The Churchill - Review - Downtown - Phoenix - The Infatuation

"This open-air food court is about a 12-minute walk from the Phoenix Convention Center, so make a stop here after a day filled with networking, seminars, and conversations about the dry heat. It’s a courtyard surrounded by repurposed shipping containers out of which local vendors sell burgers, tacos, pizza, and drinks." - Joanna Boyle

My partner and I absolutely loved this place. So many great options to choose from drinks to healthy to a full meal. We are a bit obsessed and are looking forward to bring our friends. On our first visit there were a lot of all ages (including kids), such a welcoming and beautiful area. They even placed incense for the aroma which was unique. The staff is very friendly which was awesome.

Google
A very fun and chill atmosphere where you can grab pizza, burgers, beer, etc. and watch some sports on a real big screen. There were a ton of kids around, but it was very nice, not rowdy or anything like that. Exactly what you want from this sort of outdoor food hall. We had a burger and it was phenomenal- totally recommend.

Stopped by during the week because I wanted to check it out when it's not crowded. Parking is hit or miss, there are a few lots where you pay or you can drive around until you find a metered spot. I ordered the money shot bagel and an iced coffee. It was a little bit of a wait but not too bad. The bagel was very yummy and iced coffee was good. Next time I'll stop in for a burger.

Wonderful establishment with great aesthetics. Family and animal friendly exterior environment, surrounded by libations, eateries, and a few commercial specific shops. The DJ was setting the house vibe, while post-season football was on tubes. The service was very prompt and friendly. Great for big groups or a date night. The Churchill is a must-visit on Roosevelt row. The Scookie bar alone is a soft win. Support the locals while the locals support you. 💚

My boyfriend found this place on Instagram and he took me there on Saturday. we went around 1pm, found parking across the street ( you have to pay here its $20 to park for 3 hours) it's a gray building on the right. there's only 1 way in and out. once you get to the entrance, there's a mini mart on the left and dessert shop on the right. you walk a bit in, and it opens up to a large food court type of deal. I'm not sure if any one under 21 is allowed. I only saw adults. there's 2 full bars with very impressive drinks and cocktails. there's a bagel/ hamburger place that seemed to be super popular. a hawaiin eatery, tacos , pizza, and a smoothie place. in the middle section, there is lots of picnic tables, circular tables, and a corn hole game if you wanted to play. also there was a DJ on the opposite site( closer to the front entrance) I decided to get the hawaiin food( chicken katsu with sauce, white rice and macaroni. my boyfriend got the pizza. it took about 10 mins for my food to cook, but when I got it was hot and very packed. lots of chicken on a bed of white rice, and on side more white rice and the macaroni. the food was ok, despite the chicken having been fried, there was no flavor to it. the sauce gave it a little bit. I finished it because I was hungry. the pizza, according to the boyfriend said it was good and it didn't upset his stomach which is a win win. for dessert we got the smoothies. they were very fruity and thick.( pictured below along with the description of said drinks) the atmosphere was neat, chill, no one acted dumb so that was nice. I'd give it a 7/10.

We generally start first Friday here and grab some quick food from the vendors, ranging from burgers to teriyaki and rice for example. Get cocktails from the cocktail bars or beer then we go on to other venues in Phoenix great atmosphere.

I’m a native of Arizona and love to get around the neighborhood from where I live. My wife and I stumbled upon this place after watching some YouTube video about container buildings. We stopped here on an early Saturday morning around 10:30AM. One main bar, food shops and some stores and the music was already popping. We grabbed some beers from The Brill Line and a pizza from Freak Bros. and the rest was a blur. The beers were strong and fresh, the food was delicious and fresh. The architecture and the vibe of this place is truly amazing for the lot size. Lots of cool people and friends to be made. This place is dog friendly so there were lots of adorable dogs as well. Great for a first date, date with your wife or just to come alone to chill and relax. We will be coming back to drink again and bring are doggies to enjoy the fun we had.

Google
Great location to drink downtown. They have 2 big bar areas and other vendors selling items and food. The vendors close at different times but the Freak Brothers pizza stays open late. I like the bars because they offer good drinks and good service. My favorite drink is the Sandiaszn drink they have. Overall it’s a nice spot with a DJ, tons of seating, food options and chill vibes. It is outside so it can get hot in the summer but it’s not too bad in the evening or night. They do offer plenty of fans too. Pretty cool spot overall though parking can sometimes be annoying so highly recommend taking ride share.

