"This Bird Road spot could be the set for any movie scene happening in a diner. Walk in on a weekday and listen to a sheriff tell cops and robbers stories to regulars who eat here twice a day. Each person you pass shoots you, “Good mornin’,” with a head nod until you reach your plump booth. There are loads to choose from on this spiral menu. But there’s nothing like a grand slam—not to be confused with the Denny’s variety. No, Chuck Wagon’s grand slam comes with your choice of bacon or sausage (go for the sausage), eggs your way, home fries or grits, and biscuits covered in sausage gravy you can cut with a fork. It’s the perfect place for a quiet breakfast or to nurse a hangover on a weekend while watching an 89-year-old man get cut off from his third cup of coffee by a concerned server. " - Virginia Otazo

"Three Southwest Miami locations provide diners with stick-to-your-ribs breakfasts with a Southern bent, such as biscuits and gravy and country-fried steak and eggs.  Diners can also skip the eggs and order a country-fried steak with vegetables and cornbread from its lunch menu, which also includes a selection of sandwiches and burgers." - Eater Staff

So let me start off by saying I’m 45yrs old and I have never even thought about stopping at this place that was until my wife told me that place is amazing. I thought for sure she was off her rocker since then I’ve been here about 20 time lol sometimes I even grab breakfast to go it’s that great Mike and his son are the owners and operators with the most amazing staff I encourage you if you’re Not trying to drive an hour and a half down South to overpay for American style Breakfast and just want A simple bacon eggs, pancakes, waffle, grits, biscuits and gravy. This is your spot.

Google
Man, what a find! I was driving around after a brutal early morning of Amazon deliveries (you know how it is!), and I was seriously craving some good grits. I actually Googled "grits near me," which is how I stumbled upon this place. I'd seen a review that mentioned "classic diner vibes," and that totally sold me. Walking in, it was like stepping into a different world although it's a bit dated, everyone was so friendly – not just the staff, but the other customers too! I got a bunch of "good mornings" from complete strangers, which was honestly so refreshing. It felt like a real community, a family kind of atmosphere. My server was a total sweetheart. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and was super helpful in guiding me to the perfect breakfast. I ordered the Chuckwagon with eggs over medium, pan sausage, home fries and a side of cheese grits. My server even pointed out a way I could save a few bucks, which I really appreciated. It's awesome when servers are that considerate. The food came out fast and was exactly what I was hoping for – hot, fresh, and cooked perfectly. I got over-medium eggs and grits, and when I poured the grits over my eggs, my server gave me a knowing look and said, "Now that's how you do it – the classic Southern way!" That just made my day. It brought back all these memories of having breakfast with my grandparents – those classic diner breakfasts that just feel like home. It was a real nostalgia trip. Seriously, the whole experience was just what I needed – good food, good people, and a great atmosphere. It just felt… good. I did notice the prices were a little higher than what I saw in some older menu pics online, but honestly, with everything going on these days, it's not surprising. Even with the slightly higher prices, I absolutely loved this place. I'm definitely going back soon. It's the perfect spot for a comforting, classic breakfast that just hits the spot.

First time here. We visited during the weekend and place was full so we had to wait just a bit for our table. Our waitress was friendly and attentive but our food took forever to arrive and even though it tasted good there was nothing remarkable to point out about it. Now, what really bothered me was the condition of the ladies’ bathroom. It was dirty and so outdated that the tiles were literally falling apart. They need to do some remodeling as soon as possible and include a baby changing table as well.

I had a BLT and fries: looked appealing and tasted good. Reminds me of going back to a midwest family home. The decor is a mix of western, sports, Indian and vintage and it’s not overwhelming, just here and there. Low key early 2000’s music played overhead. It’s like walking into a working class family place, there’s a comfort here. What is impressive and was pleasantly surprising is the staff. They are bilingual and very friendly, very attentive to exactly what you want. The atmosphere is low key, with little to no noise and the customers ages I saw were middle-aged and above. The menu is simple, but offers enough of a variety for a bite to eat. The building has been around, but it is clean and comfortable. It is rectangular inside with seating along the walls and windows. A very pleasant experience for lunch.

