

Yelp
A solid 4. Not the best steakhouse I have ever been to but it serves its purpose. We have had a couple of good steaks here. I have the setting be described as "stuffy" but I think it's fine. Service was nothing special. Our last time there our server was not super attentive but it's whatever. The beef Wellington was a let down, but steaks, sides and desserts on point.

Yelp
We spent this last weekend in AnnArbor for our daughter's college graduation. We have celebrated so many significant life moments at the Chop House in Grand Rapids, that choosing the Chop House in AnnArbor for our keystone celebration night at the end of graduation week with family and friends, was really a no brainer. And Chop House AnnArbor did not fail us!!! We were a party of 8, and we ordered it allllllllll. We started with a champagne toast, followed by cocktails, followed by appetizers, followed by more cocktails and wine orders ;D, then salads, entrees, and desserts - and the restaurant never stumbled. All 8 of us ordered different entrees, all 8 entrees arrived perfectly cooked. Three different steaks hit the table, ordered at three different preferences: a rare, a medium rare, and a medium - each one arrived to the table, at the same time perfectly cooked to each preference, that's unbelievably difficult but they did it. Service wasn't only excellent, but genuinely friendly - shout out to Andrew who commiserated with me that they no longer serve Adelsheim Pinot Noirs, and who picked out a nice Erath to cheer me up (HA!) Really just a fun night, thank you guys!!!!!!!!

Yelp
It has been a long time since we have been to the chop house- probably about 6 years and retuned finally last night for a long anticipated evening out. Unfortunately they either had an off night or the quality has gone down. The salad was very good and French fries were fantastic. Unfortunately they didn't ever notice we were out of ketchup, the steak didn't have any seasoning on it or a good sear on the outside. The Brussels sprouts felt boiled and soupy and didn't have even a bit of the pan seared feel they should. We likely won't return.