Yelp
Let's check this place out!!! This will be an evolving revue as the evening progresses. Here for a large gathering of friends. Settled on this huge burger, and wow....best choice ever. The vibe is cool, outside patio styled venue. Definitely will return here again!! A+

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - What a cool find! My daughter wanted ice cream on this cold winter night... So we came here to visit Scookie; see my other Yelp review. 9k square feet with 10 businesses; see my pictures or their website. Atmosphere - Private event in of the place. So events are bookable. They also host pop ups, fundraisers, DJ, etc. Open 6 days a week from 10am to 10pm or 1:30am, closed Mondays. Metered street parking (until 11pm). We saw some parking lots, but we did not know what belonged to whom?!?! As it is very poorly lit and we could not see the signs. Service - Good, and also depends on what you buy, eat, or drink. Price - $9 + tip at Scookie. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018 and it brings such a cool vibe to Downtown Phoenix.

Yelp
Great place to gather and host events especially during the cool months. A classy and happening food court for grownups. They have two killer cocktail bars. I was delighted that they are happy to create delicious custom mocktails. To grab a drink and a bite before a concert downtown, my party and I enjoyed a hummus, veggie and pita platter from Freak Brothers Pizza. Super fun vibe!!!

Yelp
The Churchill is a trendy industrial building housing several eateries and bars. What a nice casual way to enjoy some food and beverage. It's located in downtown Phoenix. Street metered or lot parking.

Yelp
The Churchill is the place to be!! It is a great spot to get food great drinks and hear good music before going out or just to hang out and be casual. There are 2 bars and some lines to get your drink but the Mixologist I had Missy was worth the wait because she made some awesome drinks...even when I didn't like the drink I ordered Missy made me something new and it was Perfect! The Churchill is 3 in 1 under One Roof!! Cheers to FUN,FOOD & BOOZE

Yelp
Went here last weekend to watch football, have drinks, and got burgers and pizza. The drinks were phenomenal, the burger was great, mac & cheese balls were good, and pizza was great. It's such a cool vibe andwell-maintained. Cornhole is such a great addition to have in the middle of the place. Everyone was extremely kind. The bartenders were super talented and we were impressed with everything overall we'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Lilian K.

Yelp
I love the ambience I had a couple of cocktails and shots from different bars The service was amazing. They were very nice both of them. I will definitely be back. I love this place so much and it has everything you need. They have bars, food, smoothies, açai literally everything
google avatar

Julia G.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Phoenix with shops and great eats (I recommend InFruition)! Lots of seating to eat and socialize at and different games like cornhole to play. This is the type of vibe I was looking for in downtown that I didn't find, so I'm glad I made the trek to this part of town to see what Phoenix is all about!

Yelp
This place is a lot of fun. We stopped by for some drinks around 10:30pm and the music was greeeeeat. The DJ definitely knew how to get the vibes going! The bar area was pretty busy but the line moved fast. There are plenty of tables to sit at and plenty of food vendors that were still open. Definitely check this place out if you are wanting to get the night started right!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome spot to enjoy food, drinks and music in Phoenix. Really awesome concept where you can enjoy the outdoor weather at the same time be in a covered venue and have a great time with the DJ tearing up the turntables! Great spot while in Phoenix looking for a fun time

Yelp
My brother and sister in law brought us here while we were visiting them from Tucson and I was pleasantly surprised! We made the mistake of parking across the street (which was $30 - on a Sunday) never doing that again.. however, the burger my husband and I both had from Stoop Kid definitely made up for it! We both had the Stoop Burger and added a fried egg and it was so good! The egg was a little over cooked, but man the burger was juicy and has so much flavor. The bun was lightly toasted, yet so soft. I actually haven't stopped thinking about the burger since I had it. They have a killer cocktail bar (they actually had two but we only ordered from one of them on the opposite side of the entrance). Great drinks! I opted for the Old Fashioned, my husband for the Negroni. Both were excellent! Such a great little place if you are going with a group.. they have something for everyone.

Yelp
This place is great for a fun night out. Great big outside area with a ton of seating. Several really good bars inside along with some really good food options. Service is always great and many people working there helping to keep all areas clean. They got some of the best tacos and pizza in there. I like going around the holidays. Some of the bars make cute little speciality drinks. All that's missing are some outdoor games. But the music is great. Very chill spot. Great place to catch up with friends!

Chastity M.