Google
Great little spot to relax and enjoy some homestyle cooking. Our waitress was amazing and recommended the meatloaf which was amazing. Very personable and friendly service. I would recommend to anyone and if we are ever back in town we will be returning.

Google
First time Chuck wagon. Cafe con leche was the best I've had. Our waitress Barbara was very attentive, laid back and friendly. Chocolate chip pancakes were delicious along with my over easy fried eggs and sausage links and delicious grits.. Definitely recommend and I hope to be coming back soon. 🤌🏻👍🏻🥞🧈🍳🙌🏻

Google
what a find with this restaurant. We were starting to head out for the Keys for the day and were hungry for breakfast. Google Maps showed this location nearby so we stopped. This is the type of restaurant I like, Home grown, great atmosphere and Barbara, our waitress was the highlight of the day. Such a friendly person, all the bantering going on, we loved her, and the food, other than a little bit expensive, I thought, was wonderful. Just a normal breakfast, fired eggs, bacon, sausage links etc and a biscuit, but it hit the spot.

Google
Come here for breakfast on a regular basis, and patronizing this establishment is an absolute pleasure! The food's great (and is at my table in a jiffy), the restaurant atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff always have a cheerful disposition.

Yelp
Haven't eaten here in a while, the quality of the food is still good. Parking can be difficult at busy times. They are closed on Mondays. What is concerning is that the food portions are considerably smaller, doesn't even fill the plate it's served on. Hash browns, grits, ham steak, and even the pancakes are much smaller than they used to be. I'm having trouble understanding how a side of grits at an 8oz. Serving can be billed at $3.99 We are talking about grits, made of corn...Can buy an entire box for $2.00 at any grocery store in town. Settling my nerves was that the waitress was extremely polite and attentive.

Yelp
Had some time to kill and I needed lunch. On Bird Road did not want fast food or a chain. Stopped in at the Chuck Wagon since on a Saturday at 12:30 there was just one parking space open. The place was slammed. Menu and looked good and the prices seemed reasonable. I ordered breakfast and it was incredible. Large serving, eggs cooked just right and potatoes were delicious. Staff were great and professional. Can't wait to go back and try lunch. All in all a great place to go to again

Natty G.

Yelp
This place is for a good ol home country breakfast. No frills, no fuss & nice staff. I got Scrambled eggs with sourdough toast, grits & turkey sausage. The grits were just ok. The grits were more crunchy than I'm used to but overall service and food good. Will come again.

Yelp
Terrible food and hideous decor! Total wasted opportunity. Biscuits were so bad we had to return them - WOW!

Joseph T.

Yelp
I just found this place. My buddy Joey O took me there for a biscuit breakfast. Amazing food. Sunny side eggs, bacon, grits and a biscuit with gravy. Very awesome. I walked in and was greeted by all the employees and even the customers gave me a good morning. Super friendly establishment. The place feels like an old school good ol fashioned American breakfast and lunch joint. I love the chuck wagon decor. I now go every week.

Raquel P.

Yelp
Lovely old school breakfast with friendly awesome service in close proximity to home. Everyone is so friendly and polite. Love coming here and relaxing while eating. Great place !

Jon A.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and the ambiance you'd expect from a good breakfast diner. Very family friendly. Crowded but not too loud and we didn't have to wait too long for a table.

Cristina O.

Yelp
When you're looking for classic, stick to your ribs type breakfast, Chuck Wagon is the way to go! Although this location has been opened for less than 20 years, it feels like much longer. The type of place that never changes & "everybody knows your name & they're always glad you came". Stoped by recently for breakfast w my dad (it's one of his favourite spots) & we were VERY satisfied. I chose the Veggie Omelet w Home Fries & it was SO GOOD. Did a single Blueberry + Pecan Pancake on the side & my life was complete! My dad did the Biscuits + Gravy & loved it. Our waitress was sooooo lovely, kind & attentive & the whole homey, old school vibe was just perfect. Love this spot!

Yelp
My favorite locally Family Owned Breakfast Spot on Bird Road !! Today I had a early breakfast before starting my day . And boy .. they never disappoint !! My go to order is always the Meatlovers omelette with grits and Rye bread !!

Sofia G.

Yelp
This place deserves more than 5 stars. The staff are incredible: personable, welcoming, and humorous! They were super attentive and refilled our coffee quickly when it was running low. The food came out fast, was delish, and great price... wow... We ordered the tuna sandwich which as you can see was super generous and it came with choice of side - we got potato salad which was incredible and flavorful! Just perfect. We also ordered the chuck wagon grand slam...yum! Potatoes were fresh and delish, sausage and eggs were good too. I've had better biscuits and gravy but combined with the rest of the plate the whole dish was really tasty. We are blown away. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but it's amazing! Don't judge a book by its cover. We will definitely be back! And we will bring our friends and family too :)

Aisha C.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. Perfect place for some wholesome, home style breakfast. If you ever need to not feel lonely come here. The staff is super welcoming, and does not constantly shower you with "do you need anything??", which makes breakfast here extra peaceful. The only thing is you have to get here before they close around 2:30 pm; oh how I wish they were opened past that time I got the tuna melt, and let me just say hands down the best melt I've tasted so far in south Florida. And I've only had a few so don't take that so seriously... but the tuna melt here is so delicious. Order it. It came with fries- I devoured those, and potato salad (or coleslaw). My boyfriend got the Apple cinnamon pancakes, he loved them! Overall this is a 5/5, you get what you come for at this location, nothing more nothing less. I would recommend.

Priscilla C.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing! Everyone is so nice and the food is delicious. Love seeing Rosie when we visit. She is the sweetest and best waitress I've ever had. Always has a smile on her face. My family and I drive down south almost an hour every weekend for their delicious breakfast!

Susie S.

Yelp
I went on a Tuesday of last week at around 12 and they were closed. I was ready to try them after a very long time and I got stopped in my tracks. I feel that's not a good day to close. Hope they revisit their schedules. I feel it's bad business practice Hope they management changes.

Raul P.

Yelp
I ordered breakfast to go and they totally screwed it up. I got the chuck wagon special with grilled onions and bacon crumpled on top. I went to the A.D.Barnes park nearby to sit at a picnic table and enjoy my breakfast. I open the bag and there was no fork! I had to bum off a fork from a family that was having a picnic. Then I open the box and find raw onion instead of sauteed. To top it off they charged me $3 for a side of bacon that was no more than 2 strips crumpled on top the meal.

Sofia R.

Yelp
My server today was so kind and nice. The service is impeccable here. I literally love this place. Everything we had was great!!! Totally recommend any and all of their omelets. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER THEIR CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. looks like it was made at McDonalds or something

Javier G.

Yelp
Typical diner menu and old school feel. Place is solid. Great staff. One of the only real diners i know where you can get a real cafe con leche and traditional American fare. The menu could be larger, and some of the items don't knock it out of the park but overall always delivers. What makes this waste more special is the staff that's been there forever. It is a come as you are spot with no pretentious attitude, and just friendly smiles. Extra nice to the kids. The place is always clean

Glenn Z.

Yelp
Food is very bland like retirement home or hospital food. Overall not very good at all.

Joseph S.

Yelp
Been here a few times, great for breakfast if your in a rush! In and out in 30 mins with tasty American favorites. Great customer service somewhat unusual these days always good to see. I read a review where it mentions to be careful how you park to make sure you don't have to back out into bird road. There is plenty of good parking just think about how you will depart before you park. Possibly back in to a spot or park on the side of the restaurant where you don't have to worry about the bird road traffic.

Jill M.

Yelp
Stoped in for lunch and tried one their soup and sandwich specials for $9.99. You get your choice of several different sandwiches like egg salad, tuna, grilled cheese, ham and cheese, etc. and a cup of soup. For an extra buck, you can upgrade to a bowl. I had ham and cheese and it was ok. Like mom used to make, with two slices of thinly sliced ham and American cheese. Just ok. Soup was lentil and was rather bland. I've been here for breakfast and I had a much better experience. It's OK. I'll be back.

John C.