Yelp
I ordered green tea shit, Was not served what I ordered, but a mix , he showed me a bottle of a mix that he said Jameson was in it. First off what's in that bottle and I've never been in a bar who does this
google avatar

Omari D.

Yelp
We needed a way to close out the night and the Churchhill lent itself to our group to be able to kick back & chill. We all had a couple of cocktails, some pizza on tap, and of course, the DJ was actually playing some music that had people thinking it was a club-like atmosphere. We tend to visit this place every other month or so with a specific crew and was the ideal way to close out the night. No line to come in made the decision easy as many of the other places near by were pretty packed.
google avatar

Robert W.

Yelp
The Bar line gets a little long once it gets busy but thats because its a fun place to pregame & grab a drink. They really put care, time & love into my Exspresso, Missy Really knows how to hook up a drink!
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
Can't spell Churchill without chill! Anyway, it was a good time. A few good places to grab a bite, a few more places to quench your thirst, some TV's and a couple games. Kid friendly and bring your well behaved fur babies. Had a delicious burger from the Stoop, watched some football and chilled in the misters in the afternoon sun. This is a pretty clean place considering a communal eating environment. We easily found a clean table for six. Last words... air conditioning in the men's bathroom.

M N.

Yelp
We recently held our team banquet at Churchill and the venue was ideal place for us. It accommodated our guest list in terms of space, comfort and event flow. Food was great and delicious!!! Jonathan and his team were amazing and made the evening so stress-free. We all enjoyed it and would definitely recommend Churchill to hold any gathering! Great place!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Fun place to go with a big group of friends, especially during the day. Enjoy an indoor, outdoor vibe with great bars and food selections. Conveniently located near other bars, makes it fun to walk around and enjoy the downtown area. Staff members were friendly and were constantly walking around cleaning tables.
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
I have been the Churchill a few times. I love the vibe and the courtyard style space, but you definitely need a game plan to get a spot then order your food and drinks. The lines for the drinks can get crazy to figure out where and what. It can get loud because of the open space and the dogs barking.
google avatar

Morgan B.

Yelp
I LOOOOOVE THE CHURCHILL. Probably my favorite spot downtown. The vibe is perfect, the food and drink options are great (could be more vegan friendly tho). And the service at the Brill Line is amazing. I love Michael & Alexis, they are the absolute best. I come here multiple times a week to work, they have outlets at the tables so it's perfect.
google avatar

Zach H.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere and plenty of options to choose from. Good beer selection or cocktails if you prefer. Stoop kid and freak brother's pizza are both good options for food. There is a third option that looked delicious, rice and meat sort of meal. Music can get a little loud. But, overall, a cool place. I would come back for sure.
google avatar

Lien S.

Yelp
Came here for the first time last Sunday to grab drinks for a friend's birthday and it was a chill spot! We started at The Brill Line. I got the Humming-Bird drink and it was delicious! It tasted sweet, fruity and floral. I would order that one again! My friends liked their old fashioned drinks and tequila soda. We also ordered a Margherita pizza from the pizza place across from Brill Line and that was pretty good as well! It also didn't take long for the food to come out at all. I've been told the Hawaiian food there is really good but haven't tried it yet. It's a cool day time hang out spot. I would recommend it if you're wanting a not so crazy place with a variety of bars/food to choose from
google avatar

Angel D.

Yelp
Plenty of tvs for sports tailgates. Loud environment. Lots of different food stalls and drinks to order from. If this isn't college town, idk what is. Service is quick and easy!
google avatar

Emma T.

Yelp
This place is super cute. There are four of five places to get food - I went for tacos. There was also a burger place and a pizza place that looked delicious. There were a couple other places but they didn't draw my attention as much. There are seats with heaters all over the place. It was a little chilly out but I sat right under the heater and I was okay. They do have some weird hours. They closed at 3 on a Thursday afternoon. Not all of the stores were open too - but it's definitely worth checking out!
google avatar

Miranda M.

Yelp
This place is so cool but usually pretty full on weekends. The food spots inside always hit the spot and it's nice that they have two bars. I haven't love the private events I've gone to there since it's kind of just a small roped off section but otherwise it's a fun spot we like to hit while in downtown. Especially when hungry
google avatar

Jose J.

Yelp
Great place to have a social hangout with friends! Pizza is good. It's nice to have different places to choose from all under one roof.
google avatar

Alma M.

Yelp
Loved the spot! It was definitely not crowded. The cocktails were delicious, the bartender really entertained us as he made the drinks. Mezcal and fig drink was different and to die for! We also got a delicious pizza. Enjoyed the visit! Would come back again!
google avatar

Sally S.