Yelp
Came in for breakfast and it was all right. Can't complain about the food I love their turkey club it's pretty much what I always order. The French toast is nothing to brag about but my girlfriend wanted to try it and the corn beef hash was absolutely delicious. They don't have fresh Orange juice any more I think it's just regular Tropicana which was a disappointment. The service was all right I mean it's usually hitter miss. Some servers are very happy and friendly and others just seem miserable but they're friendly lol it's a weird vibe. Also it'd be nice if that the core would be updated it's pretty stingy in there.

Scarlet R.

Yelp
This place:)) so far this is our quick breakfast on a day we have errands. It's always good. This time we got the eggs Benedict which where cooked to perfection soft and creamy. The chicken was so crunchy and juicy, definitely getting it again. If you haven't be there definitely need to go. And thank me latter.

K C.

Yelp
Was in area so found this place based on search. There is big sign outside saying pancakes and French toast. So we got the French toast which the waitress waited by. It was not good. Tasted like white bread. Have had better at every where else. Service was good and atmosphere is eh at best. Don't see a return in future.

Matthew S.

Yelp
Super cool restaurant where you would never expect it. Friendly service with a very cool vibe. I was impressed with the food. Be sure to try their cornbread. It's pipping hot and mouth watering.

Nancy A.

Yelp
I'm pretty sure this is one of those places that doesn't read their yelp reviews. They believe "if something ain't broke, don't fix it" I got here on a Sunday about 11:30, the parking was full, they don't have a counter so I had to sit by myself in a huge booth. I could barely understand anything my waitress said, I just hope she understood my order. I tried the corn beef hash, the biscuit and gravy and the chocolate chip pancakes. The only thing worth mentioning was the pancake.

Jessica P.

Yelp
Good place for an old southern breakfast. The biscuits and gravy were delicious! I ordered the eggs Benedict but they were nothing to really brag about. The hollandaise sauce didn't seem very fresh. I had a side of grits with cheese that were okay but I probably wouldn't order it again. My hubby ordered the eggs with a smoked sausage. The eggs were cooked perfectly but he ended up leaving the sausage after taking one bite because it was way too salty. The service was mediocre. Our waitress didn't seem very happy to be working that day. I'd probably go back to get an order of the biscuits and gravy and try the pancakes.

Anthony H.

Yelp
I have been to a number of Chuck Wagons, this one has HORRIBLE parking and I bring it up because it is just dangerous. Parking is offered on bird road which is either filled with congestive traffic or Miami traffic speeding at 45-50 mph, in order to park at the restaurant you have to slowly pull in and park in tight parking spots, this becomes a challenge when traffic doesn't either pay attention to you or there isn't enough space. To get out of the parking spot is another mission especially if you parked head in, backing up onto bird road is 2 two person task because if you are backing into bird and can't see on coming traffic it's recipe for a deadly disaster. This alone deters me from coming here as you can see all this happening time and time again while eating inside the restaurant . The food is good no complaints, however the staff is not as friendly as the Chuck Wagon on 117th ave. My recommendation is find another place to have breakfast if possible, and to Chuck Wagon I'd recommend finding a way to protect your customers from the horrors of parking or relocating to a safer area.

Joanne L.

Yelp
Okay so right when I walk in I think am not in Miami anymore , it's like I just went through a time warp and I am in NC or some place up state and I totally love it!! A cute traditional diner in Miami is a bit of a rare thing . The service was awesome super friendly and great . I had the grand slam breakfast it was super yummy. I loved the biscuits with gravy tasted fresh and the gravy was super rich. The fried eggs I mean their fried eggs if you mess that up then Houston we have a problem! Lol! The bacon wow they were cooked to my perfection. The home potatoes so soft and yummy and tasty and seasoning like that can't get any better. The pancakes they were fluffy and fresh perfectly shaped , I really didn't enjoy them much though but that wasn't on the cook it was on me I got them plain should have put some extra something on it . The coffee was good I would rather a latte but being that it is a old traditional diner I didn't expect any lattes but I like it stick to your traditional ways chuck wagon!! Thumbs up to you guys !! Must give it 4 untouched by this hipster world stars !!

Yelp
Had a late breakfast at Chuck Wagon Restaurant on Saturday afternoon. Shared the Biscuits & Gravy, French Toast Slam with Sausage, and a side of Corned Beef Hash. Quality When visiting a no frills diner my expectation is that my meal probably will not look pretty, but the taste can make up for it. Unfortunately that was not my experience with Chuck Wagon, as the food tasted too much like it looked. The Biscuits & Gravy was probably the item I was most excited for, but I would not want to order it again. The gravy was pretty bland and not nearly as hot as it should have been. I also did not really like the biscuits that were buried underneath that were too hard. For something as heavy as gravy, it just did not leave me satisfied like it should have. The French Toast Slam came with two eggs, three pieces of linked sausage, and four half slices of french toast. I definitely prefer a thick slice of french toast, so I was very disappointed to see pieces smaller than a slice of bread. They just did not soak up the butter and syrup as they should have. The eggs were fine, but I also did not think the sausages were of a quality where they should be served. The Corned Beef Hash was fine, far from great, but the best item we ordered. Quantity In terms of size the only thing that failed to live up to expectation were the slices of french toast. However, even though they were small, the other items in the slam still left you with more than enough to eat. Value Price is not something that you are going to have an issue with at Chuck Wagon. Everything is very cheap, as you would expect for breakfast at a diner. Ambiance Chuck Wagon is a western themed diner located off Bird Road near Tropical Park. It is directly off the road and the restaurant is pretty large. The diner definitely shows its age from its ratty table clothes to its run down cups, but they embrace it. it is the kind of place that believes they have been doing it right for years and they would never change. And this may be true as the crowd seemed fiercely loyal. The decor of the place seemed to be a mix of western themed objects and old Miami sports memorabilia. The menu is brightly colored with different food pictures spread throughout. They did not have music on in the background while we were there, but it feels like a place where a classic rock radio station should be on. Crowd There were a good number of people at the restaurant and every single person seemed to be a regular. Before leaving many of the patrons walked over to the kitchen area to say goodbye to the staff in the back. The crowd was a lot of older individuals and it seems like people who have been eating at Chuck Wagon for years and have come to love everything on the menu. Service The staff is very chatty, which means friendly folks, but it also means that things move a bit slower. This is not a real problem though for a late breakfast on the weekend. Parking Chuck Wagon is located right on Bird Road and the parking spaces in front of the restaurant are directly off the road. Getting into the spots are pretty easy, but backing out and onto the busy road is nerve-wracking. Extra When it comes to places like Chuck Wagon, where little care seems placed on the aesthetic, it falls to the food to win over the crowd. And maybe the food is exactly what the loyal base loves, but nothing I ate impressed me. I love a good old-fashioned diner, but the food needs to be special and that was not the case with Chuck Wagon.

Aniarka D.

Yelp
Rosie is an awesome waitress she has a lot of charm and very attentive. The staff is very nice and welcoming to the diner. I had a 2 eggs (white) and 3 croquetas. Thank you for helping me start my Sunday on the right foot!

Heather S.