Yelp
Love this place. The cocktails at Brill Line were amazing and made with precision and care. Plenty of seating and a real friendly vibe. I would have been comfortable wearing joggers, jeans or a nice dress. Several dogs and kids with their parents. Love!!
google avatar

Melissa K.

Yelp
This was such a cool spot! I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I first walked in it reminded me of an elevated food court. In the center were a bunch of picnic tables surrounded by different types of restaurants. In the back was a bar to order drinks. There were staff coming around to pick up empty glasses, trash, etc. but no servers. I noticed there were Pizza, burgers and Mexican options. I was able to taste the carne asada fries from the Mexican food place and WOW!!!! Insanely delicious. Their queso is out of this world! Our drinks were strong (which I always appreciate), but they took WAY too long to get. The first time I went up to the bar, I was second in line and I waited over 20 minutes. My friends even came up to check on me because it was taking so long. The second time we went up there, it took almost a full hour. I came on First Friday, so it's possible they weren't expecting a large crowd, but two people behind the bar is not enough. Especially with the intricate drinks on their menu, those obviously take a little longer to make. I'm docking 1 star for the unnecessarily long wait times at the bar. If it weren't for that, this place would be 5 stars. A really cool concept and fun environment great for everyone!
google avatar

Yelp
It's always a good time at The Churchill! (Even in the thick of summer). This is a unique space that has a grand variety of events. A couple of the bars/restaurants have changed in the few years since the grand opening but one thing remains the same-- you're guaranteed to have a good time at The Churchill. The enormous ceiling fans and misters don't make you feel like you're outside in an enclosed area (especially when it's 100+ out). Various events I know of/have had there: special tastings, live music, bingo, game nights, brunch DJs, local vendor fairs (a la Etsy IRL)... not to mention a good pitstop if you're crawling around RoRow or doing a light rail bar crawl. Hope this place never changes.
google avatar

Kathryn L.

Yelp
A high-traffic communal establishment with an open-air & patio/picnic seating set up. Vendors include a few various eateries, bars, a pizza kitchen, a wine shop, music/art & retail merchandise. They host Pop-Up vendors even from out of town for special occasions/festivals. There are exterior communal restrooms towards the back of the complex, yet still inside the secured courtyard. You'll see a few dedicated yellow shirts walking around serving as laid back security or 411 guides. Definitely a dope & vibrant atmosphere within the Roosevelt Row community. Parking is available across the street in a dedicated lot, meter parking on the street & a few garages a couple of blocks away.

Alex H.

Yelp
A nice place to chill and hang out with food and drinks. It is hot and even though they have fans, you still sweat. The food is good. The service was fast. A nice place to visit. They have many different food and drink options.
google avatar

Susie I.

Yelp
I love The Churchill! Always good vibes here. They have different options for food & drinks, also small shops to walk around. There's an area in the middle to sit & socialize & there's bean bag toss which is always fun My favorite drink so far would have to be the Gatekeeper from The Brill Line. It is so refreshing & I love the volcanic salt rim! There are plenty of different options, perfect if you stop in on a hot day. They even have a rotating frozen cocktail available on the menu at So Far So Good! When I went, it was the pink panther. It was so refreshing after walking around Downtown. This place is awesome day or night & service has always been great. Stop in if you're Downtown!
google avatar

Desiree D.

Yelp
We've been here numerous times over the years. There are some decent food options from Freak Brothers Pizza to Stoop Kid to the Neighbor Market and two cute bars where they have great beer selections as well as cocktails. They also have a bunch of retail shops. I love the open air environment with lots of seating areas, from tables to picnic tables to bar stools. There's even an upstairs place to sit and people watch. Relatively quick friendly service regardless where you go. A great option in the Roosevelt Row area.
google avatar

Ingrid G.

Yelp
Good vibes! The place is very fun and welcoming. Food we tried were the burgers! Ordered the stoop kids pobrecito and it was delicious!!!! The flavors were all so good can't wait to get another one!

Yelp
The music the night life the food the live dj at night they made the vibe just right def a spot to come to as a bar hop destination
google avatar

Jeremy L.