Yelp
Having found myself completely abandoned, there was really only one thing for me to do. You guessed it, I crawled out of bed and headed on down the road in search of some breakfast! I was in search of some pancakes, why pancakes specifically? I don't know, but I really wanted them when my little peepers popped open waaayyyy too early in the morning at 5:50am on a Sunday. So, after debating with myself for two hours and failing to acquire another breakfast going fiend, this little lassie moseyed out anyway to satisfy her craving of those fluffy circular cakes. This place definitely has a diner vibe to it, booths with checkered table clothes, what seemed like regular patrons sipping their morning coffee while reading the paper and some interesting wall pictures that strangely never seemed to have made it out of their protective packaging. Not a flaw by a long shot, but it certainly made me ponder about it for waaaayy too long then I needed to. Getting there at 9, it wasn't too full and I was soon seated, that much closer to getting those pancakes! What I didn't care for though once I was seated, was that several waitress's seemed surprised that I was eating by myself and kept feeling the need to ask me. Maybe that's not a regular thing or something - I am a bit clueless when it comes to most things anyway so perhaps that was the case. :/ Either way, thanks for reminding me, I was a bit oblivious to it on the actual drive over. Makes me wonder just who it was I was talking too.... huh... Letting the interrogation go, I flipped through the menu and there I found those glorious pancakes. And better yet, they had blueberry pancakes!!! Can you say yummy?! Mmmmmm..... Blueberry!!! =D That's where interesting conversation #2 came in. I ordered my pancakes, some corn beef hash and at first I wanted a muffin but there were no more muffins cause the muffin thief stole them all so I settled for an english muffin! For whatever reason, I was subtly trying to be talked out of getting pancakes. With every item that I asked for, it came with a surprised expression followed by, "How about eggs? Maybe you want...."...."No, I don't want eggs.".... That came with a subtle sigh followed by a tiny shake of the head with a, "I'm trying to make this easy." Not sure what that was supposed to mean exactly, but my order really wasn't that complicated. Be careful asking for two pancakes though, that'll get you another surprised look. Sorry, but yes, it may not seem so, but I am a fat a** and I do like to eat. When my food finally arrived, it was about what I expected. The pancakes were indeed good-very blueberryish- the english muffin could have been toasted a bit more but still had somewhat of a crunch to it and the corn beef hash was corn beef hashy. At least everything was still warm when it got to the table and that's a huge plus in and of itself. A decent breakfast for a few buckaroos that was budget friendly. Their parking lot is not too big, a few spaces right in front and a smaller lot just a few feet west but it doesn't seem like parking would be a big issue here. I had no problem slipping into a spot and the lot was still pretty empty when I was leaving.

Emily H.

Yelp
I have only been here for breakfast and I love their corned beef hash. Their waffles are also great. The service is great. Coffee Could use some help but other than that great place to eat breakfast

Alexa C.

Yelp
No frills, whatsoever. I was surprised to see there was no espresso being served here with the largely Hispanic demographics that inhabit the nearby area. It's resembles something that belongs in the Keys or Central Florida with its mostly American menu. The food tasted alright but there was so pizzaz to it. Often times, we have this idea of this hearty breakfast and I can't say I was thrilled at the appearance or the quality of the food. The parking is tricky due to the weird corner they are located on. If you're in the mood for some southern diner food and don't rely on espresso, this might be your spot. The corned Hash is good but the consistency could use some improvement.

Frank E.

Yelp
This is a fun little place. Drove by it numerous times before I ventured in. The placed was packed when I went in. The service was very friendly. The coffee cup stayed full. Always a good sign of the service. The food was good, diner fare. I ordered the skillet plate. It came with home fries on the bottom, lots of shredded cheddar in the middle and two scrambled eggs on top. Got 2 slices of rye bread on the side. It was all very tasty. Nothing fancy or high falutin. Just good grub. Will be back.

Cassandra N.

Yelp
Very cute diner, family friendly, the food was great and filling. We came on a Sunday at 12pm and there was no wait - awesome . The only complaint would be the service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait.

Franchesca M.

Yelp
they need make this place look a tad bit more clean. Food is actually really good!!!! Everything around is just really old and kinda nasty looking.

Jorge B.

Yelp
Horrible Experience. I do not recomend this place. My first time in this restaurant, I went to eat breakfast for Valentine's Day. I was waiting to take good experience in a restaurant, a friend recommended. Once waiter approached to me, she was hurry talking to me, she brought the coffee and I asked her to help me and pick my best breakfast option. She said , if you are taking an order and is going to take more than ten minutes, the menu is in your hand, and I do not have time to talk to you..WTF. She was disgusting, I was very upset immediately I answered, I am not going to eat breakfast in this place , do not order for me anything. I had Horrible experience. Please manager, teach your waiter to respect your customers.

Ivelys L.

Yelp
Delicious mom & pop diner in westchester. This place is incredible if you're looking for a good breakfast spot. Their corned beef hash and biscuits with white gravy are incredible! They have breakfast sandwiches and personalized omelettes that are to die for as well. I have been coming here for years and probably will continue to forever. Very cozy feeling and the prices are reasonable!

Yelp
4/5: Walking into Chuck Wagon, it was a complete change of scenery. It is an old western themed diner with various Miami décor around the restaurant. It felt like the adaptation of old America with a contemporary metropolitan city like Miami. We were greeted with friendly waitresses that seated us. It was somewhat busy, but you can definitely feel the diner vibe from the way everyone interacted with each other. Parking can be a bit tricky, because it is located in an unusual location. Please be careful! I ordered the French Toast Slam and my friend ordered the Chuck Wagon Grand Slam to share the different items on the menu. I had my eggs over easy with bacon. The eggs was well done from the slightly rubbery texture of the egg white to the runny egg yolk. It reminded me of a sauce that is so decadent that you want to pick up some bread to sop up it all up. The bacon was good, but not great. I prefer my bacon super crispy, and this one was half crispy and half chewy (which some people like). Although the doneness was not what I wanted, the smokiness and salt came through to provide the umami and depth to solidify your morning cravings. Tip: order the home fries with onions all together. The combo of well-done home fries and raw onions reflected the interplay between starchy, crispy potatoes with the acidity and crunch of the onions to provide a balance to the dish. It is definitely worth trying considering the little pieces of onions also provides a pleasant acidic touch to cut through the heavy breakfast and provide your palate a break. We also had the biscuits and gravy, the classic. The gravy's consistency was thick, but coated the biscuit just enough to not slide off. The biscuit was an effective vehicle for not only the gravy, but the runny eggs and piled high with the onions/home fries combo. My complaints were that the French toast was underwhelming for me. It appeared small compared to what I have seen on yelp, but it tasted just like any other French toast paired with a syrup that reminded me of Aunt Jemima's. Our other friend ordered two different pancakes, pecan and blueberry. The fillings were in the middle of the pancake, and it was difficulty maintaining the equal proportions for each bite, making it hard to enjoy the pancakes.

Yelp
My family and I love Chuck Wagon! We eat there at least twice a week. Everything is always delicious and all of the servers and staff are beyond delightful, especially Barbara.

Yelp
This is an old school Miami establishment opened since 1979. All my friends come for the delicious breakfast. Have the biscuits and gravy, the pancakes, or the eggs with potatoes and onions. Awesomeness!!

Yelp
Ducked in to meet local PR legends David and Chris Pearson and have a bite and it was a fine time, here's why: * Never been here and its been here since the 70's * Greasy spoon type of comfort food * Stuck in time * Good value * Shrine to the Miami Dolphins-decor Rosey was our server and she made the visit extra special. Meow. I enjoyed Pork Chops and eggs and it was fabulous for under $9. Well salted, though. #Nom Cabeza OUT!

Yelp
Are you kidding me? 4 star average?! To be honest, this may be an adventure in fine dining for some reviewers, but this is the sort of place that gives greasy spoons a bad name. I'm giving 2 stars as a generous gesture. The place is sticky from the floors, to the table cloths, to the grimy bathroom doors. Goodness sakes, at least paint and clean the place. I appreciate a patina on antiques, but prefer my restaurants to have surfaces that can at least be cleaned. Me to server, "Is the corned beef hash canned or homemade?" server [rolling eyes] "canned, but nobody ever complains." I figured I'd let her continue to live in a dream world and do my complaining on here. Hormel or generic canned corned beef it was nasty. Eggs tasted a bit "off" biscuits were just ok as was gravy. I can't emphasize how low on the diner pecking order I would put this place. Service wasn't terrible. I'll never come back here though. $15.00 for 2 eggs, barely warm chunked potatoes, canned hashed Browns, coffee biscuits (out of a bag from somewhere) and gravy. Ugh!