Yelp
12/15/21 post pandemic quarantine review The Churchill is a local spectacular food hall with bars and entertainment. Lots of ample seating in the middle! There was a live DJ playing classic Motown themed tunes at 8:08Pm. There are about 10 different restaurants including a breakfast smoothie/açai bowl place. I tried their produce before and it's very delicious from the walk up window. Another store includes the state 48, the Brill line bar, Provecho which is Comida from the Tierra. And there's also several other bars. The food is great, and so is the vibe. Great hang out spot! I recommend it. Came here after the Phoenix PHOESTIVUS and it's a great way to wind down or begin the after party :) They have local events here and music acts! Lots of heaters for seating in our Arizona "winter". Bar gets pretty busy! TV's are displayed in each corner so this is the place to hangout!
google avatar

nish

Yelp
Ambiance is good. Pizza is amazing there. Its a swlf service place.. its a great place to hang out as group of friends
google avatar

Chanele R.

Yelp
The Churchill is the perfect hangout spot with a lot to choose from. There are great stores selling unique goods, including some State Forty Eight gear, and there are a variety of food and drink options, including places with vegan and gluten free options. (My favorite drink spot is The Brill Line.) You can chill in the sorta-indoor-sorta-outdoor environment, listen to music, play cornhole, watch sports on TV... whatever floats your boat. The only downer is that they do not allow any outside food or drinks in. So, when there are street fairs adjacent, like the monthly Vegan Social, you can't bring your food in and grab a drink from one of the bars. Since the street fairs surround the property, it feels like they should be open on those occasions to promote business, but I get that the food vendors inside may not be a fan.
google avatar

Allie O.

Yelp
My husband and I love to come here especially when we have guests in town! There are a lot of food and drink options and the vibes are great! It's kind of a cross between indoors and outdoors which is perfect for Phoenix! The only reason I took off 1 star is because the prices are pretty steep, but it is overall a fun, welcoming, and unique spot that you should definitely check out when in the area!
google avatar

Citlali A.

Yelp
Really special spot in AZ because it's made for humans not cars! Quite a few little establishments in here that all share a large courtyard making it a great place to spend a few hours and enjoy drinks and food from different vendors. There is often live music to enjoy as you sit at your table. There is no table service as far as I know, it's all counter-order and bring to your seat. Plenty of people of all ages, but definitely more young people most nights of the week. It's rare in Phx to get so many cool places all next to eachother, and is especially nice if you're ubering there and home to get to enjoy more than just one place wiht out having to uber, drive, or walk really far somewhere else.
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
Great location housing a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants with seating in the center of the building. Love the vibe
google avatar

Rhett G.

Yelp
Came here for a drink last night with a friend. It was a very fun vibe. Lots of fun games such as corn hole, darts, and other things. The pocketful of gin drink was very yummy. We also tried the #notvegan which was alright. It taste like a Bloody Mary but wasn't my favorite. Super fun. Looking forward to going back.
google avatar

Yani C.

Yelp
Great vibes in this courtyard style space consisting of several shops and bars. It has food, cocktails and great music to entertain your afternoon. We asked for a couple cocktails from So Far So Good and they were very well made. Good stop along the way!
google avatar

Amanda F.

Yelp
My husband and I came in here for a few drinks and a bite to eat before a pub crawl. The place is cool as you can choose from a variety of places to eat or drink. This is helpful if no one can agree on what to eat. There is pizza, Mexican, burgers for your choices. The place is made up of old containers. They have mist sprayers in there but it still can be quite warm on a 100 degree late afternoon. You can always go into the restroom to grab some AC to cool off.
google avatar

Naomi G.

Yelp
We were walking around after going to The Vintage Market & saw The Churchill. This spot is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is so fun and the music was incredible. The food options were also amazing. I'm vegan and sometimes there aren't a lot of options, but here, I could get so much!! The people here were so nice too! If you are looking for a fun spot to hang out with friends I totally recommend checking this area out! It was a wonderful experience!
google avatar

Kelsey E.

Yelp
Perfect spot to meet friends for drinks. Because of the different options from all the different shops it's a little bit of something for everyone. Looked like new places coming in soon. We met on a Sunday and lots of tv options for football watching. Also had a baby with us and no problem with stroller and had changing station in bathroom.

Juan Carlos R.

Yelp
There's always good options for food at the Churchill. The environment is fun and relaxed, I look forward to coming anytime I visit downtown.
google avatar

Alina R.

Yelp
Super Cute! Music is good and has a lively atmosphere! We went to Infruition and it was the BEST fruit smoothie i've ever had in my life. It was $10 (little pricey) but you pay for the ambiance/music/atmosphere!