Yelp
Great food, great service, great people. Chuck Wagon, located on Bird Road just after SW 72nd Ave in the Westchester/Glenvar Heights area of Miami, sets the standard for hearty, rib-sticking American diner food in Miami. Although the outside looks a bit dingy and dated, the food inside is phenomenal. The inside dining area could use an upgrade and the entire restaurant smelled like burned toast and burned eggs the entire duration of my visit, but other than that, the place was clean and well-organized. I went myself on a Monday morning around 9:00am and got a table right away. Within 2 minutes, my waitress was there taking my drink and food order. The waitress was very pleasant and sweet (kept calling me "darling"). Not only was she attentive, but she kept checking on me and making sure everything was delicious and up to par. From walking in the door to walking out, I was only there for 25 minutes; they serve you fast and get you moving on with your day. Definitely earned an A+ in the service department in my book. In terms of the food, the coffee was piping hot and fresh. I've never had diner coffee that wasn't at least somewhat burnt-tasting until Chuck Wagon. I ordered the Chuck Wagon Grand Slam which consists of 2 large eggs, biscuits and gravy, home fries, and bacon. I had my food within 15 minutes of sitting down. Everything was steaming hot that I almost burnt my mouth on the eggs, that's how fresh-off-the-grill they were. They give you large portions of everything. The bacon was a little overcooked, but bacon is bacon, right? Home fries were some of the best I've had south of Virginia and the biscuits and sausage gravy could challenge the best home cooking of the Deep South. And all of this food for only $7.95? It's a great bargain! Overall, the Chuck Wagon is a convenient and fast location for some hearty diner food before you jump on the Palmetto or head into the city. I am so full I don't think I'll need to eat lunch today. Will definitely return and highly recommend to others.

Yelp
Ok so let's be real we did walk in 13 minutes before they closed but like we ordered right away (because we knew what we wanted) we ate fast and even helped clean up the table with the waitress to make it all faster. Meanwhile the rudest waitress I've ever met in back of me standing there (like right there )saying "I could've been home by now" "why do people walk-in 15 minuets before we close" like excuse you I'm sorry your miserable and hate your job but that's no excuse to make paying customers hate your job too! The food was exquisite the waitress was super nice and so was the manager also everything was delicious but as soon as we left that miserable lady left too so I don't know what her dilemma was all I can say is she was super rude ,ghetto & low class

Yelp
One MAIN thing parking can be a real pain in the ass. However, if you get to find a spot go on and check this place out. It's a good American breakfast spot. Their portions are pretty big. You sometimes have the luck of the draw and get a super friendly waitress. Other times not so much. That's the only downside here. Luckily, at this visit I had a young girl who was very pleasant and gave great suggestions for my little one. She even had them make him a Mickey pancake.

Yelp
We have been going to both the Chuck Wagon on Bird Road and 117th and the food is great and the staff very friendly, know the Manager for years. They serve the best breakfast in town and freshly made. Keep it up Chuck Wagon!

Yelp
We just ordered breakfast towards the end of the mor ing shift, the food took forever to come out. People who came in after us were served before we did. Slow service was blamed on shortage of staff but yet they openly admitted that they thought we were served. Chuck Wagon use to be the place to come for a quick breakfast...dont know about that anymore. Btw, the kitchen looked fully staffed

Yelp
I had only been to Chuck Wagon once when I was very little and never really thought much about going again. After reading some reviews on Yelp and making a breakfast date with le boyfriend, we decided to give it another try. The minute we walked in we were immediately greeted and attended to. I ordered myself a coffee and my boyfriend ordered an iced tea - both coming out immediately. Our waitress came over soon after and asked if we were ready to order, which we weren't because everything sounded so good we couldn't make up our minds. We took a few more minutes and because my boyfriend and I are oh so original, we both ordered the Chuck Wagon Grand Slam - best decision I've EVER made. It comes with eggs (I got mine scrambled), bacon or sausage (bacon for me), grits or potatoes (potatoes, please) and biscuits with gravy. It was a hearty portion and everything was made exactly how I like it. The eggs were perfectly scrambled - not too runny, not too hard. The bacon was crisp but not burnt. Oh, and those potatoes. I will forever have pleasant dreams about them. I don't even know how to describe them, because I will never do their deliciousness any justice. All of this for less than $7. Our food took a normal amount of time to come out (I mean, neither my boyfriend or I thought much about it), but our waitress came over once or twice and was so apologetic about our food taking longer than expected because they got slammed with a big take out order. She was incredibly sweet and attentive about something that wasn't even that big of a deal. Now, THAT'S good service. After that meal I thought I was having a food baby, I swear. The atmosphere was very old school diner-esque. It felt like a rest stop more than an actual restaurant in Miami. I can't wait to go back - what an awesome way to start your day.

Yelp
Great food and awesome staff. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. The food was that country home style taste. Something new and refreshing from the typical ihop or Denny's. Defiantly try their biscuits with gravy!
